If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all… All Cassidy “Goldie” Nash wanted to do was be a nice guy. He certainly hadn’t meant to turn a corner too fast and knock a stranger down into a muddy puddle, and helping him up seemed like it was the right thing to do. He even gave the strange young man his coat because it was so cold out. Goldie thought it was odd that the man didn’t even say so much as a thank you before fleeing with his headphones firmly planted on his ears, and Goldie would later learn to regret his kindness. He’d left his wallet in his coat pocket after paying for coffee earlier that morning, and now the silent man knows where he lives. Goldie didn’t know it then, but speaking was the absolute worst thing he could have done… Because the silent young man heard him, and he liked it.

Day Hanley was raised with a strict hand and a wildly perverse interpretation of scripture. Those who speak with venom under their lips and use their tongues to deceive must be quieted, and it is his mission to silence them. He hears it everywhere, a constant torrent of profanity and hatred spewing from every mouth that he has to shut out or he’ll go insane. But Goldie is not like anyone else Day has ever heard before. Goldie speaks as an angel does, and Day has to find out why… Even if it means he must silence him.

5 “I’ll make you mine forever” stars

“You obey my voice, mine alone. As long as you obey me, you will be my most treasured possession, and I will give you everything that I am.”

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

I needed this book in my life.

This entire multi-authors series really appealled to me because it’s MM romances with darker themes and characters who are murderers because they are following a very strong and religious moral code. And that sounds like everything I have ever wanted in my life. I absolutely love darker and toxic romance books and i’m a sucker for anything that is linked to delusion, mind break, codependency and super toxic romances. And I absolutely love the idea of characters being so delusional and under the influence of religion that it makes them murderers to abide to that moral code.

And this book perfectly captured everything I have ever wanted to read about in a book. If someone told me that K.L. Hiers did a scan of my brain to see everything I wanted to read about and then put it in this book, I wouldn’t even be surprised about it. This book just felt like the perfect pairing of everything I enjoy reading about in books.

Brief Summary
Goldie, a famous wrestler, meets a man named Day. Day is a young man who thinks that his mission in life is he needs to get rid of sinners to please God. Day sees Goldie as an angel put on his way to protect him and he has to make Goldie his, any way possible.

If you know me, you know that I don’t really like reading and longer books because I have a really bad attention spawn and I always get distracted. But let me tell you, I read this entire 400 pages book in one sitting because there was no way that I could put it down. I was just so invested in this story and thats really a testament on how much I enjoyed this book because that really doesn’t happen to me often.

The romance in this book was just perfect to me, it had everything I was looking for in a romance like this. The romance in this book was more on the toxic side, which is what I prefer, so I loved that. The romance in this book was full of so much delusion, codependency, jealousy and mind break and that was perfect to me. All of these themes were just handled in a way that made the book super enjoyable to read and I just wanted to keep reading the books to see how these themes would develop and play out in the next chapters. I must admit that the romance in this swoon made me swoon, a lot. It was super toxic and overly possessive, but that really worked for me. I just absolutely adored how it was done in this book. Also, I adored how sweet the romance in this book was. It was super toxic and possessive, but it was full of super sweet and tender moments, regardless of that, and I really loved that. That just made the romance so enjoyable to read for me.

“I am going to take you. I am going to spread my seed within you. I am going to baptize you as mine. When I’m done, I am going to kill that man, and you will not stop me.”

I adored Goldie and Day as a couple. They had such a good couple dynamic. It’s not a secret that I absolutely adore when books take the usual dynamic between couples and reverse it around. In this one, Goldie who is a 6’7” and mountain of a man was the more submissive one while Day is small and kind of a twink was the more dominating one and I just adored that. Not only was this such an enjoyable reversal of the typical book tropes and I loved it because of that. It also worked perfectly with the story and the characters. I loved how Goldie just wanted someone who would cherish him and take care of him, and Day did the job perfectly. He was super sweet but also commeding and took very good care of Goldie.

I don’t think that I can talk about this book without talking about the sex scenes in this book because holy shit. The sex scenes in this book were just out of this world levels of good. I think that someone will need to come scrape my jaw off the floor after I read some of these scenes sex because I just cannot get over how good they were. I also liked how many of them there was, which is plenty, and I liked how they were all varied and included different things, which I loved each and every one of them. This book was just so hot and I adored those scenes.

Delusion is one of my favourite themes in book. Expecially when it’s linked with mind break. I just love seeing super delusional characters absolutely believe in something, no matter what happens. And there was so much delusion in this book. Expecially from Day and his mission. Day is convinced that he was put on earth by God to murder everyone who does bad things. It’s his one goal in life and he’s all he knowns how to do. And I absolutely loved reading about that. That was so fascinating to me and I loved how it was done in the book. I loved how the book went the full on delusional road where Day thought that this was perfectly normal and he never saw anything wrong with his behaviour. It just made him such a fascinating character to read about and I adored being in his mind and seeing the full scope of his delusion. Reading about someone being this delusional and brain washed is just one of my favourite topic and I adored how this book handled it, it was perfectly done to me.

Side note, I just loved how Day saw Goldie as his angel, there to save and protect him from everything. That was just so sweet and really fitting with the theme.

“You must learn to trust me. You must trust in me with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. You must submit in all ways to me, and I will guide your path for all of your days.”

Also, Goldie is a wrestler and this book contains a lot of call backs and small references to wrestling. I absolutely adore wrestling and I was so happy to see all of the little references. They’re not something that you need to know to understand the book, but since I knew the topic and understood them, it just gave the book an extra layer for me and it enhanced my reading experience even more.

I just want to mention it. One of the side character in this book is named Florence and it put the biggest smile on my face every time he was on page because I don’t think I have ever seen a character in a book who has the same name as me and it just made me really happy to see it.

I absolutely adored this book. This was one of the best reading experience I have had in a long time and I’m so glad I had it. This book just left me shocked and swooning at the same time, due to the events in the book, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This just made for such an enjoyable reading experience.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest opinion

What a wild ride! This was a twisted romantic story about a young man, Day, who can hear people's inner thoughts and Goldie, a former pro wrestler. Day is a young man who believes he is on a mission to eradicate horrible people. He must block out the noise in his daily life to function. However, when he meets Goldie, he hears none of the vile inner thoughts he typically hears. Just silence follows his words. He becomes his angel. Goldie is an older man who left his career due to a life-altering injury. He was at the height of fame when everything came crashing down. Now he is in his early 40s and trying to get by in life while reminiscing about his past life and what could have been.

Goldie is a huge man. He's 6'7, and often with his lovers, he takes on the dominant role because that is the expectation, and there is also an underlying reason for not trusting another. However, he wants to be taken care of, and he wants to be dominated and cared for. He wants to be seen as beautiful and not massive or strong. He unexpectedly finds in Day someone who wants to care for and treasure him in Day. He can submit knowing that Day will ensure his pleasure and care.

The sex was hot. I loved how dominating Day was, and the dirty talk from Goldie was exquisite. I love the contrast between how Day speaks - formal and using bible verses as part of sex - with Goldie's casual and filthy mouth. The tender aftercare was lovely as well.

Goldie understands that Day is dangerous and seems unstable, but he can't give up the one person who doesn't care about his faults and wants him for him. Overall I enjoyed this story it was funny, messed up and crazy. Please read the trigger warning, as there are blood, violence and death. There is a also

This book is a RIDE ya’ll

Something I’ve been craving in MM is just… something different. Something that’s different from the tropes and stereotypes and OTT drama or just general blandness… and boy was this it.

Minor spoilers here for content warning purposes

This is dark but not really dark in an angsty way. It was just DEPRAVED, especially the last 25%. Please read the trigger warnings! While I felt their relationship to be pretty fluffy, there is a bit of DubCon throughout. But I can be sensitive to that and within the context of this story it didn’t bother me at all. Also, if you are at all sensitive to heavy religious themes, either because of religious trauma or being religious yourself, don’t read this. One of the MC’s entire personality is bred from extreme religious indoctrination and all of his dialogue is in a scripture-like way, including dirty talk. But it made this story utterly fascinating. There’s lots of murder and sexual depravity but it was so dang hot. I absolutely ate up this book. Hiers is becoming a go-to author for me and I am so enjoying the ride.

Omg yall...

First off, mind the warnings on this one. Murder, violence, sex while murdering, and all that are in here.

Spoilers ahead

This also has the twink being the Dom/God, the humongous wrestler being the sub, extremely long sex scenes, talking to God and dead dads, drug mobs, and someone who caused a career ending injury.

Ok so in here we have Day, a young man who can hear the bad things you have done/will do. And Goldy, a retired former wrassler, always in pain and not living a good life. These two literally run into each other and thus begins an instant connection.

Goldy, being so huge, has always been the dominant one but as soon as he meets Day, learns he is a sub at heart.

Y'all already know that Day is not normal. He kills people for God and his dad. He also does not speak except for bible verses. That's ok cause Goldy understands him and Day does not hear bad thoughts from Goldy when he speaks.

I'm gonna be honest, this got really good at about 89%. I loved the whole violent things that happened and the twist. I feel bad for the detective though.

But this needed less pages. Some parts dragged on and on. I think if this lost 150 pages, then it could have been a 5 star read.

3.5 All aboard the crazy train! This is a spectacularly bizarre story that is dirty and murdery, yet somehow sweet. Not going to be for everyone. The WTF-is-happening moments in the beginning are great, so don’t read any blurbs, go in with an open mind and the desire to be bewildered and entertained. There is a paranormal, anti-hero, religious, righteous crusader vibe, odd to say the least, but again…entertaining. Give it a go when the mood for something unusual strikes.

A bit too much wandering around in the middle and just too much scripture talk. Awesomely outrageous beginning, mediocre middle and ending with a first class ticket to crazy town. 380 pages was a bit long and could have been trimmed down some, well written though with good flow and conversations. Here’s a taste of the crazy murdery sweetness “…Day was an erotic vision of beautiful horror…”. Enjoy!

Contemporary, former wrestler, m/m, dom-sub, murder mission, very spicy, very kinky, t/b.

I don’t know what I just read but I enjoyed it.

It’s definitely unexpected. It’s well written.

The sexual dynamic is a twist.

“I mean, you already told me you’re on a holy mission from God and your dead father tells you what to do to dispatch sinners because God supposedly works in mysterious ways or whatever.” He laughed nervously. “What else is there that you’d be afraid to tell me?”

This was a wild and intense ride. Day, our possibly delusional serial killer, was both unhinged and adorable, and I loved him. While his relationship with Goldie escalated quickly, it had a fated mates quality to it that made it believable. Day literally believed Goldie was a gift from God, and treated his angel with the utmost adoration and care. And in Day, Goldie found his joy for life reinvigorated. While I sometimes found their dynamic inside and outside of the bedroom to be a little too different, I ultimately came to love them together. And the dirty talk was 🔥, as Day frequently prayed and recited scripture to reinforce his worship of Goldie. By the end, I was just as captivated by Day as Goldie was, and started to question if Day may actually have a divine purpose, no matter how twisted. Their HEA was perfect for them.

Pure Silence is a stunning piece of fiction by author K.L. Hiers. It’s a contemporary, thriller-esque, get-together story that features a marvelous pair of main character/love interests. First, let’s discuss the thriller aspects. To be blunt, Day is a righteous killer, the kind that knows he’s doing the dirty work for the greater good. As I understand it, Day kills people who have sinned egregiously. One victim, for example, was probably involved with kiddie porn. So Day benefits from this quasi-justification in killing people. He also doesn’t simply go on endless murder sprees just because 99% of humanity is terrible. All of which is to say it’s not necessarily hard to give Day the benefit of the doubt about killing people. He’s a vigilante out for justice. It’s just that Day is well versed in all the myriad ways of killing a person…with or without tools. And he believes he is literally chosen by God for this role.

A VERY unique romance

This is like no romance I’ve ever read. I person that’s hears voices and kills falls in love with a ex-pro wrestler.

NGL, this was a 5 star ⭐️ book until the last 10% of the book kind of ruined it for me. The Florence plot line was completely asinine.

90% was excellent though. Day was a very unique psychopath and Goldie became his ideal mate. The sex was super charged. A pickle trophy played a part. Eeek.

At the start you are a bit confused on what exactly is happening but as the story slowly moves forward the pieces fall into place. It’s wacky. The bad guys definitely get what’s coming to them!

By the end, you are like how crazy can this get?!? HEA happens.

This one started off so, so well.

And the blurb lures you in like a moth to a flame.

The story was great – I mean, it’s dark so I totally loved it.

The characters were awesome – I especially loved Day, he was an absolutely fascinating character.

My only issue was that I felt as though it was unnecessarily long.

I actually found myself skimming through the sex scenes – something I’ve never done before... 🙈

Pure Silence is a story that started well, yet my interest faded the more I read. I had not expected such to be the case – after all, this story contains so many elements that I usually love – yet it felt like the story was dragging despite everything happening too quickly.

I know the above statement sounds contradictory, yet such is how it felt. The romance between them happened in the blink of an eye, going from one extreme to the other in no time. The murdering and acceptance seemed to happen almost as quickly – to the point where behaviours made no sense. All the details that I love to see happening slowly occurred at a rapid pace, all while the story seemed to move forward at a slow pace. Such a short amount of time passed in the story, yet it felt like I was reading something that was lasting much longer. Thus, things were too fast while it felt like it was dragging. It was a strange combination, and it resulted in this being a story I went from being hooked on to forcing myself to finally finish.

I’m sure part of this is just personal preference – in fact, other reviews suggest people love this – so I’m putting it down to this being a ‘it’s me, not the book’ situation.

Unexpected read. They both (Goldie and Day) are very different and this made it very special. Goldie is an „old“ grumpy wrestler who easily is willing to submit to the young and blessed killer „boy“ Day who is on a mission to wipe the sinner from earth. Day is beside his dominate side very careful with Goldie. Enjoyable dynamic between them. Loved it

2.5 Stars. This is more like what I expected when I started reading Psycho, I think. This book made me feel mixed positive and negative things. I liked how inherently different the two male characters were (age gap, such a different upbringing/personality traits/beliefs) and how their dynamic was turned around from the usual; I would've expected the scruffy-grumpy looking one to fall into love/infatuation at first sight/sound with the innocent-young looking one, but no. I would've liked some more nuance surrounding the murdering bad people part of the book. Maybe I needed to suspend my disbelief, but I couldn't. I also found the development of the story rushed and unbelievable, which in some cases doesn't faze me, but again, in this case it did. I'm sorry, book. I don't know why I could forgive this there but not here.

Holy fish sticks on a firecracker!! This book was phenomenal. I would definitely heed the CW list because this got dark real fast!

Day is such an interesting character who rarely speaks, when he does speak? He uses bible verses. doling out killings to those who deserve it! The bad people/people who wish to do bad. How does he know their intentions? He can hear their thoughts...

Goldy, an ex wrestler who lives in chronic pain. These two development an instant & palpable connection and holy moly! These two got down to the giggity-giggity! Goldy has always been the more dominant figure but finds himself slipping easily into a submissive role with Day. I really enjoyed Pure Silence, it was super steamy and had loads of action/murder and was a really unique.

Tw: death

I had a lot of fun with this book. Reminded me a bit of the psychopath books. I unfortunately couldn't get a clear image of Goldie in my mind and I kept picturing him as a wrestler from the 80s. It wasn't very sexy. However! The dirty talk in this book? A fucking plus. Wow. I'm not religious at all so there was a bit of a struggle trying to fit the whole God thing in. Overall though I enjoyed it and there was even a little twist at the end.

DNF about 70%?

I'll be honest, I picked this up because the blurb is absolutely unhinged. And I was in the mood for something unhinged. The beginning was really good, it delivered on the crazy promise of the blurb, and it worked. This book is not badly written, per se. But there's only so much suspension of disbelief this woman - me - can take.

So hear me out. I was really into it while we're meant to believe Day is delusional, psychotic and, excuse me for my language, batshit crazy. But after a little we get hints he might not be. Hints his mission is actually real and he's some sort of vengeful angel of whatever, and the way Goldie goes from point A - this hot guy is delusional - to B - this hot guy talks with god for real - was QUICK. OMG, so quick. Goldie says so himself, it takes him about 2 days. And I'm sorry I can't buy that, especially considering the circumstances of their first interactions.

So yeah, the unhinged premise became a little too unhinged for my liking. No harm done, just not for me?

so long

“Hold your horses there, murder muffin.”-Goldie

The premise of this book intrigued me from the start, the cover drew me in and Day and Goldie stole the show. Former wrestler meets adorable serial killer and they live happily ever after? Well…not quite.

I loved Day. He was definitely out there. And he definitely needs some type of mental help. But dang, he was adorable and caring and strong and so many other words. The way he was absolutely obsessed with his Angel was so great. But he was also so righteous. He had a mission and he needed to follow it, rid the world of the sinners. Goldie may not have understood it, but there comes a point where you can’t really tell the serial killer what to do.

The dynamic between Day and Goldie was so on point. I loved how needy Goldie was and how Day met that neediness with devotion and possession. The sexiness of these two oozes off the page.

Was there drama and some over the top craziness? Yep. Did I love every single word it it? Also yes. I wasn’t sure where Day and Goldie were taking me, but I knew I was riding that train all the way to the station. 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend.

The book revolves mainly around the first week of Day and Goldie meeting, attracted to each other like it was meant to be. At least that is Day's belief since Goldie ends up being his quiet haven in a storm of sin.
Goldie uses much of the book coming to terms with his own life and believing in Day and his mission, my favourite in the book is whenever Goldie calls Day a murder muffin.

I felt that there were so much focus on Goldie's wrestling past without it having much impact on the story overall.

I was not prepared for the Bdsm in this book, though their scenes are very hot, there is almost too much of a good thing.
Day is more dominant than you would think from first meeting him, he is stronger than you'd think but also very caring for what he considers "his".

There was also much less murdering in the book than I had expected, seeing as Day is hearing filth from most people and it all seem to be a deadly offence.

This is my favorite book of the year. I even rated it before finishing and gave it 5 stars. I think I love it so much because I went into it without really knowing what it was actually about. This is my first review ever that is more than one sentence, so just stay with me, ok?

Weird summary: this story is about a crazy psychopath who truly believes he was sent by God to dispose of the scum of the earth. He literally identifies as God’s wrath and inherited this “gift” after his father’s death, but don’t worry, he still talks to him every day – totally normal situation. I’m a deeply unserious reader so I don’t really understand what exactly he hears with this “power”, but to me it’s not people’s thoughts, more their murderous/criminal intentions and past. Day has a lot of issues (for example, he hates noise, being around other people is uncomfortable, he can’t really cook or function by himself, he just knows enough to survive – he has an important mission after all) and he falls in love at first sight with Goldie, a sad former catcher star who suffers from chronic pain because of his old career. Day believes that Goldie is an angel sent by God and that they are meant to be together for the sake of his mission. Naturally, he decides tosequestered his angel in order to seduce him.

I have to say I loved this book so much because I went in blind. I thought it was just about a vigilante who kills people the justice system can’t reach and also happens to have a mental illness. I’m saying this because if I had really understood the summary I would have skipped this book – which would have been a shame. I genuinely feel lucky for my lack of understanding. I also didn’t read the author’s summary, I just followed the vibe of the cover and the positive comments.

Why I love this book so much:

It’s funny, like I laughed so f*cking hard it was ridiculous. One of my favorite lines was:

(After a murder)

Goldie : "You've done this before. Haven't you?"
Day : "Dear God, I really need my angel to understand that sometimes maybe my mission involves killing people"
Goldie : "Oh, fuck"

I had a great time.

The characters feel real (not only the main characters, but I’m going to focus on them). Day and Goldie feel real to me in the sense that their personalities fit the story so well that I never felt their actions, or the storyline in general, only happened “because it’s a book and the plot has to move”. Their choices make sense for who they are, and at the same time their decisions have consequences that also make sense and move the story forward. To be more specific, the story couldn’t be shorter, because then the epilogue wouldn’t work or it would just be a happy‑for‑now and not my precious happily ever after (which I adore in my romance books). Even the choice of POV for each chapter made sense; I was never disappointed because I wanted a different POV for a particular scene, which can be so frustrating in other books.

Day and Goldie help and save each other. As someone who adores dark romance, I find it rare to have two main characters who actually help each other in the same book and in a similar proportion. In general there is one powerful character and the other love interest is significantly weaker. Not my Day and Goldie – no. They both have strengths and weaknesses, they complete each other very well (love is a group project, after all). The result is two characters with satisfying development who need each other to be happy and safe. I know love doesn’t conquer all in real life, but my favorite trope is enemies to lovers and I love dark romance. What I mean is: I don’t need my books to be 100% realistic, I just need the story to make sense to me, and I will eat that up every single time. Plus, their dynamic is everything.

The book actually surprised me. To be honest, I don’t read romance to be surprised, so it’s not something I actively look for. Nevertheless, usually while I’m reading, I can guess the whole plot easily without even trying, which wasn’t the case here, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The smut is perfect. Sometimes I read books where the smut is the plot. I actually found this one thanks to a tag and a Goodreads list because I wanted a story about a big guy who loves to bottom (Goldie is assumed to be a top because of his body in many of his past relationships and he absolutely isn’t; my dude is a needy bottom). That’s not the case here: the smut isn’t the whole plot, and I didn’t find the scenes boring or too much, even though I would say there are plenty of them and I am NOT complaining. What I wanted: a big guy who likes to bottom but hasn’t had many chances for X reasons. What I got: everything.

The more I read, the more I loved the book. I was invested in the story the whole time, without a single chapter where my interest in the characters or the plot dropped. “Pure Silence” is underrated and deserves more success, so if you see me voting for this book in every list where it fits, don’t mind me.

Tropes (because I love when reviews list them):
- Love at first sight
- Strangers to lovers
- Age Gap
- Bdsm
- Possessive MC
- Dominant top / submissive bottom
- Younger top / older bottom
- Age gap
- Big guy bottoming / twink top
- Dirty talk from both of them, which I really loved btw (spoiler: Day uses Bible verses in his dirty talk – sacrilege can be hot, and only God can judge me)
- Disabled characters: Goldie suffers from chronic pain and, for me, a lot of Day’s difficulties can be interpreted as him being autistic. When I see a character with noise‑cancelling headphones and everyone thinks he’s weird, my brain immediately thinks about autism. I’m autistic, so maybe I’m biased, but I don’t say that to be offensive.

TW:
- Kidnapping/sequestration and Day drugs Goldie twice (spoiler: I would like to say “Justice for Day” because yes, he kidnapped his love interest – which is a crime – BUT it saved Goldie’s life. He would 100% have been assassinated without it. So thank who? Thank you, Day! And the second time, he drugs Goldie to make him rest – we love a thoughtful lover – and he even lowers the dose. What more could you want?)
- Fisting
- Watersports in one scene (spoiler: it only happens once because it represents Goldie’s “baptism” by Day)
- Can be interpreted as blasphemous

Goldie and Day, all I can say is what a unique couple. The first thing that comes to mind for me is this book has the element of creepiness to it. That creepiness is in the form of Day. His behaviour is so creepy and odd I would run a mile, so I question Goldie’s sanity more for sticking around in the beginning.

It’s a very unique, psychological coupling which I would not say is not a romance but it has romantic elements. It’s possessiveness but not in the standard “alpha” ways.

This is such a hard review as it’s difficult to explain but I enjoyed the dynamic. Loved the idea of Day and his ways, the darkness of his behaviour is portrayed as an act for the greater good, which by the time you finish the story, you actually are on board.

They have great chemistry, lots of steamy time and just a really enjoyable plot and story, especially approaching Halloween.

Pure Silence is part of the Virtuous Sinners. Its dark, raw and a little bit twisted. I don’t usually read much that has religion in it but this one seems to work well. Cassiday/Day is a killer who thinks he is working for God. Goldie saves Day one night. Day is a conundrum, he’s sweet but also violent. And Day thinks Goldie talks like an angel. I freakin loved this book so much!! It’s smoking hot and steamy with possessiveness! Overall, a fantastic read! Well written with pacing that hooked me.

This one was... different... and I totally dig that. It's a bit unhinged, and ott in the best possible way. Even with the abundant amount of sex scenes, it still has a solid plot and good character arcs. I found the writing entertaining and was captivated from the beginning to the end.

Includes:
Younger dom/older sub
A washed-up wrestler.
An extremely religious semi-morally gray MC who believes he is serving God's mission.
Multiple murders
An abundant amount of sex scenes.
Watersports (one scene)

Pure Silence was dark and intriguing at the same time. Cassiday is a murderer and he believes that is killing for God. When he sees a sinner he kills them, especially when he hears voices in his head. Goldie is an ex=wrestler and he saves Day one night and is attracted to him. The book is hot, steamy, sexy, and depraved and I read it in one sitting. There is some angst, paranormal, funny moments, action-packed, and deep religious beliefs in this book.
