The Free worlds league had been feeling a bit neglected lately. This book goes a long way towards correcting that. The core narrative this time around is the Free World's various sub factions trying to carve up the mostly abandoned Wolf Empire, and the few wolves left behind trying to hold the whole thing together. There is also some action in the periphery with the Marians getting up to barely anything. The Capellan's are busy getting distracted by their allies moving around behind their back and basically ruining their chances of attacking the Ilclan. Actually, I found this iteration of the Magistracy of Canopus pretty annoying, hopefully they have a change in leadership sooner than later. Nothing really comes out of that B plot and it seems like it's just setting things up for the next source book.
If you like the Free worlds or their clan protectorate, then this is worth while. The other factions plot lines don't really go anywhere but do a good enough job of reminding us they exist.
Great artwork and presentation as usual. Kind of weird how many of the mechs featured are older machines though.
