Sometimes, the one you need was right in front of you all along.
Rider doesn’t have a lot of rules when it comes to guys, but there is one- he doesn’t date, not ever. He’s content with random hookups because dating means too much. That’s reserved for the one person he knows he can never have, his best friend, Cameron.
After watching his own family fall apart, Cam longs for someone who will stick it out through thick and thin. He’s had a string of girlfriends that never seem to be the right one. The one person he can always count on is Rider.
One night out changes everything between them. When Rider ends up telling Cam the secret he’s been hiding, Cam is left reeling. But will an accident end Cam’s chances to figure out what it means for them?
The Love Bank Romance series features stand-alone stories that can be read individually, but I recommend reading the series to see your favorite characters again.
She loves reading and writing stories that show that love isn't defined by gender. She writes sweet romance with fun heat, adorkable characters, and is a sucker for an HEA.
She lives in Southern California with her family, 2 dogs, and 3 cats, and loves to give out free hugs at pride events.
Duckie loves to interact with readers and is most active on instagram @authorduckiemack
There were a few interactions between the MCs that I thought were sweet, but overall I'm not feeling this story and there's something about the writing that's not clicking with me.
I kept reading because I was curious to see how Rider and Cam would get together, but that first physical contact between them after only a few days of Cam learning how Rider felt? I don't think so.
***I received an Arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.***
A perfectly sweet love story is my initial reaction after reading this lovely friends-to-lovers story. Rider and Cam are easy to love and seeing how their relationship evolves over the course of this story was great to read about.
I enjoyed the setup for this story. Rider and Cam are polar in personality and their presentation. Rider is comfortable and honest with his sexuality and desires but does not do commitment. Meanwhile, Cam is a shy and nerdy guy who has never had any desires for guys. His closest relationship is with Rider and his realization of his long-hidden true feelings for Rider was my favorite aspect of this story.
Rider and Cam share a strong connection with one another and seeing their natural chemistry evolve from friends to lovers was perfectly executed. I loved reading this adorably sweet story and look forward to more in the Love Bank Series.
3.5 ⭐️ This was so cute, and really sweet! Just a feel good story about the gay best friend in love with his (not so) straight best friend.
The MCs were adorable, the side characters were fun, there is very low angst. Not very exciting or memorable, but a really fun sweet fluffy romance. I’ll definitely read the next one in the series!
Again, I wished GR would allow 1/2 stars 😕 Anyway, 3,5 stars for this sweet, lovely and enjoyable story.
This is the story about Cameron and his best friend Rider. They come from different backgrounds - Rider has an alcoholic father who couldn't care less about his son, Cameron a loving family, who gladly accepts Rider as their son's best friend, and since he spends so much time with them, it almost feels as if he is a bonus son to them.
Since he knew he was gay, Rider has never hidden it. But the fact that he was in love with Cameron all those years, was his deepest secret. He doesn't want to do relationships because of that. Because there is always this tiny bit of hope that, one day, Cameron will realize he is in love with Rider as well. Cameron has girlfriends while Rider only has hookups.
Then one night it all comes clear, and from that moment on Cameron, as confusing as he feels, starts to look differently at his best friend. Realizing a couple of things, finding answers to a couple of questions he never asked himself, but that are somehow surfacing after Rider's confession.
This is a lovely, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers story. Well written and a real enjoyable read. I was invested in their story, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the first part more than the second half of the book, and I can't quite put my finger on why. I was happy to see there wasn't a misunderstanding that caused them to break up, or the cliched miscommunication, but still it felt like something was missing? Maybe things went a little too smoothly, were a little too sweetly? That's all on me, though! All in all, I spent an enjoyable time in this story and I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something sweet and romantic, something low angst and slow burn, some bisexual awakening and some heat. The writing was engaging and I look forward to more books from this author.
I kindly received an ARC from the author and this is my honest, voluntary review
A Gorgeous, Fast-paced, Emotional & beautiful Friends-to-lovers MM New-Adult Romantic-Comedy with Heat, Passion, Beloved friendship, Music, Truths, United, Goofy banters, Steam & feels, Care, New start, Together, Hope, Love & HEA. Cam & Rider stole my heart!! I love this well-written story & it's characters! #My 1st by Duckie & I'll so be going for more😍. DEVOURED this within 6hrs.
This was really sweet and cute. No real angst between them. It was pretty easy, so if you like more conflicting emotions of the gfy, you won't really find it here. And things happen pretty fast between them, but I didn't care. It was what I needed, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
This is a lovely story about friends, Rider and Cam, who have been through so much but always have been there for each other. Rider has been secretly pining for his straight best friend, Cam, since he first met him. He’s had to watch Cam have relationships with girls while he just hooks up with guys, never doing more and never getting even close to serious with anyone else. He only wants Cam.
I think the progression of these guys going from friends to lovers was done very well. It was believable that Cam could have feelings for Rider but never acknowledge it. I loved how he didn’t ever freak out about Rider’s confession. It was natural and lovely.
I did like the first half of the book a bit more. I think that once they got together things were too sweet and easy. I didn’t want a breakup but I also thought their inner thoughts were just on repeat. I do like some angst in my books so that is all just my personal thoughts.
The star naming was adorable!!! I loved it!
Overall this story really was beautiful. The author writes a very lovely story and I am looking forward to Ian/Crow’s book!
First half I’d give 4 stars Second half I’d give 3
**ARC received for my honest review **All thoughts and opinions are my own
By now, I hope everyone understands how big of a sucker I am for friends-to-lovers. Especially when it comes to lifelong best friends who are as close as family. The sweetness, the tension, the secret pining, the overanalyzing every little thing and doubting, because is it what I read it as, or is it a projection of the unyielding wishful thinking?
This story provided that, and so much more. It brought comfort even in the ugly aspects (in regards to the personal history, not the relationship itself).
Cam and Rider were precious, as was what they had (even before they dived into the full potential of what they could have). I'm keeping this short because I don't really have much thoughts to spill, everything can be summarized in simple words. This was a beautiful story, one that it's rare for me to find, that touches my soul and hugs my heart.
It took me forever to finish this one, because I fell into a slump mid-read (but the fault in this development is entirely my own mind's, not the book at all).
2.5 stars rounded up. Spoilers ahead I’m not hiding.
This was easily going to be a solid four star book but ONE SCENE ruined it for me.
Seriously this book was so cute. The bi-awakening was done well, they had a really sweet friendship and connection, the nickname thing with Cam was one of the cutest things I’ve ever read. The star thing was precious. Their declarations were precious.
But you cannot write the very first scene where these two are intimate… literally the first time the awakening guy has kissed a dude, let alone anything else…
And have him take a dick in the same breath. Never been with a guy, never touched a guy, and the other MC stuck a finger in him and put on a condom and was like “is this ok?” And I was screaming at my phone like…. What is happening?! It was REALLY uncomfortable to read, too.
Then AFTER that, there was “I don’t want to push you” “are you ok with this?” when he touched the guy. Uh. That ship is sailed bro when you stuck your dick in a virgin ass literally the day the dude realized he liked a guy.
And I’m MAD because the rest of the book is fuckin CUTE. It was totally heavy on internal dialogue, one of my biggest pet peeves, and I was willing to let that go because this book is SO CUTE.
But that scene… I’m gonna be pissy about that for a while.
But I’m still going to read the next books and hope this author made some better decisions 🥴
3.5 stars It hurts Rider, he’s Cam’s best friend and nothing more. And they are already for a long time. Rider has deep feelings for his straight friend. That’s the reason he only does hookups with guys and never dates.
Cam’s girlfriend just broke up with him, for a reason he can’t tell Rider.
After one night, where secrets are told, they can’t go back to where they were. What follows is a lot of thinking and feeling and consideration about being straight or maybe not.
A super sweet story with two best friends. Both their feelings were palpable, the hurt, the confusion, the love. Cam and Rider are fun, kind, and adorable. It’s an easygoing story with some attractive side stories. The title is awesome when you understand the meaning behind it. Overall a captivatingly written story.
Rider has had a hopeless crush on his best friend Cam for years, but it's totally one-sided because Cam is straight. Except, perhaps he isn't, because since breaking up with his girlfriend Cam's been thinking differently about Rider, and realising he has actually thought differently about Rider for a long time...
All the Stars is an incredibly sweet, fluffy, low angst romance between established best friends Rider and Cam. The storyline involves Cam's growing awareness of his bisexuality, and Rider's growing tolerance of vulnerability when supported by the emotional stability of his best friend. I really believed in the best friendship between Rider and Cam, and I especially loved how emotionally open Rider is with Cam compared to everyone else's perspective of him. They have a lovely relationship and I loved the emphasis on care and trust between them throughout the novel. I'm very much looking forward to continuing this series.
I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This is a sweet and sexy new adult romance. Best friends Rider and Cam are opposites who love each other deeply. The only problem is that Cam doesn’t quite realise what kind of love he feels for his best friend.
The sexual tension between Rider and the clueless Cam is painfully intense. Rider is the perfect bad boy with a soft heart while Cam is relatively ordinary and slightly geeky. I really enjoyed Cam’s journey of self-discovery. I’m not sure that someone who surrounds himself with LGBT friends could ever be quite as clueless as Cam - but I wanted to believe in his story. Between his backstory and perfect unrequited crush, I fell hard for Rider.
This is my first time reading this author and I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series. My only reservation about this book is that both men feel really young. They are mid twenties but feel more like characters caught somewhere between YA and NA. I’m sure this will appeal to some readers but it threw me a little.
5 Shiny Ass Gold Stars! An incredibly sweet, friends to lovers romance that I could not put down. Cam and Rider’s relationship exemplifies everything you’d ever want a relationship to be. I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
GENRE/TROPES: MM, Contemporary POV: 1st, Dual SERIES: Love Bank Romance, Book 1 STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥 🅁🄰🅃🄸🄽🄶: ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️
I adored this medium-angst, best friends-to-lovers, MM Romance. Rider was the bad boy with a soft heart and Cam was the geeky straight guy living in denial.
Friends since middle school, Rider has been in love with his best friend since the day he first saw him. He lives his life with casual hookups and a dark secret. Cam prefers relationships. He cares for each of the women he dated but something always felt off. When Rider exposes his secret, Cam must decide if he’s willing to take the leap of a lifetime or lose the most important man in his life.
Filled with witty banter, laughs, self-discovery, acceptance, and lots of refreshing sexy times, All the Stars will leave you feeling high on love as you watch two best friends become lovers for life.
So many geeky references from TV shows to Magic 8 Balls and I loved it all because it reminded me of the 90s! These guys had such a tormented yet profound friendship and it was just breathtaking to watch it progress into love.
Overall Opinion This was my first experience with Duckie's books and colour me impressed! This was such a sweet and loving story between two best friends who realise their friendship is more than that of a friendship. The humour and banter between Cameron and Rider is perfect and funny, and the side characters were awesome! Watching these two come to terms with their feelings and consistently wondering will they-won't they, was such a great experience and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! This is a slow-burn with so much love and passion and leaves you feeling whole inside at the end. Overall I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and this was enjoyable sweet fun read!
Read if you like: ❣️ M/M Romance ❣️ Friends-to-Lovers ❣️ Bi-Awakening ❣️ Goofy Banter ❣️ Sweet with Heat ❣️ HEA!
I had heard this book was the absolute sweetest, and it is, but it’s why I didn’t expect any angst/conflict at all. However, that’s not true. Rider has been in love with one man forever. He can’t even bring himself to date because he’s so in love. Hookups? Sure. But nothing beyond that. Cam, so far, has only dated women but there’s an undercurrent bubbling below the surface: Cam isn’t opposed to dating a man, it’s just not really occurred to him to do so. I think this is a very real phenomenon for some of us who are Bi/Pan. Society “assumes we are straight” and we (apparently) vary from there. We find ourselves parading toward our opposite gender, and it works because, well, we are attracted to the opposite gender. Then one fine day, we meet our first love from the same gender and wham, it hits us: I’m not straight and I never have been. I really got these vibes from Cam, and I liked them a lot. It resonated for me. This was unique as it’s not explored in quite this way in a lot of books I’ve read, and I loved the way the author approached it.
Meanwhile, Rider is kind of a mess—I mean that fondly. He’s so in love but he thinks he doesn’t stand a chance with the only person he truly wants. It’s endearing how he never waffles on his heart’s desire even “knowing” this. He doesn’t date because he loves Cam—that’s the way it is and it’s the way it will be. He doesn’t think twice about it until he does. It’s almost like there’s a shift in the universe and suddenly the bedrock has given way making it impossible for him to find the ground he once walked—the ground that allowed him to love unrequited and be okay with it. Now there’s just aching and desperate longing he can no longer bear. Only one man can cure his heartbreak, but that man isn’t an option.
So yeah, see? Angst. Beautiful, delicious angst. The angst was mild to medium for me, but I know this is person to person dependent. In any case, I loved the level for a delightful read. But, BUT if you’ve come for the sweet and tenderness like I did, Oh My Lanta, don’t worry, you’re gonna get that. I don’t want to spoil but let’s just say there are stars purchased and adorable nicknames used and a few other surprises.
This story is an exploration from the point of view of Cam and a story of Saudade from Rider’s point of view (because he’s just incomplete and melancholy without Cam). Some great side characters in this story it looks like we’ll see in the next book. I enjoyed the read, the themes, and these characters. I think you will love it and leave feeling joyous!
I got an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review. Cam and Rider... What a couple!!! Love them. When Cam thought: "I would have given him anything he asked for. My Heart, my soul, my body, my blood..." I wonder if my husband has ever thought about me in the same way... Wow! Amazing! There's only one thing I did not like: during their first time together, I would have preferred if Cam, as the former "straight guy", wouldn't have gone all in and bottom for Rider just after the first kiss with the guy, even if It was Rider. Apart from this, the book is wonderful. I can't wait for the second one, Ian/Crow deserves his HEA.

Rider and Cam have been best friends for a very long time. Rider has been in love with Cam since they were 13 but Cam doesn't know that. While Cam has had a few girlfriends, Rider never dates and that's because the only person he wants to date is Cam. Rider is struggling with the fact that he wants to tell Cam that he likes him but he is also scared that if he tells Cam he will lose his best friend.
All The Stars is a simple and cute story about discovering your sexuality and the stuggle of whether you should their your friend you're in love with them or not. The writing is very pleasant to read and the pacing of the story is not going too fast or too slow. To be honest, I felt like a lot of cliché things happened, which isn't a bad thing. I love cliché things from time to time but if that is not your thing, I have warned you ;).
One thing I also loved about All The Stars is side character Ian. I think he is adorable and funny. I also heard he is going to be the main character in the next book of this series. Another thing I loved and made me laugh out loud is all the nicknames Rider gave Cam and there many!
I give All The Stars 4.5 stars! It is an easy read and I enjoyed it very much. The more I read about Rider and Cam the more I fell in love with them. If you are looking for a sweet love story, I recommend you this one.
This was really cute and fluffy and to be honest just what I needed, been in a reading slump a bit the last few weeks and this has helped get me out of it. The only complaint I have is this could really do with an extra 100-150 pages to develop the characters / story a little more. It didn't feel rushed, I just feel we could have more details about things going on and a bit more back story. If this got a re-write and was longer I would read it.
I liked the characters, Rider have a hundred different nicknames for Cam was very sweet and you really believe in their friendship. The romance / relationship is developed well enough for the length of the novel. The spice was an added surprise I didn't expect and was written well, I love any book where conversations about consent happen and the characters use lube - It doesn't break the immersion of the scene or sound weird or out of place, these are conversations and things that happen with real people, particularly in the queer community.
Overall this was fun and cute and I will be reading the next one that focuses on Ian, a side characters in this one.
I wanted to love this book so much, but I couldn't, and can't tell you why, it just wasn't for me.
I love the author's book under her other pen name, so I thought this book will be a blast, but it wasn't interesting for me at all. Friends to lovers and bisexual awakening, sounds good, right? It was sweet and innocent but still in a YA/NA setting. Don't get me wrong, I like YA&NA books, but this time I thought it would be different, something hotter and sexier, but it was just lukewarm three star.
I missed the emotions and couldn't get close to the characters. And the worst, from the cover and the title, I thought there will be more star-stuff... ?? I'm sorry that I have to say this, but I thought this book will be more and better, I'm sad.
The performance of the narrators in this story is possibly why I felt a disconnect to the characters. The person who narrated Cam's voice was very stilted with long pauses between sentences. Rider's narrator was not as bad but they both delivered very wooden performances. No kind of emotion whatsoever. Just not what I'm looking for in audio narrators.
As to the story, it was ok. It was friends to lovers with Cam having a sort of bi-awakening. Rider was always in love with his best friend and spent years hiding it. Cam was oblivious to Rider's feelings until one night changed everything . I think the transition between the two was too easy. Once it was there it all became very sticky sweet. No type of conflict and I guess I needed a little something more.
3.5 stars - Best friends to lovers/bi-awakening story. It does flirt with some of the negative issues those books can have, but never fell on the egregious side for me. Also, the stakes for the gay character (Rider) are high if he gives it a shot and it doesn’t work out, so his reticence worked for me. The accident did provide an impetus for Cam to stop spiraling about any crisis of sexuality and take care of his friend, and that just sealed the deal. Soup-making and silly nicknames were icing on the cake.
(Caveat: I did not buy that their first sexual encounter would have gone the way it did — you’ve been friends for ten year, you can build up a bit more. However, I read this bc I got the sequel for free, and I’m excited to read that now!)

All The Stars is a fluffy, best-friends to lovers m/m romance with a HEA.
This book was too cute! No angst here, just a one sided crush that is not actually one sided, and lots of humor. Cam and Rider are so cute with each other, even the steamy parts are sweet. And I love the side characters too, can't wait for Ian's story.
If you're looking for a super sweet m/m romance, pick up this quick read for a fun, fluffy story!
Well I guess the cat jumped out of the bag! Duckie Mack is none other than the talented and inspiring Debbie McQueen. But if you're a fan of Debbie you would have guessed it right away because her writing is so unique. But Duckie is a little more daring and she knows how to fog up your glasses with all the steaminess.
I was one of the lucky ones who got to read the very first chapter and I immediately loved Camelot and Ri-Ri! You can't help yourself! It's Duckie's fault. All her characters is just so loveable and you just want to become besties with all of them!
After I read that first chapter, I was constantly nagging her to send me more teasers. I just had to know what was going to happen. I chewed off all my nails while I had to wait and wait for Duckie to get her ducks in a row (I know, I'm hilarious!) and finish this story!
I got so frustrated with these two boys! I just wanted to smash their heads together and yell at them to kiss already! They were obviously made for each other! I love the fact that they had this solid friendship to build their relationship on but my heart bled for poor Ri-Ri! I just wanted to hug my baby and keep him save!
Another thing I absolutely adored about these 2 boys were their banter. It's obvious that Duckie had a great sense of humor and it reflects in the way Cam and Ri joke around with each other. I don't want to spoil anything but their first time was written so beautifully that I got chills. And yes, I cried! I couldn't help myself! It was so raw and full of emotion.
Our family delivers food to about 30 families a week so the Love Bank felt like a second home to me. There's so many people who struggle to put food on the table and I loved that fact that Duckie made it such a huge part of the story. It's such an important reminder - it's our duty to help those in need because one day they will be able to help others.
This is the 3rd MM book series I've read and I can honestly say that it's becoming one of my favorite genres. And I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of the Love Bank volunteers.
All the Stars is a sweet friends-to-lovers novel with a slow-burn MM romance in it. Taking place in the world today, All the Stars follows two best friends through dual perspectives as they navigate life as new adults, relationships and discovering who they are.
Cameron and Rider have been best friends since walking into each other's lives at 13 years old and made an instant connection. Rider grew up in a not so stable home and Cam's home because a refuge for him. Rider has known he was gay since he was 15, and has been harbouring a flame for Cam since forever. Rider is a bad boy with a heart of gold. I absolutely adore him. Cam, after another failed relationship, leans on his best friend for comfort and the stability that has always been there. After taking things too far after being harassed, secrets are spilled and everything thinks he knows comes crashing down.
This book takes place in our world, a contemporary fiction. The writing is very true to what it feels like to discover part of yourself is not what you thought. All the Stars is full of sweetness, tension, overthinking and doubting that comes with a new discovery about yourself and entering into a new relationship. It also has that little pinch of spice that I love. As the story unfolds and you learn more about these two characters, you'll definitely fall in love. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Bo Next Door.
A special thank you goes out to Duckie for providing me a copy of this book for review!
When it's a slow-burn Friends to Lovers story with such contrasting personalities and some cute star gazing thrown in, I was sold. I don't read a lot of friends to lovers, but this book hit a lot of right notes for me. Check TW before you pick this up. . My Rating : 🌟🌟🌟🌟 [4/5] . All the Stars follows our main characters : Rider who is out, confident and is totally in love with his best friend; and Cam who is shy, trusting and never seem to find his 'The One'. And when some truths gets accidentally spilt, things take a turn. Bothe the characters had such strong friendship and trust between them that it was really beautiful to see them become more to each other. Their contrasting personalities made it for an interesting ride. . Coming to the storyline and the characters, the author has done a great job with the besties to lovers transition and it seemed gradual and real. Cam took his time to comr to his own conclusions and Rider was such a cinnamon roll ! I especially loved the Star gazing scene and the meaning behind their special outings. Although I felt like a few scenes could have been done a different way, it was a solid book and I especially loved that ending!! (I am salty because there was no drama 🤣 ) But it's a good thing honestly. . If you are a fan of dorky characters getting their HEA with some steam, slow burn, bisexual awakening, and a whole lot of adorableness, then this is for you!! The writing was simple but very complimenting to the story and you'll definitely fall in love with star gazing once you finish the book ! . Thank you @gayromancereviews & the author for the gifted review copy !
