After a sudden, dramatic, devastating breakup, Dex and Tracy tried their best to continue being good moms to their daughter Kendall. But they accomplished that in a unique way. Family members served as go-betweens, allowing Dex to have frequent visits with Kendall, while not interacting with Tracy at all. No visits, no calls, no emails, no texts. They have spoken not a single word since the night that Dex was banished from their home.
Surprisingly, Kendall handled the split very well. Her parents' lives ran on parallel tracks with no drama whatsoever. They were deeply involved with Kendall's life, just not each other's.
Now she's about to graduate from college, and her fondest desire is to have both Dex and Tracy attend her celebration. But since she learned early on that her moms would never choose to share space, she's had to get creative.
Their forced meeting careens from anger to tears to slap-stick to tender reminiscences. And that's just in the first hour.
Kendall's thrilled to be getting exactly what she wanted, and now that the wall of silence has been breached, there might be space for more. Maybe much more...

Susan X Meagher was born in southern Illinois and grew up in East St Louis. She attended college in Chicago and started her working career there. She and her partner moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 80's. It was there that she started to write. Her first few books were simply posted on the web and became the I Found My Heart in San Francisco series. In 2002 she moved to New York and divides her time between Manhattan and the Jersey Shore. She has published thirteen books in the series and has gone on to write many individual books as well. She has partnered with other authors on two short story books and has written many stories that have been published in other mainstream anthologies. Susan is active in the lesbian author community and loves to attend Women's week at Provincetown and the GCLS annual conventions. Her stories revolve around the relationships that two women can build when given a chance and how those relationships can strengthen the individual and the partnership. Her genre is lesbian romance/fiction and she believes strongly in the happy ending that we all so deserve. Susan X Meagher was awarded a 2011 Lesbian Fiction Readers’ Choice Award for Favorite Lesbian Fiction Writer. She is the recipient of the 2014 Alice B. Medal for her body of work.

From the author's website: I live in New York with my spouse, Carrie. We've lived in Chicago and Los Angeles for significant periods, but New York fits us very well. I love to discuss my work and fiction in general. My goal in writing is to explore feelings. I want to entertain, but I also want to make people think. I've heard that life is all about finding out who we are. To me, life if about finding out who other people are. I'm interested in the small details of life, that's how a story about two young women in college is slowly becoming a 26 book series. The joke in Seinfield was that it was about nothing. I feel the same about most of my books. They are about the many things that happen when nothing is happening. The small joys and sorrows of everyday life can be fascinating, especially if you care about the people involved. I try to create characters that will make a reader care deeply. I'm always interested in hearing how close I am to that goal. So please drop me a line whenever you have a comment or a question about a story. Writing is a pretty solitary pursuit and it's great to know that I'm not alone.

I really loved this second chance romance. I thought Meagher did a great job addressing addiction and the continued effort one goes through to remain sober. I loved both main characters. The way they go through their individual character arcs.

I hope more people get a copy for themselves because I really can't articulate how great this feel good book really is.

So I grabbed this book on an audible sale after hearing nothing about it, and judging by the low number of reviews there hasn’t been a lot of advertising about it either. But with the sale my general taste for second chance romances I dove into this and overall I really enjoyed it!

Meagher does a really great job in character work and it comes out here. This book is long and really explores in depth Dex and Tracey’s previous marriage and how they interact now. I found Dex to be a fascinating and lovely character and really enjoyed her. Their daughter Kendall is a load of fun too.

This audiobook is narrated by Meagher herself- and I always find it interesting when authors record the audio for their own works. They know the characters best so often can really convey the feelings of the characters. (The best example I can think of is Georgia Beers in Starting from Scratch). And I think Meagher does a pretty good job overall. I personally would have enjoyed bigger differences in character voices as sometimes I couldn’t tell who was speaking- but I thought the story and emotions were conveyed well.

All in all this was a really enjoyable second chance story with some lovely characters. 4.25/5

Life gets in the way of love sometimes. Dex and Tracy parted ways long ago leaving Tracy to raise their daughter with the help of Dex’s family. Dex has remained in Kendall’s life but has had no contact with Tracy since their breakup. When Kendall invites both her moms to her college graduation ceremony she hopes it will bring her parents together once again. Oh the audacity of youth.

I like how the author leaves us pondering the reasons for their breakup when Kendall was so young. No spoilers as all is revealed in time. I felt it added so much to this character driven tale forcing the reader to reconsider
motives for both characters' behaviour. Tracy’s unforgiving nature flares up at random times throughout the story. When trust is lost in a relationship it’s hard to regain. Dex knows this and has worked hard to improve herself. She also knows she is still in love with Tracy. Like all good second chance romances, it takes a while to break down the walls these women have thrown up to protect their hearts.

It’s been a while since I read a book by Susan X. Maegher. I have a short attention span so often veer away from longer books. Full Circle pulled me in from the entertaining first chapter and had me rooting for both women to find the happiness I knew they could have together. This story was a pleasure to read.

If you love second chance romances, excellent character development, a good dose of humour and a bit of soul searching, this book is for you.

A wonderful read on second-chance romance. No infidelity in the mix, but rather addiction was the main obstacle that caused Dex and Tracy to go their separate ways all those years ago.

But fate had other plans in store for them, and almost two decades later they found themselves face to face once again at their daughter's college graduation despite the wide berth, they gave each other.

What follows is a heartwarming tale of how two people finally found their way back to each other.

Is there even such a thing as a bad Susan Meagher book? I don’t think so. While this is not my favorite of hers, it was still an excellent story.

Her characters are three-dimensional. They have good people but they’re not perfect. This is a second chance romance that will have you waiting until the last 10% of the book to see the main, romantic couple get back together. However, taking a nice long time to get to that place makes the story seem extremely realistic. And while I enjoyed reading the buildup, I did deduct one star because I would have really like to see more of them together.

Anyway, great book as always! Thank you, Susan Meagher, you are a gem.

The back story behind this second chance romance is considerably more complex than is typical for the genre. Tracy and Dex are the estranged couple brought back in contact by their adult daughter Kendall, who has very clear notions of how she would like her college graduation to play out. The richly detailed narrative benefits from an excellent supporting cast. This was a compelling read with a satisfying conclusion.

This book started out really well. Both Tracy and dex being thrown into a locked room to talk it out was hilarious.
the way the book delved into the topics regarding the divorce of tracy and dex made me unable to stop reading. There was so much tension, discomfort and hurt surrounding them both when they interacted.
I wanted to know what happened and how they were going to resolve all their issues.
There were quite a few hilarious dialogues and moments which propelled me into reading more, however, i reached a certain point in the book where everything fell flat.
There was no more funny moments, no more tension between tracy and dex, it was all just about yardley and her issues and kendall. Tracy was also annoying sometimes.
The plot just worsened as i read, it was boring and just not interesting anymore.
The relationship development between Tracy and dex was almost non existent, they had wanted and thought of each other in a physical way but there were no moments of "i want to see her again" or just sweet moments between them throughout the whole book except maybe at the end where they wanted to start a relationship again.
Yardley was such an annoyance and literally only brought anger to me and the characters in the book.
The ending was unsatisfying, i wanted to know more about what happened right after they started the relationship, what were the changes, what were the family members reactions. etc... but there were none.
3 stars.

truly one of the best books by Meagher so far

I think this is one of the best books yet by Meagher. I started the San Francisco series when it was still online as fanfiction and loved it. This one had me laughing, crying and enthralled from the beginning. No spoilers but do yourself a favor and plan a weekend to read. I bought it Friday afternoon and didn’t put it down until I finished after 1 in the morning.

Bone to Pick With Author

Disappointed with this one but most with what the author has done to all the readers that have faithfully followed her series of FOUND MY HEART for 24 books! Shame on YOU!!! After all this reading and time, the main characters are still unmarried and homeless! What the hell!!!!! You have pulled that gum farther than it it is conscience able. What about sitting down and writing a worthy 25th at the level of the first one and getting these characters married and out of the demeaning housing situation you’ve had them in for so long. It is demeaning to their personalities ( as you have portrayed them), intellect and personalities to have them at their age in a basement living situation subservient to the male surroundings. No woman, especially the brilliant and independent ones you’ve created should be slaves to the pit you’ve dumped them in. DO THEM JUSTICE‼️

I enjoyed Full Circle as Meagher is one of my favorite authors. It is not my favorite book from this author, however. The beginning was hilarious, but then it dragged on. It was a continuous I'm sorry from Dex and I'm sorry from Tracy. Tracy is engaged to a woman she doesn't love but she still tries very hard to make her relationship with her fiancee work. Then after a huge fight, she sees the light. A bit out there for me. I kept reading because Meagher is an excellent writer, even in repetition, she keeps you interested. I gave it a high rating because of the quality of the writing but not the story itself.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5.0 stars

Meagher has created a well-thought-out second-chance romance that features women who come across as kind and loving intelligent women who the reader can easily imagine being best friends with. Add to that a new girl friend who is easily disliked and a daughter, who is, sometimes more mature than her mothers, and you have a book to love.

Occasional trouble with POV and the lack of dialogue tags will sometimes take the reader out of the story while she figures out who’s speaking, which keeps this delightful romance from perfection.

True love will wait …

Beautifully written story of Dex and Tracy’s journey to a life of love, respect, trust, and support. They shared a daughter, Kendall, who had an amazing outlook on life. After obstacles were thrown their way, Dex and Tracy found their way back to each other with Kendall and Dex’s mom’s help. Dex’s family was hugely supportive of this little family and one that I sincerely wish I had emerged. A very good read. I heartily and enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this and any other works by Susan X Meagher Thank you! Peace

I started this off thinking Yardley is being treated a bit poorly, which would have been an interesting concept. I always feel like the demonization of the person who is in a relationship with one of the main characters is often heavy-handed and in this case it was the same, sadly.

Overall, an enjoyable second chance romance, but the focus is firmly on family dynamics and some silly drama for the same of conflict so not one of my favourites.

Another Masterpiece

Dex and Tracey had split many years ago and their daughter, Kendall, is about to graduate from college. Kendall desperately wants both of her mothers to be there. The reunion is a volcanic eruption that leads to anger, laughter and tears. Will there be healing and forgiveness? A fabulous author.

4.5*

As with every SX Meagher story I have ever read, this one drops you into the characters lives and you feel like you are in it with them. These main characters are perfectly flawed and so very endearing. Grandma Dexter is a hoot. Loved the main characters and their journey. The supporting characters are quite enjoyable as well. This is such a good story. Recommended!

A lovely book

Dexter, Tracy, and Kendall. Two mothers and a daughter. Add a girlfriend to the mixing pot and you have jealousy and fiery tempers. Compound this with a supportive, slightly wacky family with lots of cookouts and get a delightful story.

I barely lifted my head from starting this book to finishing it. It is a fourth chance romance, unusual plot devices, tho on paper it started as forced proximity, sort of enemies to lovers, but really lovers to enemies to lovers and I loved it all.

A fun, Sapphic improved take on The Philadelphia Story

You don’t need to have seen the movie to enjoy this take which is vastly different. I was rooting for Dex from the start.
