Rate this book
An ancient darkness awakens, and dragon riders heed the call in nine exciting novels of fantasy and adventure!

Seventeen-year-old Desiree Black has one goal—to discover the truth about what happened to her parents. Swept up in the Rebellion against the Spirit King, she quickly moves through the dragon rider ranks, drawing upon the explosive and unpredictable magical power she possesses—and has always feared—in order to protect her loved ones.

Young dragon rider Pieter Roser’s wounds run deep in the wake of the battle against the ancient darkness. His dragon, Gloriox, wants to help him heal. But when their travels bring them to Chamenos, they find that trouble has arrived ahead of them.

After a terrible shipwreck, rescue seems impossible for Del, a stowaway street rat; Etenia, a merchant’s daughter; and Lathan, a retired dragon rider. Especially when there’s a kraken lurking offshore, hungry for their only possible means of escape: dragon eggs they’re protecting. Yet the kraken answers to the even deadlier creature, lurking deep in the ocean

Queen of the Dragons Ava Richardson invites you to immerse yourself in a dragon-filled world with epic magic, fearless heroes, and the deep bond between dragon and rider. This boxset features the full Dragonspawn trilogy, the Last Dragon Riders trilogy, and the Qapira Awakening trilogy.

Ava Richardson writes epic page-turning Young Adult Fantasy books. She creates lovable characters and drops them into intricate worlds that are barely contained within your eReader. Ava has written 21 YA dragon fantasy series, including her bestselling series Return of the Darkening and her recent series, Destia's Dragon Shifter War.

She grew up on a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction books handed down from her two big brothers – and despite being dog-eared and missing pages, she loved escaping into the magical worlds that those authors created. Her favorites were the ones about dragons; where they’d swoop, dive and soar through the skies of these enchanted lands.

Dragon Riders Huge Box Set . . .

This boxset features the 💥DRAGONSPAWN TRILOGY, the 💥LAST DRAGON RIDERS TRILOGY, and the 💥QAPIRA AWAKENING TRILOGY! If that doesn’t make you want to soar through the air on the dragons’ backs, you need to take a closer look at this awesome box set! Below is a review from the DRAGONSPAWN TRILOGY to give you an idea of what you will find in this set. I went a little wild on this one, but it was so good and I wanted to get you as excited as I was reading it.

*** Reviewing “DRAGONSPAWN (Dragonspawn Trilogy #1)” ***
The audiobook I listened to for this review is narrated by Kim Churchill who will bring the story alive for you! Desiree Black (“Dez”) is afraid of her strength, not wanting to hurt people, yet with a strong desire to fulfill her destiny. Sparring with her older foster brother, Khan Roser, she hesitated then overcompensated with her wooden sword and ended up thrusting it hilt-deep in a cypress tree. Only her great strength let that happen and let her pull it out again. If she didn’t do better, the Rebellion captain who was watching from the sidelines would decide she wasn’t worth recruiting. She imagined drawing on the strength of the trees around her and it steadied her. The final attempt to impress the recruiter was about to start. She saw Khan’s face and knew what he would do. But once more, she feared her strength that could seriously injure him, and it made her hesitate.

Pieter, her younger foster brother then asked to join the sparring – but on Khan’s side against Dez, wanting her to show her full strength and to fight with instinct instead of hesitating and trying to hold back. She wanted to fight in the Rebellion to honor her dragon-rider parents and help stop the Spirit King. But once again, her fear of hurting them distracted her and Khan got the points he needed to be recruited for the Rebellion. What she feared was rumors that the Spirit King was sending recruiters this way, too, and if she didn’t leave with the Rebellion now, chances were good that she’d end up a conscripted soldier in Ashimax’s army which would be intolerable! She would have to somehow find another way to impress the recruiter that didn’t involve sparring.

Musing on her situation, she was surprised when Jaklin Moild and her pack of bullies came up behind her to mock her about her failure. Jaklin played with a knife in her hands. Dez knew she could fight all of them, but she didn’t want to hurt them. Jaklin threw a handful of swamp mud all over her, then the gang moved in and grabbed her roughly as they hurled her into a deep, bad-smelling bog. Jaklin kicked her hands every time Dez tried to get out of the bog. She feared the alligators would be drawn to the bloody dead duck carcass she spotted. Sure enough, she heard at least two of them and the bullies hurried away, leaving her to fend for herself.

With the alligators in pursuit and trying to cut off her escape, she ran deeper into the swamp until she tripped over a large rock. But the rock had purple veins that were actually glowing. Digging it out of the mud, she found it was larger than she realized and felt warm. Engrossed in her find, Dez did not hear the gator that began to lunge at her, mouth opened wide, until a walking stick smacked it on the head. The old “gator lady” had saved her, surprisingly lifting the rock out of the mud and handing it to her. Then she took Dez home with her to tell her about the “rock” she had found.

Another shock also awaited her when the old woman took off her disguise and told her she was her Aunt Lula Black! She also told her that her parents were the king and queen of Gald before Ashimax destroyed it—and that Dez was actually a princess. Lula was a dragon-rider and when she fell from her dragon’s back, she had a vision that a dragon rider would rise from the southern swamplands and become a great hero for the Rebellion. She knew that Dez would be that hero! And her rock with the purple veins was her destiny -- a dragon egg. Is this what she needed to join the Rebellion? Can she actually become a dragon rider with the help of her Aunt and fight for the Rebellion against the Spirit King?

This book is so amazing! It will grab the reader’s imagination and never let go! It flows so well that it feels as if you are living the story and not just reading it! Grab your copy and follow Dez’s amazing adventure to see if she is indeed the hero who will save the world from the Spirit King!

With three trilogies of dragons (nine books) to consume, this is going to keep you busy, and who doesn't want heaps of dragons? It starts with The Dragonspawn trilogy, with Desiree Black and a destiny much greater than she thought she would have. I loved the way magic occurs in these books, and I loved Desiree. Next is The Last Dragonriders trilogy, where it is Pieter's turn to shine and he has a quest to find Gloriox's niece. I like Gloriox, he is crabby, but so wise. Then the last trilogy is Qapira Awakening, where a street rat (Del) needs to bond to a dragon to try and so they can get off the island. A great boxset, with plenty of adventures to read.

Very good read!

I have a large collection of Ava Richardson's books. At first, I couldn't keep them straight as they all seemed to be the same story, so I stopped reading them for a while. This 9 book series was delightful because I got to enjoy 3 complete series that were very different and actually left me feeling like I could sleep at night without trying to add to the story in my dreams. They e ded perfectly! And there were only 2 typos that I found in the entire 9 book series! This was not a constant retelling of the same story! It was very good! Thank you!
I'm 76 and I love the "GOOD" dragon stories! Looking forward to reading other 9 book series!😃

Dragons? Did you say Dragons?

I have been a fan of dragons my whole life, but have never read stories that even came close to this wonderful magical world created by Ms. Richardson.

This collection is really three epic adventures in one box set. The characters are deep and likeable, and these tales are chock full of action, suspense, intrigue, magic, and yes Dragons. Tons of 'em!

If you enjoy this genre and haven't yet read this, work, you are missing out!

I adore Ava Richardson's book!

These books kept me reading all day until I fell asleep! Exciting is putting it mildly. Keeps my attention all the way through. There are a few errors but very easily skipped over when waiting for the next adventure!! Will be continuing to read many more!!!

better than I expected - book 1

This was one of those Facebook ads I was combing through about of finishing the last of the Sarah J. Maas books I had. My expectations were not high but I was pleasantly surprised. I really do love dragons and with a strong female lead and NOT needing to have a love interest, I’m off to enjoy book 2.

Absolutely wonderful

I loved everything about this book especially the trouble Del had dealing with his early life fierce and determined he battled his way thru his embittered feelings and came out on top against great odds. It just shows that we are in charge of our own destinies. We can either fight to overcome the negativity in our lives or succumb to bitterness.

well worth reading

Ava Richardson’s books are wonderful. They are so visually appealing. I love the humor that she injects even in the worst of times. Each story is unique and not cookie cutter. I can’ t wait to start another series.

A real good page turner. It was hard to put my tablet down.

For me the first book started off a little bit stale. But then they were so good it was hard to put down at all. And I even yelled at some of the characters , cried for them and was happy and excited for them.

This obviously was written as a YA series but it it was enjoyable and who doesn't love snarky Dragons and banter between the Dtahons and their riders..
