Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.
She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?
Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).
3.5⭐️ Cowboy smut was great and there had a better connection/chemistry than the last couple but again with them out of pocket endings 😩 it just makes it real cheesy!!! But other than that I loved that it was kind of a quick enemies to fuckers- I mean lovers 😉 you see a little of that in the last book and that the girl likes the guy but this one you get the BANGING and he’s like “Giddyup horsey” 🤠 and she’s like “Yeehaw” 🤠 if you know what I mean 😏
Jeremiah was 2 min older then his twin brother Reece, but he always felt he had to watch out for him and protect him. Reece was laid back, easy going and fun loving . Jeremiah was the brooding brother that never let anyone get close. Ruth is the feisty and outspoken friend of Charlie and he and Ruth seemed to hate each other with all the arguments and angst between them. When the hot chemistry between them explodes, everything changes between them. The become frenemies with benefits. A well written storyline that gets dark, intense, and emotional as they try to understand their feelings. There’s also danger and suspense that they didn’t see coming. A captivating and intriguing story.

The anticipation for Jeremiah’s story, the other twin, was well worth the wait. Jerimiah and Ruth have a very hostile and angst filled relationship, tolerable only because they both love Charlie and Reece. They find themselves in a place where they can work out their aggressive feelings and oh my it was splendid. Stasia Black has given us a beautiful story of love and forgiveness.
This one starts out with conflict out the gate, but that's not unusual for Jeremiah Walker because his whole life has been filled with it. He's currently working a ranch in Central Texas that his boss, Xavier, has him and his twin brother, Reece, running for him. This book picks up after the book Reece, but can definitely be read alone. Anyway, Reece is getting married to Charlie (aka Penelope Chambers), the woman of his dreams who saved him from his wild immature ways. Jeremiah is the older of the twin men by two minutes but he's always been the more serious and mature between the two of them. Anyway, after a tornado has torn through the main ranch house, construction has been commencing and the boys are taking over from the construction crew that they recommended is falling short on completing the project on the specified timetable. Charlie's uber rich parents are arriving in two days for the wedding and are staying at the ranch house but it needs to be completed in the area they are staying. Jeremiah enters the main bedroom to discover Ruth Harshbarger (Charlie's best friend, maid of honor and previous ranch owner) painting the walls with the newly installed carpet barely covered and the ceiling unpainted drywall. He yells at her which startles her to knock over the paint can which ruins the carpet. The reason he yelled was because she should be painting the ceiling first and then the walls, which all should have been done before the carpet installation. How was she to know, she has no home improvement knowledge, but that's just the way her encounters occur with the over serious Jeremiah; he always gives off the impression that he's better than anyone else. Fast forward a couple of days and Ruth is stuck on the side of a deserted road, out of gas. She calls her best friend, Charlie, to bring her a can of gas so she can make it to the nearest gas station to fill up. Lo and behold, it's Jeremiah that comes with a gas can filled with gas. He smart mouths to her about how irresponsible she is for running out of gas, how you should never let it go pass a quarter of a tank because the tank sediment could gum up the engine ... blah, blah. When he's done he asks her to start her engine to make sure it starts and when she attempts to start it, it sputters and dies, refusing to start. He tells her that he'll run her back to the ranch but she convinces him to take her to town because she has wedding items to pay for and the deadline is today, it's almost too late as it is. He agrees and takes her around town to do her items as long as there's enough time to complete his item before they head back to the ranch and she agrees. They do her things and head out to do his which entails going about an hour away to pickup a horse trailer that he bought to help out at the ranch considering that Xavier, their old boss, is giving his brother Reece two prize horses as a wedding gift and they can start a horse breeding program. It has been raining torrential downpours since they left town and they need to cross two creeks to get to where the trailer is and it is very steep terrain out there. They make it there and get the trailer and start heading back slowly because of the slickness of the road and hauling a trailer. They pass the first creek okay but the water is about an inch from the bridge and when they get to the second bridge there's about three inches of water over the bridge. They are unwilling to chance it because even a small amount of water on the bridge can cause them to get swept away into the rushing water of the creek. They decide to back up onto higher ground and pull off the road into some trees to wait for the weather to subside. She's regretting getting out in the rain to check on Jeremiah's handling of hooking the trailer up because now she's soaking wet plus while back in town Jeremiah stopped and had a hamburger with fries and she only ate a couple of his fries so she was hungry and thirsty. He offers her two stale granola bars and takes two empty bottles out to place on the bed of his truck to gather rain water so they won't get dehydrated. They bicker back and forth between each other and it comes out that Ruth has accepted a job in Fort Worth, but she hasn't told anyone else including her best friend Charlie and she'll be leaving after the wedding. He criticizes her about not telling Charlie after she arranged for Ruth to get paid for being her wedding coordinator by her mother in hopes to get enough money to by a house close by. They argue back and forth about loyalty and family; that family isn't always about blood but people we choose to be our family. She reaches over to turn on the engine because she's hot and it's humid in the cab of the truck when he grabs her, stopping her. It seems that he's let his truck go below a quarter of a tank of gas and they can't afford to waste any in order to make it home. She starts to harp on him and before she knows it he's pulled her into his lap and ceased her comments by fusing his lips to hers in a searing kiss. This is where their attraction to each other explodes and the sexual chemistry goes off the charts! Sad to say it, but this is where I'll leave you. It gets way steamy and secrets come to light and there's even a kidnapping or two. I can tell you, this book is definitely worth getting, the off the charts heat alone makes it worth it, but add in a fantastic storyline, strong, likeable characters and an unexpected plot twist and you've got the makings of a five star book. Totally worth the price of admission on this one!

This is the 5th book in the series and it can be read as a standalone. Ruth and Jeremiah have never gotten along and now that her car isn’t running, he is her new driver. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, emotion and steam. Great characters with lots of depth and intense chemistry. I liked it.
Enemies to lovers, friends with benefits to love of a lifetime Jeremiah: A Stud Ranch Standalone Novel (Stud Ranch Book 5) by Stasia Black is all hot and steamy control. Jeremiah is clearly a man in control at all times, his grumpy demeanor tells everyone around him to tread lightly while giving the reader hints that something in his past traumatically damaged him. Ruth and Jeremiah’s acquaintance is combative for every moment they occupy each other’s space. Getting trapped in Jeremiah’s truck during a storm puts their combative natures to hot, steamy, gritty and erotically dirty and controlling to good, panty melting use. It feels as if every moment and interaction between them is leading up to this tumultuous and inevitable coming together, was an extensive, heated love dance of foreplay. These two are explosive and Jeremiah’s need to control feeds a need Ruth did not even realize she would enjoy let alone need and even crave. This book puts Jeremiah and Ruth through the paces of their relationship. They move past enemies and secretly become lovers. In the background, Ruth’s unknown antagonist is continually plotting against her. Between her and Jeremiah, everything seems golden and perfect until an accidental revelation sets Jeremiah’s words and actions to pushing everyone away and falling back on high expectations, expecting the worst of those around him including his brother. Overall, Jeremiah fell hard and fast, but doesn’t really trust himself or anyone else, including Ruth until everything is on the line, including Ruth’s life. Realizing and accepting his love for Ruth and her love for him, along with safety, family and healing set this unlikely couple up for a long and ’controlled’ HEA. "But her eyes zeroed in on my hard... She only gave me one word: 'More.'"
POV: dual, mostly HUMOR: some F BOMBS: yes STANDALONE: yes NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: pony play, power exchange, BDSM, spanking, graphic language and explicit scenes, attempted murder, toxic parents, Jesus/Christ/God used as expletives & exclamations, physical assault, kidnapping, held captive & used as sex slave
CHARACTERS: Ruth Harshbarger (25), wedding planner to best friend Charlene marrying Reece. Ruth has always conflicted with Jeremiah Walker (Reece's grumpier twin) until sparks fly while stuck in a storm.
OVERALL: dark story - super steamy sexy times - recommend - will read author's other works
PROS: 1. I know this is fiction, but I appreciated that the author included that the MCs had a clean bill of health/on the pill 2. Although I didn't quite feel the chemistry between the MCs - their sexy times were HOT! STEAMY! and OH MY PANTY MELTING goodness. 3. HEA epilogue with sexy time
CONS: 1. Didn't seem like the brothers worked out their stuff. They were so close though. 2. Some similarities to 50 shades (don't do hearts & flowers, don't like being touched, etc.) 3. The pony play was unexpected - would've been nice to have a heads-up notice. 4. Some Inconsistencies took me out of the story for a bit
NOTEWORTHY: 1. This standalone had action, suspense, a bit angsty, some humor, lots of sexy times and an HEA epilogue. 2. Author can definitely write a story

Steamy frenemies with benefits, intrigue and secrets are shared Whoa! Ms. Black set out to make a steamy but intriguing story and she accomplished that in triplicate. First, we have the passion between Jeremiah and Ruth which plays out in taunts and presumably hatred; then we have Charlie’s arrogant and disgusting mother; lastly, we have an unknown threat but why? Being her best friend, Ruth is the wedding planner for Charlie and Reece, for their story read “Reece” who is Jeremiah’s identical twin brother but younger by minutes. Reece is the happy-go-lucky brother whereas Jeremiah is the curmudgeon. Nobody knows why he is so standoffish, but we find out that he has some big secrets too. One day Jeremiah is sent to rescue Ruth. They have words and the next thing they know, they have consummated a long held sexual attraction for the other. “But wait...there’s more!” I’ll just say poor Charlie. Her estranged mother has returned with a vengeance. Lastly, somebody has been out for Ruth and this vendetta which started in “Reece” will end in “Jeremiah.” Oh. My. Word. This book covers so much intrigue, passion and a couple amazing revelations. When you learn how Reece and Jeremiah had lived before Xavier took them in as family, it will break your heart. Can Jeremiah stop his aloofness to let Ruth truly in? This book starts off with immediate humor and forcefulness. It just gets better from there. If you like frenemies with benefits and a touch of intrigue, read this book. You’ll love it. I volunteered to review an ARC through Booksprout and I recommend it.
This wasn't my 1st rodeo by this author, lol, and it certainly won't be my last. A strong female made of fire clashes with a man made of ice. The results are a all-consuming passion that you just need to read about.
She was sad because she lost her home and was going to have to accept a job away from her feiends-the only family she had. He had his own demons but the one thing that they both had in common was that they both clashed when near one another. As they prepare for a wedding, she's happy for her friend and he's happy, though weary for his brother...but due to a confined situation, both clash together in a very different way over and over. They can't help being attracted and don't want to stop. However, harsh words are said and danger is far too close.
She was a great lead and after we find out about the sacrifices he made for his brother, you realize just how much pain he'd been carrying around inside. I never expected his story to be so dark, nor her own family tree to have such consequences. That shocked me when I was just expecting a heated tale where he needed healing and she finally found a home. Well written, and though I was very surprised, the love and want for one another shone through.

Whew Shat! Jeremiah is a total control freak and it's kind of annoying, but also very hot under the right circumstances. Jeremiah and Ruth have a: I hate you relationship that is so deep you can taste it in the grapes of Texas Wine Country. She can't do anything right as far as he's concerned and he isn't happy unless everyone is doing what he says, including his twin brother Reece. A breakdown, running errands for Reece and Charlie's upcoming wedding, and a good old Texas flash flooding rain in Hill Country leaves the two enemies stuck in his truck for the night. What will the two ever do to pass the time, a game of tie me up, tie me down. Now Pandora's Box is opened, what will the two enemies to lovers anytime/anyplace do? What is Buck up to?
So, both parties have trust issues stemming from parental neglect of some form. However, Jeremiah has unresolved trauma that is deeply ingrained into his programming that he refuses to talk about. While the steam in this book almost caused my Kindle to combust, it was the story of Jeremiah, Ruth, Charlie with her parents, Reece and Charlie, the brothers, all the relationships gave it depth. I definitely have to go back and read Xavier and Mel's book.

A wonderful read, loved every moment of this book great characters and plot This was a very exciting and well written read which I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of, I would thoroughly advise you that once you begin reading this book you will find it impossible to put down until you reach the end. Jeremiah and Ruth have a very tumultuous relationship and you are able to feel the love they have for Charlie and Reece and yet they are always running, moving from one place to another and this puts additional strain on the relationship. Stasis Black is a wonderful author able to write her characters in such amazing detail and draws you into the plot and this book was no different. I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2022 Jeremiah was always consider the unfriendly, standoffish twin compared to Reece, the friendly, everybody's friend twin but the interaction between Jeremiah and Ruth during Reece's story was epic and I had hoped we would eventually get to see how their story unfolds. The wait was worth it and Ms. Black did not disappoint her fans AT ALL! The saying is that there is a fine line between love and hate and boy oh boy, once Jeremiah and Ruth crossed that line, the sparks and intensity were off the charts! This book finally answers the mystery of where Jeremiah was during the 6 weeks he disappeared and what happened during that time, something he has never revealed, even to Reece. Once the mystery is revealed, it leads some insight into the reasons for Jeremiah's demeaner and reluctance to get close to anyone. I can't say this enough, this story was WELL WORTH THE WAIT to finally read Jeremiah (and Ruth's) story.

This was a really good book and I loved all they characters but having not read the previous books 1-4 I was a little lost about who was who and what happened to certain people but nonetheless there was heartbreaking moments that seemed to explain the story. Ruth is helping her best friend Charlie plan her wedding to Reece but with that comes his twin brother Jeremiah who drives me crazy mad but also is so sexy that I want him real bad. Jeremiah is helping out his brother Reece and when he gets close to Ruth he doesn’t know if he should kill her or kiss her but most of his fantasies have been hot between them and now because her car broke down he has to drive her around but she is not very thankful but when that passion brewing between explodes it’s raw and real. There is so many twists and turns, secrets and lies and unpleasant family members and trust issues that brings this book to life and keeps you turning the page. How does it all turn out you’ll have to get this book to find out.

Great fifth book in the series. I could tell that Jeremiah had issues in Reece’s book, the way he was too over protective and opinionated on his adult (twin) brothers’ behaviours. I also guessed that the tension between Jeremiah and Ruth would end up being a story of their own. Ruth is a lovely character, I love her spunk. The story did have a couple of annoying mistakes, like in one scene referring to Melanie as Melody, and then referring to the secret period of time that changed Jeremiah went from three weeks in Reece’s book, to six weeks early in this book, to two moths later on in the book. I thought we’d delve slightly further into the secret few weeks that changed Jeremiah, but it was skimmed over somewhat, but I suppose we got the gist with the tidbits of information that was offered. Good read. Nice to have cameos from Xavier and Mel. And, finally, Charlie’s parents are awful!
A very emotional read! Wow Jeremiah likes to pretend he has no issues, but he is full of them. This starts off very light hearted and numerous at times. Ruth sure like to give Jeremiah a hard time and doesn’t put up with his grumpy judgmental persona. Have to say their interactions are sexy as hell! Then we start moving deeper into why Jeremiah has sex the way he does and why he has to be in control. The reason will make you cry and the scary thing is that it most likely happens more then we think. The last few chapters will really touch you and warm you to Jeremiah.
Got to see lots of characters from other books and some storylines from Reece’s book got finalized too.
I sexy emotional read that will hit all your requirements for a great read
So, this is my first book from the author in this series and while it's technically a standalone with it's own HEA, by not having any background or knowledge it did make it difficult for the to understand who everyone was and where they all fit, not to mention it did feel like I was coming in to half the story. The story starts with Jeremiah and Ruth knowing and mutually hating each other. Why this started we never find out. This book was an emotional rollercoaster and given that it's only a relatively short, quick read my emotions were all over the place from start to finish. I quite enjoyed some aspects of it. I particularly appreciated that it was Jeremiah who was suffering trauma as an abusive survivor, which made a unique point of difference. Overall, though, it was just too much in too short a space for me.
This is the 5th book in the Stud Ranch Standalone series featuring Jeremiah and Ruth's love/hate relationship. The sexual chemistry between Jeremiah and Ruth is like nothing I've ever seen their taunting and bickering is foreplay for them. Since Jeremiah's twin brother Reece is marrying Ruth's best friend Charlie and Ruth is doing all the wedding planning they're being forced to spend more time together. Jeremiah is very standoffish and he's harboring some really big secrets. When he's sent to rescue Ruth they argue and then their passion explodes leading them to finally give in to their chemistry. The person who's after Ruth and began their campaign in Reece is still out to get her. You really need to read this intriguing story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

This book in the Stud Ranch series is about Reese’s brother Jeremiah. This is still on the same ranch in Texas as the last book about Reese and Charlie.
Ruth and Jeremiah are like water and oil or fire and ice and even though they seemed to be attracted to each other, something clicked and hatred took over.
When one night of being stranded in a truck during a downpour turns into more, can they let go of each other when the time comes?
I liked Ruth and how she’s a fierce friend and protector. Jeremiah was more of a grumpy know it all, that didn’t believe in happiness for himself. Or others. Especially his brother.
Drama was there from the beginning and don’t get me started on Charlie’s mom!

Ruth and Jeremiah are always at each other throats whenever they are near each other. When her car runs out of gas her friend sends him to help her and they end up riding in his truck to run their errands together. When its storms they get caught when the road floods and things heat up between them in his truck. Soon it hard for them to keep their hand off each other. However, there is someone that is watching Ruth and it isn't because they like her. Will things between her and Jeremiah become something serious? Will the person watching Ruth become a threat?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Jeremiah is book five in the series Stud Ranch Standalone by author Stasia Black. This one is dark and hard. It will rip your heartstrings- heck it will crack your heart, in the end it will help you heal if you have the courage. An alpha male drop dead gorgeous with a past full of secrets that can shred. She’s feisty and has a hankering for a cowboy, he lets her in and push’s her away. Both their hearts can only take so much- one has to give, before it’s too late. There’s a threat out there and they have no clue. This spicy- delicious tale is full of dark issues and heartfelt moments. Enjoy!!

Jeremiah and Ruth seem like they hate each other, but what if it's just hiding the fiery chemistry they have between them? To make it more complicated there is a Wedding to arrange for Jeremiah's brother Reece and Charlie (Charlotte), and Charlie's mother is coming to the ranch with her horrible attitude. Will it end with poor Charlie wishing she just eloped? I like the steam between these two, both of them were easy to like (although Jeremiah can be a bit frustrating) and I loved the colourful characters in this book. It was great finding out more of Jeremiah's backstory, I wanted to kick Charlie's mother.

Damaged 4 stars- Damaged but not broken, Jeremiah was able to make a life for himself and his brother, Reece. While Reece has found Charlie and is in a state of happiness, Jeremiah is in constant disagreements with Ruth. I don’t believe there’s a thin line between hate and love but it looks like their sniping at each other is really to distract themselves from their attraction. When they finally gave in, the steam just kept on going until it was undeniable. An incident caused a problem though and a danger just piled on top of it. It’s not a very long read but if you are looking for plenty of steam, a bit of suspense and drama, this is your book. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
Reads as a standalone but I definitely want to get the other books in this series... Jeremiah is a kind of "my way or the highway" grump but holy guacamole, I wouldn't mind being stranded with this sexy man! Given that as a street kid he was the subject of sexual & other abuse which continued to haunt him he actually got the job done & he had the opportunity to heal some of those wounds with the right woman at last, feisty Ruth. The characters were relatable except for the bride to be's parents, ugh & the unhinged Buck who I hoped would rot in prison. Generally well written but several weird words, typo's etc, insufficient to make me give up on the book which hopefully was edited by release date. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Stasia Black has done it again with the Stud Ranch Standalone series. These books have interconnected characters, but you'll have no trouble reading them as stand-alone books. But you really don't need to with you Kindle Unlimited subscription, they are all available to read for free. This books is the enemies to lovers story of Jeremiah and Ruth. These to are oil and water. They may have crazy chemistry, but drive each other crazy. While working together to help with his twin Reece and her BF Charlie's wedding, they are pulled closer and closer together. This book has steam, fireworks, twists, turns, drama, and some secrets best left in the past. I've loved all these books, but this one was special

Jeremiah is another great read in the Stud Ranch series. I love this series of books with interconnected characters. Ruth and Jeremiah's story takes place amid the preparations for the wedding of Ruth's best friend Charlie, and Jeremiah's twin brother Reece. If you read Reece's book, you already know there is a character who has ill will towards Ruth, and that comes to a head in this book. As for Jeremiah and Ruth, they butt heads constantly except during their steamy encounters where he dominates and she is more than happy to follow. So hot! This interesting story held my attention all the way through. Stasia Black is an excellent storyteller and I really cared about these characters. I loved it.

Stasia Black does it again with 5th book in the series! It’s got everything and was so thrilled that it starts off with Reece and Charlie’s romance from book 4. I loved their story but this book about Jeremiah and Ruth really rocked my world! I was Only left with one question about what was the end result with Charlie’s parents after all was said done??? Did they evoke as all the others did in a good way? Jeremiah definitely had my heart though as I understood his pain and suffering. Overall this was such o super hot and steamy book that definitely leaned toward some very sexy BDSM situations, but also had the drama and suspense that makes this a five star read.
As soon as I started this book I fall in love with the characters and was laughing so much! It’s a awesome read and a quick one in my opinion just like all of this author books I have read so far I want to go back and read the whole series! I love that this book is a standalone and I wasn’t lost reading now that I know I love the characters I want to know more. I can’t wait to go back and read more on this series! This book is a wonderful and a winner too me! If you love her past books than your for sure love this one too!! :)

Jeremiah is a quick hater to lovers cowboy read with a hint of light BDSM elements. Jeremiah and Ruth hate each other and every time they are in the same room word they start a fight until one stormy afternoon when they channel their dislike into something dirtier and sinful. Everything changes but Jeremiah's past is still controlling his life and a bad decision can ruin everything. So this is insta-love, both Ruth and Jeremiah are ok- just Jeremiah has some annoying outburst. Their suddenly insta-love is not on from my liking I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
