Hearts collide when a sheriff’s daughter asks a hardened US Marshal to join her fight for justice and rid a small town of her corrupt father.

Wyoming Territory, 1876

US Marshal John “Hawk” Hawking is one of the most respected lawmen in the West, so when a telegram arrives from the small town of Sand Creek warning him of a death threat against him, he immediately begins an investigation.

Posing as a farmer, Hawk heads to Sand Creek, a town ruled by a violent and corrupt sheriff. Only one person is trying to stop him—Liesl, the sheriff’s own daughter. When she meets the self-assured and attractive new farmer, John, she hopes he might help her in the fight for justice.

John is completely unfazed by Sheriff Hodges’s attempts at intimidation, and Liesl is quickly swept up by Hawk’s courage and integrity. Just as quickly, Hawk finds himself falling for Liesl’s strength and bravery, as well as her grace and beauty.

When Liesl discovers John’s true identity, she feels betrayed. Despite her lingering distrust of him, Liesl agrees to work with him to enact a dangerous plan that will put the criminals away forever. Liesl must put her life, and her heart, in the hands of his lawman if she has any hope of saving her family and her town.

This was such a fun read. This being my first read by the author, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely wasn’t disappointed! This book has great story pacing, character arcs, and witty banter and vulnerable moments. Loved this western romance with a touch of suspense!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an eARC of Wyoming Wild. A positive review was not required, only my honest opinion. All thoughts are expressly my own.

Liesl Hodges can’t believe her luck when a good looking, charming, dependable farmer moves into town. Except he’s actually an undercover US Marshal investigating her corrupt sheriff father. Marshal Hawking doesn’t exactly consider it luck to meet brave, compassionate, resourceful, spine of steel Liesl. More of an unavoidable, unwanted distraction. Oh, but he’s a goner.

Initially I started to grumble a bit that I needed more internal conflict because we were going a teensy one-sided insta-lovey for my taste. But, when things are revealed, and Miss Liesl feels taken for a fool, we’re back to square one on Mr. Heart of Stone gaining her trust, and I was a happy camper. The scenario and dynamic changes, and I was very into it. I love a bit of roadtrip awkwardness and even a very competent US Marshal starts bumbling when the captivating star witness will not back down on calling him out. So fun. Loved the peril and mystery, loved the whole build-up to the climax and resolution. Loved the simple, straight-forward romance with its teasing banter and deep compatibility. And yet, I wish we knew more background on our hero John Hawking. I haven’t read the previous books, but our heroine wasn’t there either so, besides his strong, if not grumpy, leadership skills and other current virtuous qualities, she/we know very little of his past and what, besides his career choice pressures, causes his purportedly hardened heart. I wished we had a conversation or three about it, just to draw them even closer amidst the threats of life. But, still, they’re such a strong couple. Loved all the side characters and this town, definitely made me want to read the previous books.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

Content warnings: toxic parent, mention of domestic violence. On page shootout violence.

This is a sweet clean western romance. The language is a little much. Did they really talk like that? "Silly Sidewinders" all over the place. It was a good story. It flowed well. I loved to see these two soften towards each other. The end was a little odd. I am not sure that it all made sense. Spoiler (Why would her father come out in the open like that in a town filled with men trying to arrest him)
So a sweet story. If you like a sweet western this is for you.
No religion. Some western violence shoot outs.

If you aren’t a Western romance fan, this may be the book to convert you! In Wyoming Wild, Sarah Eden creates a suspenseful, mysterious, romantic tale of an iron hearted lawman, and the daughter of a corrupt Sheriff who’s trying to bring him to justice. It’s a fast-paced read with witty dialogue, lots of action, swoon worthy romance, and a compelling cast of characters who’ll tug on your heart strings. It was a joy returning to Savage Wells and I’m hoping we might get even more stories in the future.

John Hawking or Hawk is a tough US Marshall trying to bring law and order to the Wyoming Territory. He doesn’t have time for love and worries about the perils his jobs would bring to a family. When he receives an anonymous telegram that there’s an assassination plot against him, he’s ready to brush it off with all the others, but this one specifically names a corrupt Sheriff behind the plot. He decides to visit the small town of Sand Creek posing undercover as a farmer to investigate. What he doesn’t expect to find is the courageous, beautiful daughter of the Sheriff who’s willing to risk everything to end the corruption.

Liesl Hodge knows what she’ll face if she goes against her father, but she can’t let another innocent person die if she can prevent it. In a daring move, she sneaks off a telegram hoping to warn the Marshall in time. When a handsome farmer comes to town with lots of charm and confidence, she can’t help but fall for him. But, when she learns his secret, she feels betrayed. Trusting Hawk becomes a challenge, but in order to finally rid her town of the corrupt Charming Chaps gang, they must work together.

Loved Hawk & Liesl! They’re the perfect match. Despite having such an abusive father, Liesl is caring and brave. She doesn’t hesitate to put herself in danger for her mother or others. I loved the witty banter between her and Hawk and those swoony moments where forced proximity and a fake relationship put them very close together. As farmer John Hawking, we get to see a softer side of Hawk and it’s easy to understand why Liesl falls for him.

It was so enjoyable seeing characters from previous books and returning to the welcoming town of Savage Wells. The ending had me on pins and needles and I kept hearing “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” theme song as I was reading that final showdown. It’s the perfect ending to a Western romance. The ultimate bad guy was a surprise and I loved that I didn’t see it coming.

This is definitely a must read for Western romance fans and those who’d like to try the genre. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but is more enjoyable if you’ve read the previous books in the series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

Content: abusive parent, some mild violence including a shootout, mentions of murder, clean with mild kissing scenes.

The Savage Wells books have been a favorite of mine from the start. Author Sarah Eden has written so many diverse characters and settings through the years in Regency, Georgian, and Victorian eras. This Western Proper Romance series always delivers just like her other books.

I loved reading Wyoming Wild because I did get to go back to the frontier town of Savage Wells. All of the characters readers have grown to love in the first two books are also in this third book. I was totally thrilled that finally US Marshal John “Hawk” Hawking was getting his own novel and someone to love. I really loved the new character, Liesl Hodges who in every way was Hawking's match. As he goes undercover with his deputy, he never would have imagined finding a woman with so much strength and fire. Liesl has stood up to her corrupt Sherriff father and his cohorts for years. She never imagined that someone like John Hawking would come into her life and accept and love her.

This book has a great plot, a huge supply of bad guys, and enough angst to keep you reading past your bedtime. Of course, there is romance but it doesn't all happen like you think it will. I liked the many twists that kept the book exciting. If you've never read this Western Proper Romance series before, I honestly would start at Book one. You will be glad of this tidbit of advice. You could read Wyoming Wild as a stand-alone but truly give yourself the full experience of the heroic people, amped-up drama, and the clean, sweet romance that can be found in the western town of Savage Wells.

As a huge fan of the first two books in this series, I was so happy to be able to return to Savage Wells and it did not disappoint!

Marshall John Hawking is proud of the fact that he has heart of stone but finds it starts to soften when he meets Liesl, a woman who shows immense courage trying to save her town from her father how is a corrupt sheriff.

Sarah does an amazing job weaving together a story of adventure, mystery, suspense, and romance. The book started off with a bang and the pace just kept right on going and I enjoyed every second of the ride. Loved the plot twists and dang, that climax was absolutely fantastic!

This is a story about finding love in a time of trouble, about learning to trust your heart. Sarah is so masterful at writing stories with endearing characters with lots of heart and this book is such a great example of that.

I was thrilled to have lots of page time with my favorite characters from previous books as well as meet some new memorable side characters. Keeping my fingers crossed we get another book in this series, maybe one for Andrew or Ensio, or even Tansy.

This can be read as a standalone but honestly, why would you not want to pick up the first two? They are absolute must-reads for any fan of historical western romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but a positive review was not required.

This. This book is absolutely fabulous!!! It’s totally nuzzled its way in as one of my favorite books—which is hard to do. I just can’t even explain why it’s so good. Wyoming Wild doesn’t come out until March, and I thought it would take me some time to actually get to it. Nope. Once I started, I was sucked in where I HAD to read it in one go. It was THAT good! Hawk and Liesl were adorable. Her story sure tugged at my heartstrings.

I was completely engrossed in the story till the very end. 😍😍 It was exciting, adventurous, romantic, and such a fun read. I know we have to wait months till it’s out in the world, but it’s worth the wait. Trust me. If you like historical westerns and Sarah M Eden, I really think you’d enjoy this one.

It’s part of a series and I had only read book one myself, Sheriff of Savage Wells, before starting this one. You get enough of a background that you could pick this up by itself and keep up with the story. Still…you could also read all three books because why miss out? I’m planning on reading Healing Hearts (Book 2) asap because of that same reason.

Fabulous!!! I read it in one sitting and didn't want it to end. I loved being back in Savage Wells with the characters that I've come to love. Especially Hawk. He's been working hard to get the territory under control and bring peace. Most everything is fine until he discovers an assassination plot against him. And that leads him to a surprising small town in his territory and brings about suspense, fun, laughs and lots of Western struggles, drama and protection.

This book is a wonderful story of mistaken-identity, enemies to more and much more goodness! I loved the suspense and sort of mystery throughout the story. I thought I had it all figured out but guess what...I didn't! I love how Sarah M. Eden can surprise me and throw out the unknowns. And she keeps me turning those pages quickly cause I just have to know what is going to happen.

And let's talk about the amazing relationship between Hawk and Liesl. These two are so much fun together. They have insecurities and real legit struggles in their lives and pasts. Things that make it hard to trust. Yet I loved how they had to come to learn to trust each other through the different circumstances they faced.

It was great seeing the gang of Savage Wells throughout this whole book. The relationships between all of them and how they include new comers to town and help protect them was a wonderful aspect of the book.

And of course I can't forget mentioning the sweet love story. *Happy sigh* Love these two! One of my favorite aspects of reading is the relationships. I love watching the friendship grow and the chemistry grow as well. The trust and building up of each other and of course the sweet kisses. And Sarah M. Eden sure delivers with this one!

Content: Clean. This book does have very mild moments of peril. Talk of characters who hurt others, but only seeing them bruised/or having some scrapes after the fact. Some gunshots and bleeding. Nothing graphic. The romance is clean and sweet with only a couple sweet kisses.

I received a copy from the publisher, Shadow Mountain Publishing, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I’m going to have an unpopular opinion

I don’t give out many 3 stars, usually I will stop reading a book before then, but I was given an advanced copy of this book and so I wanted to finish it.

It’s a cute story. It is. I just have a lot of small things that have added up to more.

I could probably give it 3.5 stars. I’m still really debating on the exact rating.

Here’s where I felt Sarah did well

I thought this was the most romance I’ve seen in one of Sarah’s books in a while. I went in with lower expectations on the romance line and I was impressed that immediately we saw some flirtatious scenes.

I thought the action was well done. I felt the story start off great and I was drawn into the storyline very quickly.

What I wish was different

Although the romance started off strong for newly acquainted characters, I didn’t feel any progression happen. Instead I just saw them saying they were falling in love. I didn’t feel a connection between our MCs. The emotion wasn’t there. It felt more superficial and for the characters to want to get married at the end, it didn’t feel natural to me. And this is coming from our MMC feeling like he had a cold heart and couldn’t get involved. I needed more for their relationship, considering this is a romance novel first, there was depth missing.

I also struggled with staying invested during the whole book. I’m usually able to get more into a book if I binge it, which I did for this one. I listened to the book within a day and it didn’t help. Once again, normally it helps when I can binge, I get lost in the storyline and characters. I didn’t feel it here.

There were some resolutions at the end that didn’t seem complete. I didn’t have good enough answers/explanations. It was wrapped up pretty quickly.

So I think what I feel is that this story started off strong, but it didn’t deliver. This could all be on me, obviously reviews are very subjective. You could be the person who loves this book. It just wasn’t for me.

Westerns aren’t usually my thing, but I’m so glad I took a chance on this one. Although it’s the third in a series, I didn’t feel lost and it was easy to pick out who the main players were. I was immediately hooked by the mystery and crookedness in the town Sand Creek. I loved Liesl’s strong will and fierce determination to protect her mother and the people of the town. She was the perfect balance to Hawk’s gruff demeanor. Liesl disarmed Hawk so easily and I enjoyed seeing this man with a cold heart thaw out. I do wish there had been a little been more of a build up but the build up of the mystery didn’t disappoint. I love how the town of Savage Wells came together to protect Liesl and her mother in addition to uncovering the secrets of the Charming Chaps.

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy. My thoughts are my own.

There are so many things to love about this book and loved it I did. A big rough-and-tough sheriff. A woman on a mission to save her small Wild West town from her evil father. An assassination plot. All these ingredients made for a delightfully dangerous and romantic tale that I eagerly devoured.

Sarah M. Eden has created the ideal characters for the untamed Wyoming territory. There are strong, capable women and brave, heroic men, as well as a handful of quirky and lovable settlers. I loved them all, but I especially loved John Hawking (Hawk) and Leisl. Hawk is the perfect definition of a cinnamon roll hero and Leisl like the sweet, satisfying frosting. They are the perfect combo and I couldn't wait to get a front row seat for his story.

Although this is Book 3 in the series, it can definitely stand alone. From the moments of peril to the threatening mystery, and let's not forget the blossoming romance, this is a story for all western historical lovers.

Content: mild violence (murder, shoot-outs, non-graphic western-type violence); mild romance

What makes a good book? Intriguing plot that develops. Great characters. Descriptive scenes. Good beginning. Good dialogue. Genre the reader enjoys. So try Wyoming when it was still a territory and the year is 1876. The character is Hawk, a U.S. Marshal, full name — John Hawking. His two deputies are Ensio Cooper & Paisley O’Brien. Paisley!?! Not a man’s name which is good since Paisley is a woman. And her accuracy with a gun is excellent. Now you have the principal good guys.

A good Western needs bad guys. Oh, I forgot good guy Cade O’Brien, a well-known lawman, and Paisley’s husband. Now back to the bad guys. Rod Carlisle and Happ Minor whose wanted posters are accurate in appearance. Rod & Happ were just the gofers.

We need a damsel in distress. Enter Liesl Hodges, age 23. Her father is the sheriff of Sand Creek and you will notice I do NOT have him listed in the good guys. Liesl is a brave young woman. Gutsy. Who needs every bit of fortitude to survive. And make sure her mother is not hurt in the process. Her father and his poker buddies had dirty hands and Liesl knew it. The trick was not to let her father, who was known to be vicious when crossed, or any of the poker players know it.

Wyoming Wild has all the ingredients of a good book. I enjoyed every minute of the read. The plot is robust. It’s not a 30-minute TV western of the 1950s. This would be a great movie. The story could have been a 100-125 page book but then the reader would know what was going to happen before they turned the next page. All I will tell you is this story is a page-turner with some unexpected things thrown in.

This book was to be reviewed in early 2023 and health issues prevented it from even being read until this year. If you like American West historical novels, this is a gotta-read-it for you. Wyoming Wild has romance, but the plot is about bad men passing as town leaders … and sheriffs. Bad guys after money. As much as they can get anyway they can get it. Trust me. You’ll enjoy this great story.

4.5 stars!

‘Hawk stood and slipped his free arm a bit around her waist. “You’ve been dancing with the wrong people, lamb.”’

I love the Savage Wells series, so when Sarah Eden surprised everyone with the news that she was releasing a third book, I was elated. I know fans everywhere joined me in celebrating that Hawk final got his story!

If you’ve read books one and two, you know somethings about Marshal John “Hawk” Hawking. He’s on a mission to stop corruption in the west and it’s rumored he has a heart of stone. When he receives an anonymous telegraph warning of a plot to murder him, he immediately sets off to the town of Sand Creek where the telegram originated from. There he goes undercover as a farmer named John Butler and meets Liesl, the corrupt sheriff’s daughter.

Liesl knows her father is a dangerous man and has made it her mission to protect the town from him. When a new farmer moves to town, Liesl is quick to warn him but can’t help but feel a connection to this strong, dependable man who doesn’t seem scared of her father.

“Of all the people she’d known over the years, he seemed most likely to actually survive life in this soul-shattering place. If only he would be careful.”

This was such a tender story mixed with lots of mystery and suspense! I loved Hawk and Liesl together. They have an instant attraction but when lies are discovered, their relationship hits rock bottom and they really have to start all over again. Liesl is courageous and brave. I loved seeing Hawk’s heart slowly soften for Liesl.

“He reached over and brushed back a strand of hair the wind had blown across her face. Her hitched breath seemed to turn solid in an instant at his touch. She couldn’t have spoken if she tried, and she certainly couldn’t let go.”

The action in this book was great and I loved how suspenseful it was. Some of the dialogue felt like overemphasized “western talk”. I loved how all the characters from the previous books joined the cast. This can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading books one and two first. This was a delightful addition to the Savage Wells series!

This book is a clean romance.

Thank you, Shadow Mountain Publishing and Netgalley, for an eARC of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I've read some of Ms Eden's books in the Victorian and Regency periods. She is becoming one of my favourite authors for clean romance.

Things I liked:
- I loved the characters. Liesl is my kind of heroine. She is strong in the face of adversity and could have just turned the other cheek regarding her father's treatment towards the townspeople. She tried to help them as best as she could. Hawk is also the kind of hero that I liked best. He is gruff but with a soft underbelly. Deep down, he cares about people but develops a tough shell as a coping mechanism.
- The mystery plot is very well done. We only know the traitor in the midst right at the end.

Things I did not quite like:
- This book doesn't work well as a standalone. I'm missing a few things especially regarding Hawk's background because I didn't read the previous books in the series. Hence, the characters don't feel as fleshed out as they could.
- There is a decidedly lack of menacing air among the villains. The villains are known as the 'Charming Chaps'; it downplays their menace.
- I'd prefer my westerns to be grittier and raw. The restrained and subdued writing doesn't really work for me in this setting.

Overall, this was a pleasant read, and Ms Eden fans won't be disappointed with this book.

Wyoming Wild (Proper Romance Western)
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Really enjoyed seeing past characters & how fast-paced this story was. Sarah really packed a lot in such a short page count (256)
All that being sad, this book does have some heavy topics. From the whole series, this definitely is the one with the most TW (all listed below).
Everything is PG13 rating wise.

Overall, it's a great series & this last one is my favorite of the three so far! 📚❤️

Sarah Eden never fails to capture me with her writing and while her regency books will always be my favorites I’ve definitely enjoyed all of her western stories as well! It was so fun to head back to Savage Wells and to see Marshal Hawking finally meet the woman who could break through his tough exterior! I loved seeing his soft side come out and watching him get thrown off balance by Liesl! Liesl was fantastic in her own right, her bravery and courage in going up against her father and her extreme care of everyone around her were deeply admirable and made her the perfect match for Hawk.
Their romance was sweet and just naturally unfolded in such a perfect way that I enjoyed every moment. And the danger involved with bringing down everyone who was a part of the scheming and crimes was just the right amount to keep me interested throughout.
All in all another wonderful book by a fantastic author!

Wyoming Wild was such a fascinating and intriguing story to hear. The plot just had be entranced. I could not imagine being in Liesl’s shoes, knowing how evil her father was and yet still being around him, not that she had a choice. She took so many risks in what she did to defy him, risking her own life for the sake of others. She really was an inspirational character to read about.

Now Hawk on the other hand. He was a hero. You know those men that are just rough and rigid, and claim they don’t need romance in their lives? Those same men find a woman who can totally spin them around, soften their heart, and it just becomes harder for them to keep up their tough exterior lol. Yeah, he was all that and I was there for it. Still am in fact! His protective instincts were just what I wanted them to be, and I loved seeing Liesl break him down without him realizing it. I think I could read this book about a hundred times and not get bored with it.

Eden does an amazing job of pulling into historic Wyoming and all that entails. Her attention to detail is amazing. Her ability to research is evident in the pages on this book – with the big things and the little things. Her secondary characters were as charming and lovable as the main characters. I didn’t want the story to end! And wow can she write a romance. Yep, historical romance fans are surely in for a treat! Readers looking for adventure, danger, passion, romance, and history will love Wyoming Wild!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It was good news when this return to Savage Wells title was released. I really liked the first two years ago and had hoped for another in the series. Hawk has been an intriguing character with his gruff manner and devotion to being single.
Leisl's father may be the local lawman, but he's out for blood and treats all under his purview with hostility. She overhears a plot to assassinate Hawk and risks all to notify him of the danger. Hawk takes the warning as expected and works with his deputies to root out the threat to both himself and Leisl's hometown, Sand Creek.
What I didn't care for:
I was disappointed by how Hawk was portrayed. For being such a hardened and wise Marshall, he seemed to have few answers and said "I didn't think about that" too often. While I like when a female character shows grit and intelligence in a historical fiction, I found it unrealistic that Leisl could intuitively understand things faster than the Marshall and deputies she was surrounded by.
What I liked:
To be perfectly transparent, I've been disappointed with releases from this author lately because they've lacked the romance I've come to expect from her with previous publications. They've focused more on friendship or historical quirks to the time periods, for example. This all to say, I was happy to see that it was more present in this book (although I will never say no to more chemistry or more kisses). Sarah's attention to historical detail and language suiting the atmosphere was exactly as expected and made for nice change of pace with the western setting.
Thank you to Shadow Mountain and Netgalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Her father's the sheriff, but he's bad news - violent and corrupt. Liesl loves her community, despises the injustice, but alone she does all she can do by sounding quiet warnings to those in danger. When she overhears his plot to kill a US Marshal, she risks her life to get a warning out by telegram.

When the famed Marshall Hawking reads the message, he's not surprised at yet another death threat, but at the whispered insinuations of a prisoner that there's a lawman in his jurisdiction on the wrong side of justice. He heads to Liesl's town undercover in order to gather information, but he stumbles on a network of corruption even he didn't imagine possible.

The home she grew up in didn't let her trust men easily. His work didn't allow him to trust his heart. They made mistakes in their friendship along the way and started to learn how to lean on each other. I enjoyed the pace of the story from undercover to trial, and the suspense as the mystery unfolds. Plus, you'll get a good western showdown!

This is the third book in the Savage Wells series. I haven't read the previous two, but that didn't hinder understanding in this one. (Although I'm gonna go back and read the others now!)

#BookRevew: WYOMING WILD by Sarah M. Eden

I don’t usually read the western genre, but I wanted to give this a try since I have enjoyed the author’s other books. I can say that the writing was good. But I wasn’t really invested in the story in the beginning. There were also many characters. I still think that it was still well paced. It got interesting when Hawk arrived in Sandy Creek as an undercover.

I didn’t like the idea of an abusive father and sheriff. However, I am glad that there were helpful and compassionate people, such as Liesl. I liked her strong character. Despite being in danger, Liesl was ready to bring down her corrupt father.

The fake relationship between Hawk and Liesl was challenging and sweet. The story focused more on seeking justice. It was a guessing game on who was the mastermind and the traitor until the end. It was full of action and adventure. The risks Liesl took were scary but worth it. I enjoyed Paisley’s sweet and tough character too. Overall, I am pleased that I read Wyoming Wild. Sarah M. Eden’s fans will enjoy it.

This book hit ALL the right notes. I’ve been a fan of Hawk since The Sheriff of
Savage Wells, and I’ve been angling for his story ever since. Sarah tells a beautiful story with loads of heart. I really loved it! I can’t wait for the hard copy to come out so I can read it again. (Also, could we please get a book for Ensio?!)

Many thanks to Shadow Mountain and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are my own.

The third installment of the Savage Wells series comes out in just one week and it's one you don't want to miss out on. I for one was rooting for a story for Hawk and this did not disappoint.
You'll like this book if you enjoy:
* Western Romances
* Suspense/Intrigue
* Slow burning love
* Beloved characters from the Savage Well's series
I could not put this book down. From cover to cover it kept up the pace of suspense, mystery and growing love. I always wondered what was going to happen so I had to keep reading. Which if you see me in real life, I probably have bags under my eyes from the nights I stayed up reading.
Both Liesl and Hawk needed to learn to trust their hearts and instincts. Which they did, and the character growth throughout this book was what gave them the happy ending. Liesl is one strong woman who stood up to a bully of sorts and tries to save her town that her father runs. She may be one of my top favorite heroines. While Hawk claims to have a heart of stone, his heart had no chance being up against Liesl. I liked seeing this new side of Marshal Hawking. Definitely makes a girl want to swoon.
Some of my thoughts are all over the place. So to not give any spoilers, I will stop here. I just highly recommend this book, and if you get the chance to read it, lets chat. I would love to talk about it without ruining the book for anyone. Even my oldest would, who nabbed my copy before I got the chance.
FYI:
* This book does contain mild violence and an abusive parent. But its still a clean read. No fowl language
* Also while this book is the third of the Savage Wells series, it could be read as a standalone. It just might make you want to read the first two books after. Which is never a bad thing.

“Tender feelings? Ridiculous.
He was Marshal Hawking. The man who’d brought peace to a dangerous territory. The man who’d assembled a team of deputies who were equally feared and respected. The man who’d dedicated his life to saving orders.
He had no tender feelings.
He couldn’t afford them.”

Life in Sand Creek isn’t easy. At all. There is crime and corruption everywhere, and no one knows what to do about it. But when Liesl Hodges overhears a plot to murder Marshal Hawking, she has to do something. When Hawk receives an anonymous telegram warning him of the plot, he sets out to figure out who’s behind it, only to find much more than he had planned on.

I loved this third Savage Wells novel! It was hard for me to put down from the dedication to the end. It might be my favorite of the series so far, although the shooting contest with Paisley and Cade in the first book, is hard to beat. This book has suspense and romance, which is one of my favorite combinations! And I thought I had figured out who was behind it all, and I wasn’t thrilled with it, but my suspicions were wrong, thank goodness. I love the town of Savage Wells with all its quirky characters, and I hope we’ll get more stories about them soon!

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ever since reading the Little House series and my dad's Louis L'Amour paperbacks, I've loved reading westerns with romance! This is an exciting hidden identity story with John going undercover in the small town to investigate the anonymous warning of a plot against his life. I really felt for Liesl and her difficult circumstances of realizing how corrupt her father and his friends are. I admired that she did what she could for the locals, and didn't let that feeling of powerlessness descend into hopelessness. She finds a hero in John and I was in anticipation of when they would be able to confide their secrets in each other. When John is ready to call in reinforcements, it made me realize how much we take our instant communication and quick travel for granted! Back then it took days, even with the telegraph. I love the way John falls for Liesl and is so protective of her and the town.

I almost didn’t want to start this book because I knew it would end! But I was not disappointed one bit reading this amazing story. I loved every page. There is adventure, banter, and smart, strong characters.
I love and appreciate how the author writes women. Liesl and Paisley (who I loved from the other two books) are wonderfully strong characters. Liesl has been through so much with her horrible father. As soon as she was on the page, I instantly loved her. Tansy just makes me smile. She is one of my all time favorite characters. Hawk is Hawk. I feel safe when he’s around. There is a big task ahead for him, Paisley and Savage Wells. And it is a fantastic read.
All of my favorite characters are back. When Paisley and Cade were on the page, it reminded me how to fabulous book one was.
The climax of this book is one I won’t forget for a long time. The way Sarah Eden writes hers characters and plots are genius.
I received an ARC from the publisher. All views and options expressed are my own.

This is the story of US Marshal John Hawking. He has done his best to clean up the towns under his care from criminal elements, but when he gets a warning about a death threat from a small town on the outer reaches of his jurisdiction, he heads there—and gets more than he bargained for. Liesl is doing her best to help those families that are being hurt by their corrupt sheriff—who also happens to be her father. Circumstances quickly spiral out of her control and John and Liesl are thrown into a situation they could never have predicted. Can they bring down a criminal enterprise when they aren’t sure who to trust? And can John let Liesl into his heart when danger is all around them?

This book was one of my favorites so far this year. There was action and adventure, a slow-burn romance, and a glimpse of previous characters from the first two books.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and was so happy to hear a third one was being published. Wyoming Wild did not disappoint and is probably my favorite of the series.

This story is a wonderful blend of romance, danger, intrigue, suspense, and adventure. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. It was fast paced, had a great plot twist, complex characters, and a very satisfying ending. If you love a good historical western romance, I highly recommend this one!

This can be read as a standalone, but reading the first two books will really add to your enjoyment.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for an eARC. All opinions are completely my own.

Sarah has a great talent for writing a twisty turny villainous mystery. The intrigue of who was causing all the problems in Sand Creek kept me turning page after page. That being said I was a little let down about who the culprit was…

I also felt like the romance was lack luster. There just wasn’t enough tension building, especially on Hawk’s part. And I almost missed the first kiss… 🧐

If you absolutely love the Savage Wells universe, then read this one. It was fun to see Cade and Paisley, Tansy, Andrew and the Dr again.

It's been a while since I read such a delightful romance book. It finally lists that this is part of the Savage Wells series (#3). I'm glad I had read the first 2 because it helps you appreciate the supporting characters even more. I liked how strong the main lady is, but how she recognizes when she needs help and has the courage to ask for help. The mystery and a few twists kept the story interesting and gripping. I love Sarah Eden's writing style.
