Now an Amazon bestselling author, Sylvia Price is an author of Amish and contemporary romance and women’s fiction. She especially loves writing uplifting stories about second chances!

Sylvia was inspired to write about the Amish as a result of the enduring legacy of Mennonite missionaries in her life. While living with them for three weeks, they got her a library card and encouraged her to start reading to cope with the loss of television and radio, giving Sylvia a new-found appreciation for books.

Although raised in the cosmopolitan city of Montréal, Sylvia spent her adolescent and young adult years in Nova Scotia, and the beautiful countryside landscapes and ocean views serve as the backdrop to her contemporary novels.

After meeting and falling in love with an American while living abroad, Sylvia now resides in the US. She spends her days writing, hoping to inspire the next generation to read more stories. When she’s not writing, Sylvia stays busy making sure her three young children are alive and well-fed.

Sylvia Price is a master storyteller in all the books she writes. This book takes on a journey of a Amish woman Abigail who is concerned that she will never marry and when her mother dies she will be sent off to family members as the old maid of the family. Her father has passed and her mother is not well but Abigail is a strong woman who enjoys running her fathers hardware store and working with her hands to build items.
In the meantime Jonas has also lost his father and has decided that he will never love anyone again because it hurts to much to loose someone you love. His mother has prayed that he would find a woman and fall in love. Jonas is building up the farm in order to fulfill his fathers dreams and is in the process of building calving pens for a shipment he has bought. He realizes that he can not build as good as his father and is also running out of nails. God steps in and sends him to Abigail's shop.
When they meet it is a feeling that both of them have but neither wants to admit. Abigail is the first to take the lead and goes to Jonas's house to help him build the barn. He is amazed at her talents and they begin working together on a daily basis.
BUT, the is a character named Peter Zook.....what is his roll in this romance.
This is a can't put down book and will be one that you will cherish forever as a way to get a burst of happiness on days that things just don't seem to be going right.
It again reminds us that we need to trust in GOD's plan and mercy. This is book three in the series.

Abigail is the third book in The Amish of Morrissey County series. It's an Amish romance and is Abigail and Jonas's story. He's a confirmed bachelor until he meets Abigail and doesn't know which end is up especially when she helps him build his calf pens. She's handier than he is. Abigail's mom wants her settled before she succumbs to her illness but her only option is Peter Zook, or is it?

Once again the bishop goes out of his way to make life more difficult for one of his flock and it was hurtful to see. Peter doesn't embody any of the Amish beliefs in his day to day life. When he finally gets his comeuppance will it make a difference?

The story has a good pace and I like the characters surrounding Jonas - his mom and his two friends as well as Abigail's mom. There are religious moments as well as some sweet ones. I like how Abigail and Jonas have a lot in common and something to build on. There's a happily ever after once Abigail and Jonas learn to communicate and it was nice to see. The epilogue gives closure and was heartwarming.

I look forward to reading more books by Ms. Price.

Jonas Smoker is a confirmed bachelor. Much as his mother tries, he doesn’t want to find a wife.
Abigail Speicher lives with her mother and runs the family’s hardware store after her father passed away, not interested in finding a husband. Jonas comes into the store to buy some nails when Abigail is working and there is a spark between them. The next day Abigail shows up at the Smoker farm and offers to help Jonas build his calf pens. He is impressed with the work she does and their friendship grows – but will it grow into something more?

I like reading books about the Amish people and the customs and cultures and Sylvia Price doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend this book. I was hooked after the first page and couldn’t put it down. This is the third book in a series but yet it is a stand alone read because each book is about a person or family in this Amish community and reading the other ones are not necessary but definitely recommended.

I received an advance reader copy of Abigail (The Amish of Morrissey County Book Three) from the author.

Abigail Speicher is a young Amish woman who longs to be married and have a family. Her mother is concerned about her daughter and says a prayer that she will find someone to love and marry. She does not want her daughter to be alone when she passes away.

Jonas Smoker is a young bachelor who wants to remain a bachelor and continue with his father's legacy to make a success of his farm. He does not want to risk getting hurt again.

When Abigail meets Jonas, she realizes that he is the one she wants to spend her life with. She is a strong and determined woman. She is skilled at carpentry and helps Jonas with building pens for the animals. Jonas is impressed with Abigail's skills and her kindness to others.

I enjoyed reading the story of Abigail and Jonas and how Abigail sets out to win Jonas's heart so they can have a life together.

This is Book 3 of this series, can't wait to go back and read the first 2. The story is based in Pennsylvania in the Amish community.
We have Abigail, a depress young lady after her dad died. Wondering what will be come of her, will she ever find happiness. Would getting married snap her out of the depress and help her find happiness again.
Jonas is very happy being alone, except he has his widow mom telling him how much grandchildren will make her life complete. Will he give up his dream of living his life his way to please his mother.
All it takes is the right moment and time for these two to come across each other. Right off the bat, Jonas is taken by Abigail. Can he win her heart? Time will tell.

This book was a delightful read. Immediately I was interested to find out what the story line was going to be. I was not disappointed as I read. Abigail was the starring person in this book, but it brought in others who became special as well.

The story line develops quickly from the beginning and made me want to keep reading. I enjoyed it and do recommend you reading it if you enjoy Amish fiction with a touch of reality. It is in a series but can be read alone. I just think you would enjoy it more by reading the entire series as people are in more than one book.

Abigail and Jonas have some personal tragedies and personality quirks in common. Both are only children whose mothers have lost their husbands. Both are relatively young and working hard to keep their respective family businesses going.

Abigail is unique in her skills with carpentry and building, though a young woman. Jonas has a real knack with family yet badly needs carpentry help for nee pens for his planned calf operation.

Can these two outsiders find their way together, despite the interference of a bully and a bishop in the communities?

sweet romance and faith bound living.

Abigail (The Amish of Morrissey County Book Three) by Sylvia Price is a great short story that is entertaining and inspiring. Jonas, a confirmed bachelor with no interest in marriage, feels very comfortable devoted to improving the ranch he inherited. Abigail is likewise sure that her lot in life is to improve the store that her father left to her. Will either of them change their outlook and find each other or will either of them find someone else in the process of life. Read it and find out and enjoy the read.

I really enjoy this author’s writings, always entertaining, just the right length but more importantly, directing the reader to the message of the Gospel. The story of Abigail, Jonas and Pete Zook leave you wondering if good will win over evil, if hearts in tune with Gott can truly trust Him to work things out for their good. Despite twists and turns, hope is sprinkled throughout with the assurance that He is in control!

When courtship did not work out for Abigail and Pete, she discovered another single man in the community. She and her mom ran the hardware store where confirmed bachelor Jonas went to get nails to work on his calf pens. Abigail decided she needed to show Jonas her skills and went to help. Trouble abounds when Pete steps back in the picture.

Abigail

This was another great story displaying the beginning relationship between Abigail and Jonas. It’s hard to believe that the community Bishop is so very corrupt and such a horrible leader.

This story is full òf dreaming, action, misunderstandings and forgiveness. Two widow ladies each long for their only heirs to find love and marry. The sad part of it is, Jonas has decided he is a confirmed bachelor. Abigail longed for love but all the good guys were gone. Abigail was working in the general store left by her father when Jonas decided he needed more nails to finish the calf pens. Cupid shot his arrows. In all good stories there is a villain and this one is Pete. Pete longed for Abigail`s affections with no positive response. Pete was determined to get Abigail to be with him. Did she finally give in, decide staying single was better than being with Pete or was there another ending?.

Abigail was the youngest child of Colette Speicher. She wanted to see her daughter married before God called her home. Jonas was the son of Barbara Smoker. He was a confirmed bachelor, never planning to marry.

He went into the store owned by the Speicher's to buy some nails. That was the first time that he and Abigail had ever seen each other. Would there ever be anything between them? Definitely not, if Pete Zook had anything to do with it.

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
