Brandi (36) soon realized after becoming Mrs. Mark Wright that her marriage was nothing but a sham. She was his trophy wife, his arm candy, a pretty face to show off at his work functions; nothing more, nothing less.
When Brandi's husband wasn't away on "business trips" and entertaining a harem of women, he spent every second of her life making her miserable. Brandi wanted to leave him. In fact, she tried once. He tracked her down and beat her within an inch of her life. He reminded her that the only way she'd leave their marriage was in a body bag.
Hope arrived in the form of their new pool boy, Seth Sinclair (23). What started out as longing looks and playful teasing soon escalated into a sinful love affair that turned deadly.
This is a Steamy Thriller that is suitable for Mature readers over the age of 18 due to foul language, domestic violence, cheating and mentions of SA.
A. N. Boyden began her writing journey in 2018 as an escape from the pressures and demands of a high-stress social services job. She never expected her nearly illegible scratching to turn into not only a passion but a career three years later. A. N. Boyden's humble beginnings began on Wattpad, where "Spouse Swap" was born. She gained thousands of adoring and supportive followers who gave her the confidence and boost she needed to finally self-publish.
A. N. Boyden's niche is interracial romances and thrillers that feature an abundance of steamy scenes, drama, and countless laughs. The majority of A. N. Boyden's female characters are strong Black women who reside in the great state of Texas, just like her. She sometimes refers to herself as a "one-woman" show, but frequently finds herself pitching her storylines to her husband, who is her number one fan.
I bought this off of Amazon not realizing it was not the one by Nikki Sloane. I am pretty sure this book is a total rip off of Nikki Sloane’s book as it has the same title and almost identical cover, it is the same picture but the model is in a slightly different pose. I was intrigued at the beginning like the first 27 pages and then I just felt it was all downhill from there.
This was... interesting. I really liked it but I felt it was rushed and Boyden could have gone deeper with Brandi and Mark meeting, a bit more background with Seth, and the development between Brandi and Seth. Mark getting his comeuppance was glossed over and I didn't particularly like that. Still, this was an interesting read.
This was a short quick age gap story that does end in a HEA despite the circumstances😊 Beware there are some triggering scenes.
Brandi’s abuser is her husband Mark and he has no shame or remorse for the acts of violence he unleashes on her😤😡. It was heartbreaking😢 to see when Brandi learned how far Mark went to have his way, he is a total piece of 💩.
I felt terrible for all that she had to endure and I’m glad that Seth came into her life when he did😍. Brandi’s situation looked bleak but after spending time with Seth she knew it was time to stand her ground. I was so hyped when she finally confronted Mark who was so smug during his verbal vomit🤮, he deserved everything he got. I appreciated Seth not pushing Brandi about her situation allowing her to make up her own mind knowing he would be there in support of her🥰😘🥰. Oh yes Brandi and Seth had some steamy smutty scenes🥵🔥🥵.
This was a great short read of a woman who had enough and decided to take control of her life and I loved how she got back at him😊.
Is it that I'm 36 and my name is Brandi... Well add an e on the end. Lol I loved this book too!! 0 spelling errors but I did start reading this when I woke up lol. I really really loved this book. It doesn't hit home or anything but it was just that freaking good. Lol got me thinking about getting a pool boy. Great job!!
As traumatizing as this book is to read it’s actually a really good story. Think of it like a lifetime movie unfolding through the words of an author. You’ve got the main character the character savior and the bad guy.
The cover is nice…that is the only positive thing I have to say. The storyline was weak and the lead characters were not likable. I was very disappointed because her other books were really gid
This was a wonderfully written story from beginning to end. I like how the heroine took back her freedom. Sad about a section at the end. And what the hero at the end did makes me a little scared of him.
The plot was really interesting, and I loved the character development. However, some elements of dialogue kinda annoyed me, especially the music symbolism, yet it’s still worth reading.
