Well that's the last of the Court Boys' stories out there and what and end to that chapter of their life. Lover encapsulates Ramses so well, that is who he is, he loves with all his heart, is so kind, will do anything for anyone, always there to offer the helping hand. Such a pure-hearted soul and yet underneath the surface and his warm smiles, Ramses is in utter turmoil, he's still in love with his best friend. His married best friend, despite everything he has said, it is clear in everything he does he still holds a torch for December and he has done everything to try and distract him from that pain.
Only the most extraordinarily perfect woman could ever hope to steal Ramses' attention away from December as all seems hopeless. So in walks Doctor and Professor Brielle Whitman-Quintero a fiesty latina who instantly captures Ramses' attention with her beauty. Drawn to her from the very beginning, someone who is in just as much pain as he is, maybe more they meet in very tense circumstances. Despite their age difference, their characters are so similar, Ramses is running from heartache and his uncontrollable feelings, whilst Brielle is running from abuse, hurt and the most crushing pain. There are so many obstacles in the way that should keep them apart, their age difference, her job, her past, his past, the small fact that she is his mother's friend and yet will true love conquer all? It will if Ramses has any say in the matter, loving with all his heart, he is all in, showing his youth with his impulsivity, but showing he is wise beyond his years with his caring and doting behaviour, which is just what Brielle needs.
Reading about how this couple came together, saved each other, Ramses does in fact save Brielle's life was inspiring, an emotional forbidden romance story. A well-developed plot that keeps the reader thoroughly entertained and allows them to connect deeply with the characters. Brielle's character development is my most favourite part of this book, seeing her become the strong woman she is in the next gen books was so lovely. Ramses' makes Brielle feel irrevocably safe and it's so evident when you read their story, the sense of safety oozing from the pages. Alas bittersweet is this ending to this incredible series but it's time for the parents to move over and let the kids have their turn!
