Destroyed

Part 2 didn't deliver for me. Ava was exasperating. Not only with her spiritual and faith failings but with her failure to report Andre's actions which went against the protection order. The challenges she continued to face became somewhat unbelievable and I found myself skipping pages. Sometimes less is more.

"Emotional Triumphs and Redemption: Almost Destroyed 2 Delivers a Powerful Narrative of Justice, Faith, and Love!"

Just finished Almost Destroyed 2 by Lakisha Johnson – a gripping tale where justice triumphs for Andre and his crew. Ava's journey towards finding God and love adds a beautiful layer to this compelling story. Highly recommend!

Ava has survived a host of hurts for a lifetime. Because of an unfulfilled life, she ends up with a narcissist-criminal minded, cheating police boyfriend, Andre. Granted Andre came from bad seeds that actually trained him to use ppl, and he had played his role until Ava. The evilness of this man was just too much. I wanted to inflict harm upon him myself, and he was a fictional character! The writer did a great job of developing the characters and provided the necessary details on them. This book was a work Christian fiction, but the language and actions of these ppl was barely Christian. I really started to abandon the book but I struggle with quitting a book once I start. The main character was given to prayer, but I take issue with coming out of a deep worship experience and listening to secular music and drinking, and smoking. Granted I take issue with these behaviors with or without worship, but it just seem hypocritical to me that these types of activities were ongoing. This was my first time reading the author, and will be my last.

I read both books, 1 and 2. Ava was foolish. The more she hears and knows about her deliverance in her life the more she wants to hold on to the past. She continues to allow Andre to have his way at any time when he violated the protection agreement she could have stopped him, When she found out her best friend was sleeping with him, cancel her out completely, but she liked the self pity parties, she liked woe is me, After a while I did get bored. There was a lot that I skipped over, it got to wordy to mushy, to blah blah blah. When Andre's mother came to her office why not have her husband deal with her, nooo give me more drama. This sequel needs to end here. Ava needs to go on and hold her happy ever after in the real realty world. Please do not let Andre get out of prison and go looking for her. ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH ALREADY.

Confused!!!

I honestly am so confused and frustrated by this story…There was one factor that was extremely disturbing and beyond troubling…Ava constantly cried out to God for reprieve and strength…Yet after such a viciously brutal assault..Charges pressed and an order of protection issued..She never addressed or reported it being violated…She mentioned to Josiah her suspicions of him burning down the house…She spoke of Katrina’s antics..Checked the Pastor and his wife..but never reported Andre for violating..He texted her the morning of the Baptism…Showed up drunk approaching her…Nothing…She called out Jack for his misgivings..If it would have been addressed by virtue of a mere mention to at the least her lawyer..It wouldn’t have been as distracting trying to receive a word…

So Relatable

I’ve read both books in the Almost Destroyed series and I must say they are a phenomenal read! So much of the story is relatable - not the exact experiences but the feelings, thoughts and emotions. I love how the author adds the notation at the beginning about the Word, scriptures and ‘warning’ of cursing. It took me some time to get over why Christian authors would do this but her explanation opened my understanding. The scriptures, prayers, counseling conversations had me in tears and deep thought. It’s definitely worth the read and will minister to you if you allow it. There were times of gasps, laughter, tears, sorrow and ‘knuck if you buck’ moments. Thank you for the great reads, Lakisha!

Very Inspiring!!!!!

Thank you once again Ms Johnson, for this beautiful story. Your books touch me in more ways than one.... I find prayers and songs that I can apply to my own situation or as they relate to me.
Yours books help to build and encourage us to continue this race we are running and not throw in the towel because of the 'obstacles' we encounter.
Ms Lakisha Johnson's books are a must read, her novels come alive they work towards building the broken-hearted and encourage one to trust in the Lord.
Glad Ava got her HEA despite all she went through. Katrina, Dre and his momma all got what they had sown. Levar and the rest of the crew... more love and blessings.
Thank you for always.

"Almost Destroyed 2" by Lakisha Johnson

My Assessment:

'Almost Destroyed 2' was one read that all is left to say is our God took care of Ava. Through all of the 'storms, trials, and tribulations,' God was with her every step of the way. It was hard to read how Andre and that so-called friend had been treating Ava and to find out someone else was in on much of what had gone down with Ava. But I loved how she held on to God with her many prayers, scriptures, and friends; finally, all questions were answered in the end. So be ready for an emotional read that lets one know God is with you to the end if you trust him and obey his will.

Alright now

Ahhh I so identify with Ava in so many ways. Its like this book poked and pulled me until I downloaded it , I'm oh so glad I did. This book had help bring me back to my father, GOD. I've not taken action but that is coming. There so many scriptures that I have highlighted, (so I could go back and study), that moved me. I'm in a situation of all situations right now and I'm in a women's shelter as well as fighting for my children. I've been meaning to put up a prayer corner in my area, I have everything to do so, I just haven't acted. This book has pushed me to trust in my lord and savior. I could write a book but I won't , these books touched my soul . Pray for me as I Will pray for you. Thank You on so many levels

I loved this series

Whew!!!! I absolutely loved this series. I kept stopping trying to prolong the ending lol. But God wouldn't let me stop. This book hit home so much with me. Me and Ava are one in the same. I unfortunately keep meeting men that only want to use me. And I simply don't believe that mess that I only attract certain types of men. I will say that you did help me begin to renew my relationship with God. And I absolutely love all your books and refer them to family, friends, co-workers.
Keep spreading the word of God thru your books.

I hand pick whose book I will read. I do my research and I have not picked wrong. You are another favorite author of mine. Keep these great books coming.

This is an excellent read for any woman or man who is going through any type of abuse such as mentally, physically and emotionally.

Wow this book was inspirational. I just couldn't put it down . The prayers , counselling, the sermon have me in tears and giving a praise shout. Which remind me that they that wait upon the Lord Will renew their strength. Ava faces abuse physically, emotionally and mentally but she overcome it all with the prayers of friends she met along the way. Friends this book 1 & 2 will have you wanting more . Love it. Lakisha you did it again . Blessing.

Healing

This book was a page-turner for sure —and the first book too. I love the God messages and it gave me a lot of hope to pray for my enemies which is mostly family.

I recommend reading book 1 and then book 2. You won’t be able to put it down. I love this author and can’t wait to read more books from Lakisha Johnson.

I am not destroyed as my enemies will destroy themselves.

God bless!

Yessss...Lord!

Ms. Johnson, you touched every emotion I have. I laughed, cried and at some times in the story I couldn't even breathe. I'm an intercessor and found myself praying throughout this saga for people going through the abuses you highlighted in this story. I pray that some of the words and examples used in this story come back to my remembrance when the be warrants. Continue to let the Lord used you for His glory.

Almost doesn't count

Ava got on my nerves sometimes with all of the whining and what ifs. I mean hard past or not at some point you have to let it go. The relationship with Briley and Bailey is both admirable and helpful for all parties involved. Leave deserved an award for being so loving and patient. Great wrap up. The loss of the star was due to us not getting the intimate details that specifically led to Katrina's ultimate demise.

Amazing

This series was amazing to say the least. WOW! Ava endured so much. GOD showed up & showed out but I totally understand why she felt like she did when she was going through it. It seems like once she got over one hurdle here comes another one... I loved the people who loved her. Andre... Katrina & Marble... All I can say is WOW... They were something else... Katrina bless her heart... She had to be mental... Had to B... Thank God for this outcome.
Beautiful!!

Ava did too much whining to me..she cried too much I like a Christian book from time to time but I had to fast forward from Ava cause was gettin on my nerves. I don’t usually leave a review comment but whew she worked my nerves in this book…I almost stop reading until u added the little spin with Katrina…Ava was so darn redundant that I was like come on.. get on with the book already..word of advise I am adamant reader don’t be so redundant the next time

Thank you

Thank you for sharing this beautiful series. I love the way you help people dealing with everything that's going on in people's lives. I really needed this book, the prayers, and the scriptures. I'm so happy for Ava and Levar. The family circle was everything, and I'm proud of them. So sad what happened to Katrina, but she bought that on herself. Thanks for a great book.

Ministering!

This book met me where I was. The gift God gave the author to use His truth and His Word, showing where and what the Scriptures mean (...line by line, precept by precept), as well as practical explanations, makes both books mighty additional weapons for the Believer's journey. I pray others were helped as I was. Seek the Lord on this journey called life...He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world!

She's done it again!

This was an outstanding finale. There is no doubt in my mind that someone will be healed by this story. I loved all the characters, from crazy Katrina to Andre and his growth, to the love that Lavar showed, to Ava and her fight for freedom. I cannot wait for the next read.

This was an awesome read! Yes indeedy! We all have lessons to learn upon life's path. Never give up even when all seems redundant. There will always be someone or thing which stands out to make you aware of Gods grace and wisdom. Great Series

I was beginning to think that Ava was never going to find happiness. God will make your enemies you're foot stool. Did Andre, his Mom, and Felicia get what they deserved? I think they should have endured a slow and painful life! 😊I loved both books. Keep them coming Lakisha!!!

OMGOODNESS what a great part 2. I appreciate that Ms Johnson did not spend half if the book rewriting the story in part 1 as so many sequels do. The plot twists were very unexpected. My only complaint is after finishing book I dove right into book 2 and could not put it down until 4 am... but the prayers, and strength of Ava were so worth. I would definitely recommend the w book series to others.
