TechWitch #4

Wicked Dreams

Rate this book
I thought finding out I'm a witch and being hunted by a demon was bad enough. Turns out the magical world has more surprises in store…

Maggie Lachlan thought she'd figured the TechWitch thing out. Navigating how to be a new witch and the girlfriend of one of the richest men on the planet—virtual reality genius Damon Riley—wasn't exactly easy, but she was getting the job done.

But then the Fae decided to return to San Francisco to help guard the human realm and one of their oldest powers decided Maggie needed to learn to hunt demons their way.

She doesn't need a warning from the Cestis—the witches who keep the magical peace—to understand the risks. Anyone who's read a fairy tale knows the Fae realm is dangerous. But the chance to defeat the demons for good isn't something she can pass up. Now she's dating a billionaire and trying to learn both human and Fae magic. It's a lot. Even before an old and deadly magic starts stalking San Francisco's nights.

If she's wants to survive, she's going to have master her powers, take all the help she can get from the Fae and the witches, and face down the darkness trying to turn her dreams to nightmares…

Not only is magic real (and Maggie has it).
Not only are demons real (and Maggie has defeated one).
But fae are real (and Maggie needs to help them out).

Fae are real, and they are anchoring the door to their kingdom in San Francisco. Oh, and a dark creature that feeds on people's nightmares may have snuck out the door and be feeding on the lives of humans. Maggie can help out with that, right?

Once again, the worlds of tech and magic collide, and Maggie might be the only one who can save the world from the darkness.

Loving This Series

I’m picky, and I know it. This is one of those rare series where both the writing and editing are excellent. All too often, one or the other falters, especially with indie authors, though I’ve seen some trade pub that were just as bad. This is a 5+ star series so far. Highly recommend.

nothing happens

Story just goes nowhere. Over half the book and no tension, no action, pages of off the wall discussions which don’t advance the plot. Will not continue this series.

keep going

I finish one as fast as I can. Then can’t wait for the next one. The use of technology and paranormal entities is awesome. Different take on the paranormal

Too predictable that Maggie would be ensnared.
No real MC development.
