(actually I love the website: jessica in the kitchen)

Again, no mention of TVP - an economical substitute for ground beef (or other meats) that is so easy to use. Too many recipes that use specialty ingredients not found in ordinary supermarkets* and also 'fake' substitutes. If you want a vegan hamburger, you can find them ready made in the store or choose from dozens of recipes online. I use paper cookbooks to find brand new inspirations, templates, and recipes (as I did in Supermarket Vegan.

But I did find a few ideas:

The baked oatmeal recipe looks easy, with only ordinary pantry ingredients. I'm keeping it, probably going to try it tomorrow morning.

The suggestion to make a chickpea sandwich spread w/ egg salad ingredients looks delicious and naturally healthful.

The black-eyed pea salad with greens, peaches, and pecans looks good but I don't imagine I'll make the opportunity for it.

Beets cook in microwave if they're in small cubes, a little water, a tight cover.

Next time I'm in a restaurant that serves curry I'm going to try the Panang Curry.

*Does your supermarket have a salad bar!? My family lives in five different parts of the country and we've never heard of one.

Great recipes with photos. Paper is high quality.

Each recipe begins with why the recipe works. Instructions and steps are clear. Plenty of charts are included too>

This book would be a very good book to have for vegan cooking.

“Vegan Cooking for Two” includes over 200 recipes. It is filled with full-color images and tons of inspiration.
The cookbook offers recipes for a smaller household. I love how it gives suggestions on customizing each recipe to our taste. Each page contains a recipe, kitchen improv, a level-up tip, and a beautiful photograph of the dish. I also love how the recipes are practical by taking into account portion size, cooking methods, and equipment.
The recipes are flexible and meant to fit into our busy life.

Don’t worry if you don’t have particular ingredients on hand. You can substitute it! Add some extra ingredients to change the flavor and texture and to add an unexpected twist. Do you need a more fulfilling meal? Test Kitchen has you covered. Add vegan protein or cooked grain. Don’t forget you can mix and match the recipes.

This book has tons of helpful and practical tips.
It also includes a guide to a vegan pantry, like what grains to always keep on hand or which vegan protein is a staple in every vegan kitchen.
I like the future of vegan brand products and the explanation of why this particular item works in recipes.

It is a different cookbook from what I usually see on the market. I like all the tips, suggestions, substitute ideas. I really like the overall format of it.
From breakfast recipes to soups, sandwiches, salads, and pasta, you will find inspiration for every mood and occasion.

I made the Weeknight Meaty Chili, and even though I think I put too much vegan meat, I enjoyed the meal. It is easy and quick to make.
A must-have on your bookshelf.

I have received an early copy from the publisher. Thank you.

Easy to follow recipes that are flavorful and filling. Some (eg vindaloo, enchiladas) tended to be a bit dry, but still keepers.

More than a few good recipes I might actually make. Love the definitions of ingredients that I’ve heard of but never really knew what they were!

At first glance, this book appeared to be full of easy plant-based swaps — but it instead offers creative options for the same-old-thing-only-vegan.

I didn't really enjoy the recipes themselves but as per usual with the Test Kitchen books, what I love is all the other information they provide.

The charts and tips in here are great and maybe worth buying it for. Much more fake meat and cheese than I like though.
