Hannah Monroe is ready to dazzle customers with her pop-up shop at NYC’s winter holiday market. NYPD beat cop Toby Beckett, who just wants to protect and serve, barely notices the spirit of the season until events keep pushing her into Hannah’s path.
Maggie Cummings lives in Staten Island, New York, with her wife and their two children. She has degrees in English, theater, and criminal justice. She works in law enforcement in the NYC metropolitan area.
Hannah owes a skin care line and is selling from a booth at the Christmas Holliday Market in NYC. Toby Beckett is a NYC cop assigned duty at the market. There is a meet cute as a shop lifter Toby is arresting stumbles into Hannahs booth. I enjoyed the feel of Christmas in NYC. Christmas romances leave you happy and feeling love even after the holiday season. A lot of details and even a couple dates in this holiday novella. This was originally released as part of a three story Christmas Anthology called "All I Want for Christmas" (Dec 2020). Released as a solo novella (119 pages) Dec 2022.
2 stars. Weakest story in this collection. The characters were fine but there was some #NotAllCops vibes in this and I don’t fuck with that. There was no nuance to the subject. Also, I was just incredibly bored. Nothing of interest happened and while the romance was fine I didn’t really get the chemistry between Hannah and Toby.
