It's always a good time when I get to travel back to Maple Hills. Valencia and Dakari are nice additions to this series. Their love story was so stinkin’ sweet. Unbeknownst to the other, Valencia and Dakari were secretly crushin’ on each other when they were in high school but, circumstances out of their control prevented them from being together. Fast forward several years later, they meet up again, purely by happenstance, through a dating app. Valencia is ready to find her forever but, Dakari isn’t sure he's quite there yet since he’s fresh out of a divorce. His hot and cold behavior confuses Valencia and pushes her away. After a tough love conversation with his sister, Dakari pulls out all the romantic stops to get back in her good graces. A Blind Encounter is a sweet second chance romance that will give you all the small town feels. I loved that we got to catch up with Amara and Amaya. It’s good to see the bakery and the candle shop are still thriving. I really enjoyed this couple. I hope this isn’t the last we hear from them.
I enjoyed this story….there was a bit of back and forth…the crazy thing was….there was sparks between the two almost immediately….but, Valencia & Dakari simply needed to get on the same page at the same time….the eventually resolved their issues and got it together.
I loved the return of Maple hills. Valencia was tied of the dried up dating pool when she decided to try a dating app. Who would of thought that young crushes would link up? After a little tug of war with Dakari and his feelings he pulled no stops when securing his woman. I loved this read it was short and sweet and just what I needed. I can’t wait for more of Maple Hills.
Another sweet romance in Maple Hills, is always a treat! Valencia was ready for real love, and decided to try her luck with a dating app. Who does she get paired with? Dakari, her high school crush. What are the odds? Dakari, newly divorced, is not ready to hit the dating scene. But, his older sister is pushy, and he finally agrees. Valencia and Dakari were shocked to see the other, and were not sure what to make of the encounter. Valencia was willing to give it a go, as long as Dakari was. But, his back and forth was pushing her away. That green eyed bandit, got a hold of Dakari, and gave him some act right! Cute read! 👍👍👍
I loved Dakari and Valencia! Such a pure honest love. You honestly dont know that an old flame can turn out to be your forever. Leave the door open especially the heart!
All the back and forth was a bit annoying, yet I liked Dakari and Valencia.
I understood Dakaris' hesitance to start something with Valencia after his not so great marriage and divorce from his ex, Kelsey. Yet once he worked through his issues, he was all in. I like that his sister Tammy pushed for him to move on bc he deserved happiness.
Valencia was a sweetheart and I'm glad she didn't give up on finding her 'one', even with her bad dates from the past. Once she and Dakari laid out how they've had a crush on each other since high school, I was hoping they'd move right into a relationship or more exclusive dating, yet he wasn't ready and she accepted that. I don't care for them just hooking up, given that she said she was over that. I like that she didn't just sit and wait for him to get himself together. Once he fully opened up to her and surprised her with the picnic, I was certain she was all in. I can see these two being with each other for a lifetime.
I definitely need an update on these two. Maple Hills has grown on me quickly and I need more asap.
Valencia was so ready for love that she chose to look her person via a dating app. Dakari wasn’t looking for love at all. However thanks to his meddling sister he agrees to a blind date where he is reunited with his high school crush who also had a small crush on him, the irony right.
The two hit it on off but played the back and forth game for a minute, a minute too long if you ask me. I get that Valencia was skeptical because Dakari did admit that he wasn’t looking for anything serious and then quickly changed his mind. He experienced something with her in that short amount of time that he hadn’t experienced before. Finally they get it together and I want more from them ❤️
This story was one of the sweetest stories that I have read in a while! Valencia and Dakari crushed on each other in high school and have now found their way to each other. I liked the way that he showed her his intentions rather than just talked about it. He definitely is bae! Thank you Ms. Tay Mo’Nae! Please continue their story and keep us in Maple Hills! I love Maple Hills! Awesome read!
Valencia always had a crush on Dakari since high school. They were crushing on each. Tammy is the meddling sister who intentions were good. Valencia and Kelsey was like night and day. Dakari like that she had plans for the future. He was hatin on her because had a date and it wasn't with him jealousy got the best of him. Grace don't like anybody. The Brown's made one of her dreams come true and Dakari would make her other two come true.
I totally missed that this was a novella until I finished like wait I want more! This was such a good read! Dakari was on my nerves with his indecisiveness but he quickly got it together and I was on his side...but initially I was giving him the side-eye! But I loved that Valencia didn't just wait around for him, she kept it moving although it was him that she wanted! That got him in order really quickly!
Dakari and Valencia were placed on a blind date by fate. They faced a few obstacles, but realized they wanted to be together. He definitely didn't want to see her dating other people. She couldn't handle being rejected by him. Wish there was more about their love story. Great read!
For such a small place, Maple Hills has a lot going on. Tay Mo’Nae is really doing her thing with these short novellas. This short, sweet, well written story brought Valencia and Dakari together on a blind date and love blossomed from there. Absolutely loved reading this book and would definitely recommend it to read.
Dakari & Valencia fit together from the beginning. He tried to play tough but that date broke him down😂 The description of the blind date gave a wonderful mental picture. Dakari's ex-wife sounds like a real piece of work & I'm glad he left her because he deserved better.
I rushed through reading this book and it was really interesting but I hated the ending. It left me wanting more and abruptly ended with so many questions. I wanted their love to exist and soar as passionately as the connection grew. It is hated to say who I'd recommend this book to right now because it left we wanting more.
This story is very realistic and believable. The characters are the perfect balance of what I look for. Nothing over the top, simple and to the point. I was looking forward to any time that I had a break at work to finish this. If I could give this more than 5 stars when I will.
This was such a sweet and lighthearted book. It was cute that they crushed on each other in high school and then found each other via a dating app. I also love how intentional Dakari was he didn’t only talk he showed action. This is one of the sweetest love stories I’ve read in a while. Kudos Tay.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5| 🌶️🌶️🌶️ This was a cute short story. The story line was very realistic and had the best small town vibes. The story moves pretty quickly but at the same time gives you full scenes which I appreciated. Can’t wait to read more from this Maple Hills setting! 💖
Valencia & Dakari were a small rollercoaster. They both compared the other to previous relationships but slowly realized they were completely different. He did have a moment where he didn’t reassure & he just appeared so heartbroken. She also could’ve caught harder sooner. I’m glad they got it together. Good quick read.
This was a quick sweet read but Valencia and Dakari got on my nerves , each being so indecisive.. you know what you want but to scared to go for it just nerve racking but still a good read
Dakari and Valencia ... He just needed a little push the ex-wife didn't really want him she just didn't want anyone else to have him. The chemistry was there between them, good book
Valencia and Dakari have known each other since High school! He married the wrong one but now that he's divorced he gets another chance to get with the girl of his dreams and he does! This was a cute quick read! I enjoyed it!
I love these quick reads by Tay. The people in Maple Hills do not disappoint. Dakari and Valencia were cute and admitted what they felt now and then. Nosey sister for the win.
Super cute quick read. The picnic was a fun little twist on a blind date, especially with Maple Hills being a small town. I liked the “what if” part of the story. Now they dragged the will they-won’t they to the very last second but it worked! It was an easy and sweet little weekend read!
