Mistake #1: Sleeping with a friend
Hooking up with Quincy was a no-brainer.
The sexy hot-shot Navy pilot wasn’t on my SEAL team.
I thought she’d be safe for a one-night stand.

Mistake #2: Letting her walk out the door
I realized too late she wasn’t a one-and-done for me.
But now she thinks I’m a player. Okay, she knows I’m a player.
Which is why she won’t go there with me again.

Mistake #3: Wanting to repeat Mistake #1
Quincy’s on my team. We live in the same barracks.
We’re friends. I don’t want to screw that up.
Being near her is pure torture. I don’t know how much longer I can last
Before I risk the biggest mistake of all — losing her.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Trope: second chance, workplace romance, military
Angst:😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale knock it out of the park again with another super hot and entertaining tale in the Alpha Mountain series. This time we have Kennedy vying for a second chance with Quincy, the girl who knocked him out of f**kboy status during a deployment, but then one-and-done'd him. Tempers and libidos are rising when Kennedy decides he's going to keep her away from any available guys in town while he tries to convince her he's worth a second chance.

Overall, I really liked this story. While Warrior is a standalone, there's a continuing story arc woven through all the stories that definitely held my attention and Kennedy and Quincy's story was cute. The ole "I was a f**kboy but now I love her and how did this happen?!?" trope is always a fave of mine, lol, and provided a lot of entertaining moments. I also liked the fact the heroine was a veteran (we need love too 🤷🏻‍♀️), but I thought her internalized struggles were relatable not only as a female veteran, but also just as a working woman in general. Cute story!

Vanessa Vale and Renee Rose are bringing all the action and head in this dynamic new Alpha Mountain series. And the second outing Alpha Mountain is just delicious- growly alphas, lusty chemistry, and a here a bad-a heroine that keeps our charming, ladies-man hero on his toes! We've got steam, action, so much banter, and sizzling chemistry that all keep the pages tuning. Loving this series! Another great action-packed, super steamy visit to the mount. Can’t wait to dive into our next ex-seal’s story!

I had a hard time connecting with this one. Maybe it's because I haven't read the previous books, or maybe because there was no buildup? Idk, this is marketed as a standalone, but this jumps in with little introduction to the characters, so reading the series in order is something I would recommend.

Overall it wasn't bad, I just felt like I was missing something. I didn't particularly love either of the lead characters, but they weren't the worst either. I think this is a case of its not the book, it's just me.

I liked the story overall, but the last couple chapters kind of killed it for me. The overarching plot was wrapped up so quickly, I had to check and see if I missed a chapter or ten. Even one character comments that the wheels of justice were moving at lightning speed. It felt like more books were planned in the series (there are also other characters that were being lined up for their own books) but then the authors decided against it. These were all published two years ago, so I'm guessing the series is now completed. Which is really too bad, there's a couple characters that I'd really like to see their story(s).

More for this Great Series!!

Quincey is a pilot for Alpha Mountain Security. She had one night with Kennedy years ago in Qatar when they were both in the Navy, but his reputation as a player made her keep her distance.

As the team continues to work to clear Ford’s name, sparks fly and danger increases as they get closer to answers. The team has a great rapport and each others’ backs. This story is a perfect blend of action and romance. A terrific addition to this series.

DEFENSE OFFENSE—OR OFFENSE DEFENSE

The Alpha Mountain series revolves around a group of men who served in the SEALs together. They have been a team, had each other's back, and when things go wrong, one dies, one loses his career, and he returns to his hometown of Sparks, Montana. As other team members leave the military, they will join together, starting a company, Alpha Mountain Security.

The second story in the series will mainly focus on Alpha team members Chase Berghart, call sign Kennedy and Melissa Mason, aka Quincy. Kennedy is a former Navy SEAL who served with the other men, including Ford, and Quincy was a Navy pilot who had a reputation as being the best—but held back because she was born female. Now, they both are part of the Alpha Mountain team. But, unbeknownst to the other teammates, Kennedy and Quincy had one night in Qatar that rocked both of their worlds—and now, they seem to have a way of irritating one another.

The story will have plenty of angst, action, adventure, and danger—but it also has hot, passionate, angry intimacy between Kennedy and Quincy. She believes he is a womanizing man whore, bedding all the women he encounters. Yes, Kennedy is a flirt, likes to wink at the girls and even goes as far as allowing Quincy to believe what she assumes. Yet, when he learns that Lee Landers, the mechanic in Sparks, is interested in Quincy, he purposedly comes between them—and that leads to another passionate sexual encounter. There is so much animosity between these two that when they do get together, they give as good as they take. Not everything is as it seems—and eventually, the truth will be revealed.

The story is an ongoing saga—who framed Ford and was responsible for the death of Buck? How far up the chain of command must they go to uncover the truth? The story takes on life and death danger when Quincy’s father, an Admiral, digs into the files—alerting someone, then things start getting hot and heavy. Lives will be on the line as danger comes to Sparks.

I loved the chemistry between Kennedy and Quincy—while he seems like he is playing the field, he only has eyes for her. How will she react when she learns the truth? Both have family issues—he refused to live up to his political socialite parents’ expectations of him—and she was born female in a male-dominated military household. No matter what either one of them did career-wise unless it worked in the favor of their families, it was never enough. Has this tainted them with finding happiness and love? Once again, Ford’s grandmother is a shining star in the story—she is wise and honest.

Coworkers / ex SEAL / Military / Close Proximity / Bad@ss FMC

Vanessa Vale never misses 👏🏼

Quincy and Kennedy were stationed in Qatar together in the navy where they first decided to hook up.

Quincy instantly regretted it because Kennedy is a total player. He goes through different women at every port and she just doesn’t want to be with someone like that. But when she takes a position as a pilot for Alpha Mountain, she finds out she will have to deal with the ladies’ man once again. Kennedy also works for Alpha Mountain. She tries to avoid him or be as snarky as possible, but no matter what, Kennedy isn’t deterred. She already has to deal with her admiral father who thinks she isn’t good enough because she’s not a man, she doesn’t need her coworker thinking the same thing because she caught feelings for him in Qatar. She needs to find someone else, and quick!

Kennedy hasn’t thought about much else since Quincy and him rendezvoused in Qatar. Which is so unlike him. He doesn’t get caught up on women. Ever. But he is a simp for little miss Melissa Mason (Quincy) and he just has to have her again. But she HATES his guts. Why? What did he ever do? She was the one who RAN, not walked, RAN from him after Qatar. But that’s okay, because he is in great health. He will just have to run after her until she decides to stop fighting the attraction between them.

Like I said, Kennedy is a simp and it is so freaking funny!! There is one scene where he literally chucks her phone so she can’t call her date and I died laughing!

The spice is amazing! Chefs kiss, magnifique!

Boy, do Kennedy and Quincy fit the enemies-to-lovers bill! These two see everything about one another in the worst light, as neither one has faith in themselves about being able to maintain or even needing a relationship. Both of them have baggage from their families’ expectations of them, and both are trying to live to an image. For Quincy, it’s being a worthy woman in the military; for Kennedy, it’s cementing his playboy reputation. So each uses their belief about the other to assume the worst—and that’s kept them apart for years.

But Alpha Mountain Warrior is also a second-chance romance, and one thing that Rose and Vale do exceptionally well in this book is to paint the irresistible pull that Quincy and Kennedy have to one another. The jealousy they have of any potential partner entering the other’s life is palpable, and the only people they’re fooling about their interest in one another is themselves.

The overarching theme of this series—the redemption of two members of Kennedy’s Navy SEAL group—gets a strong push in this book. I do wonder where future books will go with this after the actions in this book. There’s a bit of repetitiveness in Alpha Mountain Warrior as Kennedy and Quincy reiterate their reasons to avoid a relationship until I felt like saying, “yeah, I get it, I get it.” And Kennedy’s family has a surprising lack of a role in this book; I was expecting them to have as much of an impact as Quincy’s family, and that never materialized.

But this is a feisty, sexy, and fun read of two people who just can’t escape the desire they have for one another. Things happen to move these two from an essentially self-centered position to one where they can care for one another. It’s a fine addition to a great series from Rose and Vale!

This is the 3rd book in this fascinating series, and this is Kennedy and Quincy’s journey. These two hooked up one night while they were both in the Navy and in Qatar. Quincy is sassy and independent and a Navy pilot, while Kennedy has a reputation as a player. When Quincy takes up the pilot position at Alpha Mountain, she finds out that she will be on Kennedy’s team, and they will be staying in the same barracks. Kenney is protective of Quincy, and she is determined to resist his charms, and not be swept off her feet, and they have a love / hate relationship between them. This is a well written story which these talented authors have done an outstanding job in weaving. This story has 2nd chances, danger, suspense, intrigue, violence, emotions, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to a steamy and thrilling page turner.

This the 3rd installment in this amazingly entertaining series. The teammates are still trying to figure out who set some of them up and why. We got a few questions answered but definitely need more information. Kennedy and Quincy work together and have enjoyed a few nights together. They have stressful and dangerous jobs, Is wanting more a bad idea for these two? Heck no! They are soooo good together! She is sassy and independent and he is protective of her if she likes it or not. This was a great quick read with a lot going on. I truly enjoyed this one! I love all the characters in this series. The stories have been a great combination of danger, love and friendship. This page turner of a series always has me wanting the next book right away. I’m already looking forward to seeing what happens next!

I’m really enjoying this series! Another member of alpha mountain falls! Well…actually two do! Kennedy and Quincy had such chemistry! Phew I had to fan myself a lot whilst reading this one. It was explosive!! Throw in the suspense, some sweet romance and more time with the rest of the team and I’m a happy camper! I loved how bad ass Quincy was. I just saw the next book isn’t out yet…I wonder if and when Taft will get his HEA!

Its great that Quincy and Kennedy are slowly finding their way back to each other but a major surprise causes doubt on Quincy’s part. The team is still trying to clear Ford’s name and his military record, with danger coming by way of a surprise attack by mercs. This is a fast pace story that is full of romance and action with some of it being dangerous. I loved this story and the others on this series. I would highly recommend them as great reads.

I totally love this Alpha Mountain series and I'm so hoping there will be more! They just keep getting better and better in my opinion. Kennedy and Quincy in this book were so perfect together. Kennedy, is a retired SEAL and Quincy is the navy fighter pilot he met in Qatar. Quincy is a strong, kick butt female who gives Kennedy a run for his money. An excellent read that I wholeheartedly recommend! I received an ARC and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

Quincy and Kennedy knew each other way back when and now find themselves working together again but find they neither of them can forget what they once had. It's now time that they both revisit that steaming hot connection they had back then. Great connection, lots of action and adventure, not bad with overwhelming angst. I enjoyed Quincy and Kennedy's story so very much!

Kennedy and Quincy are definitely explosive together. I think that they understand each other better than some of the other couples do, mostly because they have some of the same background. The fact that they were both in the military and served in the same areas gives them some shared experience that the others don't have.

I think that Quincy is really strong and has worked really hard to make herself who she is, and she should be really proud of that person. She had to push through a whole lot, including her father's idiocy, and she did it. She can stand on her own and do what she needs to.

I think that Kennedy is a good guy too. He knows who he is and he isn't going to let anyone try to run his life because he knows what he wants out of it.

Great read.

This was a wonderful ending to the series and while it resolves Ford’s problem it is really Quincy and Kennedy’s story and they were so good together. There are some very hot scenes, as well as some hair raising ones and of course there was the “I’m right” dance. The ending was so sweet but so perfect for this amazing couple. A real feel good ending for the Alpha Mountain men (and women) series.

I loved the push and pull between Quincy and Kennedy. The sexual tension is palpable, and the sparks are non stop. I liked how Kennedy knew when to push and when to fallback. The twist and whirlwind drama/action at the end was gripping. The "I'm right dance" was awesome! Great ending and great series.

Quincy and Kennedy’s story is a wonderful read. It starts off with a bang and just keeps getting better and better. It’s fast paced full of twists and turns to keep you reading till the very end. Their story is woven into the previous books of this series with Quincy now being their pilot, Kennedy has always had feeling for her and now he makes his move. How they work through their differences and the danger from their former jobs makes for a super read !

Love This Series!

Quince and Kennedy are just hot. Palpable chemistry, but beneath the love-hate vibes, they are both very much strong individuals.
A few surprises here and there made Warrior a fabulous read.

I loved, loved, loved Quincy and Kennedy's story! These two's chemistry and tension are off-the-charts! I couldn't put the book down because of that. Though I did not want their story to end, it's quite a fast-paced read. So you'll fly through it. I loved Kennedy's character because she's very strong and independent but Quincy knows just how to break down those walls.

I enjoyed reading Warrior by Vanessa Vale and Renee Rose, the entire time I was reading it I was getting Top Gun vibes with Quincy being a pilot. I really liked that the female lead, Quincy was a strong female in the military, a bad ass pilot, and she wasn't willing to just give up on her dreams for anything. So often I feel that we see in media women that they're strong but willing to give up what they want from life for a man. I also enjoyed that the male lead, Kennedy, was more than happy to let her live her life anyway she wanted as long as he was along for the ride.
Melissa "Quincy" Mason has always had a lot to prove. As the fourth child and only daughter of a Navy admiral, who also followed in her father and brother's footsteps by joining the Navy she had to prove she was just as good as them. While she didn't make it to admiral, commander or captain, she followed her passions and flew, and was damn good at it too. She had to prove to herself that she was nothing like her mom, letting a man and having children, derail her plans. So when she spends one night with base playboy Chase "Kennedy" Berghart she wasn't willing to give everything she's worked so hard for for him, and she certainly doesn't trust that she's his only one. Now that she's out of the Navy, working for a private group she has to work with Kennedy, and all the feels she shoved down when they were together before are back. Can Quincy have everything she wants and everything she thought she could never have?
Kennedy once was a player and then he met Quincy on base and ever since she's been it for him. But he didn't tell her that she was it for him so she walked away without a backwards place. Now that they're working together again and living close he's determined to make Quincy his. If only he could prove to her that he's trustworthy and he's the only one for him, but its going to take a lot to convince her.

A thrilling addition to this sexy romance suspense series. It’s all fast paced action and danger along with a sizzling romance that culminates in revealing the enemy that has plagued the team. That team is the extremely talented bunch of former SEALs, Kennedy, Tate and Hayes, and one fierce former Navy pilot, Quincy. I love this group that’s lead by Ford, owner of Alpha Mountain Security, as they search for the culprits that took the life of a teammate and ruined his SEAL career. The danger that started in the first story and followed through this one is full of intrigue, mystery and violence. I was thrilled when the team pulled together to rescue one of theirs and defeat their enemies. The other part is the super sexy, a little enemies to lovers, romance between Kennedy and Quincy. Their romance began during wartime and carried over stateside when both ended up with Alpha in Montana. It’s hot and passionate but can Quincy trust the bad boy player with her heart? Is she ready for a relationship when she’s fought so hard for all she’s achieved? Her fight and fierceness is terrific as she goes toe to toe with the boys. What a fabulous heroine! I love all these guys but I always love the a bad boy so Kennedy is my favorite with his charm and sexiness. The reveal of their backgrounds really brought these characters to life with their struggles and perseverance when families are involved. The little surprise at the end was exciting and I loved it. This story started out hot and didn’t let up all the way to the end. I love all the characters but especially Ford’s grandmother and the family and friends atmosphere in small town Montana. I can’t wait for the next installment in this seriously good series. The only guy left is Tate but I’m hoping a few more SEALs are ready to join Alpha like story hero Lincoln. Don’t miss out on this story and series. Worth the read! 4.5 stars

The dynamic between the Alpha Mountain crew is unmatched. I love them all, and of course Mrs. L makes me so happy. Kennedy has intrigued me from the start. I felt like he was hiding a lot from pretty much anyone. The man is a shameless flirt and gets a lot of attention from females, and he also likes to pay attention to the females. But I always felt like there was so much more to him. And to be honest, I love when a former playboy falls.
Quincy is one badass female. She is a former pilot and has worked with this crew when they were all enlisted. I love how she fits in with the guys so well but also has her crew of girlfriends in her new town. From page one of the prologue Vale and Rose had us on the edge of our seats and the dynamic between Kennedy and Quincy was stellar. They have some serious banter and Quincy loves nothing more than to put Kennedy in his place! As the book unfolds we get to learn a lot about Quincy, and while she might come across as confident and in control internally that is not always what she is feeling. The relationship that she has with her family fascinated me from the start, and as it unfolded it intrigued me more.
Kennedy and Quincy struggle to keep their hands off of each other, and think that they are so sneaky. Their chemistry and connection is stellar. They seem to understand and get each other like no one else has ever been able to. They really become a perfect pair. Kennedy supports Quincy and stands back while she is a badass pilot, but is also her soft spot to land. Quincy supports Kennedy in his dreams and how he wants his life to play out. Witnessing these two who refused to let people fall in love was a pleasure and I hope that we get more of them in this series! Another amazing book from this author duo!

When Kennedy and Quincy hooked up in Qatar, she thought all it could ever be was a fling to relieve stress after a mission. Quincy never thought they’d end up on the same team stateside after they both left the military. And, now, being around Kennedy is a whole lot of tease since she knows it can never be more than flirting.

Kennedy wanted more than one night, but his reputation preceded him, and now she thinks he’s a player. He’d do anything to prove to her that he wants to be all in. As the sexual tension between them skyrockets, they’ll need to see if they can have a relationship or if chemistry is all they have between them, all while still working to uncover who is behind the trouble that brough the Alpha Mountain Team together in the first place.

I loved Quincy! She is such a spitfire. She’s had a tough road proving herself in what is really considered a man’s world, and I adore how her teammates respect her skill in the pilot’s seat. And, Kennedy is definitely a charmer, but there is so much more to the man than his flirtation skills. I really enjoyed the connection they share in that neither of their relationships with their parents is all sunshine and roses, scaring them both off of commitment.

Warrior was fast paced, and suspenseful as the story arc first started in book one finally comes to a close . . . and what a shocker! I also loved that the book starts on quite the reveal, and then backtracks to make it back to that point which helped build and keep tension throughout the story. 5 stars for Quincy, Kennedy and the rest of the Alpha Mountain crew!

Warrior is book three in the Alpha Mountain series by Renee Rose & Vanessa Vale. This one focuses on Kennedy and Quincy and how their relationship develops. Kennedy and Quincy got it on during Qatar but both being in the Services, they didn’t think they would see each other again, even though there was an immediate spark between the two of them. Fast forward a few years and both of them find themselves on the same team trying to figure out who has framed their boss, Ford and caused his dishonourable discharge from the Navy.

Both characters definitely feel an attraction to each other, but Quincy is worried about Kennedy’s playboy ways and Kennedy isn’t looking for a relationship. At least that’s what he wants her to think, until things come to a head due to both characters jealousy over each other and then the sparks are literally flying. We’re literally thrust into the ups and downs of Kennedy and Quincy’s relationship and the baggage that both of them bring with them whilst they try and stay alive and ahead of a killer.

This was definitely a good addition to this series. I loved how Kennedy and Quincy were with each other and the growing that both of them did throughout the book. I especially liked the conversation that Quincy had with her mother later on in the book which gave her a lot of perspective when it came to being a professional woman. They also have some hot chemistry! I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

The third book in this fantastic Alpha Mountain series and I'm loving Quincy and Kennedy - these two are a perfect match for each other - but not right away!

Quincy and Kennedy were in the Navy together and hooked up, which rocked each other's world, but Quincy did a runner as Kennedy was a player then, a girl in every port, and she didn't want that.

Fast forward to now, they are both working for Ford in his team, Quincy is the helicopter pilot, and the forced proximity of them working together is hell! Quincy can't get Kennedy and his epic talents out of her head, but blows him off all the time, she doesn't just want to be a notch on his bed post, and so tries her best to hate him and keep away.

Kennedy knew he was done for after Quincy, she ruined him for any other girl, and hasn't been with anyone else since her. He knows she hates him, but he cannot stay away, and definitely does not want her to be with anyone else!

These two are on fire together, they 'hate' each other with a passion, and when that passion spills over to the bedroom expect fireworks! Quincy wants a career, not to be tied down to a home life like her mum, she has 3 older brothers and a father in the Navy and has always had to prove herself but was never good enough for her father. Her sark and wit keep Kennedy on his toes!

Kennedy is very alpha, dominant, and protective of Quincy and she has the power to hurt him like no other, but he is unable to keep away.

The previous two books have the guys still looking to clear Ford's name and we find out more about that in this one. The closer they get to the answers the more danger the team is in. Lots going on in this one, great character interaction, lots of action and drama with some extremely hot steamy scenes! A terrific addition to this series!

Kennedy has been a player since he was a teenager. One-night stands were his norm. Knowing the reason why does not make it OK but you can understand. It takes that one person, the one to make you want to change and be a better man. Quincy is that person for Kennedy. Since Qatar Kennedy has not been the same. He realized she was different. He wants more with her. The trouble is she doesn't want any part of him because he is a player, or so she thinks.
Now they are both out of the military and working together. Kennedy's feelings for Quincy have not wavered. They are as strong as ever. How can he make her understand she is the one. He is done with his player life he now wants a relationship with her.
Quincy is in a tough position. She is a woman in a man's field. However, working for Ford she is treated as an equal. She was hired for her ability to fly a helicopter, regardless if she is a man or a woman. Kennedy treats her as an equal when they are working, but as a woman when they are together. She begins to see his feelings for her every time he holds her or even when they are just being together.
Kennedy respects her position with Alpha Mountain security. Unlike her father who never gave her praise for her time in the military, all because she was a woman.
Kennedy and Quincy burn up the sheets when they are together. Their relationship outside the bedroom is just as strong. The mutual respect for one another, once they got past what gave them pause to be together, is what made them so perfect for one another .
