Although I've gained the throne and the Flame, it doesn't replace the heartache left in devastation's wake. I've lost people that I loved and the place that I called home.

But I have no time to mourn.

As the first human ever to possess the Flame, I'm at a severe disadvantage and the clock is ticking. If I can't figure this out fast, I'm likely to be the next name added to an ever-increasing death toll staking up around me.

With an unknown enemy, power I can't control, and the sense of loss that threatens to crush me, a storm is beginning to brew.

And I'm not sure if I'll survive this one.

I tried really hard to enjoy this book but won’t be reading the next book. Asura is the worst female character I have ever encountered all she thinks about is sex and the way she acts is just plain annoying I honestly hope who ever is after her kills her and takes the throne because she certainly shouldn’t have it ! Only reason for the 2 stars is because I enjoyed some of the male characters.

Could not make it past 50% and will be making note to not read from this author again. I don’t know how I got this far in to be honest and I don’t really understand how this book is rated so high. Asura is hands down the most annoying fmc in a book series, she is so selfish it’s insane and always has an excuse or justification for her horrible actions. She doesn’t think rationally once and flips between having sex or raging and throwing an absolute childish temper tantrum. I had second hand embarrassment over how ridiculous she was.

Wayyyyy to many men, which I don’t normally like to judge but omg she is sleeping with everyone she meets. I can’t keep track of who is who. Also it’s basically a porno and she keeps having sex with them every two minutes. If you don’t look at those things tho you have a good book with a solid plot. A little shaky with the world building but it was okay.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 spice (smut w/some plot)

Man what a heartbreaking 3rd book. I bawled my eyes out! Dying to know what happens next. My opinions on the other two books can still be carried on to this one as well almost exactly. Mostly smut, interesting plot that barely develops really, and very fun characters. Smut is out of this world! That stepping scene???? Crazy. On to the next!

I'm honestly not sure why Asura has so many men falling all over her?

It's been a bit since I've read books 1&2 but in book 3 Asura doesn't really have any redeeming qualities.

She's mean and kind of a bitch to the guys who supposedly love her and isn't much better to the others either. All she thinks about is screwing her men but then gets angry when she's called out for only thinking about screwing her men. Probably won't continue with the story.

The amount of people she is having sex with atp is crazy
Like I know it's a rh but you can't have her fucking people who the readers have never met and have no connection too but apparently they had 'history' so it's okay

And come on can this girl learn to do something like idk try to save her own ass instead of constantly getting it handed back to her constantly

eh

If giving her all these mates means more s*x than story and/or dialogue, then 4 is enough! Honestly this was s*x with a couple words tossed in between.

a little more plot

Spice: 4/5

This book finally has a touch more plot. She’s finally realizing she’s been unfocused and her harem is finally actually speaking and treating a harem a lot more proper. I don’t like how up until now they’ve been jealous and our FMC has just been hoping from one guy to the next with no communication. They are now being more honest and working together a little better.

Another cliffhanger!!

Im still loving the plot. However, I am annoyed with Asura. She is selfish & makes terrible decisions.

Hopefully things change in the next book… 😮‍💨

Okay so i read the series all squished in together so heres my review for all four books as a whole.

Okay so our heroine is Asura. At first she's likeable and a bit bad but eventually i got tired of her always messing things up and running around like a chicken with no head. She doesn't try hard to better herself with only minimal training done that only slightly improves her fighting skills. She spends alot of time having se× with her boyfriends or mending relationships or fixing drama from having so many men on the go. I even got tired of her adding men and i love RH.

The plot is that Asura will be become queen of hell but ran away after seeing a vision of the future. She gets by by stripping. Then her old bff come to collect her and bring her home to her father where we is promptly sent to school. She collects 2 boyfriends in a matter of days and has her eye of 3 more include her old bff.

I DNF at 80%. I'm just tried of reading se× scenes and Asura not winning any fights worth fighting. She's a lost cause to me. She doesn't really deserve to be queen and should pass the Flame on to a hell hound in my opinion

I felt that this book is more of a 2.5/5 stars, but I decided to rate it higher because I genuinely like a lot of the characters.

Positive:

•Interesting concept
•RH w/h likable love interests
•Aesthetics
•Introduction

Negative:

•FMC became progressively less mature, weaker, and whiny
•New supernatural elements thrown in later that started to clash with the original premise of: demons, reapers, & hellhounds (also vampire mafia briefly in book 1 & end of this book)
•Plot felt like a mishmash of random events
•Lots of background characters introduced at once, which made them easy to confuse

Storyline (including books 1-3)

Asura, the demon/human hybrid daughter of the king of hell runs away to earth in an attempt to prevent a prophecy which foretells an apocalypse in hell. In doing so, she abandons her childhood friends (whom are in love with her).

On earth she lives a life as a stripper and becomes involved with a vampire who is associated with the vampire mafia. One of her childhood friends, along with his hellhounds show up at her club to bring her back to hell right as things go south with the vampires.

Upon meeting, Asura is instantly attracted to her childhood friend’s (Khazon’s) hellhound, Ledge… This becomes an ongoing point of conflict as Khazon is jealous of their developing relationship, concerned Ledge will become Asura’a hellhound, and bitter that Asura (his first love) left in the first place.

Back in hell, Asura is forced to become a reaper-in-training and attend an academy where she needs to recruit 3-4 hellhounds to be her bodyguards. The first two she’s interested in, aren’t interested in her. Ledge is already Khazon’s hellhound. The final hound, Hazen agrees to be hers.

Eventually Asura is able to convince the two uninterested hounds, Inarian and Jigsaw, to be hers. And by the end of book three, Khazon is so fed-up with Asura and Ledge that he drops him as being one of his hounds.

While all of this is going on, Asura’s uncontrollable demon side is revealed to be a separate entity from herself which ends up leaving her body when she witnesses the murder of her father and brother (at the end of book two) and inherits the “hell flame”.

We’re introduced to Thorne, Ryker, and Ozais who are also love interests that come up more in books two and three. The addition of them furthers a repetitive subtext where Asura will do something sexual with one of the male characters, then the other male characters get jealous and accuse Asura of: ‘taking none of her duties seriously because she only cares about sex’.

Things get a messy when the story is expanded from reapers, hellhounds, demons, and vampires to fae… Which gets to be a bit much since Hades and Persephone exist alongside Satan, Lucifer, and the dukes of hell.

Final Thoughts

Was this series worth the read? Yes, because a lot of the negative points can be overlooked if you like the characters as much as I did. I really do think this series has potential, so I plan to read the next book… But, admittedly there are a lot of issues and plot holes with the overall storyline.

I like to categorize my romances in two ways:
1- Plot with smut
2- Smut with plot
This doesn't fit in either... this was just smut that looked at what the definition of plot is...
Because we are 3 books in and I have no idea what the plot is supposed to be anymore? Is it ascending the throne? Is it becoming a Soul Reaper? Is it the assassins after her? Is it the Vampires after her?
Speaking of Vampires...So now we are just adding "boyfriends" in for convenience. We literally gained 2 more love interests purely for the sake of convenience to the "story", it literally felt like it was more convenient to make these new males her lovers as the only way they would be involved in her life.... but at the same time the 1 male who has been dangled in front of us from Page 1 of the first book randomly says fuck off and leaves...
We also get absolutely no relationship advancement... theres literally nothing to any of their relationships except sex... and yet we get declarations of love from/for one of the brand new lovers after like sex round 2 and yet nothing from/ for the person shes been with the longest...

I knew I should have stopped after book 2 but the cliffhanger was just enough of an attempt at a story to give me hope for book 3... sadly I will not be reading book 4.

Meh

Honestly, Asura is getting on my nerves. She expects the guys to be honest and vulnerable but gets pissed when they don’t see her being vulnerable. She takes what she wants, and assumes so much. I didn’t find her growing at all in this book. Especially after the end of the last one. I thought for sure she would mature and grow but no. She’s become even more mature and more explosive with the Flame inside her human body. I had really hoped it was a vision of her dad and little brother passing but it wasn’t. I could have gotten over her dad, but little 12 year old Fenric was unforgivable. What a waste of a character. It pissed me off. We learn more about who is after her. She has even more guys with her now. Ozrias, Khazon, ledger, Thorne, Hazen, Inarian, and Jigsaw.
She had somewhat of a heart to heart with her other brothers Killian and Derrick. Honestly this book would have been so much better if Asura wasn’t acting like a spoiled kid having everything taken from them. Hazen, Inarian and Jigsaw are orphans, their parents dying when they were young, they were poor and are beholden to their Reaper. They all want to support her but she just keeps lashing out. Kissing some new guy without keeping her originals in the know and then they find out later which causes a rift. It just fell flat to me with how strong it started off.

To be honest I probably would have given a 3 1/2 but I could not so I said screw it and did a 4 mainly due to the spicy scenes.

We up to five different guys now and every single one of them give Asura something in some kind of way and I love it. But lord I am waiting to see if khazon, ozias, or inarian is EVER going to happen!!!

And honestly Asura is starting to frustrate me a WHOLE bunch!!! Like her interactions with Khazon tick me off. I get the why from the beginning, but he freaking told you he has always loved you and your just like I’m attracted to you but no. And her tantrums sometimes (yes I’m going to call it that) are ridiculous!! I love she is fierce, independent, I don’t need no man attitude, but the reality is you do need your men to help stabilize the crazy that is you! Again every single one has a help to you. And freaking Ozias seems like this dark little sweet pea and I don’t understand why you won’t let him in the harem too. Now Inarian I get. I also get how he helps you and hopefully it’s coming soon. But he fighting that want so badly it’s like I just want to hit him knock him out tie him up and get you to just take advantage because he would like it. I’m really hoping Asura grows up some in the last book. But the scenes were hot!!

last of this series I will read

Enjoyed the first two books a lot. Now I feel the story is rushed and all she cares about is sex. I find the main character quite whiny and a bit of a spoiled brat. I thought she would develop more in the relationships but they all seem a bit insta love and there’s no real development. She met the fae ryker twice or maybe three times and now they’re in love. It’s not convincing there is no real foundation to any of the men except maybe ledger.
Asking to dominate each other is weird and feels very much like the writer wanted to have this but didn’t know how to just make it feel this way.
Cerces character is just thrown in randomly and given maybe a page of info then she’s back to having it on with them all. No real plot to it.. I love a bit of spice with a story but it’s all too rushed and forced for me.
She loves all her family so much but then instantly just turns on her dad as well and feels pretty much nothing for him.
Leaving the series here because I can’t take any more of her whining or pouting. Very disappointing because the first two books were 4* for me.

Fits. Fae. Fangs. and Fu…

*ARC Review*
I’m going 3.5 here because I swooned during each scene with Jigsaw. I think I’m going to go on the hunt for books where the character(s) is touched starved. It’s both incredibly sad and in this case incredibly hot. So to be clear this book very much falls into the smut category. The first 20 plus % was Asura throwing rage fits and then having someone sex some sense into her. Honestly, outside of the scenes with Jigsaw and Ryker the best parts where Khazon and Inarian reading her for filth. Asura is driving me nuts. I can’t think of a single useful or correct thing she done or choice she’s made. I did like that I we got some answers but more definitely popped up. If you come for the spicy it’s a little bit toxic but still pipping hot!

I wanted to like this book, but it was really hard. I felt like I was getting whiplash and it keeps moving in random directions away from the original plot from the first two. I can’t even bring myself to enjoy the 🌶🌶 anymore because everything just felt kind of rushed.
I had to reread certain parts just to remember where they were now and when they had gotten there. The characters banter that I enjoyed kind of died off and just turned into yelling matches. Only one character really got any growth, but even that felt overshadowed by all the chaos going on.
Why choose romantasy booms are my jam, but - and I can’t believe I’m saying this - this one, to me, felt like it needed dialed down a notch. Just like, one or two notches. The only reason I’m giving it two is because there were still some good plot twists and I did still feel for some of the characters. *some*

Book 3

Man, things are heating up…. literally and figuratively in this book. Asura officially has the flame after her father and brother are killed which makes her the queen of hell. After it happened, it kicks out her demon so she is holding the flame as a human which is supposed to be impossible. Things are tough for her now. She is fighting her anger that the flame brings out about the death of her family. There are many emotions that she is going through that she needs to navigate in this book. She takes it out on her men but they aren’t doing a very good job at comforting her at first. The cliffhanger was rough on this one but I am definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.

The third book in soul reaper academy picks up right after the death of ascuras father and little brother, leaving ascura as the queen of hell. Hurt, betrayal, and lost ascura is determined to find vengeance for her father and brother, but her anger leaves her vulnerable to the flame.

These cliff hangers are really getting to me I devoured this book in one sitting! Finally inarian and ascura kiss but it’s left on a bitter sweet note with her finding out he was only around for the money. I completely forgot about Thorne but now that he’s back I need more of him!! Impatiently waiting for book 4!!

Shorter than I expected!

I finished book 1 and 2 a week or two ago, and didn't realize at the time that the series wasn't complete somehow (my bad!). I was happy I didn't have long to wait for this one, but was disappointed it was less than 200 pages long. I finished it within a couple of hours.

THAT said, I am LOVING this series so much. Yes, this particular book is short, but it's still important and continuing the storyline. I typically have suspicions about how a series will end, or who will end up where, but this one could really go either way with some of the characters! I'm excited for the next book, and am (impatiently) counting down the days for it!

God,I can't believe how bad it got.. this book is embarrassing and pathetic. I read up to here only for the Devil, his relationship with his children was too cute. Otherwise? PATHETIC.
From the first to the last page, Asura behaves like a bitch in heat. everything excites her..if one boy looks at her, her panties are wet, just like that. Every fucking guy in this book excites her.
Some of the guys are actually great, but the rest of them..assholes.
Everything turns down to sex, even though she lies to herself that she is preparing to rule a kingdom. She's too childish, she gets angry at everything, drama all the time and all this drama leads to sex 🤦🏻‍♀️I really can't fucking stand her

Good but…..

This book needs some editing. I was confused at times by the transitions between paragraphs that made absolutely no sense. The sentences with missing words would have my brain automatically inserting the missing verbiage which was distracting and would in turn cause me to read the same sentence multiple times for it to make sense. The steam is there, but this book could have been a hundred pages longer to embrace the world building I was hopping to see in book 3 of this series. I do appreciate the multiple POV. Always like to see what is going on in the different characters minds.

I don't know how I ended up in the 3rd book of the series...still going to read the 4th because I'm too curious not to know how it ends. *eye roll*

I wish we had more POVs of the males. A lot of inconsistencies. Asura talks about how she's been preparing to take over the throne since she was a child but none of her actions show it. I totally get wanted to put spice in the books but Asura seems a little bit ditzy to me😂. Literally more than half of her thoughts are just admiring looks on the guys. It's fine though
