An arrogant celebrity chef and a small-town waitress serve up the perfect blend of sweet & spicy!
Bailey Hart has problems—too many jobs, not enough money, and one disaster after another that get in the way of her dream of opening an art gallery.
But the biggest problem of all?
A celebrity chef who looks down his nose at her beloved hometown. He’s grouchy, arrogant, demanding… and ridiculously attractive.
Nikko Cassvetti also has problems. His show has been canceled, his biggest rival stole his ex-girlfriend, and he owes the mob a favor. Now he’s stuck upstate trying to open a five-star restaurant in a town best known for flying saucer sightings.
Worst of all?
A distractingly pretty waitress who’s so sweet and helpful and just plain nice… that he's tempted to give it all up and stay in this crazy town.
Sweet meets heat in this small-town romantic comedy! This is a standalone story with some overlapping characters from the rest of the series.
World traveler, vegetarian, salsa dancer, film fanatic, lover of happy endings. In an alternate steampunk universe, Thea travels by dirigible and gets in sword fights with dashing villains.
In this one, she lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband/salsa partner, three antic children, and an agenda-driven cat. She writes at the intersection of sweet and steamy, and hopes her stories will melt your heart and brighten your day.
This is the second book in the Tales from the Flying Saucer Café Series and can be read as a series. The books have overlapping characters so you'll enjoy the other books in the series. A small town famous for their flying saucer sightings. A grumpy winning chef and a pretty waitress whose dreams is to open an art gallery will brighten your day. Prepare to laugh and cry as you read these tales. Well written with fun characters and an engaging story line. I read an advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
No one is a harder worker than Bailey in this delightful addition to the town of Welkins Ridge, the home of an UFO sighting! She's a whirlwind who works as a barista, a bartender and a house cleaner all to pay off her grandmother's debts and save enough to purchase the beautiful Pearson House. She wants to turn the house into an art gallery to showcase the talents of the local artists.
Nikko, on the other hand, is a well renowned chef who has fallen from grace due to a big ego and anger issues. He has never met anyone as kind or selfless as Bailey. As a matter of fact, he is totally charmed by her.
Thea Dawson's writing is wonderful. Although there is a lot of interaction from the people in book one of the Flying Saucer Cafe series, this book stands well on its own. The character development is rich and interesting, and the epilogue is a hoot!!! I thoroughly enjoyed Bailey's Comet and truly look forward to the next book Pride and Joyce!
This was much more of a traditional romance than the first book in the series. It featured the same quirky little town I really love and supporting characters and I remembered Bailey, this book’s female protagonist, from book one. I like the author’s writing style, especially the way she gives you both character’s analysis of not only other’s behaviour but also their own. Nikko could be a thoughtless jerk at times yet was oddly self-aware of how what he just said came across more negatively than he intended or just came out wrong. He usually didn’t bother acting on that insight though. The characters were well-developed, there were some funny scenes and while I enjoyed the plot it was too predictable for me. If you don’t mind that you can tell where the storyline is going, it’s an entertaining, cute romance especially for fans of the series.

Bailey is working lots of jobs to try to save money to buy a building in Welkins Ridge, things haven't been going too well as her grandmother needed help paying for her dog's vet bills, and other things have cropped up. She's cleaning the holiday cottages when she meets Nik the Knife, a TV chef, except as she's so busy she has no idea who he is, he's in town to find a building to start up a new restaurant. Of course, we know what's going to happen! Nik sees Bailey again at the bar she works at, he realises that he was a jerk. He asks her to show him around town, which she does. They have feelings for each other but he lives in New York and she can't leave her grandmother. How will this be resolved?

I loved coming back to Welkins Ridge not only because it sounds so wonderful but also all the loveable and sometime quirky townsfolk and this time we get to see Bailey fall in love. She is a kind hearted people pleaser with the dream of opening an art gallery and meeting Nikko was not in her plan nd whilst Nikko has terrible communication skills he and Bailey are perfect for each other even if it is a "summer fling". I fell in love with how they brought out the real them as well as how Nikko pushed Bailey to reach for her dreams. We get plenty of laughs, sweet moments, crossed wires and romance along with a bit of worry and love. I can not wait for the next book to see who is lucky enough and deserving of Joyce!.

Bailey is working four part time jobs to try to raise enough money to open an art gallery to showcase local artists. Nikko, a celebrity chef rents a cottage that Bailey cleans while researching a possible property for a new restaurant. When Bailey first meets grumpy Nikko, she is less than impressed. But as she gets to know Nikko and he persuades her to introduce him to local food producers she decides to have a fling with him. Very funny moments when Nikko meets a cheese farmer and especially when Bailey meets his agent. Really looking forward to the next in this series.

Bailey is hardworking and getting so close to her goal of saving enough money to open an art gallery. Nikko is in town trying to open a restaurant and doesn't expect to find someone like her in the small town obsessed with UFOs.
I was rooting for Bailey to succeed at her dream of opening the gallery from the beginning. She was so sweet and likeable. It was fun watching Nikko fall for someone so unexpectedly. They had great chemistry and Thea did an excellent job writing their romance. This is one of my favorite books she's written so far.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Bailey works too much to pay her grandmother’s bills and save for her art gallery dream and Nikko is a celebrity chef with a bad attitude. She doesn’t want anything to do with him. But he is sexy, a fantastic cook, keeps asking her to show him around, and could be a potential summer fling? Bailey is a soft touch so I knew she couldn’t keep her heart out of it no matter how hard she tried. Nikko wasn’t expecting to fall for her and that quirky town. I wouldn’t have Bailey’s courage to take on such a big dream so I understand her trepidation, but it’s also what causes her to pull back on romance too. There were a lot of laugh out loud wacky moments in this romantic comedy.
I loved Getting Lucky, the first in Thea’s Flying Saucer series. But I loved Bailey’s Comet even more! The characters were adorable together - that sweet/grumpy combo! With complimentary love languages and dreams, and relatable weaknesses. XO And the town is so charming! Plus I just loved the creative way she brought it all together in the end. ;) I also love the title and cover art! I read an ARC and am happy to offer this honest review.
This is a cool, quirky town and I'll happily read more. With the town expanding, hopefully we can get several more stories out. We met Bailey in the first book, this quiet, hardworking local. I enjoyed seeing her story unfold, and I liked seeing how Nicco evolved as well. This is a bit of an opposite attract story, with a great cast of characters
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Bailey and Nikko. They both learned a lot about themselves as they spent time together. It was very funny and romantic.
Bailey's Comet is the second book in the Flying Saucer Cafe series. This book has the same cast of characters from the first book, Getting Lucky. Bailey Hart is Welkin Glens hardest working local. She's part-time barista/bartender/housekeeper, and does it all with a cheerful disposition, albeit extremely tired. It's in her housekeeping mode at Madeline's Cottages where she meets Nikko Cassavetti, a grumpy celebrity chef, exiled from New York City to small town Welkins Glen where he is to search out a location for one of his famous restaurants. Due to Nikko's antagonistic attitude, he and Bailey clash at every turn. This is definitely an opposites attract story and the heat quotient does rise once these two get over their mutual dislike. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
