I gradually fell in love with this. And I fell in love hard.
I don’t know what to say. Other than Black romances just hit me better and deeper and Shae Sanders really told this story so fuckin’ well! It was just beautiful. On every possible level.

Once again, Shae Sanders comes through with the sexiness. The attraction between Savannah and Taurus is authentic and their chemistry and sexual tension was so hot, it was leaping off the pages. I loved watching Taurus go from such a rude and insufferable grouch to a man truly falling in love for the first time. When Savannah enters his world, she shakes things up and has Taurus doing things he’s never done before. I loved watching her growth. Savannah’s transition from a stay at home wife to a working independent divorcee was a smooth one. She had zero problems doing what needed to be done to get her peace back. I applaud Savannah for having the courage to remove herself from her marriage when she realized Maurice was trash. There were no second chances with her. She put her action plan in motion and dipped out like a thief in the night. Savannah and Taurus were exactly what the other needed. He wanted to be taken care of and she was more than happy to do it. It was a joy witnessing the blossoming of love between these characters. The Replacements was such a good book. The storyline was well written, the character development was phenomenal, and the humor and LOL funny.

Updated to 5 stars because I’ve read this 3 times and enjoyed it each time! Lol This will be reread for me because it’s light and fun read! Grumpy boss for the win! Also when I find the right words I want to have a conversation on why it is so looked down upon to be a housewife in the black community. Why do we always have to be strong? Convo for another day!

Taurus & Savannah

I love the development of their relationship…Taurus was grumpy and rude…but meeting Savannah soon changed that….I hated that Maurice got off kind of easy. He made Savannah life hell for a little while….She was so sweet, she didn’t deserve his treatment.

This was my first read my Shae Sanders and if this is how she’s coming, I’ve been missing out. This was recommended by one of my BB’s and it was a home run! This book was so light hearted and funny and pure entertainment!

After 13 years of marriage, and her husband’s sloppy slip up that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, Savannah is planing her exit strategy from her sham of a marriage. Realizing that her rainy day fund that she’s been putting to the side won’t be enough to maintain her lifestyle, she is left with no choice but to……..work🤢🤮🤣

Savannah wanted to be a kept woman HUNTY!! Same sis same 🤧🤧 As a final favor from her soon to be ex husband she asks him to help her find a job. He shies away from his company for obvious reasons and instead puts her in touch with Taurus Jackson. She struts into his office with her head held high and “anemic” resume as he called it and was determined to walk out employed! Taurus was definitely a grumpy man! He didn’t smile, he didn’t compromise, he didn’t apologize, hell the man didn’t even eat lunch 🤣. Well all that changed after Savannah came on the scene. She was determined to whip him into shape by simply being herself. She knew her life’s purpose was to be of service to others and when her caring, nurturing, submissive personality was experienced by Taurus he knew she was what had been missing his entire life!

I enjoyed this story soooooo much! My only let down was not finding out who Mo cheated with! I really wanted his spot to be blown up! I felt like he got away with doing Savannah dirty and even tho she had the last laugh outside of the courtroom that was a missing piece to the story for me! Shae is definitely on my radar now and I look forward to more from her in the future.

Shae Sanders has broadened by imagination when it comes to tropes. Office romances are now at the top of my list and it's all thanks to her. The Replacements is just what the title says, a grumpy romance novel. When Savannah finds out her husband is cheating on her, she decides to put a plan in motion. "And it was there, when I put on my nightgown and, surrounded by all the beautiful things I'd accumulated over the years, that I realized I didn't want to give it all up. I loved the life I'd built. I needed a plan." Initially I thought Savannah's plan was to work and be able to try to halfway provide herself with the lifestyle she was accustomed to living, but I was so wrong. Savannah is looking for a replacement husband, one whose pockets are equally as fat as her soon to be ex-husband's. "'I see. Which department has the most men?' Her eyes widened. 'What do you mean?' I laughed to play it off. I have a single girlfriend who wants to meet a corporate guy. I'm just wondering where most of them are.'"

Savannah hasn't worked a job since graduating college. Even with having her degree in hospitality, Savannah decides to be a housewife. Serving the needs of her husband, Mo. But after going through their finances one day, Savannah stumbles on an error that her husband wasn't expecting her to catch. After realizing that she needs an exit strategy from her marriage, Savannah gets her philandering husband to get her a job. With years absent from the work force, Savannah is aware she can't do it on her own and hopes that Mo's name will hold enough weight to get her hired. When Savannah arrives at Jackson Distributors, she's not sure what to expect, but she wasn't expecting Taurus, her future grumpy boss. "His chiseled jaw, bald head, and designer suit made him appear as if he'd just stepped off the pages of one of those issues of GQ in the waiting room. Handsome didn't quite capture the essence of him. Distinguished, maybe. Commanding. Magnetic.

Taurus is goal driven. His career, the dollars in his bank account and his daughter are the few things in life that make him happy. But when an under qualified Savannah steps foot in his office, his curiosity is piqued. "I thought about her body in that suit stacked up like a plate of pancakes. And her face... round and soft...Pouty lips. Almond-shaped brown eyes. Thick black hair. Full breasts. They looked heavy, too. Just the way I liked." Her willingness to learn has him interested in seeing where things will go. Being the wife of a corporate executive is almost like being an executive assistant right? Taurus is knowingly demanding and doesn't feel bad about it, but Savannah turns out the be a better assistant than he expects. "'Come on, Savannah,' he smirked. 'You ain't cooking up chicken marsala and giving top tier pussy and head because you wanna be the world's best assistant."

Shae Sanders has been one of the best things to happen to me in 2021 and it appears to be rolling over into 2022. The books I've read by her have been witty, entertaining, and nasty. Really, really, really nasty. The Replacements wasn't any different. I was engrossed and invested while reading this story. And while Savannah was looking for a replacement husband, which originally was alarming to say the very least, her character was very relatable and likable. She didn't give gold digger vibes. Taurus was an asshole, but from the moment Savannah laid eyes on him I knew he would be book bae material. This book was a five-star read for me and has me moving Shae's On the Clock series straight to the top of my TBR read pile. Loved it!!

When I tell you this book CONSUMED me you best believe it. Taurus is my kind of grumpy, broody sexy asf boss. He was granite, with a thin sliver of velvet that I enjoyed watching transform the further I read, and the more he was around Savannah. Savannah is my kind of woman. The kind that really loves taking care and nurturing someone, in this case Taurus. He was her boss, but it was just so natural and it was what penetrated the thick walls that Taurus put up.

I just can’t say enough about this story. Savannah had a shitty situation with a cheating spouse, but I’m so glad that she found out at the beginning of the story, and started formulating a plan very quickly. She was so smart and super savvy.

This book is one that I will definitely reread. I savor every word, scene and these two main characters were just everything I’d want in characters. The scenes between these two were super sexy, spicy, full of the right dirty talk I love in a dominant hero. So hard like steel, but so overcome with emotion after being intimate that he turns his head to wipe a tear. TOTAL CATNIP!!! It is my mission to read all of Shae Sanders backlist this year. She is quickly becoming a fave author for sure!!

WOW!!!!!!!! What a sexy, spicy and hilarious laugh out loud page turner!!!!

Taurus Jackson is way past grumpy! He is a "my way or the highway" kind of guy. Probably because, as a very young man, he had to step up and raise his younger brothers. At this point, Taurus does not know how to turn his bossiness off.

And then thick and beautiful, Savannah strides into his world. She needs a job, but has not
worked in 15 years. Why now? Because she just discovered Maurice, her sleazy husband, has been cheating on her. And with someone in his office! So she finds an apartment and never returns to their home again. Wow! Brother Man has the nerve to be angry with Savannah. But Girlfriend "don't play!"

Absolutely loved the part when Maurice thought he could step to Savannah at the divorce hearing. Taurus quickly shut that down and protected his woman. And then it was on!!!!!!!!!!!

When I think of a grumpy/sunshine trope, this is what I want! Add in the office romance and the BDE oozing from the main male character - this book was written perfectly. I truly enjoyed seeing the walls around Taurus come down and Savannah regaining her confidence. And the spice - whew!! I wasn’t ready! This is a story I’ll never forget.

The only thing that upset me about this book is the fact that it sat in my Kindle for two years. Savannah & Taurus’s story was so good and refreshing. Taurus was definitely a little uptight butthole but Savannah made all things right. The exit plan really came through in the best way. 🤎

Taurus Jackson was definitely an a**hole for sure, but my God today what a man, what a man, what a M A N!!! Mr. Jackson came through drippin, I mean what more is there to say!! I absolutely loved Savannah Dayne & the way her character was developed! Savannah was definitely the one for Taurus, their chemistry was unparalleled! Although Savannah went through a rough patch with that trifling husband of hers, she still came out on top and I’m happy about it!!. I loved this story from beginning to end, it was so well written it left me wanting N O T H I N G!! It also owed me nothing!!!!!!!! I need more stories like this one!!

Now this is a romance story. Office setting. Grumpy boss. Beautiful new hire that is not afraid of him. And most importantly on page chemistry. This story had a natural progression that resulted in love. Read this book.

Ahh this satisfied the office romance craving I was having. It's fun and had some great tropes I enjoy such as the grumpy hero and the single dad hero. The sexy times were hot and the chemistry between the couple was palpable all throughout the book. I will be reading more from Shae Sanders!

This one is tough for me. I didn't like something very specific about the book, I didn't love the plot, I didn't really like either main character. But! I couldn't put this down. I was enthralled. It was like watching some kind of documentary on how other people live. I don’t really think that's the right description but that's the best I can come up with right now. So and anyway, if nothing else this was HOT! 🔥

So... Happy reading!

Summary:: After a surprising discovery when checking up on her husbands expense receipts savannah has to act quick in order to successfully go from being a housewife of 15 years to a working women. Despite the odds savannah is calculated in her escape route and says nothing to her husband other than she would like to start working. She uses his connections to land a job, and slowly becomes independent. The only issue is her boss Taurus won't make this an easy task what so ever. Taurus is a blunt, hard headed, and has an extreme case of tunnel vision. With his eye on the prize of making 1 million dollars by his 40th birthday he's determined to not let anyone get in his way. including his new assistant Savannah. Even if her getting in his way is becoming less and less of a worry as the work days go on. . However much of an asshole he is and no matter how many warnings other co workers give Savannah. Through the tension and small gentle gestures, they slowly become a little more than boss and assistant.

I was waiting and waiting for a book to give me the rush of not wanting to put a book down and here we are. Almost every damn hate to love or grumpy sunshine trope book I've read they barely show examples of the "Asshole" being an asshole. But boy did this book deliver lol. At times I wondered if I even liked taurus then realized I did. Both savannah and taurus were flawed characters but so fun to follow. The author really took her time making these characters personable and really make you feel like they were your friends. and you know what my favorite part was THERE WAS NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP. lol they had small conflicts that were handled as time went on but no big blow up argument towards the end. I LOVED the showcase of his brothers and their issues, savannah feeling out of place in this new chapter, the determination of both of them separately, the smut was on 10, the pacing was perfect, and the mixture of the corporate world being in the story just enough was nice. I really enjoyed these characters and I wish there was another damn book lol. Ill settle for a re read.

MR. Jackson if you nasty

Why did I wait so long to read this book? Omfg this was glorious! Where do I start? The writing was on point as always. The story was more than expected as always, Sanders absolutely has a gift for elevating a trope and truly making it her own, and I appreciate that so much. Taurus was alpha-hole turned cinnamon roll for her perfection!! And the concept Savannah represents and the message, was a sermon ok. I was absolutely giddy reading this book! The big girl love was also on point! If you’ve seen this and haven’t given it a try, I promise the hype is real!

This was an unexpected 5 star read for me.
Taurus, you ornery, smug, arrogant, passionate, alpha, BD bastard……you’re alright with me.
I had many moments where I found myself chuckling at Taurus’ words. He was the epitome of crotchety, just rude and mean for what seemed to be no reason. Until you realize he is just a complex, unfulfilled man. Recently divorced and feeling behind at 39. He was just going through the motions until Savannah walked in and set his world aflame.

What I enjoyed most about Savannah was her resolve and her ability to remain soft and nurturing even though she was wronged by her cheating husband. She was the final boss of housewives; supportive, nurturing, and poised. Taurus didn’t know what he was missing until he experienced her.

Such a cute read, man. I typically shy away from cute love stories but this one pulled me right in.

Savannah x Taurus 🥰🥰🥰🥰

***Maybe Spoilers***

Y'all, this story was soooo good. The chemistry between Taurus and Savannah was palpable. Taurus was such an arrogant, overall prick...but it was hot. He was so crass, so short and rude. But that shìt was sexy. But he was soooo gentle with Savannah while still being these things. The way he was so vulnerable with her, the way he wanted to be cared for by her, loved by her, held by her, be in her presence 🥰🥰
I loved me some Savannah. There were some qualities about her that I didn't like. I wished she'd stand up to Taurus a couple of times. I hate that her goal so soon after the divorce was to find a husband. Left mommas house, to your dorm, to a man's house, to briefly on your own, to wanting to go back to another man's roof. It was so quick how she moved on. She didn't mourn the loss of her marriage at all. It just kind of makes me wonder if she ever really loved Mo. But she was quiet; she was a freak...speaking of...those scenes were 🥵🥵 AF. They were nastyyy. I loved it.
This was a really good book. My favorite 2022 read so far. So, I'd definitely recommend this book.

I’ve read this before I started using Goodreads.

This book was pretty good but I didn’t like how her whole goal was to marry a cooperate man but I get wanting to be a housewife after being one for basically your whole adult life.

But the love story was good. I like billionaire romances so I loved this. I like how even before they started officially dating he was trying to lowkey take care of her.

Love to see my sisters being loved right

OK one thing about me, I love a romance that starts with a black woman enforcing her boundaries and moving TF around when she recognizes she’s not being loved the way she’s supposed to be. and don’t sleep on the replacement because he’s gonna know what to do with it😜.

Taurus was grumpy but he was also so sweet, and he really showed genuine care/concern for Savannah from the beginning. It wasn’t nothing for him to make sure she was safe and had everything she needed before they were even deep. & Savannah had the charm on from day one. Overall, I enjoyed it and I recommend you read it.

so good

Taurus is EVERYTHING! He was strong and intelligent, but also empathetic. Ugghh do men like him even truly exist? The only thing I did not care for was how Savannah was portrayed sometimes as the overly dependent woman. I wanted her to be just a bit stronger and have some “grit.” I wanted her to stand on her own feet when necessary but also to submit to her man. The character development was astounding and roped me in from the first chapter. I give this book 4.5 stars

✧˚ ʚɞ˚ ༘✿ ♡ ⋆。˚ A workplace romance between the CEO and his new assistant awaits you in this book!

I've read a few Shae Sanders books and I've adored them. When she came out with this one, I was intrigued but I think I saw Mina and everyone read this back when it first published that made me want to get it. So I did. But I hadn't read it until now which my fault (I'm slow sorry!). AND OHMYGOD IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. I adored it.

Shae Sanders knows how to write adorable, romantic scenes, but also the steamy content? Ooff... insane. Taurus was a naughty, dirty talker that you couldn't stop grinning about. He was DIRTY in bed and you aren't ready to read the scenes, like I'm sure lmao. But you have to! You need to read about grumpy CEO Taurus who has been living a very boring, same-as-always life until he hires a new assistant. Savannah is going through a divorce and her life is kinda messy because of many changes. She's never had a job, so this is a first for her!

Savannah is my one and only. She deserves the world and being taken care of. I love that Shae wrote her the way she wrote her. Savannah knew she loved taking care of a husband, cooking for him, and always been there for him. While Taurus has never known that, his last marriage didn't work out and he starts to see that he never really felt comfortable in wanting to be taken care of. Now, here Savannah comes with her delicious food, post-it notes, helping him out, and so on... and he wonders if this is his chance at a happily ever after.

There are so many cute scenes between them like you can clearly see how much they are perfect for each other ✧˖° I simply loved every moment they interact and was always craving an interaction lmao. Taurus is also a single dad and we see a little bit of that relationship and how his kid interacts with Savannah which is sooo cute and Savannah really makes everyone fall in love with her no doubt. Even Taurus' mother is like yeah this is my new daughter in law in that first meeting. THEY'RE ALL SO IN LOVE WITH HER ♡

When your grumpy CEO gives you his AMEX to go to the nail salon or buy whatever you want???? PLEASE I WANT THAT. Also he stayed with her when it was storming because he knew she is scared of thunders and storms in general <3 he's the best

She's still married the entire 80%of the book and she seemed to have been in love when she discovered her husband's affair.
She litteraly jumps into her boss's pants and only gets a job to find a new man.
The whole book is about how housewifery is the way to live but this man clearly wants a MOTHER he can bang. I mean, at some point, she pre-pasted his toothbrush. I haven't done that for my kids since they were 4 (just saying)

Also, the writing is cringy AF. At some point, I had to check if the author was really a woman, because it reads like a man's work.
For example, MMC compares FMC's boobs to "ripe brown melons waiting to be squeezed" and says her thighs are (I shit you not) "thick and meaty Iike they belong in a KFC bucket". SO SEXY RIGHT?! 🤮
At some point, FMC says that she wants to give him a blowjob and she says that he gets to "pressure wash her tonsils tonight" 🤣
But really, the extensive use of the word "titties" was the worst (again... This is toddler talk and so not sexy)
I finished it just to be able to truly rate it but frankly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

i got to 80% and tapped out. shae sanders is gifted and funny but gotdamn i hated both characters. in 1 corner we got a verbally abusive victim of toxic masculinity who refuses to be a good friend, boss, brother or partner. and in the other corner we got a victim who doesn't learn from her mistakes and has no backbone at 34 effin years old.

i can rock with characters with obviously wrong viewpoints if they show the relationship can work for them, but these 2 need therapy and a hard slap.

“The man was obnoxious. Rude sometimes. Ornery. Stubborn. Kind of an asshole.”

And those are just some of the words that people use to describe Taurus Jackson. Taurus is a CEO with his eyes on the prize. He wants to be a millionaire. Nothing or no one will get his mind off of his goals. Enter Savannah Dayne. Savannah is a housewife who has just discovered her husband’s infidelities and must figure out her next move. Deciding to get a job for the first time in her life, Savannah goes to work as Mr. Jackson’s assistant. But soon, lines become blurred and they find themselves in an office romance where they are forced to confront the feelings they have for one another.

Shae Sanders has done it again. “The Replacements” was a great read from beginning to end. I loved the plot. Taurus and Savannah were both well developed characters. I found Savannah to be very relatable, even though after hearing her original plan, I was like, ‘oh no girl, what are you doing?!’ lol. ‘Grumpy boss’ is the perfect description of Taurus Jackson. I loved that this book gave us both of these character’s perspectives because that allowed me to really get into Taurus’ head. He’s mean, he’s a grump…but there are a few reasons behind his actions.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Shae Sanders novel without a few steamy scenes and this book definitely had those. The chemistry between Taurus and Savannah was through the roof! I loved how this book touches on how housewives are viewed. Savannah took care of her home and she was also well-known at her husband's job at Billingsley Davis Inc. She did so much. Overall, I loved this book. I cannot wait to see what else Shae Sanders has in store for us in 2022!
