I’m faced with four gorgeous men, handpicked by my late father to be my alpha mates. Sounds great, right? Only one problem, they're a pack with violent pasts.
There’s Kai, the crazy incubus demon with all the sex appeal. Ty, the sweet but morose vampire. Lance, the unfriendly but captivating were-wolf. And their leader, Daniel, the cocky but dangerously handsome fae.
Seriously, dad, what were you thinking?
I spent my whole life using witch magic to stop the change to omega from happening, but when my father dies, my spells dry up and my heat is coming. Fast. I refuse to be a weak omega who gets abused by an arrogant alpha.
However, when I’m forced to fight off increasing attacks from demonic forces, I find myself having to rely on the very men I fear to help find out who’s behind the attacks and stop them.
And, as if I didn’t have enough stress, I’m running out of time to make a decision on the alphas. I definitely don’t want my quickly approaching omega heat making the tough call for me. The guys seem kind of trustworthy, but they could also be behind these attacks to push me towards them.
Sigh, what’s a gal to do?
18+ Reverse Harem Omegaverse Romance. Warning: Violence and LOTS of Smexy Time.
DNF @24% p75/302 Chapter 7 (Billie) Sooo…this writing is not for me y’all. I can’t do it. I was hoping to be able to stick it out so I could see some interaction with the other guys, since I’ve only gotten Kai the incubus so far, and there’s a vamp, a werewolf, and a fae prince..but I just can’t with the repetition and the unnecessary explanations. They keep using the phrase ‘becoming an omega’ or something along those lines, that’s probably not exactly it, but the point is they keep talking about her omega status like it’s some transformation that’s gonna overcome her, and change her whole person. Like. Why? She IS an omega. The only thing that they’re talking about happening is her heat and being more aware of the instincts that accompany being an omega. She’s not gonna be a whole new being. It was just frustrating and annoying. Plus. Um. What the hell is this plot so far? Everyone’s so worried about her going into heat and ‘becoming’ an omega, but let’s just go to another country and relax for no real purpose or reason and do absolutely NOTHING…? What??! I’m so done. Just no. Nope. Not for me.
What I loved best about "Love and Bonds" is the diversity. Billie is a powerful witch and an Omega. For years Billie has used magic to keep her from transitioning into an a Omega but after the death of her father; the spell begins to die out and Billie's heat is fast approaching.
Before his death Billie's father took it upon himself to find Billie 3 suitable Alpha Mates to protect and care for her. Alpha Kai the playful, lovable and sarcastic Incubus, Alpha Ty the introverted, shy, kind and solemn Vampire, Alpha Lance the brooding, protective, awkward and intense Werewolf and lastly Alpha Daniel the charming, charismatic, suave Fae.
This book had a deeper meaning. Billie hated being an Omega. She hated the fact that Omega's had no control over themselves when in the presence of Alphas and most importantly she did not want to me owned, breeded and abused by an Alpha.
Billie had preconceived opinions about Alphas which caused her to keep the guys at arms length. Her prejudice caused her to be blind to the hearts of Kai, Ty, Lance and Daniel even though they had already chosen her. When demons began attacking Billie she has no choice but run to the very men she is trying to avoid.
The question is; can her Alphas keep her safe or are they the ones behind the demon attacks in a ploy to make her chose them? Or will they step up to be the Alphas she never knew she needed?
This was an enjoyable read about Love, Acceptance, Hope, Redemption, Second Chances and Loving the skin you're in.
✨ARC Review ✨Releases Sept.20 First off the cover is amazing so I JUMPED at this ARC sign up. Second, nothing makes me happier than knowing that the author has more books on the works. I want good books so I’m not rushing her per say, but I’m respectfully going to camping out in her DMs. Now on to the story this is a why choose with a Black FMC and a DIVERSE harem. It is paranormal omegaverse romance so allll the goodies. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. It starts off a little slow and Billie is a lot annoying. But once she stops being stubborn for the hell of it, the story really started to come to life for me. She was so funny and likable when she was in her “horny haze.” I loved how the author took the time to clearly define the guy’s personalities and go through the process of them actually dating, even if it wasn’t in a traditional way. Cooper never relied on the bond to establish the relationships and I LOVED that the guy who claims her first isn’t the head of the pack. It’s the guy she has the strongest feelings for. The only thing that kept this from being a 5⭐️ is that pacing and some things with Billie in the beginning of the story that were inconsistent so it would take me out of the story. And the ending. I won’t say won’t cause I already feel like I’ve given to many details. But I’m so excited for this book to come out, I know some ladies this book is going to make very happy!!
Billie (FMC) is not a normal Omega in regards that shes not submissive but strong in her own right with her magic to back her up. After her father's death she finds out he had plans for her to join a pack of Alpha's that he had chosen - Kai, Lance, Daniel and Ty. Alpha's that have all had a chequered past which has tainted them in some way. Still they were sweet in their own way especially Vampire Ty. Billie was sassy, sweet and engaging. I loved that she stuck to her morals and didnt settle for the first pack. It was a pretty good read with characters that i really liked
I enjoyed this author’s take on the Alpha/Omega genre. The main female character doesn’t want her omega status and spends much of the book fighting her designation. It was great seeing that the main character was a person of colour. The story was interesting, although I figured out who the villain was by halfway through the book. That being said, the plot was engaging.
Billie is a witch, a healer, a doctor and an omega. She hates her designation with a passion and wants nothing to do with any alphas. She doesn’t want to be owned and treated like a possession, only good for breeding and most likely mistreated by an alpha. Billies father passed away and she must come to terms with her omega side because he has left some precautions behind for her that include a selection of alphas that can keep her safe. When she meets Lance, Daniel, Kai and Ty she senses something different about them. With threats from demons, the alphas offer her their protection and their bodies for her impending heat. Billie knows she must compromise. Lots of action, plenty of steam and with an Incubus, Vampire, Werewolf and a Fae it’s got a variety that keeps you entertained. This ends with a HFN and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I enjoyed this book a lot! Our FMC Billie is basically just coming into being an Omega at an older age than most. After her father's passing, the magic alone just can't hold it back anymore. Billie is set against to conform to societal norms, and she refuses to have the "need" for an Alpha and wants to maintain her independence.
Before his death, her father chose a pack of Alphas that he thought would be ideal. So, when Billie is forced to turn into the one thing she hates most, she decides theirs no harm in meeting these men. With her coven leader at odds against them and trying to sway Billie in a different direction, her hackles are raised.
When Billie meets Kai, Ty, Daniel and Lance...there's just something about them...something almost too perfect. When Demons start popping up randomly to attack and kidnap Billie, the guys volunteer themselves (even if she doesn't end up pick them) to protect her.
Her heat is coming. She hates having to need anyone else to help soothe her own body. Demons are at every corner and her magic is only getting stronger. Can the guys keep her safe when they couldn't keep their original Omega safe? Would she just be someone's sloppy seconds? Who is sending these demons after her!?
This book was great. I enjoyed the storyline. Although it was ultimately a slow burn, the spice does not disappoint. I enjoyed how it ended. It definitely ended on a HFN with a continuation for the next installment to be about their pack and about her magic. I am looking forward to it.
*Overall 4.5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Spicy, but ultimately a slow burn *Multiple first person POV *Incubus, Vampire, Fae and Werewolf/Lycon and Witch *MFMMM *Ends on HFN
"Time's a ticking" Time is ticking for Billie, an Omega and a witch who has been cloaked by a spell to delay and hide the fact that she is an Omega. After the death of her father it is becoming clear that the spell is wearing off and her heat is approaching. To Billie the thought of taking an Alpha is distasteful as she has seen Omegas been treated cruelly by Alphas and like property whereas she would want a partnership where she would be treated as an equal. As her heat quickly approaches it looks like Billie has to make a choice, either take an Alpha or check into an Omega centre to help her through her heat. I really loved this Omegaverse story. I connected with the main characters quickly and really enjoyed the story. The best friend relationship between Billie and Lila provided a few chuckles with the comments mainly from Lila and there was plenty of action and excitement (incuding the steamy kind). The ending says The End ...for now. To me it looks like that could be a teaser of more to follow although it did look to me like Billie's story was more or less concluded. Maybe Lila will get her own story although that wouldnt be omegaverse as Lila was a Beta and not an Omega. If there is a follow up, I will read it whatever form it takes as I would really like to read more from this really talented author.
Love and Bonds by Liz Cooper showcases a female main character, who is bound and determined to live her life her way no matter what. When her father dies, she is faced with change. She's not ready for that, but life doesn't care. She meets the alphas that her father had picked for her to meet, but while she's attracted to them, let's just say she's far less than "gung-ho" about having anything to deal with them for a hot minute. But what's a girl to do when she's facing a lot of attacks and her heat is coming which will rip all choice out of her hands. This book is definitely packed with steamy tasty scenes and I'm loving the variety of men across the spectrum. That right there is a whole ball of yes, please! LOL! I wasn't too keen on Billie's attitude about a lot of things. I get it, she wants to be a strong independent woman, but she didn't need to try and have a choke-hold on everything and when things start unraveling flip out on people. Own your stuff girl. Own it all. Please and thank you. The book is pretty fast-paced which kept me engaged. You get a "for now" ending, so maybe we'll see more of these characters in the future despite the "HEA" for right now? I kinda hope so. I'm rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Fantasy RH, omega/alpha dynamic, touch her and you die trope
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I am dying for the next book! This book kept me so engaged I couldn’t put the book down towards the last half.
The story starts out sad with Billie losing her father and now she’s starting to change into her omega. She needs to find an alpha to bond with, and quickly. Luckily her dad hand picked four alphas to be her mates, trouble is Billie is a very stubborn and independent woman who doesn’t want to give into her animalistic instinct and accept being an omega and getting claimed. Ty, Kai, Daniel, and Lance must win her over because they’ve already fallen in love with her.
I loved how the spice builds throughout the book and it didn’t distract from the plot. And oh my gosh it is worth the wait, trust me!
Billie was a very strong FMC, as a doctor and healing witch I loved her care for others. However, denying her omega side put her in a world of trouble. My favorite from her pack was Ty because he is just so sweet with a hint of badass. Her stubborn need for independence was a little irritating at times but I’m glad she had a strong will as she needed it in the end. As the demon attacks on Billie escalated, I became suspicious of everyone (except her eventual pack) and when it was revealed who was behind it I not as shocked as I thought I would be. This was a very entertaining and fun read. Though I don’t read omega verse stories a lot, I found myself really liking this one mostly because of Billie’s refusal to let her omega instincts override everything.
Love and Bonds is a paranormal omegaverse and I quite enjoyed the mash of the two together. Billie is a doctor and a witch who’s been hiding her omega side for years but with her father now dead, finds herself having to deal with her omega side now that she can’t suppress the change. Leave it to her dad to have a plan to keep his daughter safe and have an alpha pack all picked out for her though. Kai, Ty, Lance and Daniel are all ready and very willing to protect Billie while letting her decide if she wants to bond to them or not. Twists, turns, steam and a enemy hiding in the shadows had me unable to put this book down. Definitely recommend giving this book a read and I look forward to more books from the author.
There are a whole lot of paranormal goodies packed into Love and Bonds. The background information and characters were well thought out and described throughout the book which gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into visualizing each component of the book. Plus we get multi-POV which only adds to the depth of the story. Billie is such a strong FMC that needs a true connection in order to reach those final steps with her potential alphas. Because of this we get a little bit of steam and a massive amount of delicious tension between her and the guys. To top it all off, there were some fantastic fights against some not so nice Demons which pushed the story forward and left me beyond eager for more!
Love and Bonds by Liz Cooper is a fast-paced paranormal reverse harem omegaverse romance. Billie Bellamy is a strong-willed and determined omega witch. She is a doctor at a local hospital and uses her powers to heal others. She recently lost her beloved father and learns about the alpha pack he chose to protect her after his passing. Billie is an omega that has suppressed her scent and heat using magic. Her heat is approaching and being an unclaimed omega is dangerous. She reluctantly faces the four men her father chose but refuses to accept her status and let her hormones control her life. She wants to keep her autonomy and choose her own mate when she’s ready. The alphas selected by Billie’s father are — Kai; the charming incubus demon alpha, Ty; the sweet but sullen vampire, Daniel; the confident fae prince, and Lance; the broody unfriendly werewolf. These men must protect Billie from demon attacks and an upcoming heat, but she certainly doesn’t make it easy for them.
I love how fiercely independent Billie is. The author did a great job writing a strong independent heroine. She doesn’t back down and each of the men have to prove their respect, trust, and desire for her. They understand that she is her own person and should be respected. She’s not just there to sate their desires like so many other alphas believe omegas are only worthy for. Lance was the least likable guy in the harem but he became my favorite once he finally stopped being a jerk. Billie was able to develop a bond with each of the men in the harem separately which was great.
Imagine being an Omega and having to choose your Alpha mate for life based on a group of men (a pack) that your father selected for you. There's Kai (demon, but a whole lot of fun) Lance (Werewolf tense and brooding), Daniel (Fae, way too perfect), and Ty (Vampire, nerdy and shy) Billie (a powerful witch and healer)has NEVER wanted to be an Omega and especially does not want to be mated to an Alpha, let alone a pack of Alphas. But as her protection spell (placed by her recently deceased father) begins to fade and her change is fast approaching. She has to make a choice and fast because once she goes into HEAT every Alpha near by will be attracted to her. And the pain will be unbearable. Will she take her father's recommendations on a pack. Or let other around her set her up with potential Perfect Alphas. But it gets more complicated because now she's being attacked and as her pack of potential Alphas strive to protect her she's forced to get to know each of them and maybe just maybe she'll start to like them too. This book was so good, I didn't want to put it down The characters made you love them all. Kai and his sense of humor won me over IMMEDIATELY. And Billie learns that everyone who says they are in your corner are absolutely NOT.
Love the interracial relationships, the paranormal genre and finally have the main character as a black woman. I get to read from a perspective that I understand
Oh Billie how she annoyed me. Sighs. Billie is a 30 year old Omega whose father had recently passed away when the book opens. The world she lives in a lot of times doesn't allow Omegas as many rights but their Alpha partners do and are often brutal and can beat or mistreat their Omegas. Alphas and Omegas can be from any class of paranormal or human, the Alphas being stronger but less numerous, however when Alphas and Omegas bond together, they're stronger collectively. Since Billie learned she was an Omega at 16, her father had been hiding her status with magic. With his death and Billie on her own with a pending heat cycle coming that will toss Alphas into their feelings, and she with them, it's imperative that she make a good choice as to her future. That she took so long and stubbornly refused to consider the Alphas felt so childish and like she was throwing a tantrum.
Billie's father chose an Alpha group for her before his death, but she refused to meet them because she was so set on being independent. Even though Omegas went into heat, her alternative was a facility set up specifically for Omegas where the Omega could choose to ride it out with some magical/medicinal help that didn't really do much, or allow a resident Alpha to relieve them. There's pheromones and talk of scenting, an Alpha being able to scent an Omega when they're close to the heat and yet Billie stubbornly stands on her independence leg. So frustrating just how recalcitrant she is when it comes to the men her father chose and this idea about how she's expected to be submissive without meeting an Alpha with the intent of joining with them for herself. To me, she was an annoying mix of I'm trying to be an Alpha and can do things myself, and I refuse to bow down to the restrictions that are Omegas. Made even more annoying by the fact that in the end she made the relationship what it needed to be. Duh.
Anyway, the guys are all different. My favorite was probably Ty the vampire because he's a good mix of sweet dominant. Kai is a demon and she meets him first when he invades her apartment to guard Billie after her father's death. Lance is the werewolf, apparently just this side of sane. Daniel is the fae, sophisticated, well dressed, and the leader of the group. We didn't get enough of the history of each man in this book, we only get a little teaser and the elephant in the room where their previous Omega was killed. It could've used a bit more in that respect.
There's zero grief for Billie's dead father that carries to the second chapter in this book. That Billie is a doctor was mentioned and then nothing since she takes time off to grieve then suddenly she's working, it felt kind of misplaced. Maybe had there been more talk about her job leading up to her return, it wouldn't have felt so sudden. I called it early as to the culprit for the demon kidnapping attempts on Billie and I didn't like what the author did with Anil's character at the end of the book. Yes, Anil was exactly the kind of Alpha that Billie didn't want but why the need to add a desire from him to make Billie his by force was poorly done I thought, especially since just prior we learn that he was being forced in his actions, didn't like the woman controlling him, and had healed Billie's injuries. Made no sense to me.
Overall, it was different and a page turner but felt it could've been drawn out a little more and it would've been that much better. It needs more descriptions of the characters, better word choice, and to slow down but I thought it was decent, a 2.5.
Love and Bonds is the first book in the Love and Bonds series by author Liz Cooper (aka CC Solomon). This is a multiple perspective paranormal omegaverse that is filled with supernaturals, magic, alphas, and omegas of course.
By all means, Billie Bellamy is a great character. She is intelligent, a doctor (and healer), and a strong magic user. Billie is compassionate, caring, a great friend, and is close with her family but she annoyed the heck out of me the entire book, she kinda made the story drag. Billie is a doctor so she knows about omegas but she refuses to accept her own reality as an omega due to fear and that fear drives her to have an irrational thought process. I love that Billie is strong and capable but I wish she didn't let social stigmas color her thoughts.
The alphas in this story have a shady (and dark past) but they are really a bunch of good guys now. Daniel is the leader so he stays strong for his pack, Ty is dark but adorable, Lance is the brooding type, and Kai is the playful one who secretly worries about everyone. Their all a little bit broken due to the trauma in their past but they do their best to prove to Billie that they will make good alphas for her. The patience and caring they show her is sweet even if they had their stalker moments.
Liz has created an interesting world. I've read a lot of omegaverses and they all vary and I do enjoy it when the paranormal omegaverse includes all supernaturals, not just the shifters. Liz hinted at the other supernaturals in ABO order but in this one, she concentrated on the magic users. The covens, magic terrorist groups, power plays, and coven politics were all included in the story. It was interesting seeing how omegas play in coven politics, I've never seen it played out that way before, where omegas have all the power and none of it all at once. Liz also did a pretty good job building up the culture and laws surrounding omegas and alphas in the US while also hinting at other countries.
Love and Bonds was a good read. Paranormal or not, I'm a sucker for a good omegaverse. The story had a happy ending, it could be complete or Billie's story could continue, I have no idea what Liz is gonna do but I'll be checking out the next book in the series when it releases.
3.5 ⭐️. Billie is a powerful witch who’s father has recently passed. In addition to being a witch, Billie is also an omega. In the world Billie lives in, omegas require an alpha (especially rare witch/omega combinations). Up until her father died, he was able to cloak her omega status and all the physical attributes that would have alphas take notice. Her father knew that he wouldn’t be able to hide her for long and made it his mission to find her the perfect alpha pack to protect her. Kai (an incubus demon), Lance (a werewolf), Ty (a vampire), and Daniel (a Fae).
She’s dead set on living life without an alpha until she randomly gets attacked by demons. The pack her father chose for her begs to protect her even if she doesn’t want to be claimed. Billie accepts their protection as things start to get more and more dangerous and intense. Where are these demons coming from? Can the pack be trusted? Are they behind the attacks?
I absolutely loved each member of the pack. They were all so sweet but absolutely deadly. They have definitely been added to my collection of book boyfriends.
The beginning of the book seemed to move a little slow. There was minimal action and was just her living a normal day to day life. When things started to pick up it seemed like it was moving super fast. Although the author tried to throw in questionable character behavior, the villain was fairly obvious.
I would have liked for there to have been more included on the dark mages…some sort of personal attack or interaction with the characters mentioned. It would have strengthened the reasoning for the actions of the villain (for me). Without it, they just seemed like they being a villain for the sake of being a villain.
I enjoyed the chemistry between the MCs and enjoyed the story overall. I was definitely entertained and wanted to keep reading “just one more chapter.”
I went into this really wanting to love it, but spent most of the book absolutely annoyed by Billie.
First, the positives...
The mystery was good. I saw the betrayal coming but didn't realize the depth of it. I enjoyed the POV from the guys, they were not conflicted in the same nonsensical way as Billie. The writing was solid, maybe a time or two I would've been more careful with the respect to 'Dr Bellamy,' not 'Ms.' I will read another book from this author with the hope that her other books don't rely on such silly, self-made issues. Of which I'll rant about below, but there will be spoilers...
She is an intelligent doctor, but spends more than half the book absolutely refusing to accept facts. I just did not understand her.
She loved and admired her father, and knew he had selected a pack for her, but refused to meet them while he was alive. This would've been helpful for two reasons:
1 - she could've asked her father all of her questions about his decision that she kept asking herself for 60%+ of the book.
2- she could've had a chance to get to know the guys without a looming countdown to her heat. She knew when her father died his spell would fail, and yet, she resolutely ignored facts. Whyyyyyy?! She's a doctor, shouldn't there be some logic behind her processes?
She knew if she stayed unclaimed she would be at risk for the rest of her life, but put off making any decisions until she had no choice but to go with one of the two options presented to her (obv option A was the only choice). She could've felt so much better about the entire thing if she hadn't procrastinated. Ugh, /end rant.
Also, on a thirsty note, you have four men to one female and not one threesome or greater. Not even any tail play from Kai, as was considered in his POV at one point. Sad.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I agree for the most part with the blurb, but not with everything.
The book starts with the funeral of Billie's father. From there you learn a few things about her. She is in the transition towards and omega, has been for years. She and her father have tried to stop it and when that didn't work, they slowed the process down as much as they could. Billie's father knew that there would be no escaping from her fate as an Omega. The safest way to be an Omega is to be claimed by safe alphas. So that's what her father has been looking for and he found them. Only Billie was still trying to live in denial so she had refused to meet them all that time. Until the funeral, well it wasn't really her choice really. She had been close to her heat for a while now and the spell hiding her Omega status was unravelling. So in the blurb it sounds like her only problem is that the pack has a violent past, but I don't think that Billie actually found that a problem. Her father knew about their past and he still picked them so she put her trust in that. The problem that she really had is that she didn't want to be an omega and she was afraid of losing control.
I really like the book. It really sucked me in right from the start. Then in the mid part I lost a bit of interest because there was so much smut, but after that I was immediately back into the story. Nice thing about the ending is that there is not cliff hanger, I really really liked that. It doesn't need a cliff hanger, because I'm curious enough to wonder about what will happen next.
Last thing that I wanted to mention was that I love Kai's humour. He actually had me laughing out loud at one point.
This book was different and had a witch become an omega. But it was still a gret read. Her alphas are different supernatural species that have very different personalities but they all go well together. I like how it starts with Billie and her omega status and how she really feels about it. How she thinks it will change her being a strong FMC and how she felt about the alphas. All of them had different feelings about each other, but my favorite alpha is Ty. He is so down to earth and romantic. He is a vampire but the way he treats Billie with respect makes you want to swoon. Now don't get me wrong, I love all the men but something about Ty gets me in the heart. Probably because he can be vulnerable yet still become a strong vampire. Billie and Ty really connected on a personal level. And you can see that from when they first meet.
Like I said before, I really like all the guys but Ty is my favorite. And who could forget her quirky beta best friend. She's a hoot and feels like you want her to be your friend or sister. Overall, this book is filled with lots of twists and turns. So who is sending these demons after Billie and why? Will that mystery be solved? Will she accept her omega status and these hot alpha men as her pack/harem? What about the hot werewolf shifter Lance...will he want Billie or make a bad choice and walk away? You'll have to read to find out. Great read and ready for the next book in the series.
Love and Bonds: A Reverse Harem Omegaverse Romance by Liz E. Cooper was a fabulous dip into a new omegaverse world that was utterly captivating!
Our FMC Billie, is a strong independent women that is trying desperately to fight the stereotypical rules and rankings placed on omegas, and is working as a doctor where she can use her knowledge and powers to help those in need. Knowing how omegas are viewed as less than in her society, Billie has worked hard to hide her status until sudden changes in her life, and the passing of her father, make it impossible to stay hidden any more. Especially with the arrival of four sexy men that were specifically handpicked by her father to be her alphas…
And even though she tries hard to fight against it, Kai, Ty, Lance and Daniel have no reservations and will do anything to keep and protect Billie—even if they have their own issues they’re dealing with as well. And when other outside forces seem set on hurting their omega, things definitely start to heat up!
I absolutely loved their chemistry and the heat, and loved how divers these characters were and how they all came together. This story was a unique take on the traditional omegaverse dynamic and I loved how Cooper masterfully wove their stories together.
If you’re a fan of paranormal omegaverse romances that are packed full of spicy heat, hot sexy alphas, vampires, werewolves, fae, demons and more then this is the one for you!
The good: Plot is there and has all the working parts. The characters are distinctive and have names that don't get confusing. This is important to get right and I appreciate it a lot in this kind of story.
And here's my stream of consciousness thoughts as I went. I'm somewhat ill and might feel more charitable later:
Just over 50% and I don't feel one bit sorry for this character. She's powerful, grew up privileged, had a parent until she was 30 who loved her. So she's an omega, boo hoo. She had over a decade to come to terms with it and isn't beholden to anyone.
"I get it. I’m not a sympathetic character." Oh look, she's even aware of it. It's like she's never had to make a hard choice in her life and now she's just floating along until crunch time.
Some of the action doesn't quite make sense. Like that couch scene reads like the author isn't overly familiar with that particular act or the logistics of performing it while sitting side by side. Getting further into the scene and I'm questioning if the author has any personal experience or has just read a lot of smut.
Flag on the play for overuse of the word spot.
"Maybe subconsciously I wanted it". Oof, maybe we don't use that phrase in the context of doing things without consent.
Did Lila get body snatched? Because that's a big personality drift from the beginning with Kai and omega stuff. Oh nevermind, she's just incredibly inconsistent for no reason that's explained.
