The curvy and beautiful Eme Stonewell is the alpha’s daughter. She believes in fated mates and happily-ever-afters, but that’s not what is in store for her. In order to keep the rogues from taking over the territory, the Brook Mountain Pack and Stonewell Pack must create an alliance. That alliance comes in the form of Eme mating – imprinting – with the Brook Mountain Alpha, Logan Brook.
Not only is Logan Brook the Brook Mountain Alpha, but he’s the Head Alpha of all the United States packs. He needs this alliance between the packs to help maintain his campaign. He doesn’t mind that he has to imprint with the alpha’s daughter. In fact, he finds her stunning. But he has one problem. She wants absolutely nothing to do with him, and she isn’t afraid to say it.
Without the mating, there is no alliance. How is he going to convince her that he’s a decent guy – that he might be her happily-ever-after after all?
Emeline is gonna be given away to Brook Mountain Pack's alpha Logan for an alliance between her father Lee's pack and her new alpha's. Most shifters find their mates, but Eme can't cause she is her father Lee's only daughter, and he needs her for the alliance. Eme plans to not fall for Logan just in case she finds her mate cause Eme believes in happy ever afters. Logan finds Eme beautiful, and he doesn't mind that he has to imprint with the alpha's daughter Eme, but the only problem is Eme isn't makin it easy for Logan but without the imprinting the alliance won't take place and they all need this alliance so the Rouge shifters doesn't try to take over their territory. Eme knows if she imprints with Logan, she will be givin up any chance of finding her mate cause once Logan and Eme imprint, he will be her mate, not her true mate. But Logan will have to get to know Eme because they have to imprint soon so that the alliance will go throu. Eme she loves to paint, Draven is the head enforcer, Wayne is the beta, and Val she is the cook and has a huge crush on Wayne. Logan has so much patience with Eme but their time is runnin short for her to decide what she wants to do, and Logan has lots to take care of on top of worrying if Eme is gonna imprint with him. This book is good and I can't wait to read the next one.
I do like the new cover of Reject Me, I like the colours and the imagery but I’ll be honest I also really liked the previous book cover. Which book cover would make me more likely to pick it up from a bookstore shelf? Truthfully either cover would make me pick up the book to learn more.
The book begins with a nervous, reluctance, rather idealistic, Emeline Stonewall, only daughter of Lee Stonewell, Alpha of the Stonewell pack. Emeline’s or Eme as she prefers to be called has her cases packed and her life is about to change for forever. An alliance between the Stonewell pack and the Brook Mountain pack has been made, they need each other to have the power, wolf/man number and money to defeat the increasing number of rogue wolves congregating on the flats area that controls the city which has necessary amenities and supplies their pack need. To seal the alliance Eme Stonewell is to become the mate/marry the Alpha of the Brook Mountain pack. Logan Brook is not only the Brook Mountain pack Alpha, he is also Head US Alpha too, meaning it is an extremely prestigious match for Eme as well as a political one. Logan Brook is a more modern Alpha and doesn’t always do things the old way. He prefers to ask questions, give warnings and second chances than to just kill those that step out of line. This more modern side to Logan and his patience and his caring nature are what eventually break the walls that Eme has built up. Eme is more idealistic and wanted the fairytale true mate experience that hardly ever happens these days. Though Eme has sex with Logan she refuses to allow him to bite her and claim her as his mate. Though Eme is reluctant to be claimed she wants to be involved in managing the pack and all that entails. Some pack members are shocked to see Eme has not yet been claimed by Logan whilst others are more used to the different way Logan does things so just accept the situation as it is. One person who doesn’t accept the situation at all is Dillon, Eme’s obsessed ex, who thinks Eme has been stolen away from him. Eme’s father Lee is not pleased that Eme has not yet been claimed fully and issues an ultimatum, if they have not performed the bonding by the end of the week, Eme will have to return to the Stonewell pack and there will be no alliance! Emeline is surprised that Logan doesn’t force her to be claimed and I think partly for that reason she begins to relax and allow herself to start to get to know him more.
If that isn’t enough for Eme and Logan to be dealing with it soon becomes apparent that the rogue wolves are causing issues, with the increasingly plentiful supply of a drug for shifters called “wolfcalm”, though it certainly doesn't 'calm' the wolf it makes them crazy, deranged & looking for a fight! There is also someone encroaching on Brook Mountain territory whenever they feel like it whilst avoiding the many patrols in place, meaning they may have a inside connection with the Brook Mountain pack. So, there’s a Brook Mountain pack traitor to be found and dealt with too. When a young boy almost dies after taking Wolf Calm, Eme’s father Lee turns up to see if he can help in anyway and to see for himself if his daughter and Logan have performed the bonding yet. He reiterates his ultimatum about Eme having to return to Stonewell.
Throughout all the drama and upset Eme proves herself easily capable of running the Brook Mountain pack at Logans side, even taking an attack by his jealous ex Becca in her stride. When Eme and Logan put aside the rather large elephant in the room that they should have mate bonded they realise they have a lot in common and like a lot of the same things. It is the match making help of Logan’s inner circle of pack members that eventually help the couple come together and perform the mate bond. With advice from Beta Wayne on how to woo Eme, and then him joining the Alpha’s cook Val and Head Enforcer Draven to create the perfect atmosphere for the couple to finally bond.
Characters I loved were of course Eme and Logan, but I also immediately adored Val, Wayne and Draven. I found it highly amusing that Wayne was giving advice on wooing a mate to Logan and was quite oblivious the Val who is clearly besotted with Wayne! I also loved the character of Draven who came across like a big brother to Eme, helping her settle in as well as teasing her and welcoming her to the pack. I hope there's a suitably cute & curvy potential mate for Draven in bk2. I also had an instant soft spot for Viola and Clark. Characters I enjoyed disliking were Dillon and Becca, the obsessive ex-partners who thought they should be with Eme and Logan, and just couldn’t help themselves from trying to interfere.
My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were Oh Wow! I haven’t sat and read a book in just one day for a while and I can’t wait to read more, but at the same time I don’t want my journey with these characters to end!
Summing up Reject Me by DV Fischer is the first book in the Brook Mountain duology and I loved it! I hated having to put this one down (even when my washing machine broke & needed attention!). The only negative I have is that it’s only a duology, I would have loved exploring more of this world and its characters!
For the first third of the book I could not stand the FMC at all. I was like girl get over yourself immediately because you are doing the absolute most. I love Logan from the beginning though like he was just perfect boyfriend material. But as the book went on I started to warm up to the FMC and I love all the side characters except for the ones that were evil obviously. My only major disappointment with the book is that it was in third person I hate third person with a passion is takes me so long to mentally get into the books that are in third person. But looking forward to book two.
Eme Stonewell is the curvy and beautiful alpha's daughter. Eme still believes in fated mates and happily-ever-afters, but unfortunately, that's not what's in store for her.
The Brook Mountain Pack has to make some difficult decisions in order to stop the rogues from taking over all their territory and one of the choices the Brook Mountain Pack makes is to ally with the Stonewell Pack. And that alliance has to come in the form of Eme mating, or imprinting, with the Brook Mountain Alpha, Logan Brook.
But, there's more to Logan Brook than just being the Alpha of the Brook Mountain Pack, he's actually the Head Alpha of the entire United States packs. Logan needs this alliance between the two packs to help maintain his campaign. Logan doesn't mind imprinting on Eme. The truth is he finds her to be absolutely stunning. But, there is just one problem. Eme wants nothing whatsoever to do with Logan, and she's not afraid to say it.
If there's no mating, there's no alliance. How can Logan convince her that he's actually a decent guy – and that he might just be able to be her happily-ever-after after all?
Reject Him is book 1 in the Brook Mountain Duet by D.V. Fischer.
At the beginning of this book, we get to meet the reluctant Emeline Stonewall who is nervous, reluctant, and somewhat idealistic. Emeline is the only daughter of Lee Stonewell, Lee is the Alpha of the Stonewell pack. Emeline (Eme as she prefers to be called) already has her cases packed and ready to go. She knows that her life is going to change forever.
The Brook Mountain Pack and the Stonewell Pack have cemented an alliance, they have realized that they need each other to have the power, wolf/man number, and of course the money to defeat the increasing number of rogue wolves who are congregating on the flats area that controls the city which has all the necessary amenities and all the supplies that their pack needs.
In order to complete the alliance Eme Stonewell must become the bonded mate of the Alpha of the Brook Mountain Pack Logan Brook. Logan isn't only the Alpha of the Brook Mountain Pack though, he's also the Head US Alpha. This means that the match between Logan and Eme is not only very prestigious but it is also an extremely political as well.
Alpha Logan isn't like most Pack Alphas. He's actually more of a modern Alpha and he doesn't always adhere to the old ways of doing things. Logan will often prefer to ask questions, give out warnings, and he'll even give out second chances over just out and out k!lling those who disobey the rules. With Logan having this modern side, you see that he has a more patient and caring side to him, and it's this side that eventually starts to break down the walls that Eme has built up around herself over the years.
Eme isn't like Logan and is far more idealistic. She's the kind who's always wanted that fairytale, true mate experience, the kind of experience that rarely happens these days. Even though Eme does submit to Logan and they do have s*x, but she refuses to allow him to bite her thus claiming her as his mate.
Even though Eme is not ready to be claimed, she does want to have a hand in managing the pack and everything that goes into that. There are those pack members who are surprised when they see Eme hasn't yet been claimed by Logan and then there are those who just shrug as they are used to the way that Logan does things and are unbothered by it.
The one person who is not happy and doesn't accept the situation at all is Dillion. Dillion is Eme's obsessed ex who believes wholeheartedly that Eme has been taken by force from him. Eme's dad Lee is far from happy that his daughter Eme has not yet been fully claimed by Logan and he issues Eme and Logan an ultimatum, they can either complete their bonding by the end of the week or Eme will return to the Stonewell pack and the alliance is off.
Eme is shocked when Logan doesn't force her to allow him to claim her. My impression was that he did this for two reasons. 1) He wanted to give Eme a chance to get to know him better so 2) she would be comfortable and relaxed when he claimed her.
As if this isn't enough pressure to put on Logan and Eme, they soon are forced to realize that the rogue wolves are ramping up and causing more issues, and the supply of the shifter drug called “wolfcalm” is becoming not only more popular but the supply is increasing their hands full.
Eme also learns that someone is pushing the boundaries on Brook Mountain territory whenever they want to and they are managing to avoid all the patrols that have been put in place, and this is proving that they very well could have some kind of connection to someone inside Brook Mountain Pack. This hints that there could be a traitor inside of Brook Mountain Pack and that person has to be dealt with now as well.
It's after a young boy takes wolfcalm and nearly dies that Eme's father Lee shows up to see if Logan and Eme have finally completed their bonding yet. Upon finding that they have failed to finalize their bonding, he reminds them both of his ultimatum.
Throughout the first half of this duet despite all the ups and downs, the drama, and upset that Eme goes through, Eme still proves that she is capable of standing next to Logan and helping to run the Brook Mountain Pack, even after Logan's jealous ex Becca attacks her, Eme is still able to take everything in stride, keep her cool, and do what she needs to do.
The more that Eme and Logan talk and set aside the alliance and her father's threat to force her back to his pack, they start to realize everything that they really do have in common, and that they enjoy the same things, and that the reality is they really should complete their mate bond.
Logan's pack actually does a lot to help in pushing Eme and Logan together and in the end completing their mate bond. Logan's Beta Wayne actually gives Logan advice on how to sweet Eme off her feet and then helps Logan's cook Val and Logan's Head Enforcer Draven perfect the right atmosphere for Logan and Eme to finally come together, bond, and finalize their mate bond.
I just fell in love with Eme, she was just my girl from the very beginning. But, I couldn't help but love Logan and the way he pulled away from the old school way of doing things and started trying to modernize a more stranded way of doing things in a pack. At the same time though I found that I just adored Val, Wayne, and even Draven at the same time. I laughed at Wayne trying to give advice on trying to woo a mate. And you could tell that Val is absolutely in love with Wayne and would bond with him in a second. And I loved the way that Draven either tried to be or at least he came across as trying to be a big brother to Eme, and I adored the way that he did his best to try and help her settle into her new pack, welcomed her into her new pack, and would tease her just like a big brother would. I really hope that Draven gets his own beautiful and of course cuvy mate in bk. 2. And of course, I have this soft spot in my heart for Viola and Clark. They are just so likeable.
Of course, with the characters that I loved/liked, there were also the characters that I really didn't like. Of course, the first ones are Dillion and Becca the two obsessive and jealous exes who think they are the ones who should be with Eme and Logan and dislike that they have been set aside. And because of their feelings of being discarded and feeling of being wronged, they just can't help but interfere and try and get back together with the partners they think they belong with.
I will typically sit and read a book in a single day and this first book of the Brook Mountain duet was no different. I fell in love with the story, the setting, the plot, and sub-plots. I feel like the characters are more like friends now and while I could have sat here and continued to read and finished the 2nd book of this duet, I can honestly say I didn't do that because I wasn't ready to end this story and I just wasn't ready to say goodbye to these characters who have become more like friends.
I highly recommend Reject Him the 1st book of this duet. I just loved this book and I can't wait to dive into the next book and continue to journey and find out what happens next.
It is kind of fitting that I am doing a review of a D.V. Ficsher book at this time as it was this time last year that I first got into book reviewing and it was a D.V. Ficsher book that was the first book that I reviewed and got me started. And I haven't stopped since.
This is a lovely sweet and spicy wolf shifter romance by DV Fischer; one I've really enjoyed reading and would recommend. Plenty of plot, fated mates, alliances, danger, desire, love, romance and plenty of spice. I loved the character development between the main characters and seeing the romance grow between them.
Eme has always wanted to find her fated mate but for an alliance to work between her father's pack and the biggest she is being mated to the Head Alpha. She's against it as she doesn't know him.
Logan needs the alliance to keep the packs strong so they can fight the rogues. He doesn't mind having to imprint/mate with the Stonewell Alpha's daughter, particularly after meeting her as he finds both he and his wolf are happy to have her as a mate. His only problem is that she's against it and he's going to need to work out how to get her to give him a chance to prove himself.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have loved DV’s books ever since I started reading them! As a plus-size girl, it is refreshing to see that representation! When I first started reading these two books, I was sure I was going to love them. Though at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about Eme. She knows what’s on the line with the alliance between the two packs, but she doesn’t really give Logan a fair shot at the beginning. As the story goes on though, I loved seeing her grow and change—it really made me like her so much more. Logan, on the other hand, I loved from page one. His personality just shines all the way through. This book is full of action, drama, and suspense, with some twists I honestly didn’t see coming. The ending was perfect, and since I have the box set, I love that I can jump right into the next book without waiting!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed this book and Fischer’s writing style—it flowed easily. The plot is rather simplistic and the book moves fast, maybe too fast in places.
I liked both main characters, Eme and Logan. Eme, the Alpha’s daughter, is stubborn and headstrong without being a pushover, which I found refreshing. At the same time, she’s also shy for a dominant wolf. Logan, on the other hand, completely stole my heart—he’s a fair and just Alpha, and honestly such a sweetheart. Together, Eme and Logan are cute but I would have liked to have connected more with them.
I enjoyed the pack members; their humor and banter added a nice balance to the story and made the pack dynamics fun to read about.
Would have liked an epilogue.
I’m off to read Book 2
Thank you to the author for the ARC—this is my honest review.
Another great start to a duet by D.V. Fischer! What a wolf always wants in life is to find their true mate, and this is what Eme has always wished for. SO when she is given to the Alpha of The Brook Mountain Pack, she finds it difficult to give herself to him. As Logan and Eme meet, she realises that she may have to mate to someone she doesn't know and is definitely not her true mate. This is Eme and Logan's story. As it unfolds as all stories go, there has to be some twists and turns in the plot. And this story does not disappoint! An ex of Logans doesn't like that he has chosen someone new to be his mate. An ex of Eme's full of an obsession for her and wants Logan gone. An overall quick easy read and the mating call for both Logan and Eme finally wins out and they get their HEA.
Emma & Logan are going to be mated to form an alliance that benefits both of their packs. I liked this book but for the first 1/3 of the book I really wanted to slap Emma. I understand that she wasn't happy about how her life was chosen for her but I felt that she was being whiny & dramatic instead of trying to make the best of the situation. Logan was in the same situation as Emma and he was more willing to be understanding and give Emma the time & grace that she needed & let her get to know him.
This book is good & I really loved Logan and Emma's chemistry. This book does have plenty of drama & danger and I am glad that I read this book. This is a different genre than I am used to reading from DV Fischer but overall it is a good book.
I am normally not into the wolf/alpha/pack genres of books. That being said I went into this book a little hesitant but knowing DVs writing style I had hope I would like it. Turns out I loved it! The overall plot and story outweighs the “wolf” component so it is a great story overall.
The wolf pieces are important for the story but not over killed. The characters development for a short read was spectacular. What is great about all of her duo series is how the story and plot continues into the next book right where you left off! I am excited to read book 2 to see how it all ends!!!
Starting out at first I did not care for our FMC, Eme. Her actions are very questionable in the beginning, she knows what needs to be done, but she isn’t really giving Logan a fair chance. And I just loved Logan. But, I will saw she has some major character growth as the story progresses and she grows on me as the story progresses. She is destined to be with Logan, she just isn’t ready to bond with him, she barely knows him. And Logan, that man has all the patience in the world and he wants to show her he is worth trusting.
This story was fast paced, some spice, drama, a plus sized FMC and shifting.
Reject Him by DV Fischer Book 1 🐺 Reject Him is a curvy girl shifter romance, my first! It was good. I liked the fact that it wasn’t instant love for them and that Eme fought against the fated mates. Eme is headstrong, stubborn, alpha and it was refreshing to see that type of character. Maybe too stubborn at times, lol but what woman isn’t?! Logan is the best, everything you would want in an alpha!
It is def a quicker read and I do wish to have some places not be so quick, have a little more info given. I loved all the pack members, what they were fighting against; it gave a nice problem to have and it not just be about their fated mates. 4 ⭐️
Okay, so right off the bat there is spice and it immediately peaks your interest and pulls you into the story. HOWEVER, the FMC was insufferable for a good chunk of the book for me. I found myself wanting to know other secondary characters more as I felt she lacked development and flipped too easily after having her whole temper tantrum. That being said, I know it's a shorter read that is very fast paced so I gave some grace there. The storyline was one I enjoyed, albeit predictable. I was a bit disappointed there wasnt a lot of shifting or their wolf characters. That being said, If you like romance, shifters, he falls first tropes you will enjoy this book.
Great characters. Epic story and a book not to be missed.
I started out reading this and was having mixed feelings with Eme and her actions. She knows from the beginning what is involved in creating the alliance between the two packs but she doesn’t really give Logan a chance. But, as the story continues we see changes in her that really has me loving her character. I loved Logan’s character from the beginning. He has a great personality that shines through the story the entire time. There is a ton of action, drama and suspense. There are some twists and turns that actually surprised me. I loved how it ends.
Eme, the Alpha’s daughter, is destined to mate with Head Alpha Logan to secure an alliance—but she isn’t ready to bond with someone she barely knows. Logan, patient and protective, refuses to force her and is determined to show he’s worth her trust.
D.V. Fischer delivers another swoony, curvy-girl romance full of tension, heart, and fast-paced chemistry. Watching Eme and Logan grow, clash, and find common ground is a thrilling ride of strong wills and undeniable sparks.
Rejection or acceptance, but the key here is, the choice was always the FMCs to make. With pressure from outside the pair of main characters, do you accept the bond and fulfill an alliance or do you wait for a HEA that may never come. A well written story, allowing for character growth and the emotional development needed to ensure it's not forced, this book was very enjoyable. Decent world building with an underlying storyline that continues into Book 2 which helps with continuity and makes this easy to read.
Great new series brought to us from the very talented D. V. Fisher.
Everyone is used to the fated mate stories. But what about the majority of the shifters, those who never meet their fated mate?
That is what Eme is facing. But worse, she's a pawn in a political alliance. Can she give Logan a chance? Or will she simply reject him, hoping fate has someone else in store for her?
D.V. Fischer has delivered another great curvy girl romance. This is a quick read so it is fast-paced. Watching the two grow and learn, the plot thicken and the world growing is a great ride. Emeline "Eme" is going to be the good daughter and accept that things are out of her control to a point. Logan is trying to do what is good for his people. When they meet in the middle no 2 stronger heads have met.
Eme is the Alpha’s daughter of her pack and she is supposed to mate with Logan who is the Head alpha. When they were to mate she stated she didn’t want to do it since she didn’t know him..swoon he said he wouldn’t force her to do anything she wasn’t comfortable with. The mating was for an alliance between their packs, but Logan liked her from the beginning and will give her the time she needs to see he is a guy worth her time.
Ok this is a short read but I liked it. Does give more of mates being picked instead of fated mates. So that's a different there! I loved how Logan respected Eme a lot. He didn't want to push her or make her pick fast. Which you don't get to much in shifter books! There is a twist in there that I did not fully see coming. So that was interesting and totally catch me off guard. I do want to know who is supplying those drugs and can't wait to start book two!
I am a sucker for wolf shifter romances and DV Fischer has done a great job with Reject Him. It is an interesting story, not only following the blossoming relationship between Emeline and Logan which originated from an alliance, it also has an interesting plot about situations surrounding the pack, I also enjoyed the side characters. All in all this was an enjoyable read and recommend to all those that enjoy wolf shifter romances
I loved every minute of this book!Emme and Logan make a great pair. Even if isn’t ready to bond with him. I loved that she was such a strong character and Logan was so patient and understanding with her. I loved how the drama unfolded. The twists and the turns. Even the asses in this book bright character to it and made it so real. I can’t wait to move in to the second half. This one had me turning the pages like there were on fire lol
DV just has a way of pulling you right from the start. It starts out with some spice and that alpha falling hard but not the FMC. It took her some time but it was fast paced like shifter romances are and it was the perfect amount of spice and plot. It left it open for the 2nd one which I devoured the next day!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another great read by D.V. Fischer. This is a plus-size wolf Shifter romance. We meet our FMC Eme who has to mate with Logan our MMC for an alliance. She really wasn't too keen on the idea and had dreams of meeting her fated mate. There is a plot and a bit of delightful spice. Great short read.
Eme is the alpha's daughter and wants that gated mates fairy tale love but he father needs to mate with the alpha from another pack to form an alliance. Logan doesn't want to force her but knows how important this is. Both packs have rouge wolves they have to deal with. Can Eme learn to open up to Logan?
This was a short and sweet shifter romance. I really enjoyed it. Eme and Logan’s story was fast paced, but really they were on a time limit so I enjoyed that. I’m not a shifter, so who am I to judge how fast or slow they fall for each other.
The spice scenes were good, not overly winded and just enough detail to enjoy. I’m sure if it was a longer novel there would be more. But I’m not complaining at all about what we got, I enjoyed.
DV has an amazing writing style, I’ve always loved it. With this being an earlier writing I really did enjoy the book.
The story follows Eme who is an alphas daughter she is quickly married off to Logan who is an Alpha from another pack they need the alliance for both packs
Logan is such a sweet soul i love how he lets her take her time and doesnt force her into anything shes not comfortable with
Alot goes on in this book i loved every minute of it i cant wait to finish book 2
I love how DV Fischer uses plus sized fmc's in her works, as a plus sized woman I feel so represented.
Now about this book, who doesn't love an alphahole? Logan, the Alpha of the Brook Mountain Pack, and our fmc Eme mate to form an alliance. We watch their relationship transform from one of reluctance to something much more pleasurable.
