I am not going to say much about this novella except that it was freaking perfect and I wish it were a full-length book. Like is that too much to ask for?
Please make this into a full-length book. Please. Please. Please.
Let me just enlist all the reasons this novella should be a full-length book. A) The chemistry between the hero and heroine was spot on. They were everything I look for in a relationship. B) It was such a cute and fun read. There was not a moment of reading when I felt bored. C) It was so funny that I had a huge, permanent grin plastered on a face the whole time I was reading.
I mainly picked this book because I wanted a light-hearted romance in between my dark romance binge read and I am so glad I read this book. Next time I'll be in a reading slump, I'll simply re-read this one.
This little novella sounded really good about Lola is renting a house by the lake with her friends for the summer and Silas, the man she gets to know after finding his number on the bathroom stall.
Silas and Lola hit it off right away and they're always calling each other. When they finally meet in person, they both have some secrets. Lola's a bit of a nerd and it comes out in the most awkward ways. Silas, on the other hand, comes off as a bit too forward.
Unfortunately, the story is very short so we never get to know much more about Silas. I did like how things worked out...I just wish it was much longer because just as it was getting good, it ended.
Ok so that was the cutest short story ever. I'm actually really upset it was a short story and not a full length read. It was an amazing concept and I just want more!!! I need to know what happens or should I say I want to know. Do they stay together or is it just for the summer? Ugh this was just what I needed!
Short, funny and sassy, this drunk dial pick up turns into something more. Lola is spending the summer with her two best friends on Fire Island. Having had a bit of a dry spell after being in a bad relationship for five years, including the last month or so of the relationship, her friends convince her go for fun during their stay. After a bit too much to drink she ends up calling a number “advertising” a good time. She gets more than she expected.
Short and funny to pass half an hour. No sex scenes, clean “romance”. Should’ve been better as a full novel where an actual romance could be developed. But this novella is part of the Summer Fling anthology and for a summer fling this one is spot on.
