Now a romance author in her own right, Megan pens sexy contemporary novels all about family and hot lovin’ with the boy next door. She’s also a master procrastinator–with knitting and yarn shopping as her primary form of procraftination!

Something Borrowed is the second book in the Lone Star Match series, and I believe it is safe to say I enjoyed it even more than I enjoyed Something Old. It was a great second book in the series, and I cannot wait to see what Something New gives us.
Although Something Borrowed is an different love story to Something Old, I believe it is best to read book one before diving into this one. You’re given more than enough to understand the overall story, yet some of the information is more detailed in Something Old. I do not doubt that this would make a wonderful standalone novel, but for the best experience I certainly recommend reading the series in order.
Something Borrowed is a very different kind of love story to Something Old. Something Old gave us a second chance romance, whereas Something Borrowed is the development of friends-with-benefits into something more. Both are beautiful stories, yet they offer completely different elements.
Whilst Something Old took a bit of getting into, I was sucked into Something Borrowed instantly. This links back with my belief that you should read the series in order – you’re already aware of the characters and the history, you know what to expect from people, and you can dive straight into the romantic drama. Occurring alongside Something Old, we get to view a different set of events, the series working to complete a whole picture of what happened between every couple during the week of this series.
It’s more than just a romantic story, though. There are multiple elements throughout this book, deeper aspects tied in with the drama of the story. There is always something going on in this story, always something pulling you forward, making this book difficult to put down. There are times where the drama is pulling you forwards, and there are times where the deeper connection you experience with the characters is pulling you forward. No matter what, you’ll be pulled into this story.
I was excited to continue this series after reading Something Old, and that excitement has only intensified with this second book. It was a wonderfully addictive read, a book that was extremely difficult to put down, and I cannot wait to see what plays out in Something New.
There is not ONE decent, kind, thoughtful, caring woman in this book. Caroline is a bully, Brigid is selfish, Anna and Delaney want their heads banging together and told to shut up or get out.
As for the men?
Matthew is trying to force his brother to meet their mother when its pretty clear that Grady wants nothing to do with a mother who walked out on his 20 years ago. The lawyers are all a bunch of stereotypical misogynistic old farts who are thoroughly unlikeable. Its the usual trope and its boring.
WHY do people act like this? Why dis Caroline think it was clever/amusing/appropriate to force Brigid to climb a rock wall KNOWING she was terrified of heights?
WHY are Anna and Delaney even there if they can't behave at least like children instead of spoilt brats and ruining the whole thing for everyone else?
WHY am I wasting my reading time on people who are, quite frankly, horrible?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder didn't completely knock my socks off, but it's engaging and I am always excited to read a new romance.
This is the love story between Brigid Anderson, a dedicated attorney working her butt off in order to make partner, and Grady Coughlin, a general contractor that successfully expanded his business to include his passion for historic preservation. Brigid and Grady have known each other for years and are in a "sex only" relationship. Brigid's best friend Caroline, and Grady's brother Matthew, are getting married. Naturally, Brigid and Grady are in the wedding party, however, Caroline has big plans for all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, who have been friends since college.
Brigid is a workaholic and has no social life. She is under tremendous pressure to succeed, and a result, she is developing an ulcer. Instead of enjoying the very silly pre-wedding activities, she is either working or worried about work. Grady, along with the others, are in her face about her lack of work/life balance, which is also contributing to her already high stress level. However, Brigid is finally beginning to realize that she and Grady could be so much more, and that she is more than her job.
I enjoyed this book, however, conquering one's fears through bridal party games was a little severe. I found Brigid's constant insecurities about her job and a romantic relationship with Grady, to be draining. Lastly, the group dynamic was unfriendly. On the positive side, Brigid and Grady's sexy times were hot.

Brigid can be considerate, "...we’re both adults and the bed is big enough. Besides you don’t have anything I haven’t seen or touched before.” He stood, wearing only his boxers, his erection tenting the material in front of him..." Brigid sometimes has to clarify things to Grady, “I said I didn’t pack any sexy nighties. I never said anything about bras or matching panties.” I really liked this book, Grady had so much patience when it came to Brigid.
With The Lone Star Match Series, Ms. Ryder continues to flex her creative muscle with affectionate stories of realism that prove to be less dramatic but still all heart. Something Borrowed delivers some sweet advice as it delights and excites. With engaging situations, appealing bursts of humor and fetching characters, Ms. Ryder shows that she is quite adept at stealing the show.
Wow what an emotional ride. Brigid and Grady both have a lot of baggage to work through. What started as friends with benefits so long ago may be more. I loved seeing the week from another couples' perspective. A great addition to the series. Full of history, family, pressure, self realization, passion, and love. Can't wait for book three!
Brigid Anderson is determined to achieve her goal of making partner and nothing is going to stand in her way. Sacrificing her friends with benefits deal with Grady Coughlin is for the best, but while she's on vacation and staying with him and a group of friends for the week, Brigid finds herself again succumbing to the intense chemistry they have. With lots of decisions to make about her future, will Brigid do what's best for her and Grady, so they can have a shot at happy ever after; or will she continue on the path she's on now and find herself all alone?
Any story that Ms. Ryder pens has always grabbed my undivided attention and this story was no different, as Grady does his best to show Brigid there's more to life than work. Really, this story was enthralling, fast-paced and one I could not get enough of, because of the main characters and their friendships with the secondary characters. Friendships that had fizzled until this time together, as things happened to cause everyone to go their separate ways, but now they have a chance to reunite and solidify the tight bonds that they used to have. Especially since the bride is determined to see her bridesmaids as happy as she is.
The dialogue was compelling and had me glued to every moment Brigid and Grady conversed, because the hero was determined to prove to the heroine that they're good together and that they shouldn't allow the fact that their opposites and he doesn't fit into her world to ruin their chance at happy ever after. I also liked the interactions the main characters had with the secondary characters, as Brigid wasn't afraid to give advice but not so willing to take it, because she had her mind set on her future. Will she realize that love, family and happiness are more important than work before she loses the most important person in her life? What will she do to prove to Grady that she wants a relationship between them to work?
As for the main characters, the hero charmed me from start to finish, because he had it tough growing up with what his mom did to him, but he's gone on to accomplish so much in his life. I also liked that he had such a good relationship with his brother, considering what their mom did. How could a mother be so cruel to abandon a child? I also liked how kind and caring the hero was and all he was doing for the couple who were getting married. Yet, what I liked most about the hero is that he didn't give up on winning Brigid over until the moment where he believed all hope was lost. The moment where she did something he thought she wouldn't do after everything they talked about.
While the heroine, she's always felt like the inadequate sibling of the family, which is why she pushes so hard to be successful and achieve her goals at the expense of putting aside everything that could make her happy. Certainly, I could understand why she worked herself to the bone, but at the same time, if she wasn't enjoying what she did then why do it just because of the pressure her parents put on her to be as successful as her brother and sister. Yet, what I liked most about the heroine is the decisions she made for her future. She had me smiling, because it was palpable that she would be a lot happier in the long run.
Overall, Ms. Ryder has penned another exceptional read for this series where the chemistry was intense, the romance hot and which made me think Brigid was a lucky woman to have the attention of Grady, because no one would treat her better or support her as much as he does. The way this story ended had me cheering for the heroine to make things right, as she has a lot of making up to do not just with Grady, but with the secondary characters. However, I liked how she won Grady back, because it shows she was willing to do whatever it takes, even if it meant she might make a fool of herself. I would recommend Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Shelli Stevens, Marin Thomas, Kate Hardy or Eve Gaddy.
Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder is the story of the relationship between lawyer Brigid & subcontractor Grady. Grady's parents were divorced when he was younger. His mother wanted a better life than a blue collared, worry about money one. She found someone that could give her that life, packed up her older son Matthew & left. Grady has felt an intense anger towards her ever since. Now he's in love with Brigid & his baggage is telling him he's in another relationship where he isn't good enough .
Brigid is from a very demanding family. Her father was a lawyer that worked long hours & placed value on hard work & putting the job before anything. Her older brother raced through medical school & cant do anything wrong. Her younger sister is beautiful & is in great demand as an interior decorator. She's also married & has two perfect children. Brigid always felt like the "normal" one in the family instead of being gifted like they are. Her father had great expectations of her & that includes not letting her private life interfere with her business life. How dare Grady tell her to change!
Megan Ryder has given us a group of friends with such diversity that everyone will identify with at least one character. They are reconnecting after a 5 year absence & the interactions are perfectly balanced with emotions. The arguments between Grady & Brigid are so intense& sexually charged it feels like you are right in the room. I loved the fact that Ms. Ryder took the unexpected position of having Brigid be the one totally absorbed in her career to the exclusion of everything else. Grady was very compelling as the sexy man trying to get her attention. This is a great addition to the series & I can't wait for Book 3!
I enjoyed this book, made realized my own prioritiest. Many times most specially when you're young, full of dreams and ambitions, you really loose sight of what matters most. Thank you for this book!
One week where college roommates, old friends and family will reunite. The week leading up to Caroline and Matthew’s wedding was supposed to be a celebration, a vacation, a bit of time to reconnect, rebuild the friendships and relationships that time had damaged. It was meant to be a healing time, but as we all know sometimes in order to heal you have to clean out the wound – and that can be extremely painful.
Grady and Brigid are the main couple in this story of lives and loves changed over time. Something Borrowed is such an emotional story. One that I believe many of us can, on some level, relate to. Grady and Brigid were not quite a couple and more than simply friends with benefits. Their friendship started long ago when Brigid was in college and Grady, as Matthew’s brother, were tossed in the mix of friends, couples and roommates. They both worked in Houston, Brigid as a lawyer quickly moving up the promotional ladder on her way to partner, Grady as a self made business man restoring historical building, owning his own construction business which was a family business but now was his since his father’s illness. They fit together, but they didn’t. They could exist in each other’s worlds, but not for long. They had everything going for them – and everything against them. It all was truly a matter of perspective. And Brigid’s perspective was totally wrapped up in her work, while Grady’s was wrapped up in a future they could have… if only. Grady wants more, yet he has to show Brigid that she could have that “more” if she truly wanted it.
It’s difficult to stay emotionally separate with this couple. It’s entirely too easy to see both sides, but hope for them to work their way together where it’s obvious they belong. I completely enjoyed my time with this couple and their friends. You’ll will get angry, frustrated and perhaps become a bit misty eyed as Brigid and Grady work their way to each other. It won’t be easy, but it will be so worth the journey.
I’d recommend Something Borrowed, and this series to any Romance reader who enjoys a good love story, characters who are completely believable, a life situation that can be related to as well as keeping up with the secondary characters who appear in all the stories.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder Brigid Anderson is a second year lawyer on a fast track to making partner. With the weight of her siblings’ success on her shoulders, Brigid feels like she needs to prove something–to herself and to her parents. Her life is running smoothly and all according to plan…until she meets Grady.
Grady Coughlin understands focus and ambition, having taken over his father’s contracting business and building it into a successful historic preservation business on his own. After a blind date with Brigid that ends in explosive passion, they embark on a friends with benefits relationship. But as Grady establishes himself in the business world, he decides he wants more and wants it with Brigid.
On the eve of her best friend’s wedding, with her promotion to partner dangling within reach, Brigid believes Grady isn’t the best partner to suit her career ambition. But Grady and her heart don’t agree and she must decide if she should stick to the safety of the plan or find the courage to pursue what she really wants. this is Brigid Anderson and Grady Coughlin's story. Brigid Anderson stood next to the bar, scanning the room full of lawyers and their partners for her date. As expected, Grady Coughlin had let her down. “Ms. Anderson. Very happy you were able to join us.” Bill Peterman, her boss and partner at the firm, spoke next to her, jarring her train of thought. A warm hand settled on her lower back and a figure leaned over her. “Sorry I’m late, honey.” He pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Did I miss anything?” She let out a relieved breath. “You’re right on time, honey. This is Bill Peterman, my boss, and his wife, Louise. This is Grady Coughlin.” Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder is a 3 star book. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book." So I am going to admit here that I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this book or not when I heard that Brigid and Grady's book was going to be the next book in this series. I was Not a fan of Brigid's in the first book, soooo........... I guess you can understand why I might have been a little weary going into this book.
For me Brigid was a very hard character to like. As I just mentioned above I wasn't a fan of her in the first book and that didn't change much in this book. I found her to be a bit frigid, rude, and well the big B in this book. Look I understand that she wanted to make something of herself, she wanted to get that partner promotion. She wanted to prove to her parents/family that she could make something of herself. But her attitude through out the whole book was a little off putting for me and made me roll my eyes at times. I did warm up a bit to her at the end....
Oh Grady..... Sweet, caring, forgiving Grady...... I did really like Grady. But at times I felt that he was so on the Brigid train that he couldn't realize that he let her get away with way too much dealing with him. I almost felt like a times he was a glutton for punishment.
I did enjoy the story though and liked to watch these two characters grow with each other. Of course I liked seeing the other's in this book also. It was a sweet lighthearted read.
I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!!
***I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest opinion***
A phenomenal second installment of the Lone Star Match series! I enjoyed Ms. Ryder's other works, but she has really hit her stride with this series. This installment focuses on bridesmaid Brigid and best man Grady, and they are a terrific match. As a lawyer on her way to partner, Brigid tends to be all work and no play. Grady owns his own construction business and is certainly a hard worker in his own right, but he has more of a "live in the moment" mentality and really embraces life. The two truly balance each other out, and it is a joy to watch their relationship develop.
Grady really is a fabulous book boyfriend, and it is hard not to love him! His love for Brigid is so evident, and he loves her for who she is. While Brigid sometimes describes her actions as bitchy, I always found myself sympathizing with her. I really understood where she was coming from, especially with her background. Their journey was really emotional overall, and I just loved it!
I do wish there had been an epilogue as I wasn't ready for the story to end! I would have liked to have seen a but more about how some things played out (i.e. the subplot with his mother, and her father's reaction) but overall things felt realistic. I really enjoy the concept of this whole series, and the plot of this book was really engaging and interesting. I adored this story and can't wait for more!

When someone is happy and in love, they tend to think that everyone around them should experience the same wonderful feeling. That's why Brigid's best friend Caroline is determine to play matchmaker with her wedding party. Brigid and Grady are next on Cupid's list.
Brigid is an attorney determined to make partner in order to meet the goals that her father has set out for her. Stuck between two successful siblings, Brigid thinks that as long as she doesn't deviate from her plan, her goals will be met and she will finally be able to make her family proud. Grady is the groom's brother and has been in a friends with benefits arrangement with Brigid for the past two years. But Grady is ready to take the next step and isn't willing to be a bedwarmer if Brigid isn't all in with him. Now they have to spend a week together after ending their arrangement. Grady hopes that this week will show Brigid how amazing they could be together but can Brigid deviate from her plans in order to be with someone who can't further her career?
I loved how perfect Brigid and Grady are for each other. Both have a ton of family issues and while they have dealt with them very differently, it drove home for me how each was the other's home. This book was really light on the drama but there was an abundance of love throughout the story. I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the wedding party!!
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
I was not sure how I was going to like reading about the same week before Matthew and Caroline's wedding but with a different couple. While there was a few references to the previous couple, mostly this book focused on Brigid and Grady so I ended up enjoying this book!
Brigid and Grady had a great chemistry and I loved Grady, and was glad when Brigid finally realized what she needed to do in her life! There were a few times that I felt like shaking her and asking her why she still felt that she had to live up to a standard that her father set for her - she was an adult!
I really hope that there is more about these couples to wrap up a few things that were unresolved - I really wanted to hear Grady's mother explain why she left and never had anything to do with him. She commented that he could have reached out to her but if I was that child left behind, I would not be reaching out as an adult - where was she for his childhood?! I would also love to her what Brigid ends up doing for a job, it sounded like she would have been great at a legal aid company to help others.
I really am looking forward to hearing Anna and Wyatt's story, and will there be a fourth book with Matthew and Caroline? I feel for Caroline with Matthew working long hours - not the life I would want! I am intrigued by this group of friends and their trials on the way to love!
Second in Megan Ryder's Lone Star Match series, Something Borrowed is the story of work-driven lawyer Brigid Anderson and Grady Coughlin. These two have had a friends with benefits relationship for four years, but Grady wants more. The story works well as a stand-alone or as part of the series. This story is on the steamy side, as you might expect from a friends with benefits relationship, though Megan Ryder also does a good job of delving into the impact of a workaholic mindset on health, happiness and relationships. I thought Brigid and Grady were well developed characters and I found it easy to like and relate to both of them. I wasn't quite so taken with some of the sex scenes - they felt a little clinical at times and goodness I wish authors would make an effort to avoid clichés. One that popped up in this story was "balls deep" which makes me cringe every time I see it. There were also times when the writing appeared rushed - a few continuity errors, the odd missing word and spots where extra words appeared in sentences as though the author had started rewriting the sentence and been side-tracked along the way. While I was distracted by these errors, I enjoyed this story and I'm looking forward to book three.
Brigid has always followed the rules, always trying to get to the next junction in life. She has the pressure of her family to be the next biggest better thing and its starting to seem like its never going to be enough but she knows she needs to keep trying to get there at all cost. Grady has the pressure to reconnect with someone in his past and he would rather leave that person there, the way the left him. He's is helping build his dad's business and finally getting to a point he want it all in life. He just now needs to convince Brigid that there is more to there relationship than just sex. Can he get past her defenses or will he just walk away with another broken heart? I really want to like this book. I did I enjoy the storyline and how the value of friendship was so important in this book. I really enjoyed how the author made characters very vulnerable and more real. I did not like how self absorb and snobby all of the characters came across, while I know that was probably what the author was going for it became annoying at how relevant it became in the book. There is strong language through out this book as well as adult scenes which may not be suitable for all readers. Overall I give this book 3.5/5 it was a fun and quick read!
The Lone Star Match Series is turning into quite the seriously fun series. Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder has bridesmaid, Brigid Anderson at a crossroads in her life. I thought her choice was easy but given her family background I guess I could her difficulty. Grady, on the other hand, is hardworking, someone she loves to be with and loves her just as she is. While I am not a big fan of friends-with-benefits stories, I really wanted Brigid to follow her heart straight into Grady’s arms.
It’s a week of wedding activities that provide the basis for the main story of Brigid and Grady’s decisions about their relationship. Family, work priorities, personal goals and past events with all the baggage that comes with it all play a part in their journey. The description sound as if it would be a light, sexy read but it is a much more emotional deep read. Realistic in that I could see a professional woman thinking she must chose career or love instead of finding a way to have both. I whole heartily approved of Brigid final choice. It just made you want to yell, “You go, girl, grab the guy and run!”
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.
An emotional roller coaster of a story that I couldn’t put down.
Brigid's best friend Caroline is getting married. She wants everyone to be happy and in love like she is. So, she plays match maker with her wedding party.
Brigid Anderson is a lawyer who is working hard to become partner at the law firm. She wants to make her parents proud of her. She has been seeing Grady Coughlin in a friends with benefits relationship but with her promotion coming up, she has second thoughts about how her personal life should be. Grady is ready to take their relationship to the next level when Brigid pulls back.
Spending the week together at their friends’ wedding might be just what they need to find their own true happiness.
This is the second book the Lone Star Match series. I liked how both Brigid and Grady didn’t let the baggage of their pasts stand in the way of what they wanted in the personal and professional lives. It is a passionate story that will keep your interest in until the last page.
Solid 4.5 star read! I was so excited to read this book after getting to see what was happening on the surface for Brigid and Grady and in Something borrowed we get to delve into everything. Brigid thinks she and Grady are different however they actually have more in common than she knows ie they are both career driven, care about each other and their friends also Grady knows what Brigid needs even if she doesn't. The week spent together on the island is not only to catch up with everyone while being part of the wedding but for Her and Grady to finally find out what they mean to each so they can move forward in their lives. Even though this is the second book in the series involving the sane week on the island it was not repetitive with the same scenes so it really is its own book. I can't wait for book 3 in this series!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Something Borrowed (Lone Star Match Book 2) by Megan Ryder This is lawyer, Brigid Anderson and contractor, Grady Coughlin's story.
Brigid's main goal is to do anything in order to make partner. Grady's father became ill so he took over his father's contracting business. Grady and Brigid were attracted to each other but neither have time for a relationship. Their friends with benefits agreement has worked for them until now. Grady is tired of this type of relationship and wants more but does Brigid?
This is a sweet and steamy romance but it's not an easy road getting there. I really liked Grady's character. Brigid's character was a little frustrating. In her defense she wants approval from her family at all cost. Will Brigid finally see what will really make her happy and take a chance on true love?
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a great book. It flows the lives of friends the week before a wedding. This book can be read as a standalone, but each of the 3 books follows 3 different couples during the same week. So if you read all 3 books you get a different perspective of the same week. I think this book shows sometimes we are so busy trying to have the life we think we want, that we miss out on seeing the life we really want. Brigid is on the fast track to becoming a partner, what her father has always pushed her to do. And she thinks that is what she wants, until her friends and Grady show her that there is more to life than work. What will she choose? If she chooses Grady, will it be too late? Megan Ryder does an excellent job of making you feel the emotions of her characters. You will feel conflicted and overworked and torn as Brigid tries to decide what she really wants out of life. I can't wait wait to read book 3.
I loved this installment of the A Lone Star Match Romance series. This one sees matchmaker bride Caroline fine tuning her skills with her brother-in-law to be Grady with Brigid. In this case, Brigid and Brady have been friends with benefits for a while but he is ready to make her a lasting part of his life. She loves the relationship as it is and Grady does not seem to fit into her lawyer on the rise life even though he is perfect in so many other ways. You can actually feel the conflict both Grady and Brigid feel in situations that strain their feelings for each other. Brigid feels jealousy where it should not be if she is only a benefit friend. Grady works hard to prove he is the one for her, regardless of her own fears and thoughts. Caroline knows what best for both of them and forces them to face the facts in some very creative ways. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
Brigid is a lawyer on a fast tract to a promotion to partner. Grady is a self made man who re-built his father's construction company from the depths of death.
I felt that Brigid was to self absorbed for my liking. I just couldn't get to where I liked her. She had some great qualities but she seemed more worried about her work and where it would take her instead of her friends and family. As to where Grady was all about his family. He lived life for the moment instead of the future.
The book was a good read with that flowed excellently together. I would have rated it higher if Brigid had won me over. I am sure other people will like her though. I just couldn't get past her exterior. I absolutely adored Grady though! I am going to have to say he was my favorite character in the book.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
The first book was so wonderful, I didn't know if I would like this one or not. Brigid sure had her moments BUT I completely understood her position. She was trying to please everyone (well her father) but her and especially Grady. Oh how I LOVE Grady. I loved him in the first book and his willingness to please. I wasn't sure how he fitted in the group with the first book but this one explained it all.
Ms. Ryder has such a way with words. This group of characters feel like friends to me. I feel like I'm right there in the middle of the action while I was reading. I was sad for the first book to end and doubly sad again. BUT that being said, I can't wait for the third book.
If you love a well written book with true angst, then this series is for you. I know you will love all the characters.
Brigid is an attorney and she is working really hard to please her family and become partner at her law firm. However, in the process she is working 80 plus hours a week, bringing work home, neglecting her friends and not even dating. She is just having casual sex with Grady.
Caroline and Mitch are getting married and Caroline has invited all her friends to the island for a week of activities. She wants no-one working during this week, but Brigid's boss has other ideas. Caroline is trying to show Brigid that she deserves a happy ever after. Grady is Mitch's brother and he has been seeing Brigid on the side when she has time. They broke up after he wanted more than she could offer him.
The story is well written and I love how Caroline throws a little matchmaking in the process. A book you won't want to miss
Another emotional read from Megan Ryder. What do you do when the friends with benefits relationship you are in suddenly makes you want more? This is the question both Brigid and Grady must face while in the company of old friends reuniting for a wedding. Brigid wants her career and feels she cannot have a real relationship, Grady wants the white picket fence and a wife. Their struggles lead them down an emotional path that ends with the realization that the things they thought were the most important were in fact not a priority. This was a great read with fabulous characters and a lovely story. It was great to see the characters interact with each other for this wedding from another perspective. Cannot wait for the next installment.
This is book 2 in the series, but it really happens at the same time as book 1 so can be read as a standalone. Brigid is uptight and very career oriented, which is different from so many books so I love the change. Grady is a contractor and owns his own business. Problem is, he isn't in the plans her dad set for her.
At times Brigid comes across a little unlikeable and I wish we had seem Grady try to move on. I mean, I love seeing Brigid jealous but Grady only had eyes for her and was bound and determined to prove to her that the belonged together.
He was so good about bringing out her fun side, and that was always such a joy to see. It was also great to see all the characters from Something Old again, they are like old friends to me now, so I cherish seeing them all again.
I really enjoyed "Something Borrowed" by Megan Ryder. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, but I would gladly recommend this book and the others in this series to fans of contemporary romance. The series follows a group of friends with each book focusing on each one's story. The unique angle really added to the appeal of these books for me. The previous story lines are woven into each one, so even though you have an idea of what is happening throughout the book, it's from this character's perspective and digs deeper into their back story of what is happening at the specific part of the overall story. Well done! I can't wait to read the next one. Happy Reading...enjoy!
