End of the Series
Let me first say that the plot of Clara Lewis' Ava Locke series was good enough to keep me reading all twelve volumes and in a very short time period. I was kept on my toes, waiting to see how Ava Locke was going to extricate herself from an evil empire that appeared to hold all of the power.
However, I was so distracted by the usage of the same phrases, common typos and redundancies that I felt like I was an Advance Copy Reader correcting the manuscript. As well, I thought I was much younger and reading chapter books.
I am sad about this because I believe Clara Lewis has it in her to go to the next level and be a great crime mystery writer. I'd like to see a good editor take her by the hand and correct some of these issues and motivate her to combine these 12 short volumes into a single book.
This is my take on the series. Agree with me or not, but do give them a read. The story is a good, solid crime mystery with many red herrings and unforeseeable twists in the plot. A solid 3 star read.

Our heroine has taken the only way out that she sees and has joined with her enemy. But all is not as it seems and she might still have a plan. The question is, will it work?
This is book twelve of the series, the sixth book in the second story arc and its conclusion. I recommend starting at the beginning of the arc (if not the beginning of the series).
The story is a police detective mystery. The story is well written and easy to read while done as a serial, so each book will build on the last during this arc. We get a nice setting and intriguing characters which is always a big plus. The plot moves at a good pace and includes plenty of action and intrigue to keep it moving. As this is the conclusion of the arc, it pulls everything together for the dramatic conclusion. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and look forward to seeing what our author comes up with next.

This was a great ending for the series. This last book was so suspenseful! I wasn’t sure how it was going to end. I enjoyed the entire series. Clara Lewis’s writing brings the story and characters to life. I love all the characters. We see how each layer of the characters build through the series. I loved Ava of course, but also her interaction was Oscar, her partner. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

As this one is the end of the series, it has a higher concentration of action, and thrills.
It even mislead you into believing Ava did, really, shot Oscar in her first asignment for Veritas group (shot she did, but not kilked him, as she told them).
Gladly, within the ending of the last chapter, the leader of Veritas is given to the police, and the group dismantled.
Happy ending, kinda, as expected in a cozy mystery novel(s).

This was a superb ending to the Ava Locke series. It dealt with Ava's actions after she joined Veritas, after being stalked by the group for a long time. It had a lot of action and suspense. I highly recommend this book to other thriller readers. Although, I have a word of warning to readers: Please read the series in order to understand what is happening to Ava.

This was the follow up of Ava Locke and was full of action. Very good story and a real page turner. I was very happy it all turned out well for her as I could not see a way out. It was a free book. I enjoy all the books from Clara Lewis.

The last book in this series is exciting and the reader finds out if Ava overcomes the Veritas group. The suspense is great. The characters are well developed and the plot is tight. I would recommend this series. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Quick easy read to the end of the series
Ava was able to end Veritas and Corleone without destroying herself.
Pleasant ending with Ava and Oscar moving beyond friends.
Great series that moves quickly and keeps the reader involved.

Ava Locke series
This is the first Clara Lewis series I’ve read. I really enjoyed this series. It was fairly light as crime goes and I read all the books in one day. I feel these would be good for anyone that loves crime mysteries.
