Temp jobs can be murder!

After losing her dream job as an interior designer, Scarlett Chase is stuck working temp jobs while she tries to figure out her next career move. This week, her undemanding job is handing out food samples in a giant wholesale store. At least her love life seems to be heading in the right direction.

But then—right there in the aisles—bodies start to drop, and it looks like Scarlett’s new boyfriend might be the next target.

Who knew a store where shoppers can pick up king-sized tubs of mayonnaise, mega packs of toilet paper, and gargantuan muffins could be so dangerous?

Can Scarlett uncover the clues and stop the murderer before her boyfriend becomes the next victim?

Murder—unlike her job—isn’t temporary.

I'm really enjoying reading about Scarlett and the temp jobs she's held so far. Gotta say, she did a much better job being food sample worker than she did as a dental office temp (bet she'll never quit beating herself up for missing that delivery!). As before, there was a murder then an attempted murder, but good old Scarlett had Det. Stringer on speed dial from last time. He's a good guy and really didn't act condescending with her since they'd worked together--and he knew her dad.

Scarlett's dad's story's getting even more interesting as she was helping him track down the case he was working on before his accident (that probably wasn't really an accident). I love that he's getting better and at least able to communicate with twitching his fingers.

This was one long and tense showdown, but Scarlett did her best and got the upper hand. What a crazy turn of events! It'll be interesting to see what temp job she gets in the next book! Can't wait to borrow it on KU!

Great book!

Great book! I can't wait to get started on the third book. I am really starting to like this series. It is so intriguing and fresh. I haven't read this combination of cozy. The characters are great. Austin better have a good excuse for not contacting her. The scenes were wonderfully crafted.

I am just loving this series and I am so glad I discovered this author. This is book two in the series and it is just as entertaining and original as the first. As each temp job is in a different location and even profession, it works well as a standalone because you get introduced to a different set of characters each but then you would miss out on a good mystery. Also although the main story gets solved there is a side story and with each book you learn a little bit more about what caused her dad's purposes accident. I really like the characters, especially Scarlett who despite having gone through a lot is still considerate of others wants, needs and feelings. The mystery was original, well thought out and surprising. Just a fun humours cozy with lots of mystery. I for one can't wait for the next book and hope the author has lot of plot ideas, so the series can continue for a long time.
After her last temp job didn't go so well, well she was busy investigating a murder, Scarlett is being given the jobs nobody else wants. Handing out food samples to customers isn't exactly her dream job, the only bright side is at least the guy she is dating can stop by before heading to a meeting. Then an accident occurs and his business partner is killed in the store. A tragic accident right? Even if the man wasn't liked and had his enemies? Scarlett doesn't think so. Then another on of her boyfriends partners is attacked and this time there is no doubt it wasn't an accident. Fearing her boyfriend could be the next target, Scarlett start to look at her co workers differently. Could one of them be responsible? Can she find the killer before she runs out of sample food?
I liked the narrator. She did a good job of bringing not only the story but also the characters to life.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am loving this series. Scarlett is funny and personable and curious—which gets her into trouble sometimes. I love the temp job twist to this cozy series—it's a great way to introduce new characters and settings. This time Scarlett is handing out samples at a big box store and has made new friends with secrets. When someone is murdered, her crush from her previous dream job is a suspect. Of course Scarlett has to find out the truth. There are some real twists here.

We also get another clue or two about her dad's accident and it's shaping up into a real doozy of a mystery.

I recommend this series to cozy mystery readers, 12+. No language, no sex, no gory details. I give it 4 1/2 stars.

Audiobook review.

Another delightfully captivating adventure for Scarlett. The plot is refreshing and original and the story is very well written and extremely enjoyable. The narrator, Amber Battaglia, makes you feel you are right there, which enhances the listening experience even more.
Highly recommended!

Attacked in the Aisles is the 2nd book in The Temp Jobs Cozy Mysteries and it is great! The characters are likable and the mystery kept me guessing. Scarlett lost her dream job in Interior Design and is working various temp jobs to make ends meet. She lives in the basement apartment at her parents. In Attacked in the Aisles, Scarlett is working at a big food warehouse store handing out samples. She is dating Derrick whom she met when she worked at the Interior Design company although she still thinks about Austin from the last temp job.
Derrick stops at the store to say hi and for a meeting with Scarlett's Manager Julia. Someone gets killed in the store and Scarlett ends up in the middle of it all! She thinks Derrick is in danger. This book has a good pace and the mystery was interesting. On top of this mystery, Scarlett is helping her Dad figure out who caused his accident. There is a lot going on which keeps the book interesting! I requested and received the audiobook for an honest review. It is narrated by Amber Battaglia who does a great job with the various voices and brings the characters to life. Very enjoyable book and series and I can't wait for the next book to see what fiasco Scarlett ends up in!.#AttackedInTheAisles #TheTempJobsCozyMysteries

NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL COZY.

This is a Cozy because it’s short, but not trite. It’s atypical because it’s not a ditzy female running off half-cocked into silly or dangerous situations, yet it’s not necessarily that interesting either!

The plots are innovative, but the police presence is incidental (no head butting here), but yet, I’m not overly engrossed with the story…

My main interest in this series, is the ongoing subplot with her father - far more intriguing and what’s keeping me engaged with this series.

Scarlett lands a temp job passing out samples at a big box store.
She’s loving the customer interaction as well as getting to know the employees.
A loud mouth guy on his cellphone is hated by many and ends up dead under some very heavy boxes.
Many have reason to want revenge.
Scarlett embroils herself into solving this case with the good detective on her side.
Daniel is trying to redeem himself with his sister Scar and helps out in this mystery.

Does pretty much everything you'd expect from a cozy mystery. A likeable main character, a cast of suspects and a mystery to solve. A series that's well worth a read if cozy is your thing
