Thea Jenson has her future meticulously planned out. Graduate from college. Get a job. Marry her high school sweetheart and have two beautiful children. When she decides to transfer schools, her brother suggests she move in with him and his unruly hockey roommates. Everything in her life is going according to her plan . . .

. . . until she bumps into Kyler in their kitchen and sparks fly.

Kyler Rose, the starting center for the Northport University hockey team, is done for the moment he lays his eyes on Thea. But he can’t allow her to become a distraction. He’s determined to make it to the NHL. That’s if he doesn’t get booted for failing grades first. And even though he’s on scholarship, it doesn’t pay his bills or provide for his family. Neither do the tips he earns from his bartending gig. When an offer to make some fast cash falls in his lap, he takes it, thinking no one will care if he gets hurt . . .

. . . except Thea does care.

But just as Kyler finds a way to navigate his feelings for Thea, an unexpected link to his family comes to light and he finds himself in the fight of his life to protect those he loves the most - his family.

When Thea finds herself attending the same university as her brother she now finds herself living with him and three of his friends/teammates. The convenient arrangement is about to take a turn when she becomes attracted to Kyler, one of her roommates, despite the fact that she has a boyfriend.

Kyler has been warned by Thea’s brother that they can be nothing more than friends which he didn’t expect to be a problem until he met her. He needs to focus on school and hockey as his family is depending on him but his feelings for her might just be the one challenge he can’t overcome.

Kyler has a lot going on in his life and Thea was there by his side through it all as they take us on a romantic and emotional ride with some surprises along the way.

Tropes: Hockey romance, forced proximity, best friends sister

Thea moves into a Hockey house to be closer to college which happens to be with her brother and his 3 teammates. What could possibly go wrong? Immediately she finds herself building a friendship with all of her new roommates minus the elusive Kyler. Even though Thea has her long time boyfriend back at home, she can’t deny the chemistry they share.

Kyler has his hands full being a student, a hockey player and trying to keep his family afloat finically. He doesn’t have time for a relationship, and doesn’t really find himself wanting one. Until he meets you guessed it Thea. She’s off limits, she lives with him, she his best friends little sister, but he can’t seem to keep his eyes (and magnificent arms) to himself!

This hockey romance has everything you could want, bromances and banter between the guys, a spicy forbidden relationship, and twist and turns you don’t see coming! Let’s not forget it the arm porn 😏

Thea moves into a hockey house to be closer to the college with her brother & three of his teammates, and seriously, what could possibly go wrong (LOL)?! Well, despite the fact that her brother has given the hands off warning, there's one young man in the house, Kyler, who could make things complicated. He knows he can't do anything, and she has a boyfriend, but they start really getting closer & closer so the sparks are flying like crazy. Of course this is the point when I start to get that anxious feeling in my stomach as you already know secrets don't stay secrets for long, and this one's a doozy of course because of bro code LOL! I loved the teammates all together as they made me laugh with their antics, not to mention, who doesn't love some sexy hockey players amirite?! The forbidden aspect makes it sexier of course but there's an element that I never saw coming on top of all this goodness. Darby Blake & Sienna Ray did an outstanding job with this story, but since I know Darby Blake's real name, well, I wasn't shocked of course. To see how it all plays out, and trust me you want to know, you know what to do as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This book was everything. It had Hockey, forced proximity, and brothers best friend. It also had arm porn! In order to understand that, you must read the book! I absolutely loved Thea and Kyler. If you like any of the tropes that were mentioned, this book is definitely for you! It was such a great book and I can’t wait to read more from both of these authors! This book had me laughing at times but still made me feel for the characters!

Great debut by this writing due. Close proximity, brothers best friend trope. Thea joins her brother at his university and moves into the house he and his teammates share. She gets along with them all very well and her brother is happy to have her.

Housemate Kyler is a bit standoffish but Thea is drawn to him. As they get closer, secrets come out. Thea's ex is horrendous. I can't even imagine what she say in him in the first place. I don't think he changed just as she moved away to school.

Twist, turns and some tension. The heart knows what it wants, though and these two were destined to be together. Can't wait to catch up with them later on should the series continue.

What a debut!

This book has something for everyone with its multi-trope premise—hockey romance, best friend’s sister, and forced proximity! Thea changes her major and her school, which leads her to move into her brother’s hockey house with him and 3 of his teammates, much to her boyfriend’s dismay. Thea meets everyone but Kyler, the elusive enigma, right away. When they do meet, there is an instant attraction and connection that must be denied and avoided at all costs. Kyler lives a very difficult and complicated life, trying to make something of himself, while financially supporting his mom, sister, and niece. Watching Kyler and Thea dance around each other was a lot of fun. The chemistry between them was like an extra character with a life of its own. I’m a sucker for world building in a book. How authentic are the characters and their interactions? That is top notch in this book. It would be a blast to live in that house with the banter and antics of the guys, and yet they treat Thea well. The hockey action scenes are great. The scenes involving Lacey melt your heart. The book flows well, with plot twists that pop up and other things going on in the background with other characters that leave the reader with questions, which is a great way to set up for an intriguing series! The emotions are real, the funny moments are gold, and the love scenes melt your screen!! I’m definitely interested in reading more about these characters! I’m invested in all of them!

If you are a lover of sports romances with all the feels then you are absolutely not going to want to miss Everything We Are by Darby Blake and Sienna Ray . I do not even have the right words to express how much I simply adored every single moment of Kyler and Thea’s emotional rollercoaster of a love story . Forced proximity, best friends sister , forbidden, and hockey . So many of my favorite tropes wrapped into a storyline that is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat from one moment to the next , not to mention all the different emotions it is definitely going to stir in you . I’m not going to give any details away about the storyline but what I will say is that I was not prepared for how quickly I was going to fall in love with both Kyler and Thea , In fact I ended up staying up so late because I could not stop reading, Everything We Are is definitely on my list of top ten favorite books .

When Thea makes the decision to switch colleges and move into a dorm room with 3 other men she doesn't expect to starting falling for one of her roommates. Kyler is the complete opposite of Thea's current boyfriend Adam. He is working to support not only himself, but his mom, sister, and niece with the hope to one day make it to the NHL. Kyler has it guard up from the moment Thea moves in, but quickly learns there is something about this girl. Adam, Thea current boyfriend is the rich popular boy. He has everything he wants and his falling in his father's footsteps to eventually take over the family business. When Thea is made to make a decision who will she choose? The boyfriend of 4 years the man who is secretly winning her over. It won't be easy with whatever choice she makes and the twists and turns had me unable to put the book down. Read Everything We Are to find out who Thea ends up choosing.

Thea always though she had her life perfectly planned out for herself, until it is not, and changing schools, her brother offers her a place to stay with him and his roommates, which she accepts. Kyler is the starting forward for Northport University hockey team, and he is also Thea’s brothers’ best friends. Kyler is not looking for any relationships as he has his hands full with trying to keep his family afloat. The sparks fly between these two, and the chemistry intense between them. This is a well written story which is fun, sweet, emotionally charged, and with family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more form this duo of authors, and I recommend their work.

I have to say from the start this one was pretty predictable. I guessed what would happen with Thea and Adam, especially Adam's behavior with Thea gone. Knew Thea would fall for one of the roommates. Knew who Lacey's father would be and why there was no child support. I'm glad that things there turned out good.

Kyler was the only surprise and not that big of one. He really was trying to help his family, while still trying to his best at school and hockey. Throw Thea in there and things got sticky fast. I really liked that when these two finally ended up together they didn't just fall into bed, but more that they got to know each other better and really date. It was funny when they were outed to the rest of the house. I was glad that after a bump, they managed to work things out and just be happy together.

Everything We Are was a good read. Thea thought she had everything planned out, but then she decided to change her major and college. She's going to the same college as her older brother, Jude, so she goes to live with him and his three roommates and hockey mates. Kyler is one of her roommates. He keeps to himself and has a lot going on in his life. Thea and Kyler have a connection, but he has a lot going on and has no room for distractions or relationships. When the story starts, Thea has a boyfriend, Adam. Adam is a jerk, and I was like, how many pages do I have to read until they break up. There's a twist that you may figure out before it comes out in the story, but the way it comes out and shocking. I was so rooting for Thea and Kyler.

When Thea moves into her brother's hockey house the last thing she ever thought would happen is that one of his roommates catches her eye. The moment Kyler sees Thea he feels an instant connection, but the baggage he carries cannot involve her. She is too good to be brought down. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Can Kyler open up to including Thea in his life? Or will the attraction be too tremulous for the entire team? With wonderfully written characters and an outstanding story filled with emotion and heart this was an awesome read.

Everything we are…sweet,sexy and fun!!
When Thea decides to change majors and move to a new school with her brother..she is in for quite a surprise. With her relationship on the rocks with Adam, she takes notice of her brothers roommate Kyler. As it turns out Kyler is also her brothers best friend. When they start having some late night meetings Thea realizes she really likes Kyler. Kyler has some issues of his own and certainly doesn’t want to get involved with anyone…especially his friends sister. Pick up this book to see how it all plays out…you won’t be disappointed.

This sports romance novel definitely sparked my interest when I read the synopsis. It combines two of my favorite tropes, so I went in with high expectations.

Kyler and Thea’s chemistry was off the charts. I really liked the progression of their relationship. The angst was spot on, and the side characters were also a lot of fun to read about.

The only hard thing is that it kind of started off slow for me. I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed, and I would have liked to see the ending a little bit more flushed out. I don’t want to spoil anything, but this was a really good read! ❤

Darby Blake and Sienna Ray have a game-winner with EVERYTHING WE ARE. In this story, Thea Jenson transfers schools when she decides to switch her major from prelaw to nutrition and diet. She will attend the University of Northport and live with her brother Jude and three of his hockey teammates. Her and her boyfriend of four years, Adam Nelson, decide to pursue a long-distance relationship. She befriends her brooding roommate Kyler Rose, which Adam does not accept.

Thea is a wonderful heroine. She grows a lot through this novel. I have a nephew named Kyler, so of course I instantly liked this character. He is a mysterious loner. He is on scholarship. He is a star player on the hockey team. He is a bartender to make additional money to help his family and pay for essentials. Kyler is really devoted to his sister Ally, niece Lacey, and his mom. He is protective of the people he loves.

EVERYTHING WE ARE is a heartwarming a realistic story. It has interesting twists and is attention grabbing from start to finish. I love how the characters in the story are intertwined. I would love to see a sequel to this story with Thea’s friend Millie Kennedy and their roommate Nolan Fisher. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

These two ladies did an amazing job. The writing flowed perfectly and I couldn't put this book down. I loved how the characters each tell a story. They are complex and the emotions poured from the pages. Love is never easy especially with your brother's best friend and your roommate. The angst and humor really added to this amazing story. This is one book you don't want to miss.

Very good book! Loved the concept with a typical broody bad boy with a sweet side. I loved the plot twist and of course the hockey. Definitely a great read!

I absolutely adored this forbidden romance. Thea has changed her major, joining her brother at Northport University. She will be sharing a house with her brother and a bunch of hockey players. Her brother has put his roommates on notice. Thea is off limits. Thea having a boyfriend, Adam, only makes her more unobtainable. Gotta wonder how she is going to survive with all those stinky hockey players.

The authors gave me a college hockey team to cheer for making my day even brighter. The dynamics between the players sharing the house is a joy to read about. Thea fits in perfectly and gets along with most of them. Kyler is a different story. Did I mention forbidden romance? How about living in denial? Kyler and his issues makes for a great story. Watching him fight his emotions was great fun. When I didn't think things could get worse, the authors proved me wrong.

06/21/22 I couldn't resist staying up and reading this again after it landed on my E-reader last night. So worth the lack of sleep.

I must thank them for giving me Adam to hate. I can't remember the last time I detested a character as much as Adam. He made for great conflicts and some super creepy moments, which I must was very entertaining. I don't think that man could redeem himself if he tried.

Thankfully the story has a wonderful happily ever after and it doesn't include Adam. Washing my eyes in bleach has been avoided. Heart palpitations and awes can fill my night. Everything We Are is one those books that left me smiling, feeling good and counting down to the next book.
