Wanda Danvers is always the life of the party. She sets her own terms and answers to no one. Her love life is no exception even if she is dating the talented and handsome Cameron Copeland. But before things can really take off, her teenaged step-sister shows up on her doorstep, needing a place to stay. Now with a teenager to care for, dating is complicated and so is Cameron. Suddenly he’s asking for a commitment… something Wanda has vowed never to give.
Cameron Copeland knows what he wants. And what he wants is Wanda Danvers. He’s ready to settle down, but how can he convince the commitment-phobic woman of his dreams he means business when he’s always traveling out of town for work? Add in a troubled teenager to the mix and Cameron has some serious work to do. But just as he’s ready to show Wanda he’s worth the risk, his ex shows up in town, throwing a wrench in his plans and now he’s at risk of losing the only person he’s ever wanted.

Muse of the Witch is book nine in the Witches of Keating Hollow sereis by Deanna Chase.
I recommend reading the series in order, but you can read Muse of the Witch on its own.
Returning to Keating Hollow is like seeing an old friend. Each book brings old friends and new couples to fall in love with. The characters are endearing and it’s been so much fun following along on their journey. The romances are sweet and heart-warming.
Wanda is the local resident Real Estate Agate in Keating Hollow and friends with Amy from book one. She prefers her lifestyle as is with no romantic commitments and answering to no one, but herself. Cameron travels out of town a lot for work and isn’t looking for a commitment either. Both are comfortable with their relationship until everything changed.
We have some unexpected arrivals that put a kick in Wanda and Cameron’s budding romance. Will they settle down or not? We don’t see them spending a lot of time together as a couple. They are that, on again off again couple, when in town, but Cameron tries to change that only to have his ex show up.
The town of Keating Hollow is very close knit and we get to meet both Wanda and Cameron’s family’s. Plus old friends.
Muse of the witch is another humorous and sweet paranormal romance.
This is a great story that I did not want to put down. The story is engaging, and the characters are endearing; it was enjoyable following along on these characters journey. This is a great addition to this series.
This is the ninth book in the Keating Hollow series, and it’s just as good as the other ones. Before I go any further, I have to make a confession: I’m not a big romance fan. Oh, they’re OK, but they aren’t my favorite. And, when I started to read this, I thought to myself, I know I’ll like it because I love this author, but it was just a fluke about the other books. No, it wasn’t a fluke. This author just has a way of drawing you in with great characters, heart-warming stories, and HEAs that just wonderfully match the characters. The journey there is always fabulous with tears, laughter, and above all, great love. If you need a little pick-me-up, give this book a try. You don’t need to have read the others in the series, but they are great too. Highly recommend! I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Muse of the Witch by Deanna Chase has Wanda Danvers trying to surprise Cameron Copeland in Keating Hollow, California. Wanda ends up the one surprised and embarrassed. Wanda and Cameron have an untraditional relationship which has suited them until now. Wanda arrives home to find her half-sister, Blake who needs a place to live. Cameron is ready for a traditional relationship with Wanda, but he first needs to convince her. Wanda has always been independent which allows her to live her life on her terms. Now, with a teenager in the house, things are changing. She does not know if it is wise to add Cameron to the mix. Then Cameron gets some unexpected news. Cameron’s mother wants to see her son happy and settled so he can provide her with a few grandchildren. Life is about to get interesting in Keating Hollow. Muse of the Witch is the 9th novel in Witches of Keating Hollow series. I recommend reading the series in order, but you can read Muse of the Witch on its own. Deanna Chase has provided another humorous paranormal romance. The book starts off with a tongue in cheek scene that will have you laughing out loud. The amusement does not stop there. I like the characters and the town that Deanna Chase has created. I like that the characters from the other books appear in this one. It is nice to catch up with them. I do want readers to be aware that the story has intimate situations and foul language. I would love to have a magically enhanced golf cart like Wanda’s. I just love the golf cart races. Cameron’s mother is a hoot. I found her to be a delightful addition. Muse of the Witch has drama, humor, romance, and magic mixed together into one entertaining story.
Book 9 and I fall more in love with Keating Hollow with each new book. Wandas story was definitely worth the wait and wow Cameron was also worth waiting for. I love the romance. I adore the characters and the town just makes me want to move in and set down roots. This book was even better for Cameron’s mother omg that woman is awesomely hilarious.
Deanna Chase returns to Keating Hollow with her newest release, Muse of the Witch. Wanda Danvers enjoys her independence and has never planned on marriage or children. When she starts seeing Cameron Copeland, she doesn’t expect anything permanent, and neither does he. She figures they’ll have a good time together while he’s in Keating Hollow and then go their separate ways with some happy (and sexy) memories. However, life doesn’t always work out like we plan, and soon Wanda realizes that Cameron might want more from her than she thought he would. She also unexpectedly finds herself raising a teenager when her half-sister, Blake, shows up on her doorstep. Wanda’s father and stepmother have basically abandoned the girl, and Blake’s beloved grandmother isn’t healthy enough to take her in. Wanda refuses to let her sister down and promises Blake that she’ll always have a home with Wanda. But Wanda worries that her continuing to see Cameron isn’t in Blake’s best interest. Wanda is afraid to let Blake get used to having Cameron around and then feel abandoned again if things don’t work out between them. She tries to end things with Cameron but keeps finding herself drawn to him. While Wanda’s trying to figure out her suddenly complicated life, Cameron’s life takes a surprising turn as well when he learns that his first love kept a major secret from him. Nothing is turning out the way either Wanda or Cameron thought it would, but they just might find that what they thought they wanted isn’t what they needed.
Muse of the Witch isn’t the first book in this series to see a character take in a teenaged sibling or expand his or her family in an unexpected way. Family bonds have been a strong undercurrent in all of the books in this series. I have enjoyed the way Ms. Chase has explored the emotions surrounding these situations. I thought the scenes in this book where Blake confronts the reality of her maternal relationship were particularly powerful. Blake’s heartbreak after meeting with her mother felt very realistic and made me empathize with her. My only real complaint concerns how Wanda dealt with helping Blake deal with her sense of abandonment. Since Wanda is best friends with Abby Townsend, it seemed unrealistic to me that she wouldn’t have sought Abby’s advice on how to help Blake. Abby dealt with a very similar situation with her mother (although she wasn’t as alone as Blake since Lincoln Townsend is a great father). Wanda spoke with Abby about her relationship with Cameron so it’s obvious that Wanda feels comfortable confiding in Abby. I thought not bringing Abby’s experience into this storyline was a missed opportunity.
While this book contains a number of serious topics and situations, Ms. Chase also does a great job of including a great deal of humor. I really enjoy when an author finds the right balance between humorous and serious. Cameron’s mother, Emily, is a particularly welcome addition to this series, and I hope that she continues to make appearances in future books. I love how blunt she is with Cameron about his relationship with Wanda, especially her comments about walking in on Wanda when she was trying to surprise Cameron in his room at the inn. Ms. Chase really captures the embarrassment that even an adult can still feel when dealing with sex and parents. Muse of the Witch also includes another great golf cart racing scene; this time with a little twist. Instead of Wanda and Abby going head-to-head, in this book they’re on a team against Emily, Claire (Lincoln’s girlfriend), and Hanna’s mother Mary. Adding the older women to the younger women’s racing fun was an excellent idea, and it’s also something I’d like to see more of in the future.
Muse of the Witch is another enjoyable offering from Deanna Chase, and I highly recommend it. I received an ARC of the book from author, but that didn’t influence my review.

Cameron Copeland and Wanda Danvers knew they had something between them. Both were ready only for a casual relationship - or so they thought.
Wanda Danvers prided herself in her independence. She wasn't interested in coupling up like all of her friends in Keating Hollow. She was happy on her own. Her new relationship with Cameron fit her just fine. Cameron Copeland was much the same. He had avoided serious relationships since his heart was broken almost 20 years before. He liked that he and Wanda were on the same page and enjoyed the time they were able to spend together. He was often called away to Hollywood or other locations due to his screenwriting/producing career. His work with Miranda Moon kept him returning to Keating Hollow to continue their co-writing of a hot new series. Both Cameron and Wanda were comfortable in the newness of their relationship.
Enter the complications - Blake, Wanda's half-sister from North Carolina showed up on her doorstep needing a place to stay after her drug-addicted parents took off for parts unknown. Wanda needed to focus her time and energy on helping Blake deal with the rejection of her parents. At the same time, Camerone finds out he has a son from his high-school sweetheart who is now 19 years old and looking for his long-lost father.
Can Cameron and Wanda fit their blooming relationship into the mix of careers and family?
We have another wonderful Keating Hollow book. Cameron Copeland finally knows what he wants, and that is a serious commitment from Wanda Danvers. He is ready to settle down. Wanda prefers their non-committal lifestyle where she answers to no one except herself. It’s difficult for Cameron to show her that he is serious about this when he has to travel out of town so often for work. And when her half-sister, Blake, arrives needing a place to live, the troubled teenager complicates Cameron’s efforts even more. As he finally decides show Wanda he is worth taking a risk on, his ex shows up and messes up his plans, even to the point of making him possibly lose the one person he wants in his life. Where does he go from here? How does he get through to Wanda with everything else getting in the way?
I love this author’s books and returning to Keating Hollow is always so much fun! The characters feel like old friends, and the story line will pull the reader in as two people seem ready to make a commitment to each other but everything else is stacking up against them to keep it from happening! This book is fantastic and you won’t want to miss it!
Wow I'm always amazed that Deanna Chase can write a book better than the last one and I loved the last one just as much! Muse of the Witch was absolutely amazing! I loved it. I'm going to say it again and again "I WANT to live in Keating Hollow!" Each one of Deanna's book pull you in until you realize you finished it. Her writing is fluid, the story just flows and you makes you want to keep reading. I'm so sad when one of her books ends... That is what happened when I finished this book....I didn't want it to end. I wanted to read more of Wanda's and Cameron's story. It was so heartwarming! I am one that doesn't give away a story line and you can read the synopsis to find out what the book is about...I'm here to say GET IT when it comes out. If you like romance and witchy books you will love this series If you haven't read any of the Keating Hollow books I highly recommend them all! You won't regret it one bit This is the ONE series when someone asks me what is my favourite witchy books that I tell them to read... HIGHLY recommend!!
From the very first page, the book sets the stage for hilarity to ensue. There were numerous times throughout the book where I would literally start laughing out loud. Cameron’s mother is especially hilarious and easy to love. It made the story so enjoyable, and downright impossible to put down. I think I crammed the entire book in a 4 hour reading session. Wanda has always been a bit of a mystery, but also so footloose and carefree. It was really great to see her story and how she finally finds love after so many years of remaining single. They experience strife in their relationship through standard mis-or lack of communication which is a bit frustrating, yet it does advance the plot. I was a bit suspicious about Cam Berry and the timing of his arrival, but I’m glad he ended up being a truly good and honorable person. I was worried he had ulterior motives. By the end of the book, a new witch is introduced that we’ll get to focus on for the next book, and I’m excited to see what will happen in her story next.
Finally, we get to read about Wanda who is an exceptional witch and one of the best golf cart drivers in the witch races! I loved this story and the characters.

Cameron Copeland knows what he wants. And what he wants is Wanda Danvers. Add in a troubled teenager to the mix and Cameron has some serious work to do. But just as he’s ready to show Wanda he’s worth the risk, his gets a surprise visit of his own. Is it all too much for both Cameron and Wanda, or will they find a way to finally make a family of their own?
Don't ever think that witchy powers make life easy and problem-free. Wanda found out when Cameron, her friend with benefits, decides to change to lets-get-serious lovers. Before she can even get that her little, teenage, sister shows up needing a place to live.
Too much! Too many decisions. If she pushes him away will she regret and want him back? Will he just walk out of her life? Suddenly he has life changes the size of hers. Can he really be thinking of adding one more major change?
She has great friends who support her in any decision she makes. Determining order of priority is the first on the list. Life isn't all worry and decisions. Throw in some hysterical golf cart races, startling meetings and more livens things up. Another wonderful story from the author. Don't miss it.
Back to Keating Hollow we go! It's time for Wanda's story. Oh jeepers her friends with benefits situation is going to take a sudden turn. And just when things get complicated with Wanda's younger stepsister, Cameron throws in the let's get serious.
Now let's go back to the stepsister situation that is Blake. Showing up on Wanda's doorstep in the midst of teenage angst. Not to mention Cameron is a successful screenwriter who finds himself out of town for work. Wanda is definitely a no strings attached kind of gal. But now she has to handle her demons and people always leaving.
I love being able to see how the characters grow throughout the series and a glimpse into their current lives even though this book is specific to Wanda and Cameron...I voluntarily reviewed Muse of the Witch as an advanced copy from the author.
Yes!! Deanna Chase does it again! Oh how I LOVE Keating Hollow (and her other witchy series....seriously check them out if you haven't already)!!! Finally we get to delve into Wanda's story, and what an interesting one indeed! Would you think anything different for the queen of the souped up golf cart racers? Once more Keating Hollow showcases its magic with friends and family of the heart. Newcomers come with surprises, and the magic behind with the ride to discovery of the heart(s). Scarred hearts might heal, scared hearts might flourish, and family is ever growing. If you've not read any of the others in this series, it's not mandatory but you would definitely gain a better understanding of character relationships and storyline. It's well worth the read!!! Enjoy!!
Wow another spell binding story in the series. This one is book 9 in the series. Deanna writes a story that has strong Characters with backbone . Even though it’s part of a series , it can be read as a stand-alone. Heroine is Wanda . Hero is Cameron. Both Wanda and Cameron has their heart guarded since they both were burned from past people. Wanda sister comes to visit and Wanda is happy to see her . Cameron shows up also in the town . There is an attraction between Wanda and Cameron but the hurt still affects them, 2 steps forward and one step back Will they both let their guards down and let love in .
Gabra Zackman Performance is fantastic. Her voice is strong and smooth in this story and the series
I was ready to return to Keating Hollow! I think at this point I need to move. It is a town with everything I want and need. It was nice to see the gang and learn more about Wanda....and her sister Blake. You can see from the start they have trust issues. There is some great advise for everyone in this book. There is great growth in this book in a lot of people. We watch Cameron also grow up. He has stuff going on that you wonder how he isn't broken down and ready to run. I just love both Wanda and Cameron getting together and watching them come together and find what they need to make their relationship work. The journey they took was a long rocky road.
I'll admit I love this whole series. Somehow I love every book more than than the ones before it. Wanda and Cameron are both people shaped by their pasts. They've both spent their lives avoiding commitments. Then they met each other. And they both still tried to avoid a commitment. Can love conquer all? You'll have to read the book to find out!
As always characters from past books in the series make appearances in Muse of the Witch. All of the characters are well developed, and the plot is flows perfectly. I couldn't wait to get to the end to find out what happened, but once I was at the end I was sad that it was over. At least I have book 10 to look forward to!
Muse of the Witch is the ninth book in the Keating Hollows series. I love the Keating Hollows series and I was happy to be able to return back to their world. In this installment we follow Wanda and her beau, Cameron. Wanda and lover boy were doing fine until Cameron decides he wants to get serious and suddenly Wanda sisters appears at her house. Wowza, what is Wanda to do!! Just like the other books in this series, the golf cart races are a must and they do not disappoint in this book as well as some great drama that leaves you guessing as to what will happen next!
I have to admit, being that this was Wanda's book, I was expecting more golf cart races! Although the one with the younger ladies vs their moms was a hoot! Wanda's story was very much in keeping with the free spirit we have associated with her throughout the series. She has instant chemistry with Cameron. After reading about Cameron's character in book #8, I was really happy to see him get his own story here.I really want a golf cart like Wanda's. Enjoyable read and look forward to the next in the series.
Deanna Chase does not disappoint! I was so excited for Wanda's story and simply devoured it. Wanda is such an independent, strong, fun woman. I felt her struggles, joy and laughter as she tries to find a way to balance her life and learns to let herself love. Cameron is a dream come true. He fights for what he wants, supports Wanda instead of trying to change her, and tries to focus on the present and future rather then the past. Their story warms the heart as they do the best they can to love and support their families and each other. A wonderful story brought to life by Gabra Zackman!
This installment is one of my favorites in the series. Wanda is a friend to so many in the small magical community of Keating Hollow. She and Cameron enjoyed several trysts after getting together after a wedding. The more time he spends in town, he discovers he wants more from Wanda than a casual relationship. She doesn't have a history of successful long term relationships and is frightened. In the meantime, both Wanda and Cameron have significant family issues evolving. I love how even when their relationship is in chaos that they are still supporting each other as friends.
After appearing in many of the Keating Hollow books, Wanda has her own story! An awkward moment at the end of the previous book, meant this one started on a funny note.
Wanda has never seen herself as a relationship person, and neither has Cameron, but when two people come into their lives unexpectedly, they start to rethink what they really want out of life.
This was a sweet story, with the emotions and funny moments we’ve come to expect from a Keating Hollow book.
What an excellent book to add to the series! You have Wanda, the golf cart/ real estate person and you have Cameron, the screen writer. What starts out as just a relationship with no strings turns out to be more. Now also add parents who show up at an unusual moment and things get interesting. But we must add to the mix a few surprises on both Wanda’s side and Cameron’s as well. It is such an interesting story and we know the series continues from the hints and the end of the book. So if you want a really good book to read then I highly recommend this book!
This series is so fun to read. I know Eureka and the area around it well as I grew up a few hours south of it. So every time I read this series I can envision the coast and redwoods. MS. Chase does a fantastic job of describing the area and it makes me long to visit that area and even try to find the fictional town of Keating Hollow. This series is romantic, funny and sweet.
It always makes me happy to return to Keating Hollow. The residents are so quirky and fun and I always find something in each character to relate too. I've always enjoyed Wanda and was so excited to dig deeper into her personal life. This book made me both sad an hopeful. A truly wonderful read with a world I'm dying to live in myself.
Living life with no one to answer to is fine with Wanda. Then comes along Cameron. Both decide on a no strings friendship with benefits but what happens when someone wants more? And then life throws in two surprises. Wonderful series and great characters. Friends, family and love. No cliffhanger and Hea.
This series by Ms. Chase is an easy read with her usual romantic HEA ending. You have the friendly town environment with the good hearted people in which anyone would be happy to settle. You have the long list younger angsty sister whose parents abandoned due to the issues which I will leave up to you to discover. All in all well done and worth the read.
The closeness of everyone in Keating Hollow provides a healing atmosphere for those souls with troubled pasts. An older sister takes in her younger sibling, which forces the elder to evaluate her own life as well. Parental behavior is on display in this tale, the good, the bad & the ugly.
The story never fails to impress me with passion and intrigue when the people of Keating Hollow are involved. This time the town realtor has found herself caring for her little sister after her parents deserted her and a hot screenwriter falls for her. What’s a girl to do?
