This is a no nonsense book about language development for kids ages 1-3. A short read, very direct to the point and summarizes well all the current researches about the topic.
I love that it’s filled with lots of practical recommendations you can apply right away. Though the guidelines are more westernized (I didn’t know we follow US guidelines in the Ph), it’s refreshing to see books written by a Filipino author.
I can tell the author is a modern person of science who sees AND feels the current parenting landscape — lots of unnecessary stress, pressure, judgement and shaming.
I learned quite a few things from the book. The message is clear albeit many typo errors. Definitely a great resource for new parents.
The book explains everything in simple terms, making it accessible and stress-free for parents. The author seems to understand that parenting is already challenging, and the last thing parents need is a book that adds to that stress.
After reading this book, I realized I don't need to follow every piece of advice from social media influencers. They often present a polished, unrealistic view of parenting, showing only what's Instagram-worthy and omitting the difficulties.
I appreciate that the author highlights the importance of good communication to build a connection with your child, rather than focusing on sign languages, sensory play (which can be choking hazards), or other trendy but unnecessary practices promoted on social media.
This book has eased my worries about my child's development and reassured me that I don't need to overload them with activities, which can be more harmful than beneficial.
As a first-time parent, I find this easy to understand. The message of the book is clear and concise. The situations mentioned in the book were very relatable as well! It was a fun and informative read. Highly recommended for new parents like me.
Highly recommended this book to all parents Engaging with you baby/toddlers is far more beneficial for their development than any toy or gadgets This book has helpful tips of play and interactions to develop language which in turn improve behaviour.
