Melody Gray is on her way to a fresh start with her son, Roman, to the small town of Armstrong. Some of her happiest childhood memories are of the town her aunt lived in. What she does not expect is the house she has rented, with six months upfront, is nothing like the pictures, it needs more than a cleaning. The sexy fireman next door is added plus.
Lucas is not much of a handyman, but there is no way is going to let his new neighbor manage on her own. The house is barely livable. He never expected to feel like he does so soon for Melody and her son, Roman.
This is a sweet and steamy story, the both seem to be on the same page with how fast things are progressing between them. Add in a little boy with a love for firetrucks, who Lucas has no problem stepping in to be a part of his life.

Sigh, I needed this read. It is sweet and cute and all the insta feels that will have you wrapped up and all cozy like! The connection between Lucas and Melody was evident from the start and I adore how she just allows herself to feel! Then you have Lucas who was smittened right from the start with her and Roman. He is a tiny ball of energy that you cannot help adore! Even when things happen, I love that it isn’t drama or anything else. Just life throwing you a curveball. But how he was there to hold Melody up was just beautiful. This is a fast paced read that will have you all up in your feels!

What a sweet story. I loved this short fast paced story. This book shows love can be found again when you least expect it. I absolutely loved Lucas and Melody, they are perfect together. I love how they both support each other however they can. One of my favorite scenes is when she went to visit him at the fire station.
Poor Melody, new to town, rented a house online that was in terrible shape. Lucky for her, her neighbor Lucas helped her make the place livable. However ,knowing about the quality of the home did make what happened later predictable. However it was not enough to take away from the story and it was not all what I expected.
I truly loved how Lucas helped take care of her son, he was amazing with him. The side characters were fun too, even though we don’t see them much. There is so much I can say about this story, it is amazing you definitely need to read this book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Protected by Fire is a fabulous short story. Hooked from the very first chapter I read it in one sitting.
I loved witnessing the relationship between Lucas and Melody. There is an instant attraction between them that quickly develops into more. I can’t blame Melody either as I found Lucas to be perfect in every way! I loved how thoughtful and caring he is. The scenes they both share with Roman are special too.
This heart-warming story is an easy one to read. I am certain you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I have.

What a story. A single mum trying to make a fresh start and a sexy fireman living next door, what more could you want! This Novella is fast paced and I couldn’t have loved it more. Lucas and Melody are a perfect pair. Overall, a wonderful story and an easy read, with heat spilling from the pages, in more ways than one.

I received an Arc copy of this book and no surprise another great book by Laura. I was hooked from the very start. I loved the way the story did a full circle between Lucas and Melody, started as neighbours then slowly became more and finally realised they knew each other from their younger days. A second chance love story i was not disappointed. Thank you Laura for another brilliant read xx

This is a wonderful novella featuring a fireman, Lucas, a divorced mom, Melanie, and her cute 4 year old son, Roman. When Lucas gets new neighbors he knows instantly his life will never be the same. This can easily be read in a day and you don’t want to miss out on this romance.

From the moment I started this book, I could not put it down! Laura has a wonderful way of making her characters so likeable and relatable, that impossible not to fall in love with them. A must read!

I loved this novella. I read it all in one go. Lucas was so swoon-worthy , the perfect book boyfriend. This book had a little bit of everything i loved it so much. I'll be Keeping my fingers crossed we get to see more of these guys in the future. Who doesn’t love hot firefighters.

What a beautiful heart warming story by Laura Farr!
I haven't read the other stories in this series but this one makes me want to go devour them all! Let's hope they are all this good.
Melody and son Roman have moved to a whole new area after a family breakdown but she could never imagine she would get a new romance alongside her new collapsing house!
Lucas is a firefighter who thinks he has all he wants in his life...until he gets a new neighbour and that all changes!
Fast paced, short story that can't help but melt your heart! Especially the scenes with the fab little Roman involved.

What a fantastic storyline. The connection between Melody and Lucas was great and the added twist towards the end was a great surprise! A lovely Novella. I enjoyed this throughly would highly recommend.

Packing heat
A quick read full of sweet moments and lots of heat. Roman is the cutest, and Lucas is passionate from the get go. Melody was also strong and after her divorce didn't hold back. I loved the simplicity of this story.
