He wanted to discover who he was, but is he prepared for his destiny? Are any of them?
After the events of the unbinding, Jordan finds himself alone in Hell’s clutches with a new ruler in the Underworld, one set on causing chaos. Surrounded by enemies and with no means of escape, Jordan’s future is uncertain.
Meanwhile, in the depths of a Geneloom lab, Dane and Sophia struggle with their newfound inherited abilities. The only way out is if they learn how to control them, but mastering their skills means handing over immeasurable power to their captors.
All hope seems lost, especially with the angels missing, and as the Union of the Spheres draws closer, everything relies upon their return.
The only chance Jordan, Dane, and Sophia have at reuniting their found family is if everyone fights their own battles. But Lilith is on the loose and out for blood, and she has every intention of taking it.
In this epic conclusion to the Empyrean Trilogy, nothing is guaranteed. Will Jordan and his friends succeed in the final war, or will evil vanquish good once and for all?

Thanks to Divine Book Tours and Author for this Review copy in exchange for an honest review.
It is the final installment of The Empyrean Trilogy and unsurprisingly this book had too much to offer. Sometimes even too much 😄. The previous book ended on a cliffhanger so I was waiting for this to read. As expected, like the other finales, many things were going on. It is better to binge-read it because I forgot so many things and it took me a reasonable amount of time to find my bearings.
Angels are back in heaven and don't have any contact with the trio. Lilith is back with power and evil strategies. Jordan is trapped in hell and doesn't know what's happening to the other. The trio is struggling to accept their new identities and the changes and responsibility that come with them. It is interesting to see how everyone is dealing with the situation in a different way, Dane definitely surprised me. I really adored Dane and Sophia's dynamic, they both are definitely mature throughout the series.
The final war is looming and it is hard to differentiate between foes and friends. I am glad the story was told from various POVs which made it easy to keep track of all of the characters and their storylines. I find the writing a bit funny when everyone is discussing some serious problem with so much jargon and suddenly another chucks a comment in modern language. I really enjoyed those bits of the writing.
I like the way everything was winded up efficiently. Although the ending was a bit unhappening, I wish it was a bit more detailed. I really struggled in remembering all of the new heavenly characters as they all sounded almost the same 😄
The last book of "The Empyrean Trilogy" starts with the trio processing about their heritage. Angels were called back to Heaven to fight Lilith. So many secrets unraveling and everyone accepts their flaws. Characters development at peak. A lot happened but with an amazing pace. . I don't know where to start this review. I just finished it and decided to write the review in my best feels and I am internally sobbing. I could bet on this that if you binge-read it, you'd be feeling hollow from the inside after finishing. I devoured this series in 15 days (it was big okay?) but damn where those days went!!?? I feel like it wasn't enough I NEED MORE OF THEM. I already miss cinnamon Roll Jordan and artist Dane. I will be crying myself to sleep tonight. . So mysteries and secrets were kinda overwhelming and the classifications of their groups/teams were kinda hard to remember but I didn't focused on those much. I got the actual plot and I enjoyed it a lot that's what matters the most. . Humans except the trio got on my nerves so much, they felt so extra and useless, especially Naomi's parents. Like no one needs you guys here and to be honest, Sacrarium did nothing more than hide their identities and truth from everyone despite knowing so many things, which if they spotted in the first book everything would have been much easier. . There should be little more details about whether Abadonna found the cure to Hellfire or not, or even Naomi's father cause I was really curious about it even though I didn't like her much. Anyways the cure yes my boy Dane and Sophia would've been much at peace only if we got to see any cure. But if Abadonna mentioned that I am sure she will be successful o let me think of it as an open ending. . Overall, I would totally recommend this to everyone who likes to read fantasy and YA also wanna try something new even if you're a fan of Percy Jackson. YOU need to give it a try.
Thank you @divine_tours and @saramschallar for giving me the book in exchange for an honest review!
After that cliffhanger that killed me in the last book (lmao), I was waiting to read this so bad! First of all, this book was a great conclusion to the story. What I love about this series is the multiple pov, which shows us different scenes in different areas with different chaos happening everywhere haha. And since I am a sucker for found family in books, I LOVED the part where everyone united.
It is so weird when I think about the first time I started this series, I thought this series was just about Jordan and Satan was the main villain, and now we have a trio with Lilith as the main villain like, damn. The character development of the trio, their friendship with angels and everything aaaaaa I loved it so much.
The action in this book was well detailed and shown nicely. The whole book was a rollercoaster of emotions, with sadness, excitement and anxiousness keeping me hooked till the very end! I really appreciate the author adding a guide in the end of the book cuz I definitely forgot a lot of things since its been a while since I read the second book.
Thank you so much @divine_tours and Sara M. Schaller for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this tour and sending all three books with the book boxes.
I cannot fathom the fact that the series ended. I got attached to all the characters, like Jordan, Sophia, Dane, all the angels and even Satan, can you imagine? His character development happened gradually, throughout the three books, however, in the third book his character just surprised me even more because of drastic turn of events. There was literally a war brewing from the start and I was ready for it but so not ready for the story to end...you know what I mean? Obviously, I enjoyed every minute of the action scenes, the slow revelations of secrets and plots... all of it was just mindboggling.
Another thing, I loved was that this story does not only have your old school good vs evil clash, but what makes it better is that the author has highlighted the fare share of grey characters & events. It deals with the conflicted feelings you have inside and all the good & bad that defines you or a certain situation and you are literally trying to make sense of it.
So yeah, I would strongly recommend you all to give this series a shot and support the author.
I hardly know what to say. This was the most perfect and painful end for the trilogy I could ever have hoped to find. Much like school you learn, you grow, you have good times and bad and then almost before you know it, time is up and the group departs off to their next big adventure.
Where I normally hate multiple point of view here it worked with the information all being new and different. It really helped to keep the pace fast and it felt like each snippet was a scene that was building towards this huge crescendo.
Cons:
While it likely wouldn’t have made sense, part of me wanted the arch angels to have the choice on whether to remain on Earth or go back to heaven. It’s not wrong that they didn’t, I just really wanted them to get to continue the lives they had built now with the benefit of having a network of friends and family.
Thank you @divine_tours & @saramschaller, for choosing me as one of the hosts for The Empyrean Trilogy.
I have been associated with this series for 3 years now & when I finished reading the finale last night, I was saddened to reach the end of this journey. Just like the characters of the series, who felt gloomy for their celestial adventures coming to an end, but also happy to be a part of them, I had the similar emotions.
The Testament of Thirteen is definitely a fitting end to this captivating trilogy. I will be keeping my review as spoiler free as I can.
The ending of The Revelation of Three was a major cliffhanger, so this finale starts right from the revelation of what actually happened & the real identities of Jordan, Sophia & Dane. There was literally so much happening at the same time in Heaven, Hell & Earth that one gets anxious if the others will know about it or not, given all of them were separated.
The Great War is looming & tbh, Lilith with so much power was frightening. I will never get over the loss of THAT one angel, though. They all had to encounter so much torture & hardships and the reader gets to know their internal struggles intimately.
The intelligence of the archangels, their spontaneity, banter & humor, their grace & power along with their overall presence was beautifully written & one can't help but feel for Satan, as well. His sarcasm & remnants of being an angel was amazing. All the new characters that were introduced along with a labyrinth of secrets being revealed kept me hooked. There was never a dull moment.
It was a complete package as it covers war, its consequences, the battle between good & evil, the eternal struggle between light & dark, the control of powers/gifts, training & war strategies, the beautiful bond of never-ending friendships & forgiveness.
Lastly, I felt a little underwhelmed towards the end & felt like something is missing. However, the story connected all the dots. This whole experience of Angels (blessed & fallen), the Devil, the snake of Eden (Lilith), blood magic, demons, Sacrarium, Heaven, Hell & Purgatory with their detailed hierarchy, the search of keys & spheres, celestial objects, the fractions of Faith & all others was wonderful.
It's an adventurous journey about good vs evil, with a touch of fantasy in a modern day setting with amazing friendships & high stakes, This superior heaven and hell fantasy series comes to a satisfying and epic conclusion. As in many of the strongest ongoing series, moments of reunion and parting prove as exciting as scenes of climactic combat. Yet the action keeps things lively. Blood magic, throat slitting, and teleportation are all part of the story. So are mythological figures, like Cerberus, and the different cities of hell. Such a combination of details makes for an absorbing and wondrous world of supernatural battles. I have enjoyed all the action that came through and whilst there was tragedy in this book meanwhile, in the depths of a Geneloom lab, Dane and Sophia struggle with their newfound inherited abilities. The only way out is if they learn how to control them, but mastering their skills means handing over immeasurable power to their captors. in this final volume of the Empyrean Trilogy, Jordan, Sophia, and Dane have faced dire odds before, but this time one’s literally in Hell, while the others, now winged and imbued with unfathomable power, are held captive by forces committed to controlling them rounded and engaging as he faces a fascinating challenge What a finale! I loved finding out about the originals of Sophia, Dane and Jordan. This book is the last in the series, cannot believe this series is coming to an end It is truly said that reading books takes you places. When one is physically not traveling, books can take you on an adventurous ride of imagination. When you can pick up a book, read it and become filled with clarity on things not even directly said I consider it profound. That is exactly the kind of thing that will happen when you read the pages of this book.
It's always a special pleasure to read the final book in a good story. The Testament of Thirteen is simply compelling. Angels and demons, humans and beyond, all struggling to survive and conquer. I enjoyed the first book, loved the second book and this last one is absolutely a must.
The narrative style is short-quipped, almost automatic at times, which in turn makes the reading swift and engaging. Other times it touches on some significant issues and becomes moving. Also, it's very visual like a film script. It gains momentum as it delves into the plot with a sense of humor and sweeping relationships.
Overall, I found it strong-paced, intriguing and even surprisingly twisty. I enjoyed myself because the plot and the dialogues caught my attention all the time. They're brimming with alliances being forged and the criss-crossing of characters, battle strategies and spilling of secrets, and some very cool tricks.
The young humans ended up in a pickle in the previous book, so now I was desperate to know their outcome. It does not disappoint. Really, this chapter just flies with waves of things happening non-stop and with all the characters teetering on the edge of razor-sharp danger and pain. My favourite is still Satan, what can I say? However, seeing all the angels and enemies and people just interacting so wildly was fantastic.
Exotic locations, intricate devices and gripping fight choreography just come to ornament a tale of love and war, of intense bonds put to the test and angelic lore that's tempting to believe. I'm very happy I came across this trilogy. It's been an adventure!
Highly recommended for urban fantasy lovers, filled with found family and sweet romance as well as angels and demons!
I appreciate the small recap at the beginning of this book since this book started right after that huge cliffhanger from the previous book.
The story is packed with lots of action scenes and told in multiple POVs which add more perspective from various characters; the good, bad and the one in between.
This one also provide the answers for all the questions I've been wondering since the first book. Although, I have to admit the part where all the characters got together and explain their parts got me confused a bit. So many characters and I have difficulties in remembering who's who.
I adore the characters in this series, they've grown so much (in power and personality) throughout the series, especially the trio main characters - Jordan, Sophia and Dane. I also love their relationship with the angels and I teared up a bit when I read that ending!
Overall, it's a good ending for The Empyrean trilogy. It's been a great adventure with these characters and I really enjoy reading them! I'm looking forward for future books from this author.
Thank you to Divine Book Tours and Sara M Schaller for sending this e-ARC. I'm leaving this honest review voluntarily!
All three of them got to know who they are and suddenly the angels disappeared. Their purpose on the earth was completed and they were called back to the heaven. But they don't want to be here, they want to be with those three kids and they see everything in heaven is now out of their comfort zone as they left it for a long time. When the three kids were getting to know who they are, all of them were attacked and brought to different places. Jordan in hell, Sophia and Dane in the Geneloom office, a experiment centre. Now they have different powers and they don't know how to deal with them. Dane is the child of Satan and Lilith. Lilith created him without the knowledge of Satan. Here everyone tried to get back together and fight with everything against Lilith.
The story is so long and it's hard to summarise them in a short passage, so I left a lot of information. But if I tell everything what will you read right? Trust me and read this series okay? This whole series was such a journey for me and when I finished it I was like what am I gonna do now? I want more of them. In this last book, everyone came together, every character came forth and fought Lilith. But here we got to know that Satan is not the actual Evil. Lilith is. Satan fought together with them.
I have been waiting for this book for a long time and finally the author managed to send me: The Testament of Thirteen, the 3rd book of The Empyrean Trilogy. The cover is just wowwww. 🤩 I had to go back to the second book to recall the story and then continue with the new one. The war still continues! Jordan, Sophia, and Dane try to get used to their new identities and responsibilities. The struggle to dominate the evil is long and difficult, but they try to end it as best as they can. I liked that the story was told from each points of view of the characters. Secrets, mysteries, fights, powers, magic, action, all included in this book. The fight between good and evil, control of powers and gifts was difficult for the fantastic trio. This trilogy has been one of the fantasy genres that really made me enter its world and travel around it together with the characters. The world of angels created by the author will remain in my mind for a long time. 🌎 4.5 ⭐️
Author Sara M Schaller has created an amazing series allowing readers into her world of angels. This book, the last in the series, provides readers another adventure with all of these characters while at the same time bringing a conclusion to Jordan’s journey of finding out about his origins and those of his friends. It is a fast paced read, picking up from book two and launching readers into action immediately. Sara’s use of multiple points of view makes the telling of this trilogy even more intriguing, affording readers the opportunity to analyze this story from a variety of perspectives. There are poignant moments in this book that will resonate with everyone, creating connections and correlations that will evoke readers to ponder over the world that has been created by Schaller, long after they have read this series.
I loved this book so much! My friend Rene recommended this book series to me calling it a mix of Supernatural and National Treasure and that was spot on!
The worldbuilding, the characters, the whole atmosphere of the book, the pacing and the plot were all simply amazing!
It has mysteries, adventures and even some romance and it's all done so well!
I feel a bit sad now that I finished reading it because I will miss the characters. But this book series will definitely be a series that I will reread so I know they're there on my shelf!
And with that, the Empyrean Trilogy comes to an end... 🥺
This got to be my fav book from the series... It was such a happening book. The secrets revealed and stories shared answered all the queries... It was like everything finally made sense... The plot was amazing and thoughtfully executed.. Loved it
As this era draws to a close, I echo your sentiments—it’s the end of an enchanting journey. The Empyrean series, meticulously crafted by Sara M. Schaller, has left an indelible mark. Let’s delve into the magic that unfolded:
Character Alchemy: The characters, meticulously written and thoughtfully developed, became more than ink on pages. They breathed, loved, and bled. Their struggles resonated, and their growth felt like witnessing old friends evolve.
Fantasy in Our Century: The fusion of fantasy with our contemporary world added a layer of intrigue. Dragons soared alongside skyscrapers, and magic danced in the shadows of city streets. It was an adventure that blurred the lines between realms.
Angels and Demons: Beyond supernatural beings, they became family and friends. Angels grappled with their celestial duties, and demons wore their humanity like armor. Their complexities tugged at our hearts, making us suffer and celebrate alongside them.
For urban fantasy lovers seeking a tapestry of magic, emotion, and otherworldly connections, The Testament of Thirteen is a must-read.
