For a stalker romance, this was weirdly sweet? Like the guy blatantly admits he's been stalking the heroine during their first interaction and the heroine was into it? It wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't good? I just wanted it to be a bit darker and not as weird.

Rowan has been obsessed and stalking Jocelyn at first because a client thinks her husband is messing with Jocelyn. But in truth she doesn’t care for thr creepy man and just loves Yoga and showing others to be confident in there bodies.

These two bond very quickly and he saves her a few times from the boss sand wants her even more the more he spends time with her, he is alittle worried when he tells her his secret in stalking would cause. Which wasn’t that bad. They were perfect together.



Om drama (creepy boss), no cheating, slight secondary chars, tiny drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

STORY:
WHAT I LIKED:
I found myself enjoying the writer's writing style and the story with Jocelyn and Rowan. As I read the beginning of the story, I fell into the character of Jocelyne and what she represented. Rowan initially as well aroused your interest as it was certainly giving you creepo vibes, but in a good way. I thought the author did a good job with the stalking aspect for an insta. It wasn’t long but likable.



WHAT WAS SO SO:
I think where the story slides for me, and this is more of a me thing and what I personally like, is the way Jocelyn reacted to Rowan knowing so much about her. I do understand it was a turn on for her and exciting, but I could not connect to the way she was reacting. Wanted a little fear mix with excitement.


SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
Jocelyn and Rowan's sex scene was sweet. It’s an insta so I know it’s short, but would have loved more.


SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
There weren’t really any prominent secondary characters.

This was a quick novella read, my first time reading anything from this author, and it was the group pick for the Twisted and Taboo Readathon. This is a stalker romance that I honestly expected to be steamier so that was kind of a let down. 😅

The heroine works at a yoga studio and notices the hero watching her through the window while she’s teaching a class. From the hero’s POV, we learn he’s a private investigator who was hired for a case and while on that case he stumbles across the heroine and is instantly infatuated with her. He starts keeping an eye/watching her, he takes photos of her, looks into her background and learns they were both in the system growing up, and just genuinely feels taken with her. He even has a dark room in his house where he develops all of the photos he’s taken of her, he’s a bit wary of actually meeting her since she’s about to be 24 and he talks constantly that she’s “too young” for him (although we never get his age). One night he ends up coming to her rescue during a situation, she’s thankful and offers him payment for being “her superhero”, which he takes a kiss for the “payment” instead after walking her home. We also get some scenes of her trying to teach him yoga.

The hero is very upfront about the fact that he’s been stalking/watching her for the past month. He even tries to put her off him, but she seems fine with it all and he invites her back to his place where he shows her his dark room full of photos of her. I actually liked how they’re both just super honest and upfront about everything. The steam was lackluster and I expected more, otherwise this was pretty sweet!

I am reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Jocelyn found her calling when she discovered Yoga, she had found a way of toning her curves and doing something that she loved. When she had originally pitched the idea of a curvy yoga class to her boss her idea had been shut down but now that the classes are a big success, he is of course claiming all of the glory. It was during one of her classes that she first spotted the mysterious man in the white van and has been daydreaming about him since. The night that her boss made a move on here, her man in the white van Rowan comes to the rescue, it’s from that moment on that she realizes there is something about this man that feels right. But who is this man who is quickly taking over all her thoughts and dreams, can she trust him with her heart?

Rowan is a PI that has been employed to catch a husband cheating, its what pays the bills and a normal assignment for him, that is until he sees her, Jocelyn the woman he intends on claiming as his very own. From the moment he set his eyes on her she has become his sunshine. He has spent his days watching her keeping her safe from the men that visit the yoga studio and the man that he was sent to investigate Henry McCray. He has been watching the way that he looks at his sunshine and can tell that he wants her for himself but that is never going to happen. He will always be there to rescue her; he knows that they are meant to be together but when Jocelyn finds out how obsessed he is with her will he lose her forever?

This was a quick steamy read by an author that never disappoints as far as I am concerned and am always dying to read the next book. Enjoyable 4.2* read & recommended.

Edit: I'm dropping my initial rating of a 3 star to a 2 star. While i feel like all of my initial feelings are still valid, I don't feel like this had payoff for a stalker or forbidden romance at all and I mean that was the whole point right?



I picked this up because it was the group pick for the Twisted and Taboo Readathon and I'm interested in stalker romances. Overall it wasn't a bad read for a quick novella. And if you just go in with no expectations and just seeking an easy, enjoyable time, then pick this up.

I actually enjoyed the setup (1st half) a lot more than the end. The author wrote a lot of good detailed descriptions in the first few pages but I think that slowly fell off. The closer to the end, the more it seemed like all the elegance was thrown out the window and we traded for an abrupt, rushed sort of story telling.

For a stalker romance I felt like this was really tame as far as dark or taboo themes go. I know it's supposed to be a forbidden romance as well but I didn't feel that. Forbidden means there are consequences or at least the worry for them and I didn't find that anywhere. Not a stich of resistance to being together from either of our main characters or a side character.

Five shining stars! This was everything I was hoping it would be and more. Jocelyn is a yoga instructor and notices Rowan through the storefront windows. What she doesn't know... is that Rowan has already noticed her. Due to his job, she's his forbidden obsession.

"I will spend the rest of my life making sure nobody ever lets her down again."

Rowan is over the top but that makes him that much more lovable. Jocelyn is super sweet and knows exactly what she wants. Him. I recommend this book! It's super safe with a celibate hero and virgin heroine.

REVIEW:

A super cheesy stalker romance. I do like stalker romances, but this one felt very flat and unbelievable.

The setup is okay. He's on a case, comes across her and starts taking pictures and stalking her. All a decent setup for a stalker romance.

But Jocelyn comes across as overly trusting of him immediately, even after he shows her his dark room full of pictures he's taken of her. Like she has no self preservation, she just runs right into his arms. He could've been a stalker! Oh wait, he was. lol But seriously, I just didn't think her reaction towards him and his reveal that he's been stalking her was realistic at all. There should've been some push and shove before she fully gave in. Would've made things much more interesting and realistic.

Also, he says that he's old enough to be her father, but that's just not really true. She's 24 and he says he's almost 40, so at most he is 39. Sure, if he had a kid at 15 he could be her father, but that's unlikely. So him saying this was a little unnecessary. He was too worried about the age gap.

Overall it just wasn't that great. It had some cute and sexy moments. But the characters felt flat and fake. And I just didn't like it that much.

I’m so excited for this new series from Regina Wade. I have loved every book that I’ve read by her and this book was no different. An age gap, obsession, stalker romance with PI Rowan and yoga instructor Jocelyn. The moment he lays eyes on her it’s over, she’s his, even if she doesn’t know it. Obsessed is definitely the word to describe Rowan! Every moment is dedicated to her in the naughtiest ways. His use of photographs is super hot! There’a a good story in this book as well. He’s got a cheating husband to catch in the act. She wants to own a yoga studio if her own. Of course there will also be the fall out when she discovers the truth. What will she think? The bad guy obsessed with the good girl? I really enjoyed these characters and their very naughty story.

When her boss tries to put them moves on her Rowan shows up and rescues her. Its not long before things heat up between them. Will Jocelynn end things when she learns of his obsession with her? Can they move forward from his case together?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book that any book lover would enjoy.

I Feel His Caress Through His Intense Gaze

Wow, for me this book had it all.
This spice/heat level in this book went from 0-100 very quickly & for me that made it a fantastic read as it kept me reading.
This is steamy story between an older PI, Rowan & a young, curvy yoga instructor, Jocelyn. You can sense the immediate attraction when they meet & the story follows how their relationship is built.
I absolutely loved reading this book.

My favourite quote from the book where you can feel the heat & intense sexual chemistry.

"Do you want to run, Jocelyn?" Rowan's voice is low & husky in the red glow of the basement. "No," I lick my lips & watch surprise chase its way across his face. "I want to stay.".

A PI takes a job but ends up stumbling upon his obsession. I enjoyed this grey (not light, not dark) stalker read. I liked that basically from the moment he met Jocelyn face to face he basically admitted the stuff he knew about her.

I thought it was a little weird she just expected it and then was super surprised to find out he was stalking her. Uh, girl. He said he was a bad man and he knew a ton of stuff about you. Connect the dots.

My favorite was the hundreds of pics of her he had plastered around his dark room.

I wish the dark spot was something that happened with their relationship instead of something outside it but that’s just always my preference.

Rowan is a very possessive Alpha male whose interest in Jocelyn borders into a creepy kind of stalking. However, I was not crept out of the story. I actually loved it.its just the right amount of possessiveness, 10 degrees either way would make it way too creepy for me. I've always had a soft spot for possessive,Alpha males.
It's a pity it's an instalove, age--gap trope cos that means there's not much real estate you can expand into. Its basically, action then go! There's not enough time to develop the characters and the story to an extent. But such is the price you pay for a short, afternoon delight. However, I thought this book balanced out the narrative necessary between story and steam. I will read more of Ms Wade’s books, specially the next one in this series.

Regina Wade has been a must read author of mine for some time now. She has a way of drawing her readers into her books from the 1st page to the last. Her characters are so delightfully flawed that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Rowan and Jocelyn's story is one of finding your soul mate and doing whatever is necessary to make them yours. Oh boy, I wish I had a stalker like this one! This is a fantastic way of starting the Savage Stalkers series, don't miss it! Can't wait for more.

This was a new author for me, and while the story was good, it was a bit too love at first sight with a crazy over the top, unbelievable ending. Yes it is a HE, but a bit far fetched. It was a quick read and I probably would have given it 4 stars up until the ending. Maybe this is a typical love at first sight, happy love affair book? I don't read a ton of them. Either way - the Hero sounded hot and definitely loved the alpha vibes.

This book was a quick read. Rowan was supposed to be spying on the boss for his wife, but once he saw the curvy beauty in the yoga class, he was obsessed. Jocelyn did what she loved, but when she saw a man spying on her, she couldn't help but follow this man with her heart and naughty thoughts. Great little story. Insta-lust, great characters and interesting plot line.

This is just a quick fun read by the pool side. It takes you into someone else's life and it was just a great escape.

This overalls was fun to read! I would have rated it over 4 stars if we got a little more of Rowan and Jocelyn together. And I thought the conflict with her boss didn’t hit it for me.
