I would highly suggest you to read the author's first book before picking up this one as it will help you understand the content so much better.

I do feel the first book by the author, explains the most basic concepts regarding real estate investment.
The book has nine short chapters which explains well some smart investing plans including plans for retirement, how to protect personal residence, explains some basic updated terms, ways to invest and some very basic practical advice on when to act.
If you want a dynamic, practical guidebook on the topic you can go for this one.
