She’s off limits and I’ve never been allowed to want her.
And I shouldn’t be having these feelings. But there’s no way I can resist her.
Our families have been feuding long before we were born. That didn’t stop us from sneaking over the fence line growing up. We were best friends. Until one shared smooch at the fair kissing booth. We haven’t talked in twelve years. Last year, a scorned lover burned down the kissing booth. Now we’re forced to work together to resurrect a new kissing booth. Our families are furious. The town is in chaos. And I can’t get those sultry lips out of my head. And I don’t want to. I won’t stop until I’ve claimed her in every possible way.
Lily-Mae Montana is a mother/daughter joint USA TODAY Bestselling pen name duo. Mama Mae and Lil' Lily love writing about curvy women finding their love with hot alpha cowboys. Their stories are short, sweet & steamy.
This novella was really cute. It was short and sweet, and it had all the angsty, forbidden feels I was looking forward when I picked up this book.
The Wildes and the Foxes have been rivals for generations. No one really remembers how it started, but every Fox daughter is told to stay away from the Wilde boys, and vice versa. The problem is that Ford Wilde has been in love with Hope Fox since the second he saw her. After years of fighting off their attraction and failing, he's finally giving in and pursuing forever with the girl he's always wanted.
I would have enjoyed this infinitely more if we could have had more details about their past relationship, their friendship when they were kids and how that turned into a love affair. We're told multiple times it was a well known 'secret' that they got together often as teenagers, but it's never really shown or explained. Also, there's no OW drama, but the mmc marries another girl after he ghosts her when they're teens and by the time the book starts he's divorced. I didn't really like the fact that he used this unnamed OW to try and scape his feelings for Hope, even thought he knew he was in love with someone else. The ex-wife is never shown or commented on, but still.
Hope and Ford's story starts out as being best friends from six till sixteen when she was volutold she was in the kissing booth and the person in line waiting for a kiss was Ford. Fast forward twelve years, they are thrown together to build a new kissing booth and to find their feelings didn't change underneath all the anger she carries and the guilt he carries. But with both side feuding now can they end the feud to be together
Hope and Ford have loved each other since they were teens. One day Ford decided to just up and leave because he thought he was helping but instead it hurt hope the most. While reconnecting their families were still feuding over what their great grandparents were fighting over but no one knew that had nothing to do with why Hope's and Fords dad's are fighting or feuding.
If you've ever heard the tales about the feuding families, the Hatfields and the McCoys, then you're sure to enjoy this book about Hope Fox and Ford Wilde. They've loved each other since childhood, but due to this dumb feud between families that has been going on since before they were born, they were forbidden to be together. Now twelve years later, they are determined to bring their families together so they can stop sneaking around and get to the bottom of this silly feud that has even the townspeople taking sides.
This book is a great start with lots of fodder just ready for a series. Although this is a first book collaboration by Lily and Mae, the writing style seems seamless. Full of humor, heart and heat, it's very enjoyable and I'm very much looking forward to the next in this series!
Hope and Ford's family have been feuding for years. They meet when they were six and became secret friends. As time went by their feelings changed but Ford cut Hope out of his life. The town's kissing booth has been destroyed and needs to be rebuilt and two old ladies see how to get them back together. Can they overcome the feuding families and forge their own path? Good read.
Just finished this short little gem. It is part of a series but each book is a standalone a out a different couple it seems like. This books is less that 200 pages and all the books in the series seems to be this short or close to this short. If you want a good, quick cowboy romance. This is for you. I am most definitely reading the next one. They are fast pace amd pretty spicy. There were several smutty scenes in this short read.
This is a like Romeo and Juliet with cowboys. You hae two rival families who live next door to each other on their farms. The hatred runs deep. Their great, great, great grand parents start the fued. But they are going to try to end it. Hope and Levi were best friends growing up. They were supposed to be since their families were supposed to hate each other. But one day they saw each other through the fence. And they start playing with each other at the age if 6 years old. Their friendship grew and lasted until they were teenagers. Then at the kissing booth at their local town fair, they kissed. It was the best darn kiss for both of them. Or so Hope thought. Until Levi just up and disappeared from her life. After the kiss he was gone. He then needed up marrying someone he didn't actually love or care about who turned out to be a gold digger. And they went their ways. Now, they are getting thrown back together by fate...or just the two town gossips and match makers who are also twins to rebuild the kissing booth that got destroyed.
This is where I stop telling you about the book and where you go an read it. I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. And this was like a novella. Just think if there was more to the story. It would have been even better.
I give this a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars. It is a good quick read and enjoyable for sure. Plus whondoes like a good cowboy romance.

Full Review:
This book was overall very cute and a good quick read, I picked it up after a highly emotional duet and it was an excellent palate cleanser. The premise of the series that there are two town quilters who set up couples like the hands of fate gives a unique entry into our love story. For me the book was a success during the town hall meeting. If you found yourself loving the townies in Gilmore Girls and especially the town hall meetings, this town hits perfectly. The side characters and large families bring humor and color that keeps the story light.
Our two main characters Ford (MMC) and Hope (FMC) grew up on adjacent properties with generations of family feuding. Despite the long history, these two met as children and became best friends, doing their best to hide this friendship from their families. Once they are teens they become tempted to become more, only for that to lead to heartbreak. Twelve years later and the two are thrown back together to discover if history will repeat itself.
If there was anything I would change about this book it is that I think the emotional beats could have hit us a little harder. If we had a flashback or started the book with a chapter set in the time when Ford and Hope were teens and lost each other the first time around, we could see how deep their bond was even then. This would have given us a stronger attachment to them working through the story to be together.
A very cute and easy read from Lily-Mae. The Wilde's and Foxes are sworn enemies and have been, since a feud began dating back to the great grandfathers of both families. Ford Wilde and Hope Fox have been friends and more throughout their childhood and teenage years. But with the families not liking each other, they have to keep it a secret. Ford broke Hope's heart but the "busy bodies" of their town know that they were meant to be together, regardless of the feud. They hatch a plan to get them to work on a project together, the exact thing that broke Hope's heart, a kissing booth. As they are rebuilding the booth, feelings start resurfacing and what they had 12 years ago begins again. Will the family feud that has kept them apart, keep them apart again, or will the truth behind the feud finally allow them to be a couple, and not in secret?
⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 ~ 🌶️ Two kids from feuding families strike up a friendship at a very young age. Levi let's Hope go bc he knew the feud would never end. 12 years later they're made to work on a reconstruction of the town's kissing booth. With the help of 2 elderly trouble causing twins who make "Love Quilts" as their way of matchmaking, Levi and Hope start rekindling what started as a friendship and ended with a kiss at the kissing booth in their younger years. Will the family feud come to an end? Or will they have a shotgun wedding without their families approval?
Cute western novella in a small town with 2 families feuding. Has some content errors but overall a quick romance read for the month of love..
I love this mother/daughter writing duo Lily-Mae Montana. Their stories are fun, humorous, sticky sweet, smoking hot and sizzling sexy but there is also a little sadness at times.
Lily-Mae have found the secret formula that makes great stories great. I am glad that the first three books of The Wilde Brothers of Whiskey Ridge Creek are HOT.
I love the little town where everyone knows everything about everyone. There are quirky characters and a little magic involved. But I will let you get acquainted with everyone all on your lonesome.
Rocky Ridge Creek ✔️forbidden ✔️cowboy romance ⭐️⭐️.5 🌶🌶.5 Characters: Levi and Hope
I picked this one because it was short and wanted to close out the month with one more book. It was quick and spicy and at first was giving Gilmore Girl vibes with the small town element and the bickering at the town hall. There wasn't much in terms of the falling in love. It was a little too quick. The other thing i didn't like was some of the writing in the spicy scenes. Now I understand when readers say they got the ick. It had potential and ultimately accomplished what I was looking for...a quick read.
Forbidden Cowboy is about Ford Wilde and Hope Fox. What makes this story fun is that the Wildes and Foxes have a decades long battle brewing between the two families. The Wilde family is made up of boys and the Foxes are girls. Of course, the eldest in each side became smitten with each other when they were younger but the feud kept them separated. Until now. Can they get their families to overcome this feud and move past it? A wonderful read!
After being destroyed by The Nightingale, I needed a rebound book. I had purchased this on the last romance Stuff Your Kindle event and thought it was a good place to start.
It served its purpose. It was surprisingly short with 178 pages and felt a bit rushed. I think I would’ve actually liked it to be a bit longer and draw out the characters a bit more, but it was cute. No tears here!
A young, hunky man and a beautiful young woman from rival, feuding families find they love each other and will get married and have children whether their parents like it or not. So there!
This is short and sweet. Maybe a little too much of both. It would have been nice to see the romance blossom a little more - this moved pretty fast. And with that, maybe it wouldn't needed to be so saccharine.
This was such a good start to this series. I loved Ford and his determination to get Hope. They have loved each other for so long. Hope is sweet and spunky. I loved the humor in this book. I think I am going to really enjoy this series. What's not to like? Sexy cowboys, A town drunk, A feud that has been going on forever, and a pair of meddling twins! Love it!
"Forbidden Cowboy" (Whiskey Ridge Creek Book 1) by Lily-Mae Montana was a fantastic read. I loved Ford and Hope's story. This story had romance, passion, drama, small-town life, hot cowboys, humor, second chances, family, and more. This was a great start to this series. I can't wait to see what happens next. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, hot cowboys, family, and series.
Hope and Ford are one hot couple once they put aside some hurt feelings from high school. What makes it harder is that there is a feud between families. Two busy body quilters and a kissing booth help to bring this couple the gumption they need to stand up to their families. The brothers and sisters are quite the secondary characters.
Hope and Ford have been cross lines best friends for years. But their families feud tear them apart. But they can't seem to stop their feelings that have developed over the years to be more then just friends. They work hard on helping their families to forgive each other and make their forbidden romance a reality.
Ford Wilde and Hope Fox were best friends since Hope was 6 years old. But there has been a feud between these families for years . Will this feud keep them apart. This is a hilariously story with lots of laughter and a few tears. Steamy and exciting just an excellent story. Loved. It.
Levi was a Wilde and he loved Hope Fox, but their familys were rivals for about four generations. Levi and Hope snuck out to be together and were best friends. Now after twelve years of being away from each other they know that their love never stopped. They have to somehow get their families to get along, because no matter what they were getting married.
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with situations that can be truly believable in life. The two main characters are very likable. I won't say more to not give away spoilers. If you like romance, determination, and small town romance, well as a reader you should most likely love this book. I look forward to reading more by this author. Happy Reading!
Lots of humor, heartbreak, anger and enemies in this story of a family feud that lasts for generations. Only our lovebirds get caught in the middle of it when they fall in love. Lots of cute scenarios happen as they try to get their families together. It eventually happens and they get their HEA.
A really enjoyable small town romance with a family feud and forbidden romance. There are the two sides to every feud but this one has an added secret. Hope and Ford have their work cut out if they want to get their families to accept their love. I look forward to reading more of this series.
This was cute and sexy and everything else needed for a good read! It had a good mix of being a modern smexy romance and a cleaner western from back in the day. I loved the family feed vibes and Quylt sisters.
I love this Whiskey Ridge Creek series. I find it fascinating that 2 families can be feuding over something that happened many years ago. Mind you I find it hard to hold a grudge so maybe others can relate to this. Highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.
This story was more like a 'Rom-Com' than a contemporary romance. Definitely not a tearjerker. It has some likable characters, some hot spices in the bedroom, and it's well written. Editing isn't the cleanest, but nothing that caused hiccups.
DNF 35% This was cute, and I like the small town dynamic, I just couldn't get into the story. It's a pretty short book, but I wish there had been more details or something. It was just lacking something.
