In the Underground Palace, Hyunckel, who has a grudge against Avan, leads the Undead Legion. Dai, Popp, and Maam arrive in Papnica only to find the Undead Legion has devastated Princess Leona’s homeland! Meanwhile, the Blizzblaze Legion’s Flazzard schemes to gain status among his rival Dark Army commanders.
This volume continues the excellence of the previous ones, and I can’t recommended it enough. The world is expanded, a new villain is fought, and our heroes get crafty. What’s not to love.
The new villain is great. Casts a grim figure from the moment he’s introduced, and reminds me of Kylo Ren with his backstory. He provides a fantastic foil for Dai personally, and causes him to even have a crisis of conscience.
The art here continues to be impeccable, and the fight sequences moreso. I really have no notes here I haven’t addressed in volume 2’s review, just that I can’t wait to get my hands on volume 4 next month.
In the third volume of this manga, Dai goes head to head with Hyunkel, a human who is in charge of the undead legion. Hyunkel has an interesting past and his story was rather fascinating. These books are always a very quick read because of the amount of action that takes place in them.
