I really enjoyed these stories, but I still find myself lost at times. It’s a constant struggle to know who is talking. Anyway, it was quite an interesting world to visit.

Indigo
By Jae Greyn

In all honesty, I can't decide if I like this book a little or a lot. I really liked Indigo and Echo. They had a little chemistry. So that wasn't the issue. It just felt like things weren't adding up sometimes, and parts of the story had holes in it, so I was confused. If it hadn't been that I was so confused at times, I would have given it 4 stars.

The biggest complaint I saw in the reviews by previous readers was that the author did not specify who was speaking at the moment. Except for the very last chapter, that problem seems to have been fixed as each chapter lists whose pov it is now. So no worries there.

Standalone sequel in the Fire Ridge Pride series; M/M lion shifter with intrigue
OK. First off, the author must let the reader know who is talking! It took pages, during a conversation, before someone mentioned who they were talking to and that was the person narrating that chapter. Since the books are told in several points of view (POV), this is imperative. I notice in the next book that the author has done that. Thank heavens.
This book is about Indigo River Bonnie, 21yo and has a special talent. He uses his skills sparingly, but did in a recent incident in order to break a dangerous liaison. These times prey on Indy’s mind so he’s unaware when a tragedy occurs. As a result, his cousin Jasper must do the unthinkable to keep Indy alive. How will this impact Indy’s meeting Echo? Indigo has long had a crush on Echo who is 28yo and way out of his league. Beyond the M/M romance there is that little problem with messing with a witch. Hmmm…
If you like shifter stories with mystery and lots of characters, read this series. They are all standalone but tied together by characters. I suggest to the author an edit showing chapter headings to assist the reader like they have done in the next book. All the stories are intriguing and I’ve already started the next one, Remi. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews.

Indy and Echo are destined to be together. But their path to each other won’t be an easy one. They need to deal with a vicious witch and Indy is afraid the Willow fiasco isn’t done. Also Indy
has other complications in the form of Jasper. Indy needs to break his bond to Jasper to be able to move on. And that requires another person, namely Bobbi Jo to step up and claim Jasper.

Again this is a convoluted story and I had to reread quite a bit to suss it out. Really interesting characters and the differing prides approach to pride law was, I thought, unusual.

The found family is wonderful and quite varied in the hierarchy. I definitely liked the less hide bound pride better. I loved the kick ‘em out when they are a certain age and build them a house (mama’s decision).

Good characters abound and the storyline is giving more and more background about this interesting place. Interesting personalities, which I fear are approaching a heck of a showdown with someone soon.

Indigo and Echo are such a great couple and the heat they generate is amazing. There are, however, several roadblocks in the way of their relationship, not the least of which is that Indigo doesn't give Echo his real name in their first encounter and kind of like the Prince searching for Cinderella, Echo is left wondering and searching for this man he's so drawn to. There is more great world building for the series in this one, more about the laws each pride lives by. We see characters from previous stories and events from those have impacts here. With two more books to go, there are still mysteries to solve and dangers to overcome and I'll definitely be there for them.

Questions are answered. Indy, semi-secretly, got a house and pool from his Mom. He secretly crushed on Echo. They'd had a moment with Indy using a different name, that caused a bit of confustion. Then they got on the same page. The storyline is interesting. The author has a unique writing style, succinct and light on details There are a lot of moving parts in family complications and actions. Are the families abloe to work through the secrets to find balance? Interesting story. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

He is a lion with a secret crush on them so when he gets a chance to spend one night with them, he takes it. He gave a wrong name and that night just made his wants even more intense. How will he deal with it all? Will he finally get his man? Will they regret that one night? What about his lie? See if these two men get together at long last

This is the story of Indigo and Echo. It is the 3rd book in the Fire Ridge Pride series. Please read the trigger warnings. I would suggest that you read them in order. The action keeps you turning the pages. Love Indy and Echo. Definitely recommended.

I received this book as an Arc and I am happily reviewing it voluntarily.

Indigo & Echo

This is another interesting story in this series. I easily got caught up into it wondering what was going to happen next.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Even with all the confusing extra information this was an awesome book! To see Indy & Echo get a chance was perfection! Even a little HEA for Jasper & Bobby Jo thrown in for a full circle moment!

Indy and Echo were the cutest together!

I really do enjoy this series. We got even more world building and I have a feeling we’re building to a big showdown. I will admit I was a bit confused on the timeline of this one - I think some markers on timing would have helped (one month later etc at the chapter heading). Similarly I’d prefer if the chapter heading gave an indication of whose head we were in. But you work it out as you go along so it’s not the end of the world. The main thing is the story is interesting and the MCs find their HEA with each other. We got to see favourites from series which is great and really keeps that feel of found family. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Audio review 12/2023:

“Wanna fly,” he pointed to the dance floor, “or burn?”

I originally read this book back in September '22. When I saw it had been released on Audible, I had to get it to add to my library along with the first 2 audiobooks in the series. This is book 3 in the Fire Ridge Pride series. The series is being brought to life by the narration of Lance West and I'm enjoying every minute.

Each book in this series builds on the last, and it's imperative that they be read and/or listened to in order. With each book the characters are changing and evolving. What you might see as a HEA, for a particular couple, might not be how things end up. This author has a way of keeping you on your toes and keeping the stories interesting.

I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released on Audible.

Old review 9/2022: Wow!!! These books have pulled me in and have sprained my brain. I've been reading each book, in the series, twice since my brain can't hold on to all this information.

I love these new characters Indigo and Echo.

Keep up the good work Jae!!!

Again I had to read it right away. Finished it in one sitting too.
Indy is so cute! I have to say, I love how the we get introduced to new things as far as the worldbuilding goes. Love the additions and really hope there's another book coming!
