The third adventure in a brand new mountain man series from Ash Lingam! Grizz and Hammer prepare for deep winter in their log cabin in the Rocky Mountains. Adam “Grizz” James assembled everything they needed for their routine jobs during the cold months to come. They would spend the winter repairing beaver traps and fish baskets and curing and kneading skins to sell at Henry’s trading post when they returned next fall at the end of the hunting and trapping season. A sudden war between the Blackfeet and the Crow Indians breaks out, and like it or not, due to the location of Grizz’s mountain and the small settlement in Yellowstone Valley, they are forced into the fight. Their lives change from one moment to the next. Grizz knows that if they lose, he will have to move off the mountain, losing his home and relocating. Grizz and Brick Hammer, with the help of Jimmy White Bear, team up and prepare to save their mountain and, at the same time, the valley settlers below. Grab your copy today!
Ash Lingam was born and raised in Southern Ohio, not far from the mighty Ohio River. He had somewhat of an isolated upbringing on a family farm with his sisters. His best friends were his horse, Sugar, and his grandfather. Born in 1886, the family patriarch grew crops, raised cattle, and doted on the young boy. At his grandfather’s side, Ash learned about livestock and firearms at an early age. His grandad carried an old Colt with him at all times, helping spawn a young boy’s dreams of yesteryear. Ash was only eight years old when his grandad taught him how to trap muskrats to prevent them from draining the farm’s ponds. He gave him a double-barreled shotgun at twelve and taught him how to hunt to put food on the table. It wasn’t long before Ash was breaking horses. His spirited Tennessee Walker never allowed any other rider on her back. Together, they searched through the plowed fields in the spring, looking for Miami Indian arrowheads to add to his grandfather’s ample collection. Ash’s family was among the early settlers in pre-Revolutionary America. He has traced his lineage back to around 1746 when his ancestors immigrated from Europe to the aspiring American Colonies. A retired marketing executive, Ash devotes his spare time to training police dogs and writing novels. He has found his niche in the Western, historical fiction, and adventure genres. With his vast vault of experience, he never runs out of sources for new stories. He has lived in eleven different countries and worked in a total of forty-six, To date, Ash has written approximately 130 novels, short stories, and poems. More than one hundred of his eclectic titles help the American frontier come alive for his readers.
Another great story of the mountain man. Just like the first two books of the series, I was so glad that I started this series. I must admit, so far book #2 has been the best. I'm not quite half way through the series, so I'm sure they will continue to be as good or better with each book.
This is a must read series. I totally recommend this book as well as the series to be read by one and all. I'm looking forward to starting book#4 now. I'll give more updates in the future. Great reading!!!
The third installment of this series brings the three mountain men, the Crows and the townspeople into a partnership to survive an Indian war. Great adventure yarn
Grizz, Brick, and Jimmy (White Bear) have to fight off Black feet Indians to save the town of Twin Springs, then they go hunt grizzly bears, followed up by hunting buffalo without having to fire a shot. Lots of adventure.
