Samantha Wahlx finds herself in a lot of trouble when she discovers that she's winged. On top of that, her winged parents have plans that involve a lot of innocent people getting hurt. Her human foster mother will do anything to protect her, but her parents have other plans. Friends and foes are made along the way as trust is tested. Her parents are relentless, but so is she. Samantha must learn to control her new powers if she has any chance at stopping them.

Great fantasy concept with family drama and a hint of romance thrown in. The story was a little fast paced for me and I wanted more detail along the way. We met characters who were introduced and already gone from the story in less than 10 pages which left me wanting so much more. I thought the familial relationships also could've used some more development. Otherwise, creative read and a good debut novel
