Pretty easy recipes with delicious results. If you were lucky enough to be in the workroom when I brought the Pumpkin Butterscotch Chip cookies in, they were from this book.

This is an awesome cookie book. I haven't made one that I wouldn't remake, and I've made some more than once.

This cook book is one that freed me from thinking cookies should be small. Why not make a large cookie as a decadent treat?

Klivans is an accomplished baker and prolific cookbook author, as seen from her other works at EPL, Chocolate Cakes: 50 Great Cakes for Every Occasion and 125 Cookies to Bake, Nibble, and Savor. Intrigued by the very unsubtle title, I quickly skimmed through one delicious looking recipe for oversized cookies after another. The mark of a successful cookbook author in my mind is the combination of appealing recipes, very clear explanations, and attractive photos. Big Fat Cookies hits the target, from Chocolate Chip Stuffed (!) Cookies to Big-City Black and Whites to Lemon Whoopie Pies, Klivans presents tasty treats with a friendly, enthusiastic voice. I read this as an e-book and was surprised how absorbed I became in a digital cookbook. Warning to dieters: Big Fat Cookies is for serious noshing or celebrations only!

I received this book as a gift and I have to admit that I have never made anything from it. I have, however, read it numerous times. This is the only cookbook that doesn't live in my kitchen; instead, I treat it as aspirational reading.

I usually start at the beginning and read every recipe, marveling at the different kinds of cookies Elinor Klivans created and imaging how delicious they would be. Why don't I cook from it? I don't know. I don't want to get it dirty, perhaps. Or, more likely, I'll find out that my fantasy cookies are just cookies after all.

I purchased this book because I loved Cupcakes! by the author so much and the title was enticing. I wasn't disapointed. The book has great photographs and delicious recipies. I have made a handful of recipies and have been happy with each one. My fourth grade class loved the Chocolate Chip Stuffed Cookies so much that it became a fond memory of our year together. In fact, one student said it was his favorite memory of his time at my school!

This baking book gets a solid 5 stars! I have made almost everything in this book, and they all turned out great. If you enjoy baking, you will love this book.

My recommended recipe: the double chocolate chocolate-chip cookies. You won't be disappointed.

Worth it for just the chocolate chip stuffed cookies, the chapter on sandwich cookies, and the packaging tips for mailing alone. Also loved the idea, mentioned in passing, of a 'ccokie of the month club' i.e. sending cookies to loved ones every month. Lots of helpful tips throughout.

I am currently baking Elinor's Chocolate Chip-Stuffed Cookies. Every recipe I've tried from this book has been a resounding success. Buy this book in a hurry, and make any recipe! All these fat cookies are stellar.

A lot of great cookie recipes in here, with very appetizing pictures of the cookies. Some of my favorites include the vanilla butter rounds and the pumpkin cookies.

Good recipes but not so sure big cookies are the way to go for holiday sharing.

It has a nice layout but I was disappointed when I realized there was a photo only every four/five recipes.
