This is a small, yet powerful book. A series of meditations, I could only read a couple (or even only one) at a time and then would have to stop and think about what I'd read. But I also found myself picking it up and reading one or two each time I walked past the book. I definitely will be coming back to this book, probably over and over.

One of my favorite professors used to start every class with a chapter from this book. Slowly working my way through it has made me feel more connected to him. I wish I had had more time to learn from him.

Beautiful meditations. I know it says God, but I'm not a Christian and I found the deepness of the Earth hidden in the words of this book.

This collection of short, contemplative piece -- finally back in print -- is a powerful today as when it was first published nearly 40 years ago. A fresh look at a God we often taken for granted. This book will make you laugh, cry and wince by turns, always drawing you closer to God.
