About the author

Wilford Daniel (Danny) White is a former quarterback and punter for the Dallas Cowboys and an American football coach in the Arena Football League. He has been the color commentator for Cowboys games on Compass Media Networks' America's Team Radio Network since the 2011 season.
A graduate of Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona, he didn't receive a lot of notice while being the starter at quarterback, because back then he was a better baseball prospect.
Frank Kush, then the football head coach at Arizona State University, helped convinced Bobby Winkles, the school's baseball coach, to sign White to a scholarship with the provision that he would also play punter for the football team. During those early years Kush gave him a chance to improve his skills as a quarterback, which eventually would lead him to become the starter midway through his sophomore season, ending up throwing for 6 touchdowns in a game against the University of New Mexico.
White went on to have a stellar career as a quarterback and punter, compiling a 33-4 record, winning 3 Fiesta Bowls, setting 7 NCAA passing records and being named All-America in 1973, when he lead the nation's second rated total offense. He finished with 6,717 passing yards, 64 touchdowns, 42 interceptions and averaged 41.7 yards per punt.
Besides having his jersey retired, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, the State of Arizona Sports Hall of Fame and the Arizona State University Hall of Fame. In 2000 he was named Arizona Athlete of the Century by the Arizona Republic.

Me la pase bien con este libro; obvio, es Harry Fucking Styles. Aprendí mucha información que no sabía de Harry. Así que no estuvo mal.

Me emocione mucho cuando me encontré este libro en la librería. Lamentablemente sentí que veían a Harry como un objeto comercial: no sentí que me estuvieran contando una historia. Su historia. Si no lo que aquellos dicen de él. Si no como si estuvieran copiando las palabras que ya escribieron los periódicos. No sentí que fuera real. Emocional. Solo algo comercial. Y eso no es Harry. Mucho menos la forma en que hablaron de su vida privada, amorosa. O la forma en que sus discos fueron comentados. Simplemente me esperaba un escritor. No alguien que copio y pego la tarea que otros igual de malos que él escribieron.

also story time,, i went to the bookstore(fav place) the other day bc i needed a gift for a friend and i found this book and had to get it. i went to check out the cashier was like “omg my dad loves harry styles (fav person)” and she had tickets for the show but they weren’t going anymore bc of covid and she told me she’d sell them to me and now i have tickets. dream do come true

Obviously, I had to read this, and obviously, I read it multiple times. I'm not going to write a long review, but if you like harry, 1d, or are a larry then you should read this. Oh, and chapter 9 talking about Larry Stylinson made me scream, but yes read this.

Rettenetesen csalódott vagyok, mert nem érzem, hogy a Harry – Nem hivatalos életrajz egy olyan pluszt adott volna, mely akár a legalapvetőbb elvárásomat is kielégítette volna életrajz/memoár fronton. Sőt mi több, rákeresve a szerzőre olyan érzésem van, hogy futószalagon adja ki a legnagyobb sztárok “nem hivatalos életrajzát”.

Hiába érdekelt Harry Styles személye, az életútja, hiába szerettem volna szeretni ezt a könyvet, sajnos nem jött össze. Néha sajnos én is félrenyúlok, amikor olvasmányt választok. Viszont azt pozitívumként élem meg, hogy zenészekről szóló könyveknél mindig benyomom a “This is…” playlistet, aztán az albumokat, szóval kiderült számomra, hogy egészen kellemes zenét gyárt Harry, a legfelkapottabbakon túl is.

Najgorsza książka, którą przeczytałam (nawet jej nie skończyłam…). Dzieło szatana.

Czytanie jej to była męczarnia. Na prawie każdej stronie autor wywyższał Harry’ego na tle reszty zespołu. Przedstawiał go jako lidera grupy (zamiast pisać One Direction pisał ‚,Harry i spółka’’ czy ,,Harry i przyjaciele’’). Można było odnieść wrażenie, że próbował umniejszyć zasługi pozostałym członkom zespołu. Oprócz tego wydawało mi się, że niektóre rzeczy, o których pisał nie miały kompletnie sensu.

Me gusto pero siento que algunos de los temas que trata sobran, como su vida amorosa o relacionada con ese tema ya que seguimos a Harry por su musica, su estilo, su forma de ser… y no por con quien esta o con quien no.
(Entenderia que se tratase el tema si sus discos se basasen en sus relaciones pero en este caso no lo hace)

Los datos, recopilados de todo tipo de fuentes (vídeos, otras biografías del propio artista y de otros cantantes, artículos de periódicos y revistas, etc.) Aparecen bien referenciados en toda la obra y pueden consultarse en todo momento.

Se trata de una obra que comprende desde el nacimiento del artista hasta la actualidad dedicando cada capítulo a un aspecto muy concreto de Harry Styles y desgranando todas sus dimensiones (vida familiar, carrera artística (cantante, actor, modelo), fortuna, amor, etc.). Como tal está lleno de anécdotas, momentos relevantes en la vida del artista y extractos relevantes de otras fuentes que ayudan a hacerse una visión muy completa.
El orden de los capítulos y el estilo de escritura desenfadado hace que la lectura sea muy sencilla y prácticamente para todos los públicos. Asimismo, es un libro que debe leerse con música casi de forma obligatoria para poder profundizar y entender bien la evolución del artista desde sus orígenes.

La verdad es que he devorado el libro en un día porque era incapaz de desengancharme (¡y eso que apenas conocía al artista!) por lo que recomiendo su lectura a todas las personas, mayores de 15 años, que tengan curiosidad por conocer la vida de un artista tan multifacético como es Harry Styles.

Tell me this book is written by a man, without telling me this book is written by a man.

Not only does he constantly put useless information in this book and bring every other 1D member down for the sake of making Harry seem more like a star (he really did not understand the concept of tpwk), some of the "facts" are just straight up false.

I would love for Harry to write his own biography tho :)

As much as I love reading about Harry, there were a few points made by the author that pulled me out of the book. Inaccurate information, paragraphs about other celebrities thrown in with no direct link to Harry, and in the beginning he seems to dissect and analyse each track on One Direction’s debut album, then rushes through the next four albums. Started off strong, then it feels like the author lost the effort a third of the way through

This book is just disappointing...

I went into this thinking 'I suppose there isn't much it can teach me anyway' but I was pleasantly surprised. Until I started to question the authenticity of some of the things being said. Whilst I am not going to sit here and say Danny White lied, because he didn't, I will say that to anyone who knows anything about Harry, it is obvious that there are glaring mistakes. Incorrect facts. Whole sections of One Direction, and Harry Styles, history just ignored and not mentioned.

There is also the fact that he seemed to take pride in knocking other artists, especially other One Direction band members. Some of the things he said about other artists were just downright mean and unnecessary. I will also add that sometimes it didn't feel like a biography about Harry, especially when he went off on the personal history of Robbie Williams, and Take That. I don't care about that, I am reading a book about Harry, not them!

Finally, the way the book was written and the style of it irritated me to no end. It was very childish, amateur. I get this was an unauthorised biography, but the whole thing was just 'he said, she said'. There was no personality to it. There were so many basic spelling mistakes and formatting issues, it was like it hadn't been edited after it had been written. It just comes across as embarrassing for Danny, the mistakes were so basic.

All in all, I guess you could say this book is a good starting point for wanting to learn about Harry, but I wouldn't trust it completely. It seemed to be written for newer fans, as seasoned fans would've known most of this information, and it seemed to be written for a younger age than me (21), due to the style of it.

So yeah, it's alright if you like that Wikipedia copy-and-paste style but not if you want to read something personal about Harry... WHICH IT SAYS ON THE BLURB!*

Jako wielka fanka 1D od 2013 roku nie wiele dowiedziałam się o życiu Harry’ego, ale uważam że dla osoby wchodzącej w fandom ta książka jest „must have” do przeczytania, oczywiście zaraz po ich oficjalnej biografii. Widać, że jest to nieoficjalna biografia. Podoba mi się to że opisywane też są po krótce zmagania reszty chłopców nie tylko Harry’ego co innym może się nie spodobać w końcu to biografia o Harry’m a nie 1D, ale uważam że nie wspominanie o reszcie było by conajmniej krzywdzące i zostałaby ominięta tak ważna część jego życia. Rozdziały długie, ale takie które nie nudzą i wyczerpują temat. Nie jest to jedna z nieoficjalnych biografii, które szkodzą, raczej ta biografia pomaga zapoznać się z Harry’m

Harry Styles imádatomnak eleget téve kaptam meg ezt a rég áhított kötetet a szüleimtől, de jaaaj…:(
Az csak egy dolog, hogy eleinte még vezettem volna molyon a helyesírási bakikat, elgépeléseket, furcsa mondatfordításokat..de mivel ez minden egyes olvasott oldallal több lett, így hagytam az egészet.
Bár voltak érdekes foszlányok, nem adott semmilyen pluszt, semmilyen hűha érzést…sokszor volt az az érzésem, hogy csak ki kellett tölteni valamivel az üres oldalakat…érdemben, sok esetben, Harryről úgy igazán szó sem esik.
Tudom, ne legyek kritikus, ne legyenek nagy elvárásaim, hisz ahogyan az alcím is mutatja ez egy nem hivatalos életrajz..és mégis..nem tudok elmenni, nem tudom elengedni a rossz olvasmányélményeket
De legalább a könyvben megjelenő képek Harryről adtak egy kis vigaszt :D

Se lee muy rápido y hay información que se puede decir que es bastante fiable pues sale directamente de entrevistas a su madre, hermana y el mismísimo Harry, pero, hay otras cosas que por favor, mejor leer las revistas que salían por allá en 2012 con sus titulares amarillistas porque este libro es casi que un recopilatorio de ellas 😂. Y si, se que es una biografía NO autorizada pero igual, podría haber investigado algo más.

Se disfruta si eres su fan porque siempre es divertido leer algo relacionado con él, pero hasta ahí 🤭 eso es todo 🤷🏻‍♀️
