Five years after the disappearance of her best friend, Ashley West gets a phone call that sends her on a quest for answers. The only lead she has to follow is the name Dr. Florence Stewart, a powerful, registered vampire ruling the New Orleans club scene. After meeting with John Beaufort, a known associate of Florence's, Ashely enters into an arrangement with a sexy, brooding vampire, Charlotte Allard. The plan is simple, find her friend and get out. Falling in love was never on the agenda, and it comes with bite.
I wasn’t prepared for the sub/dom, Master/Pet and bondage parts of the book because there’s no mention in the description. The book was well written and I liked some aspects as strong female characters, family and the whole Vampire/Human world the author created. The two MCs are very devoted to each other and communicate plenty.
The book had lot’s of kink but one made my actually cringe.
Well…that was 🌶️ as hell. The relationship between the main characters was very well done and I loved their dynamic. I’m hoping this is turned into a series as I’m a sucker for a good sapphic vampire romance and there could’ve been so much more at the end and with the side characters.
It was fine. It felt like it kept switching POVS in the middle of chapters, which made it a bit difficult to follow at times. A few parts felt rushed; while others felt like they could have been fleshed out more. It was ok for what it was.
Talk about sinking your teeth into a book! Sapphic Vampires?! Yes Please! I couldn’t put this down. Adore the MC’s. The story itself was truly authentic, the dialogue crisp and full of whit, the steam was thru the roof wonderful, and the book as a whole was just genuinely written extremely well.
This is a new author to me, but one I will gladly follow and read anything she writes! Just sincerely a Wonderful story!
➬➱➫➩➪【3.5 Stars】 This is Emily K. Hardy’s debut novel. I read this thanks to Kindle Unlimited and because of the tags!
I enjoyed Charlotte’s character and liked seeing her different layers revealed throughout the book. Ashley felt a bit one-dimensional for my liking. I found the storytelling a bit average. Nothing really stood out to me. I felt like it was somewhat predictable at times as well. I also thought it was a bit insta-lusty for my taste and it took a while for the book to pick up. The explicit scenes were decent because of repetition, but were spicy as hell.
An entertaining read that is easy to digest. Good book. Would recommend. ➢Happy reading!
Alright, there was only one kink that made me cringe a bit, you'll know it when you read it- but bare in mind, the MC is a vamp.
Everything else? Amazeballs. Really fun take on the Master/slave dynamic. Enjoyed that the small town girl takes to it like a fish to water. There's shibari, commands, acts of service, bondage, spanking, blood play, bratting... I mean, it's all in here for those of The Life.
Really loved the vampire portrayals- no sparkley children running amuck in here. Just some badass families protecting their own and strong women defending their family will always get my vote. Can't wait to see what else this author has in store!
This was overall enjoyable. There were some very convenient things for the plot and the ending was all a bit predictable. That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I thought the spicy scenes were hot and fun.
This is a quick and enjoyable read if you want something vampire related.
Enjoyed this book and the slow burn romance. The storyline was solid and I cared for the characters. World building and vampire culture was nicely done. The steamy scenes were very well done and not too full on, they certainly will get your motor running. One was quite unusual but I could see into fitting the vampire culture, although it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
I especially liked the way the book described feeling and thoughts and it really allowed you to sink into and immerse yourself in it. I believe this is Ms Emily’s first outing and I am very suitably impressed. Nicely done.
Well written. Only negative would be that it’s not long enough although it looks like there could be more and let’s hope there is! Vampires. Lesbians. Sex. Angst. Thrills. Can’t wait for more!!
Having read and enjoyed this authors latest (I Really Do) I thought I’d give this other one on KU a try. It’s in a completely different genre being about vampires and with lots of blood-letting, but I like to mix up my pure romantic fiction from time to time! Here, human Ashley finds herself having to work with vampire Charlotte to try to find what has become of her missing best friend, Olivia. Both MC’s start off very tentative with each other but both find themselves being drawn slowly and inexorably towards their fate ie. falling in love. Once some differences are ironed out, the MC’s succumb to their mutual attraction. All I’ll say about that is If you like a bit of BDSM in your spice, then this should be right up your street! The plot moves along apace with plenty of drama and action to hold the attention. There are some moments when you truly fear for the outcome. There are also some good side characters, some to love and some to loathe and there’s a set up for a series at the end (so, if you don’t like a cliffhanger you might want to skip the ‘Six Months Later’ epilogue). Personally, whilst I usually hate cliffhangers, this was OK as it felt that any continuation would be very separate and distinct. Not my favourite ever vampire book, but a decent read nevertheless.
I don't know what I was expecting when I picked this book, but it definitely wasn't what I found and let me tell ya, I really like it. It's a simple, straightforward story, from the beginning you get what will happen; what makes it enticing to read is watching everything falling in place. At least to me was that. I love stories where one get a front-row view to another's life and we get to see them reacting to it. It (almost always) makes for a fun reading. I'm really looking forward to the next one. And have I mentioned the hotness? top notch stuff, ngl.
p.s.: if you're not a fan of age gap, should pick another one, because there's a +250 year age gap here. LMAO
Good story but didn’t enjoy for switching characters
Overall I liked the plot and felt the story flowed well. Sometimes you were reading from Charlotte’s point of view then other times you were Allyson’s. I don’t mind this when it’s chapter to chapter but this switch happened from paragraph to paragraph with no consistency. I read this author’s other book “I really do” and I feel that work was much better than Bloodmoon. Personally I was turned off by how much the dom/sub (master/pet) aspect played into the story. I cringed with every use of “master” and the collar with leash. But that my personal reaction and I didn’t let that play a part in my rating.
Glad that I read Ms Hardy’s first book. It has the same depth of feeling that I Really Do does. It was an interesting story that was not the usually vampire storyline, that I truly enjoyed. The spice was very spicy. I’m not someone who is into DBSM themselves but I thought this was done appropriately to fair, given the situation. I do want a sequel to this book as I was annoyed that the vampire on vampire sex was not described and I feel this author had portrayed the other scenes very well, so I was intrigued. The book also lends itself to a sequel with the lending left open; my fingers are crossed.

Ashley is by far the most annoying character. I get it, she’s 21, but you’re an adult this point. All the whimpering and crying got old very quickly. Does the book have a plot? Yes, but I found the plot to be very weak.
The book is based in New Orleans and as a New Orleans native, I would’ve loved to see more descriptions of the settings. New Orleans is a quirky city, talk about that!
The book didn’t suck me in, and I almost came close to DNF’ing it. I was interested in the authors other book and I do hope it’s better than this. Insufferable, weak characters are not my forte.
Loved this so much. Both of the leads were relatable, well communicating and - for lack of a better way of putting it - human, and I totally see why they were so madly into each other. The depiction of the vampires and their culture was fascinating, and I'm so glad that unlike a few other vampire romances I've read, Charlotte's character was more fleshed out (ha-ha) than just being old, dark, and mysterious. And Ashley was just so sweet too.
Also how bloody (okay last one) steamy is this book??? So good. PLEASE can we have a sequel??
Though this is a F/F paranormal this story was for me chilling like really CHILLING🎇🎇🎇❗. So disturbing that it for me was read for a time sometimes usually till Ashley would get herself into a tense situation. That's where I'd stop and open a different e - book ❗. And that's how I finally finished this single book release by this writer. Yes it was very chilling for me but it was for that accomplishment that the writer most certainly rates a positive rating❗
BRO three stars bc unfortunately im a dumbass and was like “the grammar stuff that bothered me in the author’s other book, wont bother me now or maybe just won’t happen?” Bc guess what: “Brooke leaned forward and grabbed the headboard. Charlotte leaned forward and put Brooke’s nipple in her mouth.” (this one annoyed me so bad it seared into my brain) COME ON MAN did you even try??? So -1 for the sentence structure repetition and then -1 for plot predictability and lowkey cheesiness at times, by the end I was dragging to finish
BUT the epilogue sets up for potential book 2 and this book checked a lot of my boxes so, again I’m a dumbass, will most likely be partaking again •hot sexy vampires •ridiculous chemistry •enjoyable banter •funny side characters that only add to the story

Well done book 1, excited to see where Hardy takes this next. The ending might have been (a little) rushed it seemed but it actually fit with the action that was occurring so I can see how it wouldn't necessarily need to be drawn out. I'm a big fan of Charlie's sisters so I'm hoping for more of them & of the twins. This could be a pretty epic series. Hopefully it keeps going
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book but I’d read the author’s other book, I Really Do, which I LOVED and decided to read this one.
Bloodmoon: Bound has good writing and storyline. Great characters, most of which are vampires. And lots and lots of “spice”, (some may say smut or kink). All I can say is, where is the next book, Emily K. Hardy?
I hope there is another book maybe with the sisters. The book ends like there should be more to come and I really hope so. The characters were hot and the scenes were steamy. Awesome book!
Seriously, this is one hella good book. I read the whole thing in 1 night. It's well written that the characters are fun but also edgy, and the relationships are both endearing and hot. Im seriously hopeful that this is a series so i can read more.
I actually enjoyed this, I was a annoyed in the beginning due to the switching of povs but I eventually got used to it or it was edited better as the book went on.
All in all I’d read the next book if the premise is good, assuming this will be a series.
Everything I wanted, I got in this book. MCs very well written, plot was very good, side characters all with rich backgrounds. Hope this becomes a series for sure, if not a series with the sisters getting their girls then at least we gotta see what this miss Kimberly is about.
I really enjoyed this book! Charlotte and Ashley are definitely 2 of my favorite characters! I’m hoping that book 2 is on the way because I need to find out what happens next!
This was a an interesting take on the whole vampire troupe. The characters were interesting and the storyline was engaging. I hope there is a sequel because I'm interested to see where this goes.
Apart from the chaos of the POVs, the book started promising ... and the story is really not bad. However, I'm a big fan of fantasy and separating it from reality, so I can tolerate and enjoy a lot of things that would be an absolute no-go in the real world. But the issues in this book (especially the s/D dynamics) were presented with such seriousness that at some point I felt very uncomfortable.
I adore these characters so much, I do hope for another book.
Thank you for the twists and turns that make a great plot and for two women I adore ( well Charlie' sisters and the twins as well). I hope you write a second book.
