My new boss? A billionaire marketing genius known for charming the pants off women. Me? I’m just trying to learn from him while keeping my pants on, thank you very much.

Except the elevator has other ideas, because within five minutes of meeting my new boss, it eats my skirt. Doing an interview in granny panties wasn’t my idea of a perfect meet-cute… and yet Emery Brooks offers me the job.

I’m a pro at selling steamy romance books on ChitChat, the hottest social media app, and he needs me to join his advertising business. It’s only a little embarrassing that he’s seen my videos on #BookChat detailing exactly how I like my spice…

But I prefer book boyfriends to real ones, and Emery doesn’t do “dating.” We’re strictly business. Honestly, really really strict (my private fantasies don’t count!).

Until he catches me with my pants down. Again. And I discover that Emery might be the world’s biggest liar… in all the right ways. He acts like Prince Charming, but there’s nothing polite about what he does behind closed office doors. Or on a hotel balcony.

But I’ve read too many romance novels. There’s always a shoe waiting to drop… and happily-ever-afters only exist on the page.

Sylvia Hart fell in love with romance books at a young age (along with Richard Gere). She is decidedly against the daily wearing of corsets (bedroom wear is a totally different story), so she’s decided to settle for a billionaire instead of a prince.

But not just any billionaire will do. This girl needs one that looks good in a suit and in the sheets.

Since she hasn’t found said billionaire, she’s decided to write about them. Cold and brooding or fiery and fierce, she’s willing to explore the possibilities. But, behind every silk tie, there will always be a heart of gold. Even if he doesn’t realize it from the beginning.

Emery Brooks with his two friends owned Aspire, an advertising agency.
He believed that by presenting people a specific persona was the master key to success.
Well, his facade minimised any interest I had for this story.

Let me share with you some of Emery’s thoughts.
«If I want Aspire to continue to grow and succeed, my image is the one that everyone knows.»
«And the world loves Emery Brooks, the playboy who always has the world at his fingertips.»
«I have an image to maintain, and part of that is being in the public eye for the entire night.»
«I have to be the man that everyone believes I am. I have to play nice with the women that just want to use me.»

He always had a practiced smile on his face, tried to be charming, went clubbing or dining for a reason that didn’t necessarily include fun.
I found his perception of gaining success farfetched and disturbing.

I don’t believe seeing a man partying constantly, being rich and going out with a different female model each time, people will see him successful or trustworthy.

The concept was interesting, I liked Madison and I enjoyed her banter with Emery.
However, those were not enough to save this read for me. Dnf @ 46%

If you are looking for a spicy book that will make you laugh and also make you sweat, then… this book is for you.

Stars: 4.5/5
Spice: 4/5

Madison an equivalent of a successful booktoker has been hired as an intern by Emery’s ad company to try and break into the market. Emery, who is a playboy, finds himself inexplicably drawn to her and her talent and finds himself unable to stay away.

I’m not always a fan of the meet cutes, but in this case, it was so entertaining to read. I loved that Madison spoke to the inner booktoker/nerd in me and was so easy to relate to. I appreciate that the author gave Emery flaws and didn’t make his exactly likable in the beginning until she slowly reveals his true character, and we find a compelling a lovable book boyfriend. I also loved that the relationship was not insta love or lust but that they only intrigued each other and built upon that.

This is my second book by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more.

This is my first Sylvia Hart read, and it was a surprisingly good read. The characters had depth, the story kept me reading, the heat was explosive, and the payout was just right.

I will certainly read another Ms. Hart book.

You'll enjoy Madison and Emery's story that's part of the Billionaire Bosses of New York Series. She a 22 year old social media marketing wiz of steamy romance books. She prefers her book boyfriends to real ones. After a humiliating elevator experience where her skirt gets caught in the door she has her interview. She's amazed when she gets the intern job working for Ad Agency billionaire Emery. He gorgeous and a major playboy who's photographed with a different babe daily. The book is good and it's fun watching their relationship grow and the real Emery is exposed. His 'playboy persona' was a little over the top and I couldn't understand why he thought that 'image' was so important to his business. Their chemistry was explosive and there's no shortage of steam. I received a free copy of this book via Booksirens and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Vlogger + advertising exec = match made in heaven - right?

This is another fun and spicy read from Sylvia Hart. Although steer clear if you aren’t a fan of breath play in steamy scenes. The characters’ are well developed, and have to deal with a bit of baggage before they have a chance of making their relationship work. I had a bit of trouble sympathising with some of the ultimatums and knee jerk reactions in the third quarter of the book. However, it was very fun to read about a sassy romance book lover, and I am looking forward to the next in this series.

Full disclosure: I was given an ARC of the book, however this review is my own honest opinion.

Warning: although this book is spicy I wish someone had warned me that you need to enjoy sexual encounters that revolve around dominance and in the later half of the book things like choking your partner while having sex. Personally, not my thing.

Now about the storyline itself…

Started out great. Really made me laugh. Then it just lost me in the ridiculousness (and I do not mean that in a good way). Two people dating for about two weeks and then she gets upset that he hasn’t changed his whole life for her. He still the same person he was two weeks before except he is secretly head over heels for her, and they are exclusively dating abut secretly. He says he’ll start changing because it bothers her and she’s gonna walk away. She decide she’s going to tough it out and be strong for him but two days later she breaks up because OMG he didn’t instantly destroy his career and give up his entire life for her shouting to the world she is his woman. Seriously Stupid. Especially when it’s obviously pointed out that she’s been played for a fool. Sorry, but I just can’t stand a female lead that pathetically weak.

Will he understand the mask has to come off to keep the girl …

This is not my usual read, as I read few contemporary romances and even less office’s.
Yet yesterday I was in the mood and saw this new release advertised as a bargain, and definitely it was one.

After the heroine being a bookworm was what sold it to me, among the thousands of books sitting on my shelves.
I checked my Goodreads page and the author is new to me, well like hundreds as there is still not enough hours a day to read them all.

Be warned, this book is hot hot hot!
Emery is the image behind the business he built with his friends, so much he lost himself and does not really who he is outside the facade he shows to the world.
Madison is a nobody in his world, but she hold the key to a new road, one Aspire needs to explore to develop as the world is changing around them.

Madison in the end is more than a tool to unleash his business to a new level, she also holds the key to his heart, if Emery is willing to shred his armor. She does not want the knight but the beast inside the suit.

I read books, I review them but I am unable to do what Madison does, going online. I admire those who are able to put themselves under the harsh lenses of a camera and talk about books, or other things they like, not about themselves but share their findings with others not because it is their job but because they liked/loved this or that.

And while Emery and Madison’s romance is scorching hot, moving and wild coaster journey, it was also fun to watch the advertising media under a different light.
As for Madison’s favorite book, Beauty and The Beast, this is one of my favorite story and trope, and I loved the author’s analysis of it :
“I don’t want Beast to turn back into a human, to become civilized all the time and become just another rich guy.  I want him to break the collar of restraint and show me exactly how much he wants me.“
I agree, along the pages of the fairytale or its retelling or even the Disney movies or the French ones (after all I am French), I do not like when the beast turns into the prince, it is the Beast I fell in love with, not the polished pretty version of him.

Madison has recently graduated and gets her first internship after the most mortifying job interview ever. Emery Brooks hires her for an internship to do social media campaigns on the video platform that her bookish account is quite popular at. However, she has to start from scratch as she doesn't really know or care about the beauty products that she is supposed to be selling. She's a former pageant toddler who used to be judged for her beauty, and her book boyfriends appeal to her as they are less critical than real people.

Her boss Emery turns out to be a huge distraction. Emery runs his ad agency like a cult leader. He gives charismatic motivational speeches and has created this successful playboy persona that is largely fake. He's got a billionaire mansion and a dozen luxury cars and feels like he has to keep showing up at pool parties with various bikini babes so his reputation and business doesn't suffer. It's part of his illusion, like he's the most interesting man in the world, someone who can buy anything he wants and get any woman he wants. It's not what he wants, he feels suffocated by his role, and it's difficult for Madison to cope with. Can he shed the masks enough to be someone she could live with? Fake smiles just for show aren't really her thing after the pageant circuit.

If you can take Emery's persona for granted this is an awesome read. I loved the lighthouse imagery and the bits that went a little meta about romance novels and overall it's an entertaining and gripping story, and the way threads come together at the end was very sweet.

Steam level: Lots of sexual content including mild slapping, choking, public displays of, ahem.

I have to admit though, I had some trouble buying Emery's playboy playacting because his desire to keep it up didn't really make any sense to me. I understand that his theory was that the glamour of success would bring in more success but are prospective ad buyers really going to think that a man with a steady girlfriend can't be successful? How many entrepreneurs believe that Emery will make them better ads if it looks like he parties a ton, sleeps around with supermodels, and can't keep a girlfriend? Some might be turned off by that sort of thing, thinking that he won't take anything seriously. At some point he is counting months, thinking how much longer until he can stop making appearances, and I was a bit sceptical about that as well. I don't know how famous an ad agency owner can be, how many can you name off the top of your head? Are most prospective clients really such die-hard gossip blog addicts that they'd even notice how long it's been since Emery has last been photographed at a pool party with a different blonde?
And granted, I don't really know anything about ad agencies but I wouldn't have thought that you'd earn a billion dollars running a small operation like Aspire appears to be. His social media success is in the hands of one 22-year old intern doing two campaigns with three people in her team.

TL;DR: If you can just take his playboy billionaire mask for a given you will find a gripping, sexy read with entertaining banter, flawless editing and interesting main characters.

🌟🌟🌟🌟

ARC book from BookSirens in exchange for an honest and open review.

This is the first book by Sylvia Hart I have read.

It is the first book in the Billionaire Bosses of New York series and is a billionaire office romance. Book 1 focuses on Madison Carter & Emery Brooks. This is told from dual P.O.V's, which I love.

Madison is hired by Emery as an intern in his company Aspire (even after her initial meeting with him results in her skirt getting trapped in the elevator and flashing him her granny panties). She is to help launch successful campaigns for products through a service called ChitChat which Madison uses all the time for posting book review videos. Madison is a massive book lover (just like me).

Feelings between them grow quickly and there is a lot of heat, however due to their working relationship, they need to keep their romance a secret.

As Emery is the face of the company he must attend red carpet events and in his words, be seen with at least one beautiful woman. He promises Madison nothing will ever happen between him and the women he attends the events with, even though it definitely has in the past. This leaves Madison feeling jealous and left in the shadows.

In some parts of the book I really didn't like Emery, such as when he attended an event and his thoughts were "Tonight is a success, probably more successful than if I'd bought Madison", even though he is continually thinking of Madison as gorgeous. Also when around 85% in he says he will tell everyone about them when he no longer has to keep Aspire afloat, but it will take time. He and the two friends who own the company with him are billionaires??

I love the ending where Emery uses ChitChat to show the world how he feels about Madison.

Social media influencer Madison is an expert at creating ChitChat videos about her favorite steamy romances, but when the best advertising firm in New York calls her for an interview she's less than confident. Running late, she barely squeaks into the elevator on time only to have her skirt get caught in the doors and ripped off exposing her granny panties to the very man she's scheduled to interview with. To her shock, she's hired.

When Em created his advertising firm with his two best friends, he was the most likely to be the face of the company. His playboy persona Emory Brooks is always happy, always dressed for success, with a beautiful woman on his arm for any public event. Then he meets Madison when she literally rips her clothes off in the elevator and he longs to be just Em again. He's always believed in the saying "You can have anything in the world if you're willing to sacrifice everything else". But what if the thing you want the most has changed?

This book was so good. I love how Em keeps catching her in her most embarrassing moments. Beauty and the Beast is Madison's favorite book and I love the comparison she makes between Em and the beast because I felt the same way. The beast is the one you feel in love with throughout the book, and I didn't really like the polished and perfect prince in the end. And with Em she prefers him rough and real rather than his mask of Emory.

Oh, this book. I loved it. A strong FMC is always my favorite. She has her past and her scars, but she doesn't whine. She knows what she wants, what she doesn't, and what she is worth.

The MMC is a lost boy, struggling to find himself again. He knows what he wants and will do anything to get it, he just doesn't know how.

This book had so much heart, and loads of steamy, gritty scenes. I loved the blending of the two. I felt it was done in perfect balance. The plot was great as well. I love that the FMC was a big bookie. I love that view point of a reader was brought so strongly into this book and that every bit of it was so true. I could relate to it all. The two MC were quickly swept away, finding in one another the safe harbor they craved, where they could finally be their true selves. Like any good romance story, they faced their storms, but I love that even in the eye of it, it wasn't their love that faltered, it wasn't real insecurities and doubts that got between them. They didn't doubt their love for one another. Just that they could remain true to themselves through it all.

I'd would read this book again, and I eagerly await the stories of the 2 best friends of the MMC. One I feel was set up nicely to be book 2 and I am excited to read it, as well as other works by this author.

I highly recommend this book to all lovers of romance, who don't mind a little naughty in their pages.

4⭐️ / 3.5🌶

Madison is a ChitChat influencer for BookChat and has found herself getting a job as an intern for a marketing firm to get this company on the map in ChitChat.
Madison believes no one can beat her Book Boyfriends and is not fooled by her boss’s charms that seem to get everyone to eat out of his hands.

Emerson is an owner of Aspire and has always put on his “Emerson Persona” whenever he goes out. Has a new beautiful woman on his arm each time, but, when he meets his new intern and she speaks what’s on her mind, it intrigues him and he can’t stay away.

Overall, I really did like this book. The banter between the two main characters was great. I love when they go back and forth, you can feel the tension there that then changes into sexual tension. Chemistry definitely came off the page between Emerson and Madison.

What kept me from giving it 5⭐️‘s was the official climax, the big conflict, it just didn’t hit that good with me. Madison is very thorough in her thoughts, she’s a very mature 22year old and it just felt a little unbelievable that this was her reaction to the conflict/misunderstanding. BUT I loved the way it was resolved, it was something I didn’t see coming and really liked it.

Will definitely read another book from this author and will recommend it to others.

I really liked this book and I know I like this author’s work. This wasn’t my first Sylvia Hart book. Madison and Emery were a good couple, especially once Emery figured out how to love himself. I like that Madison was mature enough at her younger age to be able to recognize that he maybe didn’t love himself as he should and forced him to fix himself. Very astute of her!

I like the way the grand gesture was written. In the spirit of not giving spoilers I won’t say much on this, just that it was a very endearing, fall-on-your-sword way to make the situation right. I loved every second of it.

I also love that their love for each other was never really the question. Too often, books where one or both of the main characters have to find themselves, the love is questioned or there is cheating or something. This book did not have that and I appreciated that so much!

I thought the mai characters were well described and well written which I appreciate too. The side characters were interesting but they didn’t take over the story. That is super important. They were just interesting enough that it would be cool to read their own main stories but, I don’t NEED to read them to feel like this book fulfilled me.

Very good book! I recommend it! I received an advance review copy for free via Booksirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm all for a good billionaire romance and this delivered! I love my billionaire mmc to be a little arrogant with the dazzling smile that is believed to melt anyone in their paths underwear right off. For an arrogant billionaire to be able to get away with this he needs a strong mfc that doesn't take his sh*t, talks back and isn't swayed by his charms. This story gives you just that with a bit of an identity crisis, trying to find oneself and not letting others control who you are.

This story pulled me in from the elevator scene right till the end. I loved how Madison always stood up for herself till the very end. Even though she so wanted to give in she never did. She valued herself above all and was honest if when lying could have gotten her everything she could ever imagine. She was strong even when she was weak and pulled others around her up with her bright personality.

I love to hate a billionaire like Emery, he's got everything he could ever possibly imagine he could ever want, but it's that ever really the case? He thinks he's untouchable when clearly he's a mess. When he finally realizes this, he thinks there's nothing to be done to change it but he with his growing love for Madison he starts to reconnect with the him he thought was long lost. Together they can weather any storm as long as they always remember what they are fighting for.

Oh how I loved this book.

If I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about Madison and Em. Madison is a strong, independent, entrepreneur. She was extremely relatable from the beginning. (She don’t need no man, or a 6-figure job!!!) Em, on the other hand, is a successful businessman willing to do whatever it takes to uphold his public image. He doesn’t know who he is outside of his career. Both characters experience a touch of identity crisis throughout.

Will Madison lose herself in her relationship with Em or will Em find himself through Madison?

Both MC’s experience trials related to their childhood upbringing. This is not something that not many romance novels touch on, but I love the depth it provided for the characters. It feels like I have known both characters for their entire lives and made them that much more relatable.

The fact that my favorite book contributed to Madison’s dreams and desires was *chefs kiss*.

I look forward to reading more of this authors work.

I received this book as an ARC, but am willingly leaving this review.

Tricky Business is a stand alone, billionaire-office story. I’d like to give the story 3.5 stars. The heroine has a background promoting books on social media and loves reading, so avid readers should appreciate the thoughtful gifts given throughout the story and tie ins with book life (reviews, signings, etc). I’ve also read The Billionaire Games series by Sylvia Hart, which I preferred. The intimate scenes are a bit rougher in Tricky Business and there were some significant gaps in the story events. It’s tough to explain what was missing in Tricky Business without spoilers, but several parts of the story line mysteriously dropped out, and events or conversations that should have been significant weren’t mentioned at all. Because I did really like The Billionaire Games, I do want to give book 2 of this series a try.

I received a copy of this book at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

Layered with complexity and heart:
Whilst billionaire romance can get a bit old, this nevertheless had enough emotion and uniqueness to keep it fresh. It was more steamy and erotic than her other works but it also had a sweet, tender and touching side. There was also some nice humour and I enjoyed the light hearted moments. It was also fun having the heroine be such a romance novel fan!
Madison and Emery made a wonderful couple and I thought they complimented and enhanced one another. I enjoyed having the layers pulled back so that we got to know and understand the characters better as there was a complexity to them. It was fabulous watching them evolve as both individuals and as a couple.
Overall this was an exciting start to the new series and I would be interested in finding out more about the other billionaire bachelors in upcoming books.

Madison is an influencer for romance books. An advertising company is interested in hiring her due to the fact her ChitChat videos rake in thousands of viewers. When she goes for the interview shes running into the elevator for her interview and just makes it only to catch her skirt in the door. After its ripped off of her she comes face to face with Emery Brooks. The man shes supposed to interview with. Shes captivated by him, just as he is by her. Emery Brooks is a playboy businessman who just wants to be himself again. But hes the face of the company and must stay with that personna. Meeting Madison could bring back what he originally wanted out of life. I just adore these two characters Great writting and so many amazing laughs. You wont be dissappointed reading this book.

I’d rate this book a 3.8 ⭐️ with 2 🌶

It was so good - A great billionaire boss romance that started with an embarrassing meet cute!

I loved the story behind our main FMC Madison - a college graduate who paid her way making book reviews on an app! So relevant to a load of different people in this day. She’s recruited for her talent and really shows the marketing business how to break into social media…

Emery, her boss has lost his identity, he’s put his all into his company and started doing things he does not like in order to keep a certain persona and the media happy but Madison comes in and really makes him rethink things.

I’m happy the drama in this story was at a minimum but the feelings and smut were at a high!

The chemistry between this couple was hot and so prominent - the smut 🥵

I highly recommended Sylvia’s books!

TRICKY BUSINESS is breathtakingly romantic. I loved the entire concept built around the advertising agency trying to break into marketing in social media, but it was the characters of Emery and Madison that made the story unforgettable.

Emery is the charismatic face of the company - famous for his bachelor lifestyle and different beautiful model or actress on his arm at endless events. He hires Madison despite an embarrassing first meeting and despite her insistence that she couldn’t do the job. It just kept getting better with some funny moments, heart tugging moments and well written steamy moments.

There are a number of subplots that are woven in seamlessly that made it impossible for me to put the book down until I was finished with it.

This is a scorching hot romance between a billionaire advertising business partner and an intern hired to introduce the agency to social media marketing. The reader gets dual points of view. Interestingly, charismatic alpha Emery turns out to have unexpected vulnerabilities. Likewise, Madison has unanticipated strength of character, wisdom, and a surprising interest in kink, even though she’s only a young social media book-guru. Both characters face challenges as they find love with each other. Best HEA ever! I’m definitely going to have to immediately read the other books of this series, and highly recommend this story. To tell the truth, it wasn't a bad read but I find I did not like the heroine at all. I would have appreciated a proper conversation between her and the hero explaining her insecurities properly. She did tell him she had trust issues, etc. but she never explained the why. There was a lot of mention of her pageantry past to the reader but I don't think she ever told the hero any of that. He did give her some insight into who he was and why so there was time for her to share a little at some point. I would have loved to see Shonda's comeuppance and to really understand why she did what she did. I also did not like that the heroine was so anti-spotlight even with having a massive social media following and the hero got her back by blowing up her social media even more.

Good storyline, disagree about the use of perfect book boyfriend

Liked the storyline and writing a lot. I just had a problem with the idea of this guy being the perfect book boyfriend, IMO. I like all kinds of romance, from hot to steamy and graphic, even BDSM. While I get that lots of people like pain and humiliation, I would never consider that to be a perfect "book boyfriend". Just seems like you are trying to put search words into a story to get people to buy/read it even if it doesn't really meet the generally recognized definition. Again, just my opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of others that are fine with it. :-)

This story had absolutely no right to make me feel the things I did. In every sense of the word.

The first book in absolutely forever I’ve been able to actually insert myself as the main character and everything about Madison was glorious. She’s wild, untame & absolutely unapologetic. She’s everything I aspire to be as a bookworm boyfriend connoisseur.

Em will ruin all other men for you. Cold hard facts. Only read this if you’re willing to settle for less forever.

If it were possible to give this book 100 stars you best believe your nelly I would.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5 Stars
🔥🔥🔥 3/5 Steam Rating
📝 Alternating 1st Person POV; Available on KU

This book really kicked off with a bang with a fun meet cute involving an elevator eating the heroines skirt. 😂 This story had nods to Beauty & the Beast sprinkled throughout, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

While I also really enjoyed the “Use Me”/Secret Relationship/Rough Sex tropes, but I wanted a bit more description when it came to the steamy scenes. I just felt like they didn’t quite live up to their potential.

*Thank you to the author for this gifted book. This opinion is my own.*

Playboy, billionaire, kinky, sinful passions....
The true love between Madison and Em was a breathtaking romance. The story line is about an agency trying to break the barrier into the marketing social media. Em is charismatic and a charming billionaire. After an awkward first meet, Em hires Madison into his company ignoring her complaints saying she couldn't do the job well enough. Between the plot and the super steamy scenes, I did not want to put this book down!
This is book 1 in a duo set. Book 2 is Dirty Business. l will definitely be reading the second book!

Emery is head of a company and hires Madison as an intern to lead a project that is the first one the company does on Tik tok. Madison makes booktok videos on the app which is why she was hired.
So many of my favorite tropes
- boss x employee
- Billionaire
- Secret relationship

There is lots of good banter and the spice was so well written.. basically Emery and Madison actually do all the best smutty things you read in books. There was a third act breakup but it wasn’t as awful/annoying as some of the others. This is one my favorite books I’ve read in a hot minute.

This was such a good book! I love that Madison, a romance book lover, is starring in her very own romance. I was intrigued from the moment Emery hired her and was captivated by the way she captivated him. This love story has a little bit of everything: characters who are flawed, but complement one another, hot men, power dynamics, and love. Highly recommend.
