Skillfully shifting between online and in-person learning has become expected of teachers. In this essential guide, you will learn how to harness technology to enhance student learning in both realms. Combining theory, reflection, and personal experience, author Catlin R. Tucker equips educators with a wide variety of strategies and tools to support student and educator success in blended environments and beyond.
I’d give this a solid 3.5 stars. It may be lower because of my particular position. I teach a foreign language, and like so many other books on this topic, it just doesn’t ever use languages as an example nor does it talk more specifically about a course that is skill based, not concept/big idea based. So much of a language will never be stumbled upon by a curious learner because we don’t have a direct equivalent in English. So although this book has good ideas, they’re just too vague for me to easily transpose over to my area.
Tons of practical application ideas. I first picked it up before I had much blended learning structure in my classroom and it was a bit too much. Now that I implement a much more student-led classroom it is easy to find more/better ideas in here to supplement and expand what I'm doing.
Depends where you are with your learning on this topic. I agree with everything in the book, it would be a great starter book for someone new to the idea
COVID has reshaped the educational experience. This book is a helpful resource for educators to develop a more blended classroom and give students more control over their learning experience.
This book was an amazing resource to broaden your ability to use technology in the classroom for more then just doing a digital assignment like a worksheet.
Great overview of BL- very thorough for those new to BL jut also a nice review for those wanting a refresher. Well organized, easy to read, and tons of examples, ideas, and templates.
