Two secret identities.
Two reasons to hide.
The truth will either tear them apart or lead their entwined fates to love.

Starr Sparkles is on a mission. She’s using a secret identity while searching for an artifact to amplify her unique confessor magic and reclaim her normal, safe life. Otherwise, law enforcement wants her to devote her existence to seeking justice, no matter the personal and physical consequences to her and her family—and criminals want the Sparkles family dead.

Unfortunately, her best shot to save her family is to deal with the grumpy local antiquities dealer. Expecting to find the usual cranky shop owner, she instead encounters brawny and handsome Frank Baer. He’s knowledgeable, intelligent, and flirtatious…everything she hoped she’d find in a fated mate…and the kind of man who could distract her from her plans. Her life doesn’t allow time for love.

When Frank’s mage skills reveal her true identity, his public exposure puts her and her family at risk. A lethal criminal organization attacks Frank and Starr, driving the two to work together to combat the illegal outfit. After Frank’s secret self is bared, will their initial attraction turn to hate, or will fate forge the relationship into love?

THE ENCHANTED ROCK IMMORTALS...

Demons and Vampires. Elves and Fairies. Mages and Witches. Werewolves and Dragons. Psychics and Telekinetics.

These magical beings and more exist, rubbing shoulders in their daily lives with unsuspecting humans. But a supernatural society doesn’t happen without order. Millennia ago, the Clans—Sanguis, Fae, Magic, Shifter, and Human Paranormal—wisely formed a Council to maintain that order. The end? To ensure the worlds of human and paranormal beings didn’t collide and break out into a war that would result in the extermination or subjugation of either.

As human civilization progressed, the first council formed the All Clan Charter at the natural vortex in Great Zimbabwe, giving each clan a voice in the administration of affairs both between the clans and with humans. Next, Asia formed its council at Chengtu Vortex. Then European at Warel Chakra Vortex. North America came next at the natural vortex humans called Enchanted Rock, in what today is known as Texas.

Now, thriving communities of paranormal beings exist in and around the granite outcropping. Humans scrabble over the dome, not suspecting an entire city exists within its the North American Council and all its departments—Legislative, Administrative, Security, Medical, Vortex Transportation, and Legal, plus restaurants, clan hotels, and shops catering to the paranormal crowds.

Also under that dome? Intrigue, politics, and most importantly, love.

These are the stories of The Enchanted Rock Immortals.

My first by this author and it is the middle of a series set in the Enchanted Rock world, which apparently has a number of authors who write/play in that world.

This one was interesting and had a nice twist. To be honest, though, Stella, our heroine, is incredibly dense in one area, which was rather unbelievable. I may try and read some of the other titles in this particular series.

Cute

This is my first book by this author. I think I need to read reviews books to understand the world created better. Overall, the story is sweet and interesting. It's a different sort of fated mates tale since the female lead didn't recognize her mate for a long period of time. I also think I need more info to understand the villains. It was engaging and cute, with a satisfying ending, just not enough world info for me to be fully invested.
