Their meet cute is a three-legged race…

She suffers from social anxiety but will do anything for her friends. She’s a former soccer star who craves peace and quiet, ice cream, Guardians of the Galaxy and 90s alternative music.

He’s a hot former real estate mogul who grew up in foster care and wants to make a difference in the world. He’s a gear head who loves his motorcycle, has a wicked dart game, and crochets to settle his mind.

Sarah is content with her life. The last thing she needs is a distraction. Especially a distraction like Blake Armitage, the sinfully delicious man who is Willow Creek's newest savior. But now he's turning up everywhere. He's a rival coach and her newest neighbor. And he clearly wants a much more intimate relationship.

𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖/𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:
Andrea is so amazing at linking in deeper meaning with her stories and their respective titles. 𝘕𝘰 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 perfectly describes the journey these two take.

Blake in his persistence to be with Sarah and have a place to truly call home.

And Sarah with her resistance to stay in her bubble, to avoid the risk, so to speak.

Andrea is so good at throwing in amazing quotes that get you in your feels. Strong MCs that are beyond relatable. And true love that wraps you up warmly and makes you smile.
I felt that I could relate alot with Sarah. (Same names aside. lol) Social anxiety is something I've worked hard to overcome as I've grown into an adult, and it still lingers in the background occasionally, or pops out at random times. I felt rather Sarah's character was really believable and real. Also, we both love icecream.
There was such a wonderful blend of sweetness, spice, and tension in this one. It was so enjoyable.

I'm super excited to read the next one in the series and then on to book #4! Thank you Andrea for my ARCS and having me on your ARC team! You're such an inspiration as a writer and your stories are just so fun!

I think it’s safe to say that if it’s a Willow Creek book I’m 🎶 bound to falling in love🎶

“You’re my Cassiopeia A. Your brilliance dims everything else. When you’re in a room, you’re my lodestone. You ground me, but you’re also all I can focus on.”

Like this ⬆️ *swooooooon*

Sarah and Blake’s story felt like finally finding your true home after years of being lost, finding a place to belong when all you’ve ever known is being an outsider, finding someone that makes you feel seen when you thought you never wanted to be- it is a story close to my heart for these exact feelings. And feelings were aplenty.

From the very beginning, their significant and adorable meet cute (literally having their legs entwine together causing them to fall on top of each other … 🎶bound to falling in love🎶) had me in allllll of my feels.

From lines that were heartbreakingly beautiful and so close to my heart, to chance encounters that had me giddy with anticipation, to forced proximity moments that had me practically bursting with tension, and to scenes that were overflowing with so much love and hope- I couldn’t help shedding many many tears.

Exhibit A:
“Like I told you at Guy’s, I’m not going anywhere. I’m finally putting down roots because I’ve never had them. I want them. And I want them here. If I have to wait, or I have to convince you, or both, then I’ll do it. I’ll do my damnedest to convince you and I’ll wait for you to choose me. Even if we’re old and gray.” *cries in swoon*

Exhibit B:
“I see you. I’ve seen you from the very first moment. Even the things you try to hide.” *cries in seen*

Exhibit C:
“I’m crazy in love with you. I’m staying here in Willow Creek because of all the reasons I told you I was ready to find somewhere to belong. But I have someone I want to belong to as well.” *cries in wants Blake Armitage*

And honestly I could share soooo much more but I think it’s just best for you reader to read this book and experience the joy for yourself 😍

Another hot and delicious story! Once I started I couldn't put it down (or had to but didn't want to). I love that Blake fell first and hard. Sarah was so relatable with her anxiety and fear of letting someone close. Their relationship dynamic reminded me of elements of my own, which helped me relate on a more intimate level.

We have a former real estate mogul moved to small town Willow Creek to find the life he has been craving after being raised in foster care. With tattoos for days, the need to create a difference in the small town he is now calling home, and the ability to crochet weighted blankets, Blake Armitage is book boyfriend material. (That is if he didn't seem waaaaaaay out of my league - oh and fictional.)

Then we have Sarah, science teacher and former soccer star whose social anxiety she tries to keep hidden like the events of her past that haunt her even when she sleeps. Her kindness and empathy makes her a person who would go to bat for you no matter the situation.

When Blake and Sarah collide (literally) during their meet cute three-legged race at the fair, there is no stopping their undeniable chemistry from forcing these two on a whirlwind romantic adventure.

To say that I love Andrea Janelle's writing is an understatement. With contemporary romance being a genre I have a difficult time reading, her novels are one of the few exceptions of contemporary romance that grip me and make me so excited to shut out the world around me and read.

And am I now attracted to man buns? (And by this I mean the hair kind - because well - I am also attracted to the other kind.) When it comes to No Surrender's Blake Armitage the answer is a definite YES! Like his fictional status might make him too good looking if that is even a possibility. But under that smokin' hot facade is a character who was patient and thoughtful towards the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He knew it was essential for Sarah with her anxieties to make the majority of the moves within their relationship and his patience had me hoping for someone like Blake in my future.

I also loved how there was a shift in focus from the friend's group of Taren, Emma and Sarah of No Regrets to showcase more of the POVs of Blake, Zane and Dex in No Surrender. I loved reading about the strong friendship between these men. And Zane's hope to create a lasting love between his friends that included him roping Blake into joining a romance book club, was by far one of my favourite parts.

So much of No Surrender had me wishing for a friend group such as the ones created between these stellar women and the men they love in Willow Creek. It makes a reader long for a real life Willow Creek. So if you read this novel and know of one, please send the directions my way!

Quotes I loved:

'"Yes. And not like in Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm more of a Black Sails woman. You're like a Johanna Lindsey Malory cover come to life. I have this old copy of A Gentle Rogue I inherited from my aunt, and it has Fabio braced on the deck of a ship in an open white shirt, with his hair streaming around him. He's clasping the heroine around the waist, like he's saving her from falling overboard, but is probably about to ravish her." He's watching me with rapt attention. I blush a little, because when I think about that clinch cover and picture him caging me against the prow of a ship, I get extremely swoony.'

"There's a reason Jacob, Have I Loved was my favorite book growing up. Louise was the forgotten sister the shadowy imitation of glittering perfect Caroline. I identified with Louise. I shared her quilt and her bitterness and her deep need to belong somewhere to someone."

"It's what I think I need to finally make the desperation that claws at my soul disappear forever."

"Do I believe in love at first sight? Definitely not. But there's an invisible thread between us I can't explain."

*I received a copy of the ARC for No Surrender to beta read & just like No Regrets am purchasing a physical copy immediately!*

I did a read along for this series and all I’m going to say is that if you haven’t read this series you are missing out!!!  Where can I start with this review. We have Sarah, she was a professional soccer player and after a tragedy that happened in her life she decide to step away from the spot light and left all she knew behind, well more like she ran away. She started from scratch in the small town of Willow Creek but her social anxiety from the incident is front and center still during her day to day. Her quiet and peaceful life are about to crumble the minute she meets Blake.

Now lets Talk about Blake! Oh Mr. Sexy Real Estate Mogul that is looking to set roots in the small town of Willow Creek. He spend his childhood in the foster care system so he is trying to do his part to help kids in needs. This book was just super sweet. The banter going on with the groups was just awesome. The book club shenanigans' continue in book two and Zane is determine to get his friend hooked reading romance books so his friend learn how to woo their ladies. And then Dex jumps into the bookclub wagon by suggesting the "close proximity/Next door neighbor trope" when  Blake is looking for a new location while his place is still under renovation.  Now don't let me get started on how freaking sexy Blake is not only physically but the qualities that he has and that fact that he is trying to show Sarah that he is serious about settling down and putting roots down. Blake is cocky and confident but not condescending. He's a professional darts player which he sure takes advantage of that during a date with Sarah.  Not only did he actually joined the book club but he actually took the time to read the romance books and was invested in the conversations! And last but not least he likes crocheting!!! I need me a Blake in my life.
This book was slow burn and low on spice for me. But this book was more about how Blake was able to help Sarah find her inner strength again and helping her find love and a found family. I love everything about this book and I can't wait to read the next one. Also just because I said low on spice it doesn't mean there wasn't any. The end of chapter 20 was E.P.I.C.

Spoilers below!

I loveddd this book!

First off, let me start by saying forced proximity is my thing😍
I was obviously sad when the tree fell on Sarah’s house, however the fact that she then had to move in with her neighbor Blake didn’t bother me in the slightest ;) I loved them together and their connection.

Some things I loveddd:

1. I thought that it was so cool that Blake was so masculine on the outside but had the sweetest heart on the inside. He joined a book club for Sarah, took up knitting as a hobby, and even got a hamster and dressed it up for his sister Ellery.
2. I loved that Blake and Sarah waited to have sex with each other. It was interesting because normally Sarah treats sex as a casual thing, but I liked that her and Blake refrained because they knew they had feelings for each other from the start, and it would only complicate things.
3. I was really happy that Sarah got her closure at the end, from both her family and her ex, and also her sister’s shooting. She was walking around with so much guilt all the time and she didn’t deserve that burden.
4. In the beginning I found it interesting to read about Sarah being jealous of Taren and Zane’s relationship. I would have never guessed that from reading the first book of the series, No Regrets. It just goes to show that you never fully know how someone feels unless they tell you. Always check up on your friends.

Overall, I loved this book and small town vibe. I’m happy that Taren and Zane are still together and now that Blake and Sarah are as well :)

ARC Review

I absolutely loved *No Surrender*! I went in expecting a typical romance, but the way it unfolded was a delightful surprise. The book thoughtfully addresses various mental disabilities, a topic not often covered in literature, and I genuinely appreciate how it handles these issues with sensitivity and depth.

Blake's character is a standout for me. He exudes confidence without crossing into cockiness, and his ability to challenge Sarah and break down her walls adds a compelling dynamic to their relationship. Having faced his own challenges growing up, Blake brings a nuanced understanding to their interactions, making the tension between them feel authentic and relatable.

The slow burn romance is executed perfectly—there were moments I was practically shouting at the pages, "Just get together already!" 😂 The chemistry between Blake and Sarah is palpable, and the buildup only heightened my anticipation.

The writing style is engaging and accessible, immersing you in the world of Willow Creek. If you enjoyed *No Regrets*, you'll find *No Surrender* shifts the focus to the male perspective, adding a refreshing twist to the narrative.

Overall, *No Surrender* is a beautifully crafted story that balances humor, heart, and real-life struggles. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a heartfelt read!

I absolutely love that this entire series has some of my favorite tropes in it. Small town romance 🖤 Forced Proximity 🖤 Cinnamon Roll Hero 🖤 He falls first.
So not only does it contain some bomb ass tropes, but Sarah (MFC) is not the typical MFC's we have seen in many other stories. She has almost crippling social anxiety and she has a sensory disorder. Those two things alone make her more relatable, which makes it so much easier to connect with her and this story. I love how Andrea progressed this character through her fears of inadequacy, of feeling like she is only ever a disappointment to those who are supposed to love her unconditionally. I also really enjoyed the way Blake fit into her life and helped her voice her concerns and figure out how to squash them by showing her that unconditional love she has always deserved. Blake's patience with her and his understanding of her differences was refreshing.
The chemistry between the two, both emotional and physical, is swoon worthy. The sex that they have is spicy AF and definitely makes one clench their thighs and reposition in their chair, but it's more than that. You can tell that their sex is very emotional for both of them and that's even more of a turn on.
I'm so glad I read this installment of this series and I cannot wait to read more!!

While I enjoyed book 1 and book 3 of this series, this one….missed the mark for me.

The story itself overall was ok but there was a lot that I could’ve done without. The book could’ve absolutely been at least 100 pages shorter. There wasn’t that much happening to warrant 300 pages. Again I’ve read a couple of the authors other books but this one really felt like she wrote it specifically for the TikTok only book girlies. [Absolutely no shade here, I myself am a booktoker. I mean the ones who only pick up a book they see is popular on the app and that’s the only reason for reading it. The book has to have all the right popular words and such to even be considered good.] The conversations between characters didn’t flow organically, and there was way more telling than showing.

The base story is kind of cute, but it feels like there was a pressure to stuff as much as possible in this book, so by the time we actually get to the romance, you almost forgot it was the whole point. The reasons the fmc had for not being with the mmc were talked around for more than half of the book, and the “twist” was….pointless?

I just wish this story had been kept to its more base layer and it would’ve been a more enjoyable read.

📖No Surrender By Andrea Jenelle📖

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

My Thoughts ~ This is the second book in the Willow Creek Series and I absolutely love it. I could not put it down. I love how involved the town is in the book as well as the story and romance happening between Sarah And Blake. I was soo hopeful to see more of Blake in the series and got my wish surprisingly early on in the series, I was so happy with how he was written just an overall great man, very unique in many ways. Sarah has a garded wall up that she seems to lower with the help of Blake’s charm and caring pursuits.
I love Andreas writing it’s so beautiful and unique I her own personal way, you see words or phrases that aren’t so commonly used in other books, never disappointed when I turn the page and always a great ending.

Quotes

“ I want to crush the bones of anyone who ever made you feel like that. You are more than enough. So much more. You are almost too much”

“I don’t believe in love at first sight, but it was like I got struck by lighting.”

“Just surrender and enjoy the adventure”

I need to move to Willow Creek because apparently there's love magic in that town. Blake and Sarah's story was so sweet. They post have past trauma's that they are healing from and in a lot of ways, they're perfect for each other in how they help the other. Sarah is so down to earth. She has social anxiety as many of us do and that just made her so much more relatable to me.
Sarah finds herself in Willow Creek after running from her life, an accident that happened taking the life of a family member and fleeing her ex fiance'. As Sarah is Taren's best friend (Taren is from bk.1) and Blake is Zane's best friend (Zane from bk.1) they were bound to meet. He definitely fell first even though she was definitely attracted to him as well. I enjoyed the forced proximity of not only working together at the school, but also becoming neighbors. Definitely give this series a read. They're all soooo good.

I will always begin with saying, I love that Willow Creek found me. I'm in love with these romances and the fact they are all stand alone.

This is the second book and follows the story of Blake and Sarah. Blake is probably my favorite so far (I think I say that after every book 🤣) He is hunky and super wise. Can you ask for more!! Can we talk about the pining and slow burn!!

Blake knows what he wants and exubes confidence, not the cocky kind. The kind that comes from trials and understanding of your own life. Sarah has ran away to start a new life and hides most of her past. Only Blake has been successful in getting under her skin.

This book talks about a lot of different mental disabilities. The most would be suffering from anxiety and learning to live life with it's existence.

I would rate the spice 🌶️🌶️.5

Andrea has a gift for taking my least favorite tropes and making them into stories that I can’t put down. I hate insta-love but boy was I invested in No Surrender!

I think it was mainly because of how much I identified with and loved Sarah. And Blake won me over with his gentleness and how he was (mostly) careful with Sarah’s boundaries and didn’t push or pressure her to do things she wasn’t ready for.

I have to say, I didn’t like the part where they went catch and release fishing. They caught “barrels full” and just dumped the traumatized and injured fish back. This is needlessly cruel.

Overall, though, this was a really cute romance and I think fans of the genre will really have a good time reading it!

This is the second book by this author that I have read. I am happy to say that I enjoyed the second part of the series quite a lot. The writing was much better and I liked the plot. Both characters intrigued me enough to make me want to read more. Their relationship wasn't clichéd, and I felt it was a breath of fresh air.
Simply a good romance.

This book was so lovely to read revisiting the characters from the first book in Willow Creek. The two main characters are just so beautifully destined to be together and the passion between the characters is so hot. I loved this book can't wait to start book 3.

I related to Sarah so much. Anxiety ridden, not wanting to ask for help, shouldering every burden whether it’s hers or not. Then here comes Blake, perfectly suited and so patient. Actions speak louder than words, and this man was everything! My favorite of these series so far.
