Morgan loves three things; Books, women, and being single. But when Grad school costs more than her rent, she needs to come up with a way to make some money and fast. After a one night stand with a beautiful woman, she wakes the next morning in a hurry to make it to her interview as a live in nanny.
Despite acing the interview, she has to pass one final test; meeting the mother—who just so happens to be her one night stand. They both decide to call it a one night thing and move forward, with Morgan becoming her son’s nanny.
As a divorced, single mom Lucy can get all the help she needs. But as the mistletoe is hung and the stockings are filled, are sparks flying too? As Lucy begins to fall for her son’s nanny, she shows her love in a series of her favorite books. Counting down the 24 days of Christmas with Morgan, by trying to tell her how she feels, worried she doesn’t feel the same.
Morgan devours each book, desperate to know if Lucy is sending her a sign. But as Christmas approaches, will each woman get what they want? Or will they be stuck out in the cold as the days of Morgan’s nannying contract are up?
Shannon O’Connor is a twenty something, bisexual, self published poet of several books and counting. O’Connor enjoys life’s simple pleasures: coffee, reading, traveling, and spending time with her new baby. O’Connor is continuously working on new poetry projects, book reviews, and more, while also diving into motherhood. She loves supporting local indie authors & shops as much as possible.
Although I didn't like how one of the MCs (the older one) behaved at the end (didn't make sense considering how this character was described) I liked the book. If you don't like kids, this is not for you. This is a relatively quick book with editing needs because the are several inconsistencies (hair color, job description)..
I finished this book on January 1, 2024 but I only had left 4 pages so I consider it to be on the 2023 stack.
If you like sugar and lots of spice in a Christmas romance this one's for you. Morgan is half-way through her degree to become a teacher - paying her way as she goes. Impulsively quitting her job leads to her grasping at the possibility of a nanny position mentioned to her by b.f. Bella. Lucy needs a temporary nanny (for her son Noel) when her regular one goes on maternity leave. What are the odds that Morgan and her friends are at the same bar as Lucy and Morgan's torrid one night stand turns out to be her potential employer? Setting aside their sizzling start, the women attempt to keep things on an employer/employee level with books, reading and interacting with Noel pushing the little trio along. Turns out that Morgan is a natural as a nanny but inevitably feelings can't be denied. Then Lucy's ex Kevin cements the fact that he's a real scumbag. Is the possibility of anything long term between Morgan and Lucy a reality? O'Connor's tale has a heat level that's off the charts, a Christmas theme and a neat epilogue to tie things up. I'm looking forward to what comes next in the The Holidays with You series.
Even if I ignore some of my own biases (age gap, boss/employee relationship), this novel is pretty terrible. And, I mean, I know a holiday romance isn’t likely to win any prestigious prizes, but this was dull, void of any real tension, with circumstances that made no sense. There was no spark. The author also seemed to be confused with their own character descriptions, as physical traits were switched back and forth. It’s a relatively short book that took me forever to get through because I just didn’t care.
Wonderful age gap romance. I like how both Morgan and Lucy always thought of Noel and his feelings in the story while they were developing a relationship. The story has a lot of heat and I really enjoyed how their dynamic changed over time.
This book was fun, light, and spicy! I just feel like the characters needed a bit more depth. And angst! I appreciated the forced proximity but where was the conflict after they got together? It made the last third of the book way too long and I got a little bored. It needs some editing too (at one point the hair colors were mixed up between the two). Overall I had a good time.

The story is cute and I love the lesbian/bi representation in a holiday romcom, but I felt like the plot was weak and it moved too fast. I wish there had been more tension between Morgan and Lucy. It was very upbeat, though, so if you are looking for a light, quick read, then this book is for you.
Well, I asked for it: an old fashioned romance with a HEA. Loved it. Silly, yes, made me smile, easy to read, perfect. Recommended. PS: Love the covers of this series.
This book is *chefs kiss* Everyone and I mean everyone needs to read this story. It will get you in the Christmas mood and will make you want to drink hot cocoa with a lot of marshmallows in it. It is amazing, incredible, just wow! This book has sweet sweet spice. FF. Age gap with Lucy being 41 and Morgan being 25. It has a sweet little kid who is very loving, thoughtful, and understanding. Have I mentioned it ll make you want hot cocoa? I have? And not only that but both the FMC love reading and it seems like their love language is gifting each other books that have a secret meaning to them. I couldn’t put this book down. It was such a fast read took half a day to finish it. And it left me about more because of how incredible it is. Can’t wait to read Ellie’s story!!

I Saw Mommy Kissing the Nanny was the book I’ve been waiting for this holiday season. It was unapologetically sapphic, filled with holiday cheer and tropes galore, and just short enough to consume in one sitting while still telling a full story. If anything, I would’ve appreciated a bit more depth to the story and background of the characters.
4/5 stars, definitely can’t wait to read more from this author!
I was luckily sent this book to read and give an honest review about. Overall the book was very cute. the theme of the book - I love how it’s a one night stand turns into the love of your life type of story. I liked how it was an lgbtq+ friendly story. I would have loved more depth to Morgan and Lucy’s relationship though. I do feel the pace of the book went too quickly and I didn’t really get the feeling of why they fall in love. There is a lot of talk about physical attraction but I would have loved deeper conversations between the two of them. Why do they both have mutual love for books and why is that their love language? Why is it easier for them both to convey their feelings by the messages in the books their giving to each other. I would have loved to see maybe quotes from the books they read mentioned, things that made it click to Morgan and Lucy that the books were explanations to how they feel. Why did Lucy’s marriage end? I would have loved to see some more conversations about how Kevin and Lucy maneuver co-parenting and how Kevin’s interactions with Noel affect Lucy’s relationship with Morgan. I think Kevin’s character had a lot of potential to add a bit of drama to the book outside of him not driving Noel to the “Cut” house. Why does his new wife look like the younger version of Lucy? Why is Lucy’s boss such an asshat, and how does she deal with that? These sorts of questions ran through my head throughout the book. I also would have loved more variety and detail on the spicer scenes. I think more experimentation on Lucy’s part would have been nice since it’s mentioned several times that some acts that Morgan performs on Lucy are things they hasn’t experienced before. I felt like a lot of those spicier moments were glossed over and rushed. Representation is so important in books and I think with having two female’s as love interests it’s important to take your time with detailing a relationship like that. I think the book was very sweet overall and the story has really cute moments throughout it. I love how accepting Morgan was on Lucy and Noel being a package deal. It’s a really cute Christmas book!

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed this story. It was fast paced and I didn't feel like it lagged or I lost interest at all. The characters' story and meeting was cute and I really liked seeing their relationship develop. I would have liked to see the issues with the ex elaborated on some or more content with the background of the friends. This would have added some more "meat" to the story as a whole. Overall, was a nice story with some very hot love scenes.
This was definitely a cute Christmas story. It was the perfect vibe for this time of the year! While I enjoyed the read, I wish the plot had been a little stronger. There seemed to be a few weak moments that had the potential to be key moments in the plot. The smut was great, and continued literally from beginning to end (what else could you ask for?). I also loved the LGBTQ+ representation!
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an ARC of the book in return for an honest review :)

I couldn’t put this book down! In fact, I didn’t. I read it in one sitting! I thought this book was so cute, super sexy and I loved that it gave visibility to the struggles of single parents (I’m STILL rolling my eyes at Kevin) and also represented the LGBTQIA+ community. I thought I would get confused at the chapters alternating between the POV of our two main characters, but I found it to be a great way to tell the story.
This book was fast paced, easy to read and gave us a few “WILL YOU JUST FREAKING KISS ALREADY?” moments. The tension and buildup was so fun to be a part of.
The plot does happen VERY quickly… within a chapter or two, we go from “I need to find someone to hook up with” to hidden feelings of “I’m in love with this person and am envisioning a future with them”. I would have liked to see deeper character development, maybe a slower burn and potentially some more back story of our main characters. Morgan’s in college and has a couple core friends that she hangs out with throughout the book (Bella never confirmed why she was super awkward at Lucy’s company party). Morgan references her family and friends back home once in a passing thought and nothing more - leaving us to wonder why her parents and/or hometown friends didn’t expect her to come home for the holidays? Lucy reveals her parents died, it was brushed off with “I don’t want to talk about this” and moved on. Also, HOW did Lucy and Kevin ever end up together? And how does Lucy feel about Kevin’s new wife? I was craving more!
There were some confusing points for me, like when Lucy’s son, Noel, goes to his dad’s for the weekend, Lucy asks Morgan to zip up her dress for a party. Upon coming home to ask Morgan to unzip her from said party, Noel is fast asleep in his room. I thought he was at his dad’s? Or when Noel was supposed to be at his friend’s for a sleepover, suddenly, he doesn’t come home for the weekend since he’s with his dad. Someone help me keep track of this kid!!
The immediate “MY girl”, “I love you’s”, “I’m going to a stepparent” and the codependence of Lucy hit a bit fast for me, but that’s what love does, right?
Overall, it’s such a cute, fun story. I enjoyed the spice (spice level: HIGH!), I enjoyed how O’Connor portrays the struggle of single parenthood exactly how it is, I enjoyed the cute bond that was forming between Noel and Morgan, and who doesn’t love a happily ever after? While I would have loved to fall in love more deeply with the characters, it was a fun read.

୨ৎ 𝘷𝘪𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬: age gap. one night stand. festive. romcom. way too fast paced. boss x employee. underwhelming as hell. very spicy. sapphic holiday romance. dual pov. ୨ৎ 𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘫𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵: 🧣💌❄️😬💋🎄🌨☃️🎀👎🏼 ୨ৎ 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 (𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵): horrible. ✧ 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 . . . — honestly ? not really. if you want to read a festive sapphic romance i would suggest going for a different book other than this because .... it’s just not worth it i’m sorry !
₊˚ ⊹ ♡ 𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓁 𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓈: — (✿´ ꒳ ` ) this had so much potential of being a cute, holiday spicy romcom sapphic story but i’m afraid i was disappointed. despite there being lots of spicy scenes, no actual tension was present. it was way too fast paced for me & personally i think that is needed for it to actually have tension and for it to be good as well. it lacked so much depth, the writing was just .... no. i’m sorry and some parts were so cringe for me. i literally just finished reading it so that i could give an actual review (that i knew was going to be bad) and also because i don’t like to dnf books and try my best to avoid that. at one point, i felt like i was reading a horribly done smutty wattpad story that was written by a 13 year old. i was highly anticipating getting to the very last page of this book, not because i actually cared enough to know how the story would end but because it was just not it for me. this is probably very harsh but i was so excited to read it just for me to end up disappointed :( — 𝒴 . 🎀

⭐ 4.5/5 🌶 4/5
❤ LGBTQ+ F/F ❤ Rom-Com ❤ Boss/Nanny trope ❤ Age gap
Morgan has a one night stand with Lucy the night before Morgan has an interview for a nanny job. Little do both women know, Morgan is entering an interview with Lucy! Her one night stand from the night before! An unexpected relationship forms in a slow burn, Sapphic romantic comedy. Morgan and Lucy's chemistry is like fourth of July fireworks and the spice is 🥵
This was the perfect way to start off my December reads! I absolutely loved it and absolutely fell in love with Morgan, Lucy, and Noel (Lucy's son, who "Nanny Morgan" (a name Noel calls her and it's so frickin sweet!) nanny's for). Morgan and Noel's relationship is the absolute sweetest! That ending was 🥵🤣 I laughed so hard at them being caught because they had gone the ENTIRE book without being caught!
The reason I gave it 4.5 stars and not a full 5 is because I feel like after about half way through, it felt rushed. The relationship moved really fast (which is fine!) but the storyline just felt rushed to try and reach the end goal in a timely manner. The days were hard to keep track of as well, I didn't know if it was the same day or next day, etc. Overall, it was a great Christmas read and I really enjoyed Shannon's writing! Can't wait for the others to drop 🥰

I wanted to enjoy this story but a couple of things held me back. Lucy and Morgan, the two Main characters, are not physically described in the book. This made it hard for me to picture them. It says Lucy has long blonde hair but that's it. The two women lust after one another but there are no reasons given. Morgan is ALWAYS smirking. She probably smirks 14 times in this story. Lucy "calls out" several times. The repetitive use of those words took me out of the story. Lucy is divorced and has the kind of incredibly well behaved child only found in books. I wasn't sure of his age until I was almost done with the story. There were some cute moments between the women. Lucy gives Morgan several books to read to help her understand how she is feeling. I love that they communicated through books. Lucy is bisexual and Morgan is a lesbian. I loved the representation. Morgan gets along with Noel, Lucy's child, and sees him as a positive addition to being with Lucy. The ending had several questionable independent events involving ice skating and then a kitchen counter. While I did like parts of this romance overall it was hard to want to finish it.
I liked how this was basically drama free. No real angst besides internal "struggles", but not enough to make the story heavy. It was festive and quite steamy; I wasn't expecting the latter, but I'm so very grateful for it anyway hihihi 😈😏
It's a story rather centred on the MC and the child, so we don't get to see much of the supporting cast, but except Lucy absolute wanker of a boss and ex, they were all nice people. And obviously I liked both MC, and Noel of course, individually and together; they're not perfect, mind, but that's the beauty of it, there's still plenty of space for them to grow up as individuals and as a couple/family. Especially Lucy, up to the epilogue she had a few hang ups she needed to work on, but I hope in that 3 years she took the time to work on them by herself and as a couple with Morgan.
And even though this seemed to be a 20 years age gap (it's not clear though) with the younger on her very early 20s, which I'm not the biggest fan of, I still enjoyed it A LOT.
p.s.: If I'm wrong about the gap size I'll gladly edit my review, alright?
This was such a cute and fun Sapphic/LGBTQA+ rom com book! It is hard to find f/f romance books (or it has been for me). Not only is it Sapphic, but it's set around Christmas time, it's an age gap (which I am really into right now) and it's a Nanny/Boss troupe. So many of my favorite things!!!!
Morgan recently quit her job and she is out with her best friends, trying to drown her sorrows away. Her friend sets her up for an interview to become a Nanny. She's waiting at the bar to order a drink when a beautiful blonde woman, Lucy, talks to her. Lucy goes home with Morgan and they have an amazing mind blowing night together 🥵
Fast forward to the next morning when Morgan goes to the Nanny interview and the little boys mom.... is none other than Lucy! They decide they can be adults about the night they shared together and keep their relationship strictly professional. Or can they?
I loved Morgan and Noel's relationship together. I love a Nanny troupe, but it makes it even better when there is an amazing and funny kid to fall in love with. Lucy was an amazing mom. She had a very demanding job, that took a lot of her time away, but when she got home, she was focused on Noel and put him first.
Morgan and Lucy were a great match. Their relationship grew organically. I love that they shared their love of books together (I loved all of the shout-outs to some great Authors!) The spice was so good!
This is the perfect book to read this holiday season! Super cute with low angst, age gap, Nanny/Boss story, sprinkled with some spice 🥵 I would definitely recommend this book!!!

Shannon O’Connor has done it again! What a heartfelt page turner. It will make you laugh and cry. Morgan takes on a nanny job to a woman she had a one night stand with. Can you say awkward? Of course Morgan doesn’t know at first. Lucy is a mom to a cute boy. Her nanny goes on leave for some time and she doesn’t realize it’s Morgan that’s about to work for her. Their chemistry from the beginning is smoldering. Can they keep their hands and lips off each other? Their relationship just flows-they get along great and Morgan is so wonderful with Lucy’s son. He even calls her Nanny Morgan. From the books-that have meaning left on Morgan’s nightstand to all the fun things they do, it seems like this is a match made in heaven. There is one moment when it seems like Lucy’s son won’t be able to see her for Christmas. Wait til you see what happens! I had tears in my eyes. What will happen once Morgan’s nanny contract is over? Is there a future for her and Lucy or will they go their separate ways? You won’t want to put this book down!
Age gap, WLW LGBTQ+, full of SPICE. This read was quick & H-O-T HOT. I loved the idea/storyline, but I did often feel like I wanted more. It overall felt rushed, and I felt like the author could’ve dove more into the problems and building the characters/relationships. Everything felt pretty surface-level. I wanted to know more about Lucy’s failed marriage and bisexualism, Morgan’s life growing up, her friends, and why there was the weirdness surrounding seeing her friend at the party?? Speaking of Morgan’s friend, her 2 friends had too similar of names. I definitely did not/could not keep them straight and now cannot remember either name. I loved the romanticization of their shared love of reading. I felt like that could’ve been built on for more romantic scenes between Lucy & Morgan (like the bathtub scene! That was so dreamy). I wanted more romance overall, but it felt their entire relationship was built on the sex and we didn’t get to see the real romantic connection before it fast-forwarded in the Epilogue.
**Thank you to the author for providing this as an ARC read in exchange for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The plot was well-crafted, and the characters were relatable. The tropes employed in the book, such as 'one night to forever', 'forbidden love', and 'nanny to lovers', were executed exceptionally well. The combination of these tropes resulted in a captivating and enjoyable read.
I genuinely appreciated the connection that developed between Morgan and Lucy. The chemistry between them was quite evident, and the intimate scenes were great. I genuinely enjoyed the rapport that developed between Morgan and seven-year-old Nole when she assumed the role of a nanny. Nole was an exceptionally charming child, and the dynamics between him and Morgan made for a delightful read.
Absolutely recommend this book.
Star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
This was absolutely adorable! I loved this book. This was my first LGBTQ book with 2 females. I don’t regret it. Morgan and Lucy are a dream. Their relationship is really right out of a movie. I loved the one night stand with Lucy turning into Morgan actually becoming Noel’s nanny for Lucy. The age gap between the two didn’t make a difference to either one but Lucy loved joking about it. The stolen kisses when Noel isn’t looking and the mistletoe kiss just to get one in with no weird questions from Noel was all but adorable. Perfect rom-com and still a holiday read. The spice was a 10/10 although I will say I wish it was less toys and more physical. But still a 10/10. I read this in one day it was so good. I would absolutely read this again and I recommend this to anyone who likes an age gap rom-com. ☺️

This was the holiday book I have been waiting for! —and it left a lot to be desired. While it was perfectly sapphic and represented the LGBTQ+ community I think it could’ve been so much more.
Lucy and Morgan have great chemistry but I want more angst. More moments where they were questioning what they were doing. I felt that the story was rushed and choppy at times and I didn’t quite know what Noel was supposed to be or if the events that were happen were on the same day or a different day.
That’s not to say that the spice wasn’t very good—probably one of the best parts of this book. Overall, it was a quick read and it definitely brought holiday cheer. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author/in this series!
I Saw Mommy Kissing the Nanny is a blurred lines, age gap romance between the Nanny and her boss. Morgan interviews for a nanny position to help pay for college only to find out she’d be living with and watching over the son of the woman she had a one night stand with the night before. They both agree to keep things strictly professional, but their undeniable chemistry keeps pulling them towards one another in a glorious, slow burn romance. The unexpected relationship catches Morgan off guard, as she realizes she wants the family life over her single, lonely life while Lucy discovers it’s okay to go after what you want, even if she’s the much younger nanny. The explosion of spice between Morgan and Lucy is brighter than 4th of July fireworks. But what happens when Morgan’s contract as the nanny comes to an end and it’s time for her to go back to college? Find out when you grab your copy of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and be sure to clear your schedule, because you’ll get absorbed into the story and you won’t put it down!
Do you wake the woman you had a one night stand with in order to get to a job interview on time? After an incredible evening and morning, Morgan let’s her one night stand sleep in while she rushes off to a nanny position she needs so she can continue her own education.
The interview goes well, until her new employer walks through the door and it’s the same woman she just left sleeping in her bed.
A novel of blurred lines, age gap, book references, and spice - it was the perfect romcom for the holiday season! Quick and easy read with lots of spice.
I wish there would’ve been more angst, more raw emotion, but if you’re looking for a cute romcom with that HEA - this is the book for you!
I'm a bit of a scrooge usually but I was so excited to read this book and it absolutely lived up to my hopes! While it is a holiday book, it's not overly saturated with Christmas. I adored Morgan, Lucy, and Noel! And there are some side characters I'd like to know some more about as well. I absolutely loved how hot it was as well. I need some more sapphic spice in my reading haha. And one of the things that was done really well to me was that we got that spice while still getting to see the relationship develop instead of just rushing into everything. I think the ending was done really well as well! Shan always writes amazing stories and this is another one on the list!
This was my favorite Christmas romance of the season. When Morgan falls for her boss (unknowingly), she gets herself into a difficult position. Does she sacrifice her feelings and stay professional or does she follow her heart and let herself fall in love?
O'Connor's holiday novel was both sweet and spicy. (Everyone loves a little smut😏.) I thoroughly enjoyed this one and consumed it in one sitting. <3
in the way that the characters seem so flat and they have no interesting personalities. also morgan’s friends are there only for the sake of the plot and they do their thing and then just go to never be seen again.
ALSO WTF WITH THE EPILOGUE I DID NOT NEED THAT IND OF INFORMATION
one star more for the smut
