Now an Amazon bestselling author, Sylvia Price is an author of Amish and contemporary romance and women’s fiction. She especially loves writing uplifting stories about second chances!

Sylvia was inspired to write about the Amish as a result of the enduring legacy of Mennonite missionaries in her life. While living with them for three weeks, they got her a library card and encouraged her to start reading to cope with the loss of television and radio, giving Sylvia a new-found appreciation for books.

Although raised in the cosmopolitan city of Montréal, Sylvia spent her adolescent and young adult years in Nova Scotia, and the beautiful countryside landscapes and ocean views serve as the backdrop to her contemporary novels.

After meeting and falling in love with an American while living abroad, Sylvia now resides in the US. She spends her days writing, hoping to inspire the next generation to read more stories. When she’s not writing, Sylvia stays busy making sure her three young children are alive and well-fed.

This story is “over the top” great! It is about an Amish gal, Bridget Miller, who had many desires and dreams as a teenager. She left her home, ‘hoping to find them in the English world’; but over the years she realized they did not bring her the happiness or the “things” she dreamed about. Her efforts to replace the disappointments in life with the hope of obtaining a life of happiness and joy failed. She decided to go back to her Amish community. The road was tough, but she continued to struggle down it. More than one she felt it was not possible for her. The bishop even tried to prevent her from being successful.
The author had a beautiful way of sharing the real purpose and joy in life, along with the redemption that is available to everyone, if and when, they listen and accept self-love, the love of others and God’s love. The result: Receiving forgiveness and experiencing change! Rather than the condemning harshness that some people express; instead receiving genuine love and concern. This story is most likely the greatest sharing I have ever read, and I highly recommend it.
The ‘inside story’ within the story is what everyone needs to hear. Thanks, Sylvia, for the care and sharing in such an awesome way. She was not preachy… she just shared the truth in the setting of a life lived today and the lack of fulfillment and joy that is produced from just worldly activities. Telling how to change that into something better – something that really counts and has lasting value. Read it. I don’t believe you will be sorry. It is a well written book. Filled with so much ‘humanness’, disappointment and judgement from oneself as well as from some others… However, it is also filled with overcoming that, gaining love, forgiveness and a second chance. Do pick it up, read it and share it…
I did receive an advance reader’s copy.

Bridget continues the Amish of Morrissey County series and I'm looking forward to reading more. This is Bridget's story along with Steven's whose loved her for a long time. They were courting when they were younger but then she fled to the live among the Englisch for seven years. When she returns ready to embrace the Amish life will the community welcome her back?

She and Steven seem to pick up where they left off until a bomb drops and he doesn't think he'll be able to be with her. Her brother Aaron who's very devout isn't happy she's returned especially since he thinks she might be a bad influence on his wife, Sadie, who had also contemplated that life. But she is caring and loving and talks things through with Aaron to set his mind at ease. The bishop, who is Sadie's grandfather, is not a nice person and it takes others to show him the light.

There is a nice flow to the story and I like the relationships that were built. There were some loose ends and a potential for a happily ever after. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Ms. Price is an author whose books I enjoy. I like how she brings the characters and the Amish community to life.

Bridget Miller left the Amish community in Pennsylvania to figure out who she is/was. People were hurt in the community from her leaving. The true test in time will they/can they trust her now that she has return to the community.
We have Aaron her brother and 100% devout Amish, he is worried about her Englisch ways/influence that she might have on his family. Can he take her at her word?
Steven so wants to take over his family farm, only problem with this is he is single. His father won't retire until he see Steven married and settle down. What is he to do, the only female he cared about broke his heart when she left. Now, that she is back can he trust her, his heart. Can he trust her, will the community accept her back or shun her. If they shun her, if he takes her back will they shun him as well.
Bridget understands everyone is concern and tries top show then her heart is back here with her family, friends and community.

there are many reasons to go astray from the teaching of Bible or Community.

Bridget falls prey to sins of the flesh while on rumspringa, and it does not go without notice.

She is met by anger from her bishop and her former beau.

Yet are they not guilty if pride? Does she need and seek redemption? if the redemption she really needs is from and with God, can she find it with her community?

all sins are washed away in a baptism- can she embrace the opportunity? will Bridget have that chance?

live, loss, faith and community are explored and challenged.

Bridget had a really crazy life in my opinion, she went through a lot of heartache. wanting redemption, she went home to her family, hoping they would forgive her and welcome her back. sadly it doesn't start out that way, but things soon turn around, when an old boyfriend, who she still loves, tells his father that she is back, he stands up for her and she has her happy ever ever!! it was a great book that I could not put down!! I highly recommend it and look forward to more!! so far all of Sylvia Price's books have been amazing!!! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Bridget (The Amish of Morrissey County Book Two): An Amish Romance Kindle Edition
by Sylvia Price

Sylvia Price is a new author to me.

Bridget is written well and has a very unique and interesting plot a storyline. I have red books about people returning to their communities, but never after 7 years and over the objections from the Bishop.

Love Ms. Price’s way of developing the characters in the story. Well done and very realistic.

I highly recommend this book and I would definitely read other works by her.

Bridget has returned to her Amish community but finds acceptance hard to find. Steven needs a bride to take over his father's farm, but the one he wanted left years ago, until she turns up, but can they find happiness and trust? Well written a great addition to the series butbworks standalone a story of love trust and second chances.

I was so blessed following the story of Bridget as she experienced the healing ointment of God’s forgiveness from a life of sin, letting go of the past to make room for the future God had planned for her all along. Would the Amish community accept her back? But more importantly, would Steven, her teenage love, be willing to look past her mistakes and see her as God sees her, redeemed? A book that will capture the heart of each reader, leaving one not wanting the story to end!

This was a story full of suspense and forgiveness. Bridget left the Amish to live in the English world. After several years, she yearns to go home but is afraid of how she would be welcomed. Her brother did not welcome her and the man she loved was unsure if she would stay. I enjoyed this book as I do all of Sylvia Price's.

Sylvia Price has done it again with another good short novel, "Bridget" (Book 2 of the Amish of Morrissey County series). I enjoyed reading about Bridget's experience of living in the Englisch world for 7 years before deciding to return to her home community. The challenges of finding acceptance for a prodigal when they return can be very different depending on the community and it's leaders. Be sure to read it to learn about Bridget's experience.

This is a heartwarming read with well written characters and a beautiful story of an Amish woman who returns to the simple way of life after being with the English for seven years. Ms. Price never disappoints whatsoever and I always enjoy her books of faith in the Lord and seeking His will for us every day. If you enjoy well crafted Amish romance, don't miss Bridget. Bridget lives in the English world, from 6 years, but she is amish.
The new world is attractive, with tecnologies, cars, phones, but she feels alone.
What about she came back home and join the faith? How will react her family and the comunity?
nice book, well written. I think choices are always hard to take, people talk can hurt.

True forgiveness

Bridget leaves her Amish community with hopes of finding love and a future with the "English." As her new life becomes one of loneliness and disappointment, she decides to return to her family and, hopefully, the forgiveness of her church. However, the Bishop has other ideas about forgiveness that make Bridget's home coming a nightmare.

Facts of life

I have read many Amish stories and how devoted they are to God and their communities. Howe Dr,this book presented a realistic look at a girl that wondered about the life of the English .
The message was that forgiveness is given by God and not other people. Very interesting material used by the author and an excellent job of presenting it in the book.

Bridget is back in Morrissey County wanting to reestablish her life in the Amish community. Her brother, Aaron, is not sure she will stay around but his wife, Sadie & her parents are thrilled she has returned. Will she be welcomed back by the community and her old flame or will the bishop make her life difficult as he tries to hold her up as an example and drive her away for good?

Bridget

This was a very good book full of drama from a mean judgmental bishop. The bishop did not represent Gods word but his own selfish motives. I was so happy that things worked out well for Bridget in the end. Excellent book indeed!!!

Bridget, Aaron's sister, after seven years living as an Englischer, decided to return to her family in Amish comunnity in Morrissey County. She would like to join Amish and be baptized but bishop said that it would be really difficult for her because she lived in sin. Would Bridget be able to overcome all obstacles and became Amish or would she give up and return to her English live? Take the book and find out. Characters are shown in very realistic way.
