I love this book. Not only did I enjoy the illustrations, I learned interesting new information about my favorite four-legged friends. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about cats, but this book was filled with things I did not know and was surprised to learn. This book was fun and a complete pleasure. Started off loving this as it's a pretty scrapbook with digestible tidbits of information. It's aimed at cat people in the USA and has a lot of information about buying from breeders, seeing vets and so on. Ideal for a new cat lover who is into pedigrees.

I loved the balanced advice on basic diet, toys, grooming, and cat behaviour. It's nicely written and because of the index, very easy for quick access.

I don't like the pedigree industry, so that didn't sit well with me. The advice that a decent breeder replaces a sick kitten was a strong no-no. I also did not like the advice that cats can be boxed up when inconvenient. You don't do this to kids, so why do it to animals?

It was still a good guide at that point but then there were the pages about cruelty to cats throughout the ages that ended with a drawing of an cat on a pole about to be burned alive.

I've no idea what Ms Gage or the publisher were thinking. I can't recommend this book to kids or teens.

An overall 4 but those pages were a 1.

Excellent guide to felines written in short bullet points anf broken into topics. I found the scrapbook design to be attractive and pleasing while complementing the information provided. As a cat lover, I own many books, and have read many more, about them. This book would be a useful addition to any library from neophyte to experienced cat owner. I recognize some reviewers objections to the inclusion of breeders, as opposed to rescue adoptions. However its inclusion speaks to the cause of completeness.I did not find it objectionable even though ALL my cats have been rescues. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Some very interesting and new facts but didn't like the obvious stuff that was included and all the talk of breeders and breeder cats!! Shouldn't be promoting cat shopping we have so many cats in shelters wtf

I definitely learned a lot from this book. I'm not sure if I agree with everything it says as my kittens act differently, but maybe I just have weird kittens. I wasn't as interested in the breed information as I was in the behavior and training sections. I don't know anyone that has a purebred cat. I don't think it's as common in my area as purebred dogs. #AmazingCatFactsandTrivia #NetGalley

There’s a ton of information in this book, with lots of oddball cat history and trivia. Some people may take issue with some stances like saying that there are benefits to cats being inside or outside, and a preoccupation with cat breeds and buying from breeders. I was also saddened by the trivia facts about things like different popes ordering all cats to be burned alive, a French town that had an annual festival involving throwing cats off towers and stuff like that. A lot of it is about big cats, cats in history, wives tales, etc. As mentioned, it is very fixated on breeds, buying cats from breeders, what kinds of breeds to buy for this trait or that trait, etc. There is a lot of random interesting trivia for cat lovers though.

I learned some useful information about cats from this book, as well as plenty of fun trivia facts. The graphics were engaging and kept my eyes busy as well as my mind as I read. While much of the advice covers basics that I already knew, there is definitely something for everyone as it covered a wide array of topics, advice, and history. It doesn't need to be read in order- just flip to a page and discover what there is to be found! It is an entertaining book as well as helpful, and long enough to keep the reader occupied for several reading sessions.

A lot more than the expected trivia book, this covers cats from ancient Egypt to Hollywood, but also packs in a welter of information about the species – their habits, their biology, and what we should be doing to look after them in our homes. Yes, if you've read books of cat trivia before some of this will be familiar, and if you are an expert owner some will be preaching to the converted, but of the amount of books on this subject this is by far the most encyclopaedic I've seen. For the right owner, really something to cherish. And for the animals concerned, too detailed as regards their health and well-being to ever really be called trivia. Four and a half stars.

I recently posted on this title’s companion book about dogs. Again, readers will find a cornucopia filled with everything that they could want to know about this popular pet. Read about breeds, the cat’s senses, mind & behavior, general care, training tips and so much more.

This title is sure to enjoyed by auilurophiles and others. The photos alone make this book so appealing and yet they are just part of it. There is loads of practical advice here.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Books with cat facts and trivia are always interesting for the crazy cat ladies and cat gentlemen out there. We are such fascinating creatures and this book is filled with fun bits and bobs. There are some important facts so that the reader knows what to do and why to do it. We cats have such an arduous task of training our humans with much remedial work required. A book like this could be an important resource for our human minions.

It is also filled with lots of fun stuff and some great pictures. Four purrs and two paws up.

Both I and my cat-loving child enjoyed this book thoroughly! There is just the right amount of information, and just the right ratio of text to pictures, to keep this exciting and fun read. Also, we loved that there were real cat facts in the book, not just fun tidbits. Also, there is quite a lot of useful information in there if you happen to be a cat owner, even if you think you already know everything there ever is to know about cats!

A lovely book filled with cat trivia and facts. Would make an ideal gift for a cat lover and can be dipped into countless times. This book is American, so some of the words used are slightly different from UK terminology but this makes no difference to the enjoyment of this book! I loved all the little titbits of facts dotted throughout the book, as well as breed descriptions and cat care advice. Purrfect!

As I cat lover and furmom to 4 cats myself I loved this book! It went from the basics of breed, behaviors, nutrition to more in depth topics such as caring for cats with disabilities. This is an amazing book filled with tons of valuable information for not only beginners but also seasoned cat owners. I highly recommend!

This is a very okay read for me. It provided lots of information about cats, even though most of it are kind of not new anymore for cat parents like I am. I think this would be more beneficial to people who haven't had a pet yet, especially a cat, who are contemplating if they should care for one.

I have 5 cats in my household, 3 adults and 2 kittens. This was a very useful book for me to dig into, it actually explained and answered some of my questions as to why my cats act certain ways and why one of them will only eat in a certain location. This is a great read for anyone who owns cats and is interested in learning much more about feline friends!

What a fun and diverse book. Great aesthetic layout, lots of color pictures, and a plethora of kitty knowledge!

There was so much information in this book, from the most basic advice for caring for a cat, all the way through obscure factoids and grains of wisdom. Anyone reading this book is bound to walk away better educated and more enlightened by the time they are through.

This book is outstanding. Contains so many short interesting facts about cats of all types - including big cats like tigers etc, Mostly focused on domesticated cats and everyone is sure to learn something. I read this book in electronic format and it was beautifully illustrated -- I need to get the hard copy! A great coffee table book or book for families to peruse.

The target audience of this book is obviously people who love cats. So the fun and interesting info - great. Cat breeds - ok. Cat breeders - unnecessary. Violence or negativity towards cats in any way even a historical reference - unwanted.

Fun to skim through if your looking for something to pass the time. I do hate that the author focuses so much on different breeds and even pushes buying from breeders.

Pretty good book, reading level for kids while still being engaging for anyone who wants to learn more about cats. My biggest gripe is how heavily it focused on breeds of cat and how much the author pushed going to a breeder. There was one sentence about 90% of cats being just regular old cats, so why focus so much on specific types that aren’t applicable to almost anyone reading? The best cats are the ones you find on the street and take home with you, in my experience.
