Lightning Dragons

Rate this book
Once again we are returning to the world of Dragons. This is the first of three novels about the return of the Lightning dragons. As with all stories of magic and romance, nothing is easy. Especially when it involves a witch hating dragon called Royce and a special female called Tori, who has no idea of her legacy or her potential.

Throw in a dangerous enemy and our friends at Dragon’s Gap have their hands full once more, and that is even before the witches arrive. Of course, Frankie and Sage are right in the middle of it all, trying to make sense of the brewing trouble.

When Sage learns she must return to visit her uncle, she requests the Leo to accompany her. Conor is less than enthusiastic to comply, but when he learns of the reason why she needs to see Robard, he quickly agrees.

Reighn has to return to Basilka and persuade the fortress, home to the Lightning dragons, to return to Dragon’s Gap. It surprises him to learn there are Ancients on Basilka and they want a boon from Reighn, which he is unsure he can grant.

More dragons, more witches, and definitely more mayhem. This is Dragon’s Gap. I enjoy writing and hope you enjoy reading. Book two and three will follow soon.

I have read all DRAGON GAP SERIES but I’m confused by this series

Yes it was nice to catch up and all the DRAGON GAP. series characters.
But this book was hard to read. It reads not like a book but a tv show screen play with mostly 3rd part pov narration .. jumping back & forth with one on one conversations. It’s written weird and discombobulated. And it is definitely not a stand alone, to follow it you most definitely need to read the DRAGON’S GAP series. I read the series and I felt so lost. The original series kinda felt that way too. It felt like author was rushing through the opening with a scrambled brain trying to get the story started but also trying to remind us where we left off in DRAGON’S GAP it’s like the authors mind and story is racing through their head so fast they can’t get it down in words fast enough and the convos & storyline get scrambled. And they lose their place often and forget things like. A person whom has never been mentioned before all of a sudden in in the room and you are like “who is this and where did they come from?” and .. “why were they not mentioned before now?” Ie: STANVIS. Is all of a sudden in the room and the other characters are talking with each other and boom stanvis starts up . Talking .. I’m like wait who is he and when did he walk in the room was he already there and why has he not been mentioned or spoke before now.. it’s soo weird . I felt dizzy reading and often have to go back and reread things to see if I somehow missed something and nope, not me.. the author sure did though. I honestly would have given up. On DRAGON’S GAP & THIS NEW SPIN OFF but the story is good ..it’s just well, I hate to say this but, this author really needs a good editor or needs to get someone else to rewrite…because the rambling on and such needs to makes more sense and seriously get rid of the. 3rd pov Narration it’s just bizarre . Pick one please, are you writing a screen play? a book? It’s scatterbrained, discombobulated schizophrenic and bi polar. It so hard to follow at times, I feel like I’m being told the story by two different people while I’m reading it. But if you can sift through the fodder and finds some clarity it’s a really good and exciting story. Just wish it was written and presented better.
No I’m not being mean .. read yourself and you’ll see exactly what I mean. It’s the weirdest manner of writing I’ve ever encountered. By any author and you should know I am an avid reader and devour on average 300-400 books a year. By a wide variety of artist. though, I only started kindle digital books 2019 when Covid hit. I also alpha read for an author TAYLOR SPRATT. And beta read for several other authors. I’ve never read a book or series written quite like this before. so many times I nearly just gave up it’s so disorganized like the authors thoughts are racing too far ahead and they can’t get the words down fast enough. Before forgetting things and then droning on in far too much inner monologuing while in narration mode. Just bizarre. Again good story very enthralling and. I want to know the ending and what happens next. so yeah, I’ll still read on . But I literally have to stop often and take breaks just to process what I read. To take it in. And digest it . I read a few chapters and I’m bloated with too much discombobulated information. It needs to “digest”. Never had to do that with other books oh I take that back there was one author who wrote like this I encountered a few years ago …. But I stopped reading her books The story line and plot was . Full of so many holes a colander could hold more water. So I stop reading her. Don’t remember her name. Yes I will read the next in series need to know if Clint is ok and these evil witches need to be stopped. The stone needs to be destroyed! For all magical species & humanity. Oh and btw .. I was stunned when I discovered BASALIKA . was not a realm on earth but another planet all together. That was not made clear before until one of the characters told another character specifically .. and there was no world building so I have no idea what BASALIKA is like at all. Nothing zero nada nit zilch. That is a problem.. especially when. It plays so heavily in this & next book .. just saying. You may want to take that into consideration.

Been waiting for this book for AGES LOL at least that's how it seemed. Now to wait for the next books ☹️.

This book was everything the Dragons Gap books have proven to be time and time again. Full of excitement and drama and love and family but most of all MAGIC! I can't wait for the next books in this amazing exciting series.

Dragon's Gap, YAY!

I love the Dragon's Gap Books. They have it all. Comedy, drama, romance and action are all in each book.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that at the end it says to read book 2.
I am not a fan of continuations or cliff hangers. All the other
DG books are a whole story in themselves, they interconnect
but can be read alone.

Worth the wait

It seems such a long time since the last Dragons Gap book, but this was worth the wait. All new intrigue with a devastating enemy who has some truly awful minions. And a new gang of heroes looking to defeat them.

Lightning Dragons by L.M. Lacee

This is a continuation of the Dragon Gap series. It was just a good as the previous books. This one had more intrigue and characters all wrapped around a stone that evil witches possess. Can’t wait to see what the next one brings.

Awesome, totally loved the story and again was not disappointed. When reading these books, I feel if I have been transported to Dragon's Gap and become part of the town. Always sad when I finish and return to real life. Escaping into a book, couldn't ask for anything more.
