*1.5* I’ve read some seriously dark romances this past year, but this one wins the award for the most unromantic coupling.

You will enjoy this story if you like:
A relationship based on sex and past trauma
Spanking/edging
Daddy kink
Knife kink
Blood kink
Torture porn
Graphic murders
A complete lack of concern about any sti/std from a partner who is an active prostitute
No condoms - for anyone! Weeeeee!

This book was choppy, disjointed, and unromantic. These men could have been such a great match with a deeper emotional connection.

It felt like all the kink was simply there to scream ‘hey, look how f*cked up we can be’ rather than a meaningful way to engage this couple.

To my fearless BR Dan, who is willing to tackle any story. At least our buddy reads are getting incrementally better as we go.

Well that was a wild ride of murder & debauchery of the wickedest kind. 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚁𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚆𝚊𝚢 𝚃𝚘 𝚆𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐, is chock-filled with trigger worthy badness or goodness... Whichever way you see it! But Please! PLEASE READ THE CW. This is not for the fainthearted! Every imaginable and inventive way you can think of cutting off somebody's life is written within the pages of this rollercoaster serial killer romance. It's deliciously dark and twisted! It will have you grappling with your conscience and moral guidance and asking yourself whom is the lesser of two evils?

I absolutely loved Willow. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing and I completely underestimated him. If anybody can vanquish Callum's demons it's him. He's a force to be reckoned with and my darling Callum had me wanting to burn every obstacle in his path for him. These two are wronger than wrong. It's just my luck that they're just... On the right side of wrong for me.

They're a deadly duo. I wouldn't like to be on the wrong side of that's for sure. These two are so lovable if you leave every social conformity at the door and check-out on your morals for the time-being and indulge this entertaining read. Willow & Callum and their vigilante-esque shenanigans had me gripped! Another blinder from the 𝚅𝚒𝚛𝚝𝚞𝚘𝚞𝚜 𝚂𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝙲𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗

Can two wrongs make a right? does an eye for an eye, measure up? Is there a right way to wrong? The jury is still out. All I know is, if Callum are Willow are wrong? Then I don't want to be right.

Be sure to check our the warnings if you are weary. "The Right Way to Wrong" is dark, if that is not your thing then this is not the book for you. But if it is, stop reading this review and pick up the book!! From the blurb alone I was hooked! I really enjoy Ashlynn Mills' darker side. She has a way with words that makes even the dark and twisted appealing. The characters and the story are so well written that you cannot help but devour this book. The mystery, suspense, and romance are just .... wow!.

I really enjoyed this story, however please mind the trigger warnings. This is not a fluffy love story. Callum and Willow are two lost souls just searching for something to make the nightmares stop. These two will tug on your heartstrings even as you’re thinking “he did what”. This story was so good and the characters were so real.

bland

I spent most of the book trying to find a word to describe this book and finally did. Bland. As far as grammar, sentence structure and spelling goes I saw absolutely no issues. But this has to be the most boring dark romance I have ever read.
I would suggest reading the warnings before reading the book while keeping in mind some things like hallucinations she minimizes and other things she minimizes to the point if you are a survivor and at all easily triggered, even though not terribly graphic all the facts your mind will fill in because they are missing can be triggering like her beginning scene which is not non-con, it is a group assault that leaves the victim near death. I didn’t even see her warning of child sex abuse with a complicit mother. After 30+ yrs of therapy I am generally not trigger by what I read but I found several instances where the minimizing led to my PTSD brain making its own details. I was confused by the fact one character is clearly a submissive at the beginning and still tormented by his abuse later suddenly behaves consistently as a dom with the other character. I’m an not sure I would call him a sadist but the other character is sort of a masochist, I think it is the idea of pain more than actual pain that gets him off.
There is an interesting twist near the end but even that is mostly emotionless. Even the most emotional scenes and the actual sex scenes it just felt disconnected and weird. I didn’t really like or dislike the main characters most of it was just blah.
I went into reading this expecting a dark romance but this was more like a dark romance with most of the emotion and action removed to avoid triggering any negative response from triggered readers. I read MM romance for the emotional connection and action between the main characters, for that matter that is what I read all romance for.
I liked it enough to finish reading it but I doubt I will ever read it again. It just wasn’t that interesting. There was never a time I was so into it that I couldn’t put it down, even just needing to finish the chapter. I have to admit the title makes no sense to me having completed the book.
I can’t really recommend this book other than to say if the blurb looked interesting to you, maybe you’ll like it. I was just bored hoping it would get better.

Read the trigger page before reading.

I'm not sure I would call this dark necessarily. I've read way worse but it is def on the darkish scale. I personally absolutely love books like this where both characters have been through so much and find each other and heal each other while at the same time destroying anyone that tries to take what's theirs. Total madness but with just cause. I was cheering the entire book with every next level revenge. So I guess it depends on your classification of dark. There is both on and off page sexual abuse, drugs, prostitution, graphic assault and graphic murder (not between the MCs but involving the MCs and others.

I absolutely loved both of the main characters. They were a great match and were so hot together. Lots of steam that was well written. I was pleasantly surprised by which MC was the most shocking. Things definitely weren't what they seemed. The plot was interesting from start to finish and I couldn't put it down. All the elements that were added were so wonderfully written like the psychosis effects, I loved that the most. I would call this a no angst story, esp in the relationship, but again that's subjective. I absolutely love the cover cause as bloody as it is, I also found it to be really sweet. That could be just me. I'll be definitely reading this again.

I left off half a star cause there was one part that left me with questions but I had to round up the star rating cause this might be my favorite book from this author.

This book deserves more than five stars
Wow I don’t even know where to begin with this book I just could not put it down the first chapter just rips your heart out. Poor Callum I couldn’t believe what he had to go through. Then you think he’s made to trained to be a doctor but he still scarred and hiding but that is until he meets Willow. Willow changes everything for him he starts to become a person again but Willow is hiding secrets, what will Callum do when he finds out what the secrets are?? The twist at the end is savage I just did not see it coming honestly I was Screaming at the book I am so gutted that the book has ended I think I could’ve read this book for a long time coming. An outstanding read. There are some triggers it is about a serial killer and there is a lot of violence and it contains sexual assault so if these are going to offend or upset you in anyway I really wouldn’t go for this Book.
But boy what a fantastic read.

The Right Way to Wrong

Make sure you read the info on the triggers because thus book might not be for you.

Callum was beaten, raped and left for dead. His attackers got basically a slap on their wrists, but he was left with physical and emotional scars. Its all he can do each day to be a doctor in a local clinic, go home and sleep for a few hours until he starts his day all over again. He's afraid of being in a crowd and certain smells send him into deep frightening spirals.
When Willow comes into Callem's clinic, both of their lives change for the better. Willow has had a rough life. His boss, Jim, makes him work the streets and give him most of his money. When Willow falls short, Jim breaks Willow's arm, where he meets Callum. Soon their spending all of Callum's free time together.

But the monsters are out there and Callum knows he must defeat and get rid of them to be free, for him and for Willow.

Not for the faint of heart. Written really well and held some major surprises for me!

OH MY FREAKING GOOSE!!!I was not ready for this oh so dark but clever romance. It started out very very upsetting and I had all kinds of emotions for Callum. How can someone get over something that horrendous happening to them???All I can say this was freaking awesome with all the twists and turns. This was so disturbing I couldn't put it down...like looking at a horror movie and I really hate horror movies...LOL...yeah it doesn't make no kinds of sense but I knew going in that Ashlynn was gonna keep me engaged in the madness which is Callum and Willow's crazy love. I couldn't even feel bad for anyone who had it coming to them...I was cheering their ending on and hoping that the guys will have a wonderful HEA inspite of the unhappiness prior to them finding each other. This right here shows me how twisted my girl Ashlynn can get...LOL at that traffic cone scene (oh so wrong)...5STARS!!!!

This book is really dark. When I read the sample, these 2 broken and flawed characters drew me in and I just had to read the book to see what would happen with them. From the description in the warnings, I hoped neither Callum nor Willow would be the serial killer mentioned, even though both had horrendous experiences in their pasts. As the story unfolds, more and more of the darkness and damage emerges, even though both are drawn to each other. There are definitely surprises on the way. I found myself unable to put the book down until it was finished. Now I need some time to process the whole thing. If the warnings don’t make you pause, I think you will get drawn in just like I was. Definitely held my interest and attention.

I have been waiting for this book to come out to read. I love these types of toxic relationships in dark romance, the ones with obsession, and hes mine in them. Before reading this book, and really ANY of the books in this series, please check the trigger warnings. This book has non con and rape mentioned in this book (none between the MC’s but involving them), as well as, LOTS of killing. In the beginning Callum, was brutalized by his ex-boyfriend, and the ex-boyfriends friends, and left for dead. Fast forward to 5 years later, and he is a reclusive doctor who is still getting over the trauma of that night. He meets Willow when he comes in for a broken arm. Willow refuses to let Callum in on what he actually does for a living, or really anything truthful at all, but Willow has secrets too. Throughout the story they find how much they are perfectly broken for each other. I loved their dynamic, and that through the bloodshed, and obsession they are both able to heal from their darkness.

This was not the book I thought it was going to be. It was interesting to watch Callum spiral, the voices and hallucinations breaking him down. It's unclear exactly when these symptoms started, before or after what his ex-boyfriend did to him, but they are symptoms that he has been trying to ignore until Willow comes into his life. Willow is just as broken as Callum, a prostitute and victim of molestation in childhood. What happens when these two meet is the birth of a serial killer who will take out anyone that threatens him and Willow's sense of safety. The abuse Willow goes through from his boss is heartbreaking and I know I shouldn't cheer for a killer, but the people Callum goes after really do deserve it

Dark Romance at its best

I love dark romance books and this one is definitely in my top ten. Ashlyn Mills is definitely one of my favorite dark romance authors.
I loved seeing the events that lead Callum to be the man (pyschopath) he is today. Willow is such a sweet stalker. I want to cuddle both men for a while.
My favorite quote from this book has to be “We complete each other in aid no one else could”. It’s absolutely true both of these men are without a doubt perfect together.
Who ever said “a couple that preys together stays together” is a freaking genius and it’s the sweetest thing. 🖤

If you've ever read an Ashlynn Mills book, you know she excels at stories that are a little bit dirty and a whole lot dark. Callum and Willow each have their own demons that they are battling but somewhere along the way, their individual levels of crazy co-mingle and things get real dark, real fast...but in an eerily psycho-romantic way. I love the way that these two do bad things for all the right reasons...in their slightly deranged minds. Murder IS a love language, isn't it?! This is definitely not a fluffy love story, so heed the trigger warnings. It is an excellent book however, with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

A dark book from start to finish. There is nothing sweet and fluffy about this book. That is the reason why I like Ashlynn Mills's books. They will have you hooked from start to finish. Callum and Willow have dealt with a difficult past. Callum was assaulted and can't stand to be touched and Willow was abused by a family member and hasn't been able to get away from abusive men. They are attracted to each other from the book they meet and will do anything to protect each other. Their relationship is not traditional, it's twisted, sinister, and dark, with some angst, intense moments, and a lot of twists and turns. In the end, these two got their happily ever after.

Umm . . . . Where to begin . . . Someone described this as a wild ride of murder and debauchery, well it's certainly no fluffy romance, there are so many possible triggers here. It's dark, twisted and totally addictive, at times I wanted to put it down but couldn't, I just needed to know what was going to happen next. A word of warning, there is a very violent sexual attack at the start of this story, a gang rape, it's over quickly as only the beginning is on page then it fades to black so to speak, but the knock on effect runs through this tale. There are other triggers but that one is so violent it's worthy of a warning. You've been warned, it's dark, violent, and sexy as heck.

This book is a blend of decadent darkness and tantalizing twistiness. I want to start by saying this book is definitely not for every reader. If triggers are a concern for you, this book definitely is not for you. Willow and Callum's are definitely going to mess with your heart and mind. This is truly one of those books that I don't think anything anyone says can truly prepare you for. So, my advice is if you're open minded, embrace all things dark and have no concerns about triggers, Hold your breath and Dive In. This is my freely posted frank review.

Scarred from their life experiences, Willow and Callum are drawn to each other from their first meeting.
As they continue to get to know each other, the connection between them deepens.
But, their experiences in life has reared ugly monsters and the only way to move forward together is to silence these monsters.

A riveting read that deals with the impact of past and present abuse on a person. The characters were easy to connect with and the storyline flowed well. A story that may trigger some but one that is captivating.

4.5 stars. Both Callum and Willow had horrendous things happen to them in the past. In this book these were used as motivation for a really enjoyable very dark story with plenty of on-page descriptive murders. The traumas of both MCs led them to being a really great fit for each other. There were a few great plot twists which really made it worth reading. It's not often I am surprised by a plot, which I really appreciate.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this novel, a romance novel about a serial killer, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed the messed up relationship between these two broken people.

Willow and Callum, two seemingly different people who have endured horrific trauma are drawn together, they are both hiding many things from each other, except it turns out that all isn't quite as it seems.

This isn't a read for the faint-hearted, but I was drawn in and couldn't put it down.

So So Good

Two broken men, Callum and Willow, find and help each other fight the monsters in their lives. They become codependent on each other and only when they're together can they breathe. Callum becomes the Daddy Willow never had and their chemistry is off the charts. Lots of kinky sex including breath play, blood play, and edging. This book is not for everyone so heed the trigger warnings. This is part of the Virtuous Sinners multi author collaboration. I highly recommend this book and series.

Another fantastic dark romance story by the author!

This story starts off with a heart wrenching scene that made me nauseous, and my heart was ripped to pieces. Read the triggers inside if you have any. Me, I love angst! Bring it on!

Two broken characters ♥️ With trauma and a shitty background story. No drama between them though. They knew early on to trust each other ♥️

Ashlynn Mills isn’t afraid to write dark romance, with lots of gore and some sizzling hotness. But I really enjoy the snark and humour in her books as well.

Dark and Good

There were many twists in this book and yes it was hot and dreamy but then at the same time dark and gory but it all made sense in the end. It was well written and a bit crazy but then Callum and Willow had such trauma when they were younger that you could almost believe it could really happen. Not for the squeamish but then again all of the books in this series are dark and gory.

Ashlynn is back with another 5 star book that is a must read dark book! Please check TW before reading. You can normally tell there is that something about the book that doesn’t right click… the feeling of it being disjointed, the unnatural way the story was starting to develop and when at the first sexual encounter one MC calls the other ‘daddy’ and the other one calls themselves a ‘Dom’ - sorry, but no. This sort of thing just annoys me so DNF at 29%. I’m sure the book will appeal to other readers, it just had too many things that didn’t click for me.

This was so good. It is not a little book, don't be fooled by the teddy bear. Anyway, these two men are so broken. So many monsters in their minds. And in their lives.
Willow seems so innocent but so broken. He seems perfect for Callum. Willow opens Callum's heart. And Callum takes care of Willow.

There's a slight twist at the end that I didn't really see coming. This is definitely a dark read, mind the trigger warnings but it is SO GOOD!!!
